as you're well aware we're living in unprecedented times join us now for today's special program i want to spend my night mending broken people i wanna spend my life removing pain lord let my words [Music] i wanna spend my life mending broken people i wanna spend my life meeting broken people hello and welcome to 3abn today we are really excited to bring you the teaching of biblical teaching today this is a bible topic and here's what we will discuss we will show you from scripture the manner of christ's return is for some people it's surprising because boy the scripture says it's visible it's audible it's glorious it's cataclysmic then we're going to talk about what happens to the wicked at his return what the condition of the earth is and then what happens to the saints and the thousand years that we're going to spend and then we're going to talk about the second resurrection and the second death that the bible talks about that so many people don't even know is in the bible that's right and it is going to be i believe a glorious study let me introduce my brother who is with me tonight and we're just so excited ryan thank you ryan day evangelist supreme called by god and anointed oh praise the lord thank you so much it's a blessing to be a part of this program and what we're discussing today is one of my favorite topics because it talks about a time which we're going to look forward to very soon when jesus comes to get us and makes everything new amen and i just wanted to start off this program with the last chapter of the bible revelation 22 and the angel that's guiding john and showing him all these things that's going on he says to him verse 10 do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book for the time is at hand he who is unjust let him be unjust still he who is filthy let him be filthy still he who is righteous let him be righteous still he is holy let him be holy still and this is the time when we get to that final point jesus stands up and he says and behold i am coming quickly and my reward is with me to give to everyone according to his work you know what we're getting close to that time and tonight we want to talk about what you can expect you need to understand what the bible says about christ's return ryan you want to have a prayer for us absolutely let's go to the lord in prayer our father in heaven lord we are so privileged and honored as always to be here and we believe in the promised lord that we're two or three or more gathered in your name there you are with us lord and so father we dare not dive into this topic and take on such a powerful subject a series of subjects lord dealing with the end of time dealing with the great coming of jesus christ the second coming and dealing with thousand-year millennial reign and and the very final events when god deals with this sin issue lord empower us with your spirit give us the the mind of christ to be able to rightly divide your word of truth right now we ask in jesus holy name amen amen and amen you know we know that the bible says that jesus is coming like a thief jesus said it himself he says in matthew 24 41-42 watch therefore for you do not know what hour your lord is coming but know this that if the master of the house had known what the hour the thief would come he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into so we know that his return will be unexpected by most but listen to what paul wrote to the thessalonians in first thessalonians 5 4 he says but you brethren are not in darkness darkness is ignorance it's absence of the light of truth so he's talking to the christians he says you're not in darkness so that this day should overcome you as a thief ryan you and i both share something we both believed and were taught a secret rapture is there anything secret about the coming of the lord oh absolutely not um the bible is overwhelmingly clear that when jesus comes back again every single person on this planet who's alive and even those who are in the graves who are dead that know jesus christ or went to sleep in christ their savior they will resurrect and and so this is going to be an awesome event where every single saved person and even those alive that are wicked as we're going to get into in just a moment every i will see him everyone will hear him it will be a glorious event and we're going to back that up by the bible in just a moment all right so how do we know that he's coming back in visible form oh absolutely well my favorite passage to start with to kind of kick us off is always acts chapter 1 verses 9 through 11. so jesus has just delivered literally his final words to his disciples and there's many people on looking as he is about to ascend into heaven of course the acts chapter 1 records this event and so if you go to acts chapter 1 we're going to start in verse 9 notice what it says it says now when he had spoken these things while they watched he was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight and while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up behold two men stood by them in white apparel of course most scholars and theologians believe that this is these are angelic host like people okay so these are angels potentially so they stood by them in white apparel who also said men of galilee why do you stand gazing up into the heaven this same jesus who was taken up from you into heaven and here's the key word will so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven i love that passage because if you had no other scriptures in all the bible but you just had those verses it tells you enough to know that as they literally very physically uh you know very visually audibly i mean they're taking this in a very literal