Yard Kart Racing Head to Head | 200cc vs. 212cc

what is going on guys in today's video we are doing something we've been meaning to do for a long time that is built 212 versus five speed 200 as well as starting the uh cars and cameras grand prix leaderboard how do you how do you like that i like that yeah so you know how in top gear how whenever they review a car they also race around their track and then they have a leaderboard of times we're gonna do that with all of our projects and we're gonna start with these two since we're back here in the shed guys let us know if there's a project you want to see us revive let us know which one you want to see we got the black widow we got 50 go-kart rat rod wagon murray all-wheel drive go-kart american express uh subaru or the motovbox moto box monster moto monster motor monster moto and the moto box yup and the lawn mower so lots to choose from folks yeah let us know but this is the one we're digging out today this go-kart hasn't run in so long because we robbed the carburetor and put it on something else so we're going to be putting a brand new mikuni 22-millimeter carburetor on it from go power sports to make it run and this is the go-kart i did 72 miles an hour on it's stage two it's got a lot of head work done uh ike is gonna be putting a much larger rear sprocket on it to gear it more for the yard and i'm gonna do the same i need to put a larger sprocket on my 200 as well so i'm you know so i can have some fun shifting and stuff when we race around the yard just like the good old days so now i'm installing this 22 millimeter makuni carburetor kit from sports thank you go power sports got the adapter cable filter and hardware i uh ported this head just a tad bit bigger than the gasket opening so when the fuel goes in it has kind of a ramp rather than hitting a wall it actually goes in and will kind of drop down nice and you kind of compress the spring down while holding the cable you hook it up right there let go of the spring you find the notch and you install tighten down the cap all right i just wanted to show you all the difference between the 53 tooth sprocket that i just removed off of this go kart and i am installing a 64 tooth now this is used but you can also get this at go powersports yep that's going to give you a lot more pull ice cart is together his chain is on his new carburetor is on mine has been ready uh we're gonna take a minute and tell you about the cars and cameras grand prix for you long time viewers you know we used to love to rip our race carts around this yard there are a few reasons why we stopped doing it come the fall winter and spring it is just too wet in that part of the yard and in that part of the yard to run through here it just turns into basically a giant puddle so the summer months are the only time we can run this circuit second reason you probably can't tell but there are some gnarly roots coming out of these trees around some of these corners this is a really fun circuit but it puts a hurtin on these race carts that are that far off the ground and have zero suspension travel and finally the third most important reason this property belongs to my parents they don't like the yard getting torn up but it's been a few years since we've been out here running i don't think they're gonna mind a couple laps we're gonna start with qualifying laps and those are gonna be the first two entries on the cars and cameras grand prix leaderboard and to make things interesting we're going to make fastest qualifying time start second right sounds good okay [Music] nice brand new carburetor two laps ready set go what do you think leroy what do you think buddy yeah that cart is still set up for speed [Applause] boy [Music] you are spraying oil everywhere tube came off i also lost a chain yep i hit some really gnarly routes so we need to switch up our track and i felt like i thought to myself it felt like the engine hit yeah i bet you it knocked it backwards this is rough no this is not gonna go well guys this but this button is bad it's too rough for this thing man it does not like it at all hmm so i might have a chance yeah you probably do have a chance if we can't get five laps out of these things we need to build some like yard racing race cars out here i got my american express yeah so i need one [Music] wow no i clutched it took so it doesn't like the bumps not at all i wonder what's going on it's like breaking up and stuff a lot i think it's done dog you're done killed the battery so we're gonna charge up the battery and then we're both gonna line up and go yeah forget qualifying yeah we're just gonna do it last person last person running we're both we're both breaking down i doubt either of us are gonna get five left you really look fast out there too fast i don't think i have a chance well i stalled three times yeah i need a bigger gear on here because even first is too tall sometimes so come on crap this is embarrassing shoot so what was that no no not again come on well oh i think i'm done i'm done i'm done i may not win but i can finish let's do it i think i i think that was good but i gotta make one more just for the heck of it oh so no that tree that was good oh wow am i really leaking that much oil don't wreck my bike john chickens all right i mean look at all the hole there is fair dog yeah you done you painted the driveway dude we i almost hit some chickens i don't know about you dude uh congratulations i gotta say yeah right here put it there yeah uh you're the fastest today you may be out of oil but it's just weight reduction is all it is that's right yeah i'll charge my battery you can set a time and then hopefully by then my battery will be charged and i can set a time we'll see who's the fastest i mean you won don't get me wrong i'm not gonna take that away from you you know you know but then we can see who's fastest like time trial if i can keep the darn thing running i i don't know how fast we used to go dude but that was real fast oh i got drugs in your mouth that was a 33.95 man wow i don't think we've ever been around i don't think we have either okay so let me write that on the board and i'll hop on and try to do a lap without installing it yep i think he stalled [Laughter] tick-tock john are you ready mark get set [Music] you see it all right it's going to be slow isn't it turn off the fuel hole watch your arm on the exhaust yeah all right how do you feel buddy uh i want another go you had two well i mean i i need i want to switch the sprocket how about we both switch sprockets when we both give it another go okay because mine was bogging pretty bad there okay that's fine three seconds worth i don't know but it responds a lot man three seconds a lot um congrats dude thanks man that much faster so we raced the cars and cameras grand prix for the first time in like probably a year and a half or something like that it was a riot dude it was so much fun everything's breaking everything is breaking and you know what i thought of like what if we like took these and we each had a teammate and we did like a 50 lap race just knowing that they break every two laps and we had like a teammate with a little toolbox who would run around and help us out dude i'd be totally down with it i'm gonna try to take care of some of these roots around here uh so we don't have to be as careful about like knocking chains off and stuff once i do that i think it's gonna be a pretty nice little circuit the first two entries we need like a sweet like graphic up on the screen for the cars and cameras uh gp leaderboard but right now we have ike with his stage 2 212 margay chassis with a 33.95 and john with the 200 life fan uh five speed uh with a 36 38 now i really want to re re-gear mine you need to re-gear yours too and i'd like to try it again you're still going to be faster i think let us know what project you want to see next on the cars and cameras gp i figured you know we got the road boss here might as well see and lay down like a baseline for what like just a stock yard cart will do also we could always do like performance mods to it remove the governor and stage one
