with something more Whimsical like Zar or strongman and head back to your head headquarters to plan for what's coming tomorrow night why what are we going to do tomorrow night the same thing we do every night pinky try to take over the world Conquest is such a harsh word it makes me think of burning Villages and stealing lands and short guys and funny hats isn't it really just a forcible acquisition and aggressive expansion and optional Capital relinquishment and by optional I mean mandatory and by capital I mean like the capital but does vanquishing petty Nation after Petty Nation really make you the bad guy I mean weren't those peasants just wasting their time with their goods and their gold and their freedom but what makes somebody decide one day to become a conquest Paladin isn't it a little bit insane to think that you have the right to March into a throne room and topple the head of government you see being a paladin has nothing to do with what's right or what's wrong or even what's rational or irrational and everything to do with how committed you are to whatever cause you chose so if you combine a lack of mental stability with an overinflated ego you end up with you know how to run the world better than those stupid egg heads I mean it makes sense look at us we're strong handsome charismatic what do they have logic reason science get the out of here if I wanted thought put into ruling a country I wouldn't have turned to religion so that's why we start out as a paladin now to be clear a Paladin's oath doesn't necessarily have to involve a God but many take their Oaths so seriously it basically becomes its own theology as such you develop a Divine sense that allows you to detect your enemies as long as they happen to be Celestial fiend are Undead within 60 ft of you and while you're not known for being the nicest guy there are often times when an ally whatever those are can get you to your goal much faster so if they start looking a little rough you can top off their hit points with some Layon hands this is a pull of hit points equal to five times your Paladin level that you can hand off in any amount you want but if you dump five at a time you can also neutralize a disease or poison being the new leader of an army occupying territory it may or may not be allowed to hold is dangerous work and this lets you ensure that your death is at the hands of an arch rival and not stuffed inside of a ravioli but at second level if we're going to be fighting all the time we better make sure to pick up a fighting style great weapon fighting fits this archetype so well making you a terror on the battlefield with your giant axe sword or axe sword but I can see an argument for defense or dueling for those who'd rather take a shield with them as well just make sure you put a mean scary face on the front so everybody knows who's the new King in town speaking of divine ordainment the gods or our oath or whatever gives us that magic juice has seen fitting to let us lay down our righteous Fury in a devastating SP this allows us to add two gorgeous d8s to any attack we land by expending a spell slot at the moment of contact and for those thinking of using a fiend or Undead to try to take us out well they can get an extra de8 on top of that just for being so stupid but you know how they say the good ones Die Young and the bad ones live forever well what does that tell you now that we're immune to disease at third level and since you no longer have to worry about outside forces taking you out you can focus all that Menace into your true calling this lets you exude your sheer malice as a conquering presence now as an action you can scare the [ __ ] out of any creatures that dare Challen Cheng your awesome might and make them fear you for a minute if they fail the wisdom save essentially letting you Thug walk through a battlefield while you make the bad guys wish they'd ski Tikka marcala Tuesday the night before but as much fun as being the baddest dude in the room is sometimes you need to end a fight quickly to stay at the top of your game that's why your other ability guided strike comes in clutch as it lets you add a straight 10 to any attack roll you make most likely turning a Miss into a hit unfortunately we can only Channel Divinity once per short rest but this gives you ample opportunity to finish a fight quick with a heavy hit and a huge but as fun as smiting is I do have to eventually talk about some spells luckily you get cool ones like command to force a creature to follow an order you make like Drop sit fall or run and spin their action doing that on their turn you can only say a one-word action but getting created with commands like strip to make them lose their armor or contemplate to make them question their existence may have more interesting consequences than your average uses but you also get the armor of agius this is a fun spell that gives you temporary hit points equal to five times the spell slot you used and whenever you take damage the enemy takes that full spell amount back as cold damage so if you cast this at fourth level to give yourself 20 hit points and the creature hits you for one damage they still take 20 and will do so every time they hit you until you run out of temporary HP letting your already tanky Paladin eat a bunch of hits and just keep the damage coming at fifth level we get that always welcome always excellent extra attack for more chances to hit and more Chan just to but we also get two new Paladin spells first up is hold person and seriously we the writers of this just trying to make Darth Vader cuz this spell lets you do that crazy choke hold thing Darth is known for making the enemy make a wisdom save or be paralyzed for