very uh clear sense they're seeing jesus ascend into the heavens and of course the angels confirmed there just as you see him leaving he will come in that exact same manner when he returns again but yet as we know shelley as you and i were both taught growing up that we were taught that when jesus returns again at this rapture that it's kind of secret and it's silent and only the saved will be caught up and everyone else is just left bewildered wondering what the world's going on but as we go through the scripture we will see very clearly that there are multiple points as jesus second coming is very visible it's very audible we're going to go through these points here i don't want to take it all up because i want to share it with shelley here but it's very clear that jesus jesus second coming is not a secret silent event it's going to be the most incredible event that has ever happened on this planet i mean this is the glorious climate it's climax of the whole gospel of god's grace and the redempt the everlasting covenant of redemption i used to i had the whole left behind series i was just confessed wonderfully written they were page turners but you would hear all of this about the secret rapture and then i'd read jesus words like math matthew 24 27 this is what jesus said he said as lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west so also will be the coming of the son of man is there anything secretive about lightning as it splashes across jesus is saying that he's coming and every eye will see him tell us absolutely so christ's return as we've mentioned and we'll make it very clear at this point it is very very visible right no one i remember watching that left behind series not to not to keep referencing it but i remember there's a particular scene in that movie where they're all on a plane and uh they're you know 37 38 000 feet up in the air and then in a moment in time these people go missing and their loved ones are looking beside and the plane basically erupts in chaos because the clothes of their loved ones and of their friends and of their family are laying behind and no one seems to know what in the world is happening but yet it's interesting when you read the biblical record for instance revelation chapter 1 verse 7 jesus says these words very clearly behold speaking of his coming he says he is coming with clouds and every eye will see him we can take that very literally because it means literally every eye will see him another great passage there we were in matthew 24 and you read verse 27 but if you go down to verse 30 notice what jesus says here speaking of his second coming he says then the sign of the son of man will appear in heaven and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and they will see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory i love that because jesus is confirming there what is also taught what we just read in acts 1 just as they saw him leave physically they're going where we all will see him return in the clouds just like he left amen and i hope that you at home are jotting down these scripture references so that you can talk to your loved ones and your friends about this and if we continue on in matthew 24 it's not only a visible return jesus said it's an audible return listen to what he says he will send his angels he's referring to himself in the first person with a great sound of a trumpet and they will gather together his elect from the four ends from one end of heaven to the other paul echoes this in first thessalonians 4 16 he says the lord himself will descend with a shout with the voice of an arc angel and with the trumpet of god and the dead in christ that's right we'll rise first so it's a very audible event and peter had something to say about this too didn't he he absolutely did absolutely so the peter i'm sorry go ahead yeah i'm just going to say second peter 3 absolutely so it's in second peter chapter 3 verse 10 and by the way the scripture she just read i like to just mention first thessalonians chapter 4 verse 16 and onward that's probably the loudest scripture in all the bible hey just because you have you know jesus and then the voice of the archangel the trump of god he's coming back with a shout uh but second peter chapter 3 verse 10 here this is powerful second peter chapter 3 and again verse 10 and notice what the bible says here it says but the day of the lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a here it is a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat both the earth and the works which are in it will burn or will be burned up so with a great noise and again my mind is taken back to that you know that that left behind scene where all these people are asleep on this plane and i'm thinking to myself if jesus just returned the people that's going to see and hear jesus probably quicker than anyone else is going to be those who are closer to him 37 38 000 feet in the air on a plane they're going to see and hear him but it's depicted in such a way as if no one happens to know no one's aware they're all bewildered and confused on what's happening but yet my friends we need to make it clear the bible is very clear that it's not secret it's not silent jesus will be seen and as we just read in those texts he definitely will be heard a great shout a great noise uh the voice of an archangel with the trump of god it's going to be so powerful that it's going to shake open the graves that's how powerful that noise is and before we so we sing it's visible it's audible it's a glorious return listen to what revelation 19 11-16 says i saw heaven open and behold a white horse and he who sat on him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he