be praised welcome so glad to see you once again our midweek gathering midweek encounter yes how you doing oh absolutely gonna do some work the day y'all do the favor again share share share as much as possible we'll do this lesson and we got some announcements for you excited got some good stuff coming down yeah is the first time at the harvest fellowship of church leadership seminar which we hold three times twice a year twice a year has ever been done or offered outside of the Fellowship of churches so it's the first time we'll have people from outside our fellowship to experience what our people have been experiencing for the last few years concerning leadership so I'm just you know I've been working on that for three days good I think it's to be talked about that giveaway giveaway two months yeah yeah so let's go to Psalms 27 just as a recap we're gonna recap last week and then work our way forward okay the week before we talked about time if you missed our past three Bible studies go back on YouTube in Washington talked about time one week last week we talked about patience yep and I'm going to continue on this patience process I think I'm hearing it more and more I'm guilty of saying it okay I can't wait to this thing is over yeah in for right reasons I don't want people to get sick I'll be hurt yeah but also understanding you when you can't control a season change right you just have to be patient with the process until it changes I think you're absolutely right the way I've been dealing with it for as long as I can remember I look at these types of atmospheric things like I like my attitude of the weather there is absolutely nothing I can do about the weather except dress for it yeah prepare for it as best I can so my attitude about what we're going through right now is it's like gas prices yeah I