hello blender nerds bite Dozer here coming to you from Silicon Valley where it's currently about 5,000 degrees I can't run my AC while I'm recording so I'm going to keep this one short and to the point being a senior artist isn't just about having good topology or making photo Real Models it's also about knowing the best and fastest ways to do things in your software so here's five things you can do that'll make you model like a senior number one offset edges extrude if you're struggling with offsetting the edges of your mesh and you can't get decent results go to the add-ons menu enable edit mesh tools then select your border use CR e to bring up the edge menu and use offset edges extrude the tool has options to create an offset Loop without extruding or offset the original Edge you can also sit the angle of the Extrusion and it can even work with the mirror modifier making baseboards or complex arches and doorways can be a pain but it doesn't have to be don't extrude or bevel each part of the shape instead grab the edge bevel it then go down into the bevel modal menu that's what these little popovers are called and set the profile type to custom then you can draw a curve that is any profile you want and your bevel will take that shape number three grid fill instead of wasting time filling a loop by hand make sure you've got an even number of sides and use grid fill to fill the entire area at once you can also use this as a modeling technique by building the edge outlines of your model and then grid filling them to get the piece that you're trying to make number four Bridge Edge Loops don't fill between two Loop Loops one face at a time instead select both loops and use the bridge Edge Loops tool to fill between them you can also alternatively select two faces and use Bridge Edge loops and it will actually delete the internal faces so your topology is still correct number five making pipes using vertices bevels and curves don't spend an hour trying and failing to make pipes using cylinders spins or bevels instead add a single vert extrude it into the shape of your pipe Network then grab the corners that you want to be rounded use control shift B to Bevel the vertices grab the object convert it to a curve add beveling to make it solid adjust the divisions until you have the level of detail you want then convert it back to a mesh if you found this helpful consider throwing a like my way and subscribing so you don't miss the next one I got a bunch of these planned on topics everywhere from absolute beginner to much more advanced users stuff that requires a little bit of code even so yeah stay tuned that's it for this one and remember never stop learning
