hey have you ever wanted to combine some new age worship with some Old Testament brutality is every Flex of your outstanding musculature nothing short of Godly where the beo oh Ain got something drums came in you ain't see that coming hands on my head can't tell me nothing got a taste of the fame and a my stomach well congratulations you might be a zealot Barbarian but what is a zealot Barbarian well take your place in the base section of the choir make sure your religion's dietary restrictions don't exclude beef and get ready to crush the non-believers because we've come to spread the glory of the [Music] Gods sometimes things just go together peanut butter and jelly cookies and milk religion and angry lunatics I may have lost a few of you on that one but it makes sense if you think about it if you want a religion filled to the brim with righteous Fury no one brings the fury quite like a barbarian and the righteous quite like well yeah so that's a wrap huh just take the rage monkey slap some robes on him let him pretend he read the holy book and point him in the direction of the nearest blasphemer Simple right no you see what may appear at first to be a paladin re skin with less armor a copy of religion for dummies and an anger management problem turns out to be so Unstoppable that even death can't quell Your Righteous Rampage in short whenever you're in a mood for the field guide to Floral dragons for sponsoring the show and now back to the video so you want to be so devoted you can guarantee bad guys are about to get smoted wait well whatever we're a barbarian and fancy words aren't our strong suit anyway instead we specialize in that complex combat art of running directly into The Fray no matter the danger luckily we get access to ra two half all slashing piercing and blooding damage when not wearing in heavy armor giving you advantage on strength checks and saves and adding extra damage to melee attacks while going ballistic and while your God may be fine losing pieces of their blood and body you aren't quite able to take that much punishment so to compensate we get unarmored defense to make your AC equal to your decks and kons when fighting in your birthday suit because if you came into this world's sun and cheeks you might as well meet your maker the same way at second level we get danger sense to give yourself advantage on Deck saves against traps and spells you can see so you can dodge the damage on a nasty Fireball or stay far far away from birth are better than use cream corn casserole with the church's potlock and we also can attack recklessly with Reckless attack to give ourselves advantage on attacks as long as we can handle all enemies having advantage to hit us but we don't need to worry ourselves with that our God knows exactly when they're going to call us home and it'll take more than some non-believers to take us down but at third level we become much more than your average acolyte something inside us has changed we've shaking off our Pagan ways accepted the light of our chosen deity and become a true Zealot maybe it was the red hot p you showed during raging or all that speaking in tongues and dancing with snakes but something has impressed some God enough that they lend you a hefty helping of divine Fury now every time you enter a rage the first attack on each turn is jam-packed full of the good stuff and Deals an extra D6 plus half your Barbarian Level of necrotic or radiant damage with this new Boost and strength our goal in every fight is to charge down anybody looking at you sideways all while screaming don't [ __ ] with me I have the power of God and Anime on my side wait but the gods are fix in who they choose to support and who they choose to cast down so interestingly your God will probably be the one closest in ideals to the thing you wanted to do all along religion is funny that way so whether you want to take down the temples of a rival theology or somehow have a beef with an entire Pantheon there will probably be a god out there willing to back you up which also means we're a warrior of the Gods and as such no longer need material components to be revived with spells like revivify or raise dead saving the cleric a trip to the diamond shop if some lucky shot was able to kill us in a fight and Primal knowledge for some extra skill proficiencies as we level up at fifth level we get extra attack to improve our chances of laying down that Divine fury fast movement to increase our movement speed by 10 ft while not wearing heavy armor and fanatical focus at six level for one free reroll on a saving throw while raging and since you can use this once per rage it just goes to show that we always got someone looking out for us at seventh level you pick up feral Instinct and instinctive pounce so we can never be surprised and can move half your movement speed as a part of the bonus action you use to enter a rage allowing you to make sure no one can get the drop on the party and always come out swinging when under threat and Ninth level barbarians mean [ __ ] gets real with some nasty brutal critical di so Nat 20 is get an extra dice increasing to two and three more at levels 13 and 17 but we're here for zealous Presence at level 10 letting you inspire up to 10 creatures within 60 ft of you with your blessed temper tantrum and give them advantage on all attacks and saving throws until the start of your next turn and since you can belt this fearsome battlecry as a bonus action you gain all the benefits from it as well doubling your chance to crit and shredding bad guys with that consistent holy damage squir self church and at sleepy little town of P goua it was a fight for survival that broke out in reviv Hallelujah and as if the next three abilities were crafted by the gods themselves you basically become an unkillable nightmare for any foe who made the mistake of calling your God a shart instead of sh starting with Relentless rage now instead of going unconscious at zero hit points you instead make a dc10 constitution saving throw and drop to one instead and you can repeat this save on subsequent hits as the DC increases by five each time but that won't matter for long because our level 14 ability rage Beyond Death lets you keep fighting even on the verge of utter Annihilation now instead of falling unconscious after eventually failing the saving throw you just don't that's it you still take death saves as normal and you can even die while in this state but you don't actually go down until your rage ends if after that you've lost all your death saves you will actually die but if your party is there to back you up and sends a healing word before you fall out of rage you can shake off death like it didn't even happen which brings me to our final ability in that Trio making it even easier to maintain that persistent rage so that you only drop out if you choose to or fall unconscious but since we can't actually fall unconscious while raging we're pretty much invincible at least for a minute and just let those nerds sit there and count stupid [ __ ] like hit points or death saves why would any of that matter to us when there's enemies to Sunder and new converts to inspire but closing us out we get indomitable mind at 18th level so the lowest we can roll on a strength check is equal to our strength score and Primal champion at 20th level to permanently increase your strength in Constitution modifiers by four each to a Max of 24 for the most praiseworthy pectorals Godly glutes and divine deltoids you can imagine but is the zeala Barbarian worthy of the Gods I don't know about all that but it's pretty godamn good one of the best things about this subass is that it not only does what it sets out to do but it also doesn't over complicate things with too much stuff part of the fun of the Barbarian in the first place is how combat focused you are so having a subass that can deal solid damage on top of being super hard to take out is both a dream for the player and a pain in the ass for the DM the Zealot also plays into its central idea without pushing you too far into a particular mindset when it comes to roleplay for your character as tempting as it may be to make a zealot just a dumber Paladin you really have the freedom for your Barbarian to be prog good anti-god or anything in between which is nice considering some of the more religious-based classes often send you down One path or another options are always a good thing and the fact that the Zealot is clear enough mechanically while being vague enough for character stuff is surprisingly well done whether that was intentional or not but best of all the Zealot is just fun extra damage is always good and the fact that you can add straight numbers instead of rolling pairs insanely well with Feats Lake great weapon Master letting you go absolutely apeshit on damage output but even without any of that the Zealot makes one of the best tanks in the game period as you basically Chuck hit points out the window after level 14 so if you make it that far see if you can take on a teras or something you've literally got the power of the Gods nothing will go wrong I promise so if your Barbarian is literally too angry to die you've ever been told to stop getting into bar fights while on a mission trip and you're pretty sure you'll get around reading that Holy text as soon as you learn how to read guess what you might be a zealot Barbarian hey guys if you made it this far you're incredible and I can't thank