the duration and causing all melee ATT tanks to both be at advantage and automatic Critical Hits which is just fine for us because we love stacking dice more than those kids with the cups but we also get spiritual weapon to spend a bonus action creating a spectral floating weapon of our choice that can attack and move on its own Conquering the world is often a lonely job so it's nice to know that we have backup in case our last backup stabbed you in the back up anyway at sixth level we get the aura of protection to add our Charisma modifier to all saving throws for us and any allies whatever those are within 10 ft which is great for us and I guess those were supposed to keep alive but at seventh level we also get the aura of Conquest now we're talking making every frightened creature within that 10-ft aura completely immobile and for to take psychic damage equal to half our Paladin level until they shake the effect this pairs incredibly well with our conquering presence letting us scare them snare them and utterly despair them when the plebians get too close and that becomes even easier at Ninth level when we pick up fear this does exactly what you think but in a 30ft cone instead and allows you to possibly hit more targets so you can trap them in your aura we also get bestow curse which allows you to curse a creature and induce a variety of effects but the funnest part of this spell is that it also lets you make up your own curse to confuse the DM when you force your opponent to eject a monkey from their hind quarters and watch the DM try to figure out a check for that anyway moving on we picked up the aura of Courage at 10th level to make sure our allies whatever those are can never be frightened while in your aura and at 11th level we get improved Divine Smite which makes no sense and has nothing to do with Divine smites but instead adds a d8 of radiant damage to all your melee attacks so I guess no one gets left down when it comes to tasting a little bit of that Divine Fury and at 13th level we grab Stone skin to give us resistance to non-magical slashing piercing and budgeting damage for an hour though like every enemy at this level has some sort of magical weapon so unless you're jumping off a building or planning on pissing off a rhino you're probably going to get more use out of dominate Beast that way you can instead tell that Rhino to trample through an enemy stronghold as long as they fail the Save which they probably will right how wise is a rhino oh wiser than most warlocks actually but bouncing up to 14th level we get the cleansing touch letting us in the effect of a spell on us or a creature we can reach which is just funny did they think they could try to control us trap us nah you done fed up especially if they actually make contact with you your scornful rebuke at 15th level essentially just extends your frightening Aura immediately to any creature that attacks you forcing them to take more psychic damage equal to your charisma modif fire which is what these peasants get do you know how expensive it is to get custom scary armor who are they to mess up our style we have multiple countries to conquer but finally at 17th level we get our last two Paladin spells with Cloud kill to send a 20 foot wide poisonous Cloud through an army and probably take out at least the weaker Soldiers with a nasty 5da poison damage on a failed safe but we also pick up dominate person if there were any spell a conqueror needs it's this one as long as the enemy is actually a person and not a monster of some sort you can make a whiny cook fetch your dinner or an approaching enemy hurl themselves off a bridge or Force the king of a soon Tobe conquered Nation to bend the knee and officially make you the true ruler but it's our Capstone where we become the Invincible conqueror now this is a 20th level Capstone you immediately gain resistance to all incoming damage you can make an additional attack on your action and your melee attacks hit a critty on a 19 or a 20 and since the only thing left to challenge your rule are literal Gods this lets you walk up directly to their face and lay down the nastiest Divine of them all so does the conquest Paladin completely dominate Mark me down as scared and horny this is the kind of dope [ __ ] we've been wanting from the shamans of the sea line this whole damn time it's got everything power flavor style flare and a built-in motivation from the start I don't even think this subass has meant as much for players as it is for DMs I mean this dude just screams big bad evil guy right hell haven't start out as an adventurer who fought his way up through the ranks and became a conqueror I mean come on man this stuff writes itself not to mention all the fear effect combos you can pull off with this sub I don't get to say this often but this barely feels like a subass it feels like a boss fight and while I think you'd have fun multiclassing with things like hex blade or Shadow sorcerer why would you you've already got all the good stuff you need to be a tanky Powerhouse that rips through hordes of enemies and fills the hearts minds and unders with fear at the mere mention of your might you are a steamroller a Titan an unrelenting force of Nature and those in your path need to either start changing their ways or changing their names so if you see a castle and immediately start salivating are still trying to figure out how to make the band playing your theme music portable so you can do some petrifying on the go and can't think of a reason to cast a spell when it's much more terrifying to just guess what you might be a conquest Palace it hey everybody if you made it this far thanks for watching if you like this video and know somebody
