大曲の花火 ONLY in JAPAN Fireworks Festival 2020

hello everybody greetings this is akita prefecture omagari is the name come on over here a little bit omagadi is the name of the town that we're in this is fireworks city and in about five minutes we're going to be starting a live stream of the omagadi fireworks festival this is all around the world so welcome to everybody wherever you are in the world you can leave you tell me which country you're watching from you're really going to enjoy this if you've never been to a japanese fireworks called a hanabi taikai you're gonna love this look at my mask fireworks this event has been somewhat subdued the every season omagatti has a fireworks festival unlike most municipalities around japan they have fireworks festivals in the summer only here they have it four times a year and the three times already have been cancelled there's nobody around just for a second how you doing so the fourth three of the four festivals this year have been canceled this is the first one that is going on we crowdfunded this festival the only japan community so i want to give a big shout out to the 800 plus people who backed this we raised almost 50 000 u.s dollars maybe more about that much to put on this show and within the omagadi fireworks festival there's going to be an only in japan festival they have been on the screen right up here up here they've been giving a shout out saying to only in japan thank you so much and that means a lot to me and the community the fireworks community here in japan according to news reports lost 5.6 billion dollars because of the pandemic a lot of people are hurting everywhere around the world it's not just a fireworks industry but i love fireworks i made a really strong connection with people in the fireworks community here in japan and when the chance arose for me to put on a fireworks festival i asked really can i do that how much would it how much would you need so i went to kickstarter and we were able to raise this money i think in like less than 10 days we hit our goal and then we doubled it so we're gonna be putting on a second uh fireworks festival on october 10th uh sorry october 21st and joining me in this report is kanai are me that's awesome the message is things are looking up hope in the night skies and then there's a message here which i'll show you later this is about us bringing this all to omagadi to japan and the wherever you are in the world whether you've lost your job you've lost somebody a loved one things are things are looking really difficult and challenging for the future to come for the next hour i i'm going to do my best to explain now this is omagadi but it's also part of dyson city dyson city was incorporated with five towns that came together five towns came together in in uh in 2005. this is the 15th anniversary of those five towns so they're going to be putting on a 15th anniversary party they said mama not good so very quick very soon they're going to be lighting up what's called opening ceremony next up is the shakodama creatives where they're good shakodamas are size 10 watermelon shaped fireworks that are massive they're about to launch these up four companies are competing get ready are you ready i'm not ready i'm ready now about 300 meters into the sky so it goes up pretty high so you need a very wide lens by the way our we have two shakodama in this presentation coming up at 6 45. thank you you're here with us here in japan here we go oh this is shakodama whoa those are massive that was a shakodama i like the colors of those they everything is is specially uh competition of shakodama oh this is shakodama oh it's a big one spectacular so each of the four companies shoot up two shakodama and uh then they put on a little fireworks competition here [Music] lingering there nice nice i'm stuck we get our own vote that was number three this is number four now so you guys remember it and tell me what you think here's a shakodama big watermelon size one going up wow that was a nice shakodama that one was had some had some real distance on it okay here comes the fourth performance this is a competition between four companies [Music] all right music fireworks festival this is omagadi in akita uh prefecture this was a really special experience this is the only fireworks uh festival in japan hanami taikai not to be cancelled or suspended we had a thing where fireworks are being exploded around japan without any notice whatsoever to give hope to people but this one fireworks festival uh for me was where we could come all together and i could bring the only japan community here and through fireworks just for an hour just for a moment we could stop thinking about all the bad stuff in the world and just focus on something that's just gives us hope for something bigger and better in the future i've heard the messages from so many viewers out there that that they're hurting that they've lost family members or you know i my heart really goes up for that you can see that oh that's the fireworks staff and the on the other side waving to us can you hold that can i sure [Music] oh [Music] there you go that's the end of the only japan
