hey guys and welcome to this video so today I'm going to show you some add-ons of macros and weak auras that I personally use on my Mage in ref when it comes to raiding if you see something in here that you like and that makes sense to you feel free to pick it and implement it into your own gameplay I will link everything in the description down below and maybe you find something useful that will help improve the performance in a raid so with that being said let's get right into it add-ons so add-ons in WoW have a history no let's not start that um so what you want to use as a mage in Wrath classic I'll give you a couple add-ons that you might want to use or pretty much have to use in a sense so for rating deadly Boss Mod or bigwigs are the essentials um they tell you what's going on during a fight you can use one of the other um they both do the same job it's personal preference right now I'm using dbm I had I used big wigs I I can tell the difference so whatever you prefer more whatever customized options you prefer more pick one and go with it for this whole UI look I just go over it briefly because like getting asked that questions a lot um I like things simple so as you can see for my map for example it's called basic minimap it's super small and you can make this map red green blue you can make it a circle you can make it bigger and smaller as you can see I can drag it around what I like about it most though is if I go away from it all my add-on icons are hidden and it just shows me the time and the map itself so it keeps things clean and simple for the UI itself and the action bars and everything I use lofty UI classic liatrix plus and leatrix maps it just gives this whole like dark background ish to everything um it hides the Griffons on the left and right side and it has this like gritty darker look which I like for the latex Maps add-on as you can see you can make the map also smaller and bigger it shows you the coordinates of your player and your cursor you can zoom in and out flexible and easy leotrix plus I like it because it really does everything that those other add-ons like LPI and and you know those whole big like UI add-ons I don't like those because they they are first of all they are huge in size meaning like the memory usage and everything and there's a lot of potential for errors and that's what I don't like so I prefer these small you know combinations of little add-ons that make the whole package and this again has so many options you can automate everything pretty much you can drag stuff around for example my tooltip right here if I hover over this grant Master training dummy you can see my tooltip right in the middle of it and I can drag it back um you can customize your chat the way you like so a lot to it yet it's so small and really I prefer it that way so for my name plates I use plater it's I think the profile from Channel um it's a PVP profile and I would not recommend using it because it's super simple and not really tailored to what many classes um you can see there's nothing on it no text or anything it's just the health bar and if I were a DOT class if I would be putting up leads and debuffs it would show me only those and that's pretty much it it's super minimalistic I like it that way I'm a mage I don't need to be you know seeing 50 different things so that's why I use it then I have two add-ons I want to talk about here is OPI and spell activation overlay so spell activation overlay um it shows you all the products you get so I'm an arcan Mage right now and my missile baras just broke so it shows me those two indicators and I can use it if I would be fire it would show me my hot streaks if I would be frost it would show me my brain freeze and my Iceland's procs so a good uh you know a good way to show you that you proc uh just uh happened and you can use it and then I use Opie which in my opinion is the best add-on ever made I don't know why not many people use it because I don't see many people using it and if you think about it right now I'm pressing one button and I have all these abilities covered and I could I could put 50 abilities on that ring right but I have I press one button and I hover over an ability and it cast it immediately there's no delay to it you can do it on the Fly you can do it mid combat and super customizable I have my portals here I have my you know all the little things like my professions and my Buffs are right here and they just clean up space for my action bars really that's the main reason then we have uh obviously weak auras which we will get to in a second and the way I decrease is by using the cursive I know a lot of Majors use Mouse over macros and they use like specific raid frame add-ons I use the cursive um you know it blinks up I click on it and I decrease that person obviously detailed Damage Done healing done it shows you what you die to you can check your interrupts you can check your fret um yeah details really really good and then lastly I have this add-on right here which is called tell me when you don't need it because weak auras will do the job I like it for the simple reason that it swaps with my specs so as you can see I'm an RK MH right now and I'm tracking the cooldown of Arcane power but I'm also on this little window I'm tracking deep freeze and blast wave so if I would be swapping specs right now and I would go first it would show me my deep freeze if I would go fire it would show me my blast wave on presence of mind I also track cold snap and dragon's breath and it would swap to those and track those cooldowns if I would be swapping specs uh I like the flexibility again and that's why I use it and that's pretty much for all the add-ons that I use and that I think people need or that are essential if you want to rate on a mage in rev classic and with that said let's get into the rigors [Music] so weak auras weak hours for a mage in Wrath classic here are a couple that you can use and that I suggest you are using the big one that got really popular in graph is Murphy's equipped items and it tracks all the procs and cooldowns and internal cooldowns of the gear that you have on you so you can see my rocket boots my unused gloves I'm a tailor so I have lightweave and Brody on my cloak and my two trinkets if I start casting and something procs it will light up and show me hey okay your trinket product your your cloak product and uh that way I can see uh you know I can see the uh the cooldown and after the duration expired right now it shows me okay the internal cooldown of the Trinkets and when they can't proc again you know they're not gonna guarantee proc but when they can proc again if I use my rocket boots same thing here you can see it glows up I have two seconds left one second left and it's gone and in two minutes and 50 seconds I can use them again pretty good stuff I have Mage cooldowns not necessarily it just tracks the duration of not only your Mage cooldowns but beneficial Buffs if I get bobbed if I get pied you can see it shows the duration of those then for the upcoming content for aldua right now on PTR we are using mervin's tier 8 rate hours although I happens to be pretty challenging at least some encounters and this week Aura will greatly help you uh defeating those bosses I feel like then we have Focus Magic if you enter a rate and you are in a rate group this will be annoying in front of your screen unless you buff somebody else with Focus matching so to not forget to buff your fellow casters I have a pi tracker right here I barely get pied if I happen to get pied it will show me who behind me and the duration of that pi then I have the loss of control alert from TBC still um a lot of people use that back then it's pretty much mimicking the retail Behavior where on retail if you get cheap they're stunned right on top of your character you can see the duration of what effect is affecting you right now and this pretty much mimics uh mimics that this innovate recover is really really good and I suggest you guys using it um you can see add this into a macro to call for innovate so you would copy this one put it in a macro and keybind it and you have one button for all your Druids so for example if you had two Druids you would put the names in here and you would press enter and you put a second root name in here and press enter and the one on Entry one will be the drill that gets whispered first if this root for for any reason has integrate on cooldown it would automatically whisper the second root so the the weak Aura knows when stuff is on cooldown and stuff so really really good one button for all the inner weights then I have this clear casting one I made it myself because I feel like these Majors sometimes I see Mages using like clear casting weak hours where there's like this big freaking you know indicator like this one but even a bigger one for Clear casting where I don't think it's necessary this this one just has a little icon over my head and if I have clear casting it gives a little thing and shows me that okay your next cast is free I can blast debuff again just a little weak aura that tracks your Arcane blast debuff so I have it right in front of me rather than on the top right and I don't have to look all over my screen to find my debuffs do we have anything else in here I don't think there is much else I have this meta manager which if I start casting and I get to you know 70 Mana it will show me hey you can use a gem you can use the Mana pod if I go down below to 20 it suggests me to use you know evocation or ask phone inner weight so it's flexible in that sense because it goes with your Mana bar and the amount of Mana you have really really useful those are all the weak arrows that I currently use then again you can see my UI is pretty basic and simple there are weak auras and those are the pretty popular ones like for example not close for example this one right here which is Lux toss magewigora they are those speakers are super like so many classes use these records where you have like this compact compact bar with like major abilities Casper resource bar right below you and right in front of you so action bars are not needed in in a sense right uh I just don't like using them it's just a personal preference but if you wanna if you're only PVE and that's also a reason I don't use them because I sometimes PVP and I don't like having this if you only PV PVE um and you want to go you know hard and and want to be you know Min maxing I think those three girls are the way to go because it's just super fast info right in front of your screen and you know the top top people uh use those types of Records so highly suggest using those and that's all there is for weakers I feel like um at least for my part if you know any weak auras that you know help a fellow Mage out feel free to mention them down in the comments below and we are going with that into the macro section so lastly the macros macros are essential if you want to perform well and I give you a couple that might help you perform better the ones I use for example AOE type macros I have cursor macros for my blizzard and my flame strike see my cursor right now and I press the macro and there is no indicator if I want to cast it and I have to press it again it immediately casts the ability where my cursor is pretty fast and useful to cast your AOE abilities then we have macros that are movement and situational um and that will help you in those situations which is my counter spell macro so if I cast and I press it it immediately stops my cast and I counter spell right after if you are in utkar keep for example this one is pretty good um it cancels your ice block and it blinks immediately so you instant blink out of your cast out of your ice block useful for some bigger poles as well not just woodgar keep and then we have the standard cancel ice block macro that I use um I use it I press it again and I get out of ice block my burst macro is pretty simple and there are a lot of variations to it so I press this I use my gloves my arcing power and my icy wins um you can put anything in that macro no matter the spec for example you can swap the Arcane power with combustion and put a flame cap in there and put a speed potion in there and put you can put whatever you want to use on your go you can put in there you can even make two burst macros if you wanted to lay some burst which for fire Mages for example if I rate on a mage I have this macro as well which uses my Sapphire my Mana Gem and my flame cap my manager because if I major short fights doesn't really need the Mana Gem and if you use it you get 225 spell power for 15 seconds so if you want to wait for something like for example on low Feb you want to wait for the Spore and then you want to press your stuff you can use this one to delay some burst really useful here as well I use my Gem and my Mana pod macro built in with Arcane blasts so if I you know use my Arcane blast and I use a pot I don't stop casting Arcane blast and I delay you know I I don't have any downtime in that sense between those two actions same goes for the speed potions you can put any potions in there and just use the cast sequence Arcane blast macro right here then we have one more thing and it's the Arcane explosion background that I use it uses Arcane explosion it uses a separate charge and it uses a serenade bomb right on top of me so if I'm Arcane explosion spamming in a group of mobs I use it and it zappers right with me with dark and explosion and it puts like you know the bomb or the one minute cooldown and in one minute if I keep slamming it it will throw the bomb as well then I have a mount tracker not really rating uh related but this one will Mount you up on your ground Mount but if you are in an area which you can fly it will automatically Mount up on your flying Mount and you just put the name of your mount in here and you use this macro and you have one button for both mounts and that's all the macros there are not many I mean of course sure there are a lot of macros that you can make um but those are the ones that a mage really needs like there it is not for PVE at least there's not much stuff that a mage has that you need to macro you can use lower ranks of certain abilities and and macro those you can you know all these potions and outside consumables you can macro those and and just play around with it um and you will be good to go like if you have unused trinkets you can put those in and all that stuff there's also macros where you can swap your your TBC boots like TBC rocket boots with your RAV rocket boots um I don't have it on the go here but there's like macros that swap your boots according on what you want you press the macro and it swaps your boots if you press it again it will use those boots depending on what you need and that's pretty much it for the whole little guide that I put out here if you have any suggestions or questions feel free to leave them down in the comments below I will be uh happy to answer those and with that said I'll see you guys in the next one peace