judges and makes war he's talking about jesus his eyes were like a flame of fire on his head were many crowns he had a name written that no one knew except himself he was clothed in a robe dipped in blood his name is called the word of god beginning was the word the word was with god the word was and the armies in heaven clothed in fine linen white and clean followed him on white horses and out of his mouth cause a sharp sword that he should strike it with in nations that reminds me of john 12 48 when jesus said the words i've spoken will judge you so that sword is is the word and he himself will rule with the rod of iron he himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty god and he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written king of kings and lord of lords so we see this is a literal event he is coming in glory and it is cataclysmic read revelation 6 14 absolutely that this is a this is an event that is going to rock this earth it is going to shake this world like no other event has in the history of this world and so revelation chapter 6 and you said verses what verse was that verse 14 okay 14 through 17 and of course this is a vision that john is receiving of the second coming of jesus and it says here then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up in every mountain an island was moved out of its place and the kings of the earth the great men the rich men the commanders the mighty men every slay and every free man hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and the rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him and and from him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb this is powerful and then verse 17 says for the great day of his wrath has come who was able to stand so it's visible it's audible it is glorious it is cataclysmic and you know what jesus told us in matthew 24 i love this because he tells us these things beforehand so that we won't be fooled and listen to what he says matthew 24 23 if anyone says to you oh look here is the christ or there do not believe it for false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive if possible even the elect see i have told you beforehand therefore they say to you look he's in the desert do not go out that's not how he's going to return or look he's in the inner rooms do not believe it and that's what he said as lightning comes from the east to the west so is there anything secret about this absolutely not and in fact you know you just you referenced just a moment ago that christ is coming back in all of his glory this is a glorious appearing and i think that's something worth mentioning just because when christ came the first time when you start comparing his first coming to his second coming he came the first time he was clothed in the skin and the enrobed in the flesh of man he gave up his his attributes he gave up his glory in heaven but when he comes back the second time he's coming back not as of course he's going to be the man christ but he's coming back in his glorified state and i just want to highlight this with just a couple of scriptures because again my friends many people again look at this as shelley has brought out very clearly here that many people believe this is going to be a secret silent event that it's just going to happen again they'll take those words from scriptures in the moment and the twinkling of an eye and they think it's just going to be this blink and boom it's going to happen that is communicating a sense of urgency a sense of quickness about this event but make no mistake my friends no one's going to be looking one moment turn their head the next and people go missing and you not know what the world's happening uh as we have seen you're gonna see him you're gonna hear him it's gonna bring a cataclysmic event upon this world and you better believe that every single person alive is going to see the glory of not only jesus christ but notice what matthew 25 31 says it says when the son of man comes in his glory but then notice this and all the holy angels with him then he will sit on the throne of his glory this is powerful because heaven is going to be emptied every angel is going to be with him and my friends please don't make any mistake about how powerful this is and how bright and glorious this event is going to be because i love thinking of the story on resurrection sunday when jesus was resurrected and those those roman soldiers were out there guarding uh you know the tomb of christ and the bible says that how many angels came they were just in one case there's just one angel one angel came and the bible says that all of these men fell it was multitudes of men that were guarding this this tomb because of the glory of one angel they fell as dead men not that they died but they passed out at the glory of just one angel my friends when jesus comes back not only is he going to be in all of his glory but all of the holy angels with him in heaven it's going to be so awesome so marvelous to behold and there's going to not be one person on the planet go wait what's happening what's occurring they're going to look up in the sky and the sky is going to be lit up with the glory of all of us amen amen and you know we want you to understand the reason that jesus is coming let me read give you these two scripture references acts 17 30-31 acts 17 30-31 says truly these times of ignorance god overlooked but now commands all men everywhere to repent because he has a pointed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man that's the man christ jesus whom he has ordained he has given assurance of this to all by raising him by raising christ from the dead so he's coming to do a righteous judgment and to fulfill his promise of resurrection in john 6 40 jesus said this is the will of him who sent me that everyone who sees the son and believes in him may have everlasting life and i will raise him up at the last day that's right but now we want we hope you see there's nothing secretive about his return but we want to talk now with what happens to the wicked when christ returns i'll turn that over to you absolutely so obviously the bible is very very clear about not only what happens to the righteous who are alive obviously they're caught up to meet jesus in the air we see that in matthew 24. yeah and you'll see that in just a moment and as shelley will bring that and and project that back out for us again but i want to take us now to a couple of passages just to confirm what the bible teaches about what happens to the wicked first of all if we go to let's go to revelation excuse me matthew no no luke 17. let's go to luke 17 real quick i want to show you here from the scripture what is going to happen to the wicked at the second coming of jesus at the appearing of jesus so this is luke chapter 17 and i actually want to start reading in verse let's start reading in verse 26 i believe it is yes it says and as it was in the days of noah so will it also be in the days of the son of man they ate they drank they married wives they were given in marriage until the day noah entered the ark notice and the flood came and destroyed them oh when it says destroyed them all who's it speaking to it's speaking about the wicked who were left over those who did not enter the ark by faith they did not trust in the word of the lord they did not trust in the warnings that god had preached through through noah they did not trust in that and therefore they were they were representative of the the unrighteous that perished in the flood jesus says just as in the days of noah so so will it also be in the days of the son of man when he comes if you keep reading he also brings up another example he brings up the example of lot and sodom and gomorrah so notice here in verse 28 it says likewise as it was also in the days of lot they ate they drank they bought they sold they planted they built but on the day that lot went out of sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and noticed and they continued on living for a while yes no that's not what it says there it says and it destroyed them all this all happened during these great cataclysmic events and so jesus goes to say right here in verse 30 he says even so will it be in the day when the son of man is revealed now if you read that and you say well ryan that's pertaining to something different you just tie that to what paul writes about over in 2 thessalonians chapter 2 and you start reading verses 1 and 8 when he's talking about the appearing of christ he makes it very clear what would happen to the wicked at the appearing of jesus christ so this is second thessalonians chapter 2 verse 1 and verse 8. paul writes very clearly he says now we beseech you brethren by the coming of our lord jesus christ and by our gathering together unto him so he makes it very clear i'm not going to get into shelley's part but he makes it very clear the saints are going to gather unto him but what about the wicked he says and then shall that wicked be revealed whom the lord shall this is verse this is verse 8 by the way whom the lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and shall there's the same word used from luke we just read and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming when jesus appears in the clouds my friends the righteous are going to stand happy joyful excited praising and they're going to meet the lord in the air and shelley's going to bring out in more clarity in just a moment but the wicked they are destroyed by the brightness of the coming of god the brightness of the glory of god is going to take the breath of life from them and they will be slain at the presence of the lord in that same day you know it's a sad thing to think that people rejected his call they rejected his love and finally divine patience has come to an end and you know jesus is returning so that he may complete the plan of salvation he's executing judgment and you know the truth be told the people who die when he returns the ones who are killed by the sword of his mouth by the brightness of his coming they wouldn't have come to him if he gave him another thousand years but what's beautiful is what happens to the saints in john 5 28-29 jesus says do not marvel at this for the hour is coming in which all who are in their graves will hear my voice and then he says they will come forth those who have done good to the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation i remember reading this to my sister she just she says what do you mean all who are in their graves she she said are you trying to tell me my mother's not in heaven right now but the bible says in daniel 12 that all are sleeping in the dust and here's how he says it daniel 12 2 many who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake some to everlasting life some to shame and everlasting contempt so there's going to be two general resurrections and the resurrection of the righteous is at the point of christ's return but let me tell you something those who are resurrected are not going to precede us who remain alive they're not going to go into his presence before we do god's got a plan where it's going to happen for all of us at the same time let me read this to you one of my favorite passages in the whole bible first corinthians 15 51-55 he says paul's speaking to the corinthians behold i tell you a mystery we shall not all sleep not everybody