hey guys doc here uh I had made a video a couple of days ago regarding protection Warrior and wanting to share my talent tree and findings with everybody but today I have found another build that is actually stronger than the previous one so I will do a quick showcase pulling a lot of mobs and going over why you might want to play this build so with pure protection the main benefit that it has is that it's very versatile and it does good single Target damage however whenever it comes to a lot of mobs it can kind of struggle especially whenever it's only ways of doing AOE damage are Thunderclap cleave and revenge every five seconds having long cooldowns makes it a little difficult making sure that you are maintaining aggro and doing a lot of DPS as a tank because doing damage is how you maintain your threat so quickly looking at the pro tree we can actually look at this Talent calculator real quick and we can look at just the protection tree the main benefit with this is that it's able to spec into devastate most of the time you'll you only have to be in defensive stance so you can charge and intercept while you're in defensive stance and while you are in combat but whenever you do not have a Revenge proc you can spam your devastate gets under armors on the guy you're doing damage every global and all of your abilities are very cheap through focused rage puncture and other rage reducing talents like improved Thunderclap but the main downside of this is that once you get to Big packs especially in dungeons whenever you are doing dungeon cleave like ramps and you're pulling six plus mobs it becomes a little scary and you might not have the DPS to be able to keep up with it and not only maintain threat but kill the pack before it kills you especially whenever you're thinking about your healer's Mana so through one talent in the arms tree called unbalancing assault I'll actually look at the same game so we can see the it maxed out there is a talent that reduces the cooldown of Revenge by four seconds once you put two points into it it's very deep into the arm tree and is a little perplexing why you might want to go so deep into arms and still be a tank but the main reason is that if you look at the protection tree everything passed improved revenge is either reduction to big cooldowns like improved disciplines or marginal defensive uh bonuses like improved defensive stance but the rest is just damage or various utility so puncture effectively a damage Talent as you're reducing the Rage of your devastate Focus rage reducing the cost of your abilities means that you can spam more abilities one-handed weapon specialization and even improved defensive stance both give you 10 percent more damage uh these three Talent OR these two talents give you crit and also cause your Shield slam to be more usable damage Shield you're doing damage shock wave it's more damage so looking at all this it's like it's all damaged talents buy this a few of them up here so if we're specking into all of these damage talents we might as well go into a damaged tree and that is the mo that's the main Crux of wanting to do a build like this so looking at the full build let's spec out of this real quick something to note is that this build is not really accessible until minimum level 58. and the reason for that is you need to get all the way down into the arms tree 37 points to be able to get two of two unrelenting assaults and then you get 12 points into the protection tree to get two of two improved Revenge before then you might as well just be playing pure Pratt as spamming a single Target devastate not particularly great and spamming devastate Revenge uh and spamming Revenge without a low cooldown and being very deep into the arms tree does feel a little bad some of the things that you get from Pure Pratt before you hit Level 60 does make it very nice things like one-hitter weapons specialization improved defensive stance just give you very big Global damage that does not rely on any gear whereas arms not only relies on getting gear through like polex specialization and sweeping strikes but it also has a bunch of small utility like second wind and Iron Will for stuns and it also relies on your weapon damage through mortal strike so once you are at least level 58 you can go this tree and once you're level 60 you it will feel pretty comfortable because you will have two of two Shield mastery so once you are level 60 and you are playing this build and you're looking to where where to put your points next as we are putting points into deep wounds and scaling crit through polax specialization and impale uh getting free crit wherever we can is very good so taking something like cruelty for generic will be good later but right now we have a very easy way of getting 15 crit on our Thunderclap through in sight and this will allow us to proc our T-Bones more often and through Thunderclap and cleave and because we are scaling our Thunderclap we want to be taking improved Thunderclap 30 more damage on Thunderclap is really good and it also makes us a little bit more defensively capable uh by reducing the attack speed of people we Thunderclap by to an additional 10 percent from here we will want to either take armor to the teeth this is a lot of free attack power especially even at my level where I have seven or seven thousand five hundred forty one this will be giving me quite a bit of attack power very quickly let's see I would be getting about 210 attack power from this which is about 70. is it 70. yeah 70 attack power per point so that's actually not terrible especially for the point investment either way we will want to be taking armor to the teeth and also cruelty getting an extra five percent crit means that we're blocking deep ones more often and we're scaling our crit damage through impale and polex specialization getting an extra five percent crit while building axes is pretty nice so with all of that being said once you are level 74 there's really not too much else to look at and you can kind of put your points wherever you want there are a couple of notable ones that you might want to consider you have Juggernaut which allows you to charge in combat this is a very good winner if you're trying to bounce between mobs that your DPS are unfortunately attacking before you have you know use your Thunderclap or anything and it also adds an additional 25 crit chance to your mortal strike which means that you can charge mortal strike get your deep wounds on them and then you can keep going to the next guy you have improved disciplines whenever it's two of two it takes a minute off of your retaliation and shield wall retaliation is a very good damage cooldown especially whenever you are going into B stance charging retaliation you can then pop sweeping strikes go back to defensive stance and then you can start spamming your revenge you're getting free white hits from your retaliation and you are also getting good Cleaves through your revenge so you are really popping off whenever you are using both of these cooldowns and resisting Shield Walls cooldown by one minute uh means that you can be more fast and loose with it it being on a four minute cooldown means that you can pop it about every four packs if you'd like especially if you want to do like Giga pulse you know you pull like three plus packs together pop your Shield wall pop your Shield block and then you're just spamming Revenge until the pack dies especially once you are in the later Wrath of Lich King dungeons uh having a shorter cooldown on your improved disciplines or on your Shield wall and recklessness not too bad of an idea from here you can put the rest of your points into toughness or if there's something else in a different tree that kind of Peaks your interest it's not these last three points are not that important truthfully so taking something like last stand for an extra 30 life whenever you're about to die is pretty good using this at the start of a poll is pretty bad so it has questionable usefulness and requires a little bit of sorry it requires a little bit of experience to use especially whatever it's you use it for the first time and you understand how it truly works um because if I were to pop it right now I would get about we'll say 2 000 extra HP if I am below 2000 HP when it expires I will get dropped down to one because it is temporary HP at the end of the day so it could take something like last stand it does help in a pinch and then rest of the points into toughness truthfully or you could even take something like improved spell uh spell reflection at this level we actually do have it so we can use improved special spell reflection for our party if something like a volley goes off or somebody's getting targeted by a caster so that'll about wrap it up hopefully this helps somebody and uh maybe it converts you into being a prop Warrior just like me because I played Fury for like half an hour and I realized how little damage it did and really this is this is ridiculous just how strong this is and I'm curious how it's going to perform at max level anyways good luck out there and maybe I'll see you again