is going to be in the grave when christ returns but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye that's right when at the last trumpet we just looked that jesus said the tree's coming with the last trumpet the trumpet's going to sound so this is when jesus returns and he says for the trumpet will sound and the dead are going to be raised and corruptible and we shall be changed hallelujah that's right he says this corruptible must put on incorruption a corruptible body can decay but when we get our new bodies they're incorruptible he says this mortal must put on immortality when does that happen the bible always says we are mortal until christ returns and paul says that's when we put on immortality so when this corruption has put on incorruption this mortal has put on immortality then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death is swallowed up in victory oh death where is your sting oh hades that's the grave that's right where is your victory and i just want to add one quick thing here in uh first thessalonians chapter 4 we all know he's going to return with a shout with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet will sound but listen to what paul says just preceding that he says in verse 15 this we say to you by the word of the lord that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the lord will by no mean precede those who are asleep wait a minute some people teach they're up there in heaven dancing around right now and then paul said well you're not going to get to see him before because then he says the dead in christ rise first hallelujah so we if if you're a believer and we look around and we see how prophecy is being fulfilled oh this is an exciting time we're going to soon look up and say oh this is my god we have waited for him but now ryan when when the dead or when the wicked or slain and the unrighteous dead stay in the grave the righteous who are alive and those who are coming up the righteous in the first resurrection they're going to go up into the air to meet jesus what's the condition of the earth at that time absolutely there's several passages in scripture that clearly communicate to us what happens to the earth at the very point that christ returns as shelley made it very clear the righteous are meeting the lord in the air why because they're god's going to take us away to his kingdom where he has a place prepared for us right he says i go away to prepare a place for you that where i am there you may be also we have mansions in heaven waiting for us jesus is coming to get us and we gather to meet him in the air and then the wicked as we just learned a few moments ago the wicked that are left behind alive they're going to be slain at the presence of the lord and so the question is what happens to the earth and i think the reason why this question is relevant and why it's important that we answer this is because you know i grew up shelley you grew up you know hearing this and believing this you know the idea of this pre-tribulation rapture theory and i say that again pre-tribulation rapture theory it's a theory and it's not a proven theory because it can't be backed up by scripture but the idea is is that the rapture and the second coming are two different events rather we know that they're the same event in the sense that jesus only returns once to get his people but the pre-tribulation rapture theory teaches that the rapture happens where god comes and takes the saints that are alive at the time that are righteous and then there's seven years of horrible tribulation and then at the end of the seven years then the second coming of jesus occurs where according to this theory again jesus and the saints return from heaven where they've been the last seven years and those who are you know who have made it through the seven years of tribulation they'll have another opportunity to you know give their heart to jesus and and god's gonna appear at that time and destroy all the wicked and then reign with his people on earth for a thousand years again this is according to the theory it's at the second coming of jesus where he's going to remain on this earth for a thousand years after he comes well we have what we're about to read you're going to see this place is going to be uninhabitable there's no way you can live in these conditions based on what the bible teaches so what is the condition of the earth when jesus appears notice what the bible says here in jeremiah chapter four jeremiah the prophet was given a vision of the second coming of jesus the appearing of the lord and this is what he describes the earth this is jeremiah chapter 4 verses 23 through 26 again jeremiah 4 23-26 he says i beheld the earth and indeed it was without form and void and the heavens and they had no light i beheld the mountains and indeed they trembled does that not also go in harmony with what we read in revelation 6 a few moments ago okay they trembled and the hills moved back and forth there's going to be a great earthquake this world is going to be shaken when jesus returns verse 25 he says i beheld and indeed there was no man now what does he mean by that that means there was no living man what happened to the wicked when when the when the lord returned they were slain what happened to the righteous they're not on this earth because they're going to be with the lord and so in this case there's no living man on this earth that's why he says indeed there was no man and all the birds of the heavens were fled i beheld and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness and all the cities were broken down at the presence of the lord by his fierce anger now you couple that with what isaiah saw the isaiah the prophet saw this in isaiah 24 verses 19 through 22 notice what isaiah saw again he was shown a vision of the coming of the lord and he saw this he says the earth is utterly broken down and by the way if you don't get this i don't know who i don't know how you can miss it because he repeats it over and over what he's talking about he's seeing the earth the earth the earth so notice what he says here the earth is utterly broken down the earth is clean dissolved the earth is moved exceedingly the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard and shall be removed like a cottage and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it and it shall fall and not rise again and it shall come to pass in that day that the lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high and the kings of the earth upon the earth and notice verse 22 this is key this is key here of what we're about to speak about in relation to this thousand years that's going to uh that's going to come after this event verse 22 of isaiah 24 it says and they shall be gathered speaking of the slain the wicked who are slain they shall be gathered together as prisoners are gathered in the pit amen so prisoners like are gathered in a pit and shall be shut up in the prison and after many days notice this after many days we're going to say it's a thousand years because that's exactly what the bible says after many days shall they be visited what jeremiah saw what isaiah saw what we read earlier in revelation chapter 6 when the great men and the mighty men are saying you know let the rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him my friends also go read revelation chapter 16. when you read what happens in that seventh and final plague there is no way in the world anyone is living on this planet for any period of time after the second coming of jesus the earth is completely destroyed and it's it is given a horrible makeover in just a day's time and so we have to understand my friends that jesus takes the saints the wicked are slain and the earth is left inhabitable for 1 000 years amen and you know i'm glad we've used that uninhabitable is what i missed i knew what you meant i didn't catch that um the we're using thousand years because that's what's in the bible now we call it millennium that's fine the word millennium is not in the bible but the thousand years is and we know one thing that satan is still alive during this time because we're going to see in just a moment he is not destroyed until after the second resurrection but let me read what the bible says in revelation 20. it says he laid hold of the dragon that serpent of all who is the devil and satan he bound him for a thousand years he cast him into the bottomless pit this is talking about the earth these are chains of circumstances satan's not going to have anyone to attempt so he's going to be roaming around on a destitute earth for a thousand years and he said listen to this he cast him into the bottomless pit shut him up and set a seal on him so that he should not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished but now after this he will be released for a little while so let's look at what's going on in here that's revelation one through three what you just read there revelation chapter 20 verses one through one three there you go now let's look at revelation 20 and verse four because what's happening for us we who have been resurrected we are going to be in heaven god is going to open all of the books and the saints are going to be reviewing these books listen to this i saw thrones they sat on them and judgment was committed to them in first corinthians 6 2 and 3 paul says do you not know that the saint shall judge the world that's right we're not judging the righteous what we're doing is god's going to open the books because you know what when we get to heaven that thousand years somebody asked me the other day well will we notice that somebody's not there i said yeah we will and there may be why is mama not here and god's going to open the books and show all mamas that's right history and and we will end up by the time we review these books we are going to uh daniel 7 22 said judgment was given to the saints of the most high we will come into absolute agreement and then we pass through the sentence listen to this he said going on in revelation 20 verse 4 i saw the thrones they sat on them this is the righteous judgment was committed to them then i saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to jesus and for the word of god who had not worshipped the beast or his image who had not received the mark on their foreheads or on their hands and they lived and reigned with christ yes for a thousand years amen we're in heaven for a thousand years but the rest of the dead yes did not live again until the thousand years were finished that's right there's two general general resurrections and we're going to see that there's two deaths and then it goes on a parenthetical it says this is the first resurrection this is us up there blessed and holy is he who has pardoned the first resurrection over such the second death has no power they shall be priests of god in the christ and shall reign with him for a thousand years amen that's powerful that is powerful stuff when you think about it now what happens i i believe you know we know that revelation 21 says that there's not going to be any more tears or sorrow i don't know if you agree with this statement but i believe during this thousand years there may be a few of course sorrow yeah chronologically speaking that that uh wiping away of the tears comes after the new earth is created okay and so yeah but here's what i like i was taught growing up i was a very active kid i was go go go i was taught growing up and when you went to heaven you were going to live the rest of your life playing a harp floating around on a cloud i used to think how boring can that be even though i wanted to meet god and jesus i thought how how boring will that be but what happens after the thousand years so the thousand years have come to completion and the very first thing that happens is what we see happening in the opening verses of revelation chapter 21. i'm going to start reading there in verse 2. and notice what john sees this is powerful he says i john saw the holy city the new jerusalem coming down from god out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and i heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of god is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and god himself shall be with them and be their god so immediately when the thousand years have finished satan is in total darkness but i could just imagine for you know there comes that moment when the night light lights up his whole world as he looks off into the distance and he sees this glorified massive huge city 1500 miles by 1500 miles by 1500 huge city ascending down out of heaven from god down on this broken down desolate earth okay and then i could imagine at that moment that the devil says oh time's up now it's my time again in fact you read it earlier revelation 20 verse 5 it says but the rest of the dead live not again into the thousand years were finished this is what shelley talked about earlier as the resurrection of damnation remember john chapter 5 verses 28 and 29 there's the resurrection of life that happens at the beginning of the thousand years now we're at the end of the thousand years this is the resurrection of damnation all of those that were wicked that died at the second coming of jesus and that have ever lived since the beginning of time from cain all the way forward is now going to be resurrected from the grave and you could just imagine that the devil now starts back at his work amen hey guys look look at that look off in the distance do you see that bright light that's the new city that's our city and there's someone in it they don't belong there let's go take it for ourselves because there's a whole lot more of us than there are of them and so the bible actually goes on to talk about how they move toward the city and they actually encamp around the city to try to take the city but then something happens before this this occurs so let's go to revelation chapter 20 verse 7 let's read what verse 7 actually has to say it says now when the thousand years have expired satan will be released from his prison of course this is a prison of circumstances for a thousand years he's had no one to bother no one to tempt no one to torture no one to lie to no one to manipulate he's been just him and his minions him and his demons but now all that the wicked have been resurrected now he's loosed from that prison his circumstances have changed and he's right back to old business again and so it says there in verse 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are on the four corners of the earth gog and magog to gather them together to battle whose number is as the sand of the sea now this gog and magog don't get too confused this is a representative language of the enemies of god okay these are the people who did not when you go back to the old testament those who were from gog and magog they were enemies of jerusalem they were enemies of the children of israel so it's simply representative of all the wicked who are against god who did not accept jesus who are not a part of that righteous group who are on the inside of the city but then notice what continues to happen verse 9 then they went up on the breath of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city and then here my friends is what the bible refers to as hell fire this is hell about what we're about to read about notice what it says and fire came down from god out of heaven and devoured them amen it doesn't burn them for ceaseless ages to infinity and beyond it says it comes down out of god from heaven and it devoured them and what does verse 10 say the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever of course we know that forever and ever has a definite time it happens until the fires have served its purpose to destroy and to burn out the stubble of the wickedness of sin i'm going to stop there and let you have it from here that's a lot you know what to talk about and we're just going to back it up a little bit because it's kind of like this is what's going on but here's the point every i will see him every tongue will confess that jesus says lord every knee is going to end up bowing to him because there is going to be a great white throne judgment let me read to you verse revelation 20 verse 11. he says i saw a great white throne him who sat on it from from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away and there was found no place for them and i saw the dead small and grapes standing before god books were opened and another book was opened which is the book of life and the dead were judged according to their works by the things were written in the books and the sea gave up the dead which were in it death and hades delivered up the death and they were judged according to their works then death in hades this is the grape i mean this is representing all those wicked or cast into the lake of fire that's right listen to what the bible says revelation 20 verse 14. they were cast into the lake of fire this is the second death we're all destined to die once that's right but if you are alive when christ returns you don't even have to i mean there's you won't even die once but the dead who are slain at his coming are going to be resurrected and there's going to be a second death and it says not ever ever it says everyone who's not found written this is verse 15. revelation 20 15. everyone who's not written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire that second death i want to give you just a couple more scriptures jesus said in revelation 2 11. he who has near let him hear what the spirit says to the churches he who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death yes then he says in revelation 20 and verse 6. blessed and holy is he who has the part in the first resurrection over such the second death has no power but they shall be priest of god and shall reign with him a thousand years then we just saw that when the lake of fire god destroyed this world with a lake of water during the flood that was the first the second time when he rains down fire and brimstone this will this earth will be a lake of fire and then he says in revelation 21 7-8 he who overcomes shall inherit all things i'll be his god he shall be my son and this cowardly the unbelieving the abominable the murderous sexually immoral sorcerers idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with firing brimstone which is the second death now malachi makes it so clear that the day of the lord is coming that shall burn like an oven malachi 4 and verse 1 and it says all the proud yea all who do wickedly will be stubble that fire is unquenchable until it's until its purpose has been fulfilled and it says it's going to see the day which is coming shall burn them up that will lead them neither root nor branch and then he says in verse 3 you shall trample the wicked for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that i do this says the lord so now he's going to create a new heaven and a new earth right in front of us that's right you know what's powerful about that last point you just made a lot of people will it's hard for them to hear what we're saying because because we're being very clear let's be very candid here my friends no one is burning in hell today there is not a hell that is burning now where people for ceaseless ages and centuries past have been burning and burning and burning what we're reading here is that god lights this old world up in the very end of time before he recreates the new earth he lights this world up and it becomes a giant lake of fire to to deal with the sin in fact it shouldn't surprise us because even jesus himself when he told the parable of the wheat and the tares and he's talked about the wheat obviously representing the righteous and of course the tares representing the wicked and notice what he says in matthew 13 verse 40 talking about the tares he says as therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire so shall it be in the end of this world when is the end of this world it's it's the end of the thousand years what we're describing here it's not at the second coming of jesus but it's a thousand years later at the end of the thousand years that is the end of this world right here and then of course we have the new heaven and the new earth that god is going to going to create and that's verse 1 of chapter 21 revelation chapter 21 verse 1. i love this he says now i saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away also there was no more sea it's going to be so amazing that we who are who are righteous on the inside of that city we're going to be able to physically see god speak this world this new heaven and this new earth into existence just as he did shelly at the very beginning amen sin and suffering will come to an end hallelujah that's right you know jesus has saved us from the penalty of sin by justifying us by grace he is gonna or he has saved us from the power of sin sanctification by grace but he's gonna save us from the presence of sin and i love what peter said in second peter 3 13 according to his promise we're looking for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells we're going to come back in just a second for a closing thought please stay with us you know i can't help but get animated when i think of these wonderful promises and what god's plan is of course ryan do you have a final thought oh man you know hellfire it was never god's plan or his his will for hellfire to be kindled for people god loves his people and he wants to save his people and that attitude of love is expressed in ezekiel 33 verse 11. it says as i live saith the lord god yes i have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and live and you can hear the heart of the father as he says turn ye turn you from your evil ways for why will you die my friends turn to jesus today and hell is not meant for you you're not meant for hell you are meant to live with your creator forevermore amen i love revelation 19 9 it said blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the lamb you are called jesus is calling you even now he says behold i stand at the door and knock he wants to come into your life he wants you to open your heart and allow him to love you and paul says it best when he told the corinthians in second corinthians 6 2. he says in an acceptable time this is god talking i have heard you and in the day of salvation i have helped you and then paul sums it up and said behold now is the accepted time that's right now is the day of salvation we pray that you will reach out to the lord and say i want to be at the marriage supper of the lamb our prayer for you is that the grace of our lord and savior jesus christ the love of the father and the fellowship of the holy spirit will be with you always [Music] [Music] you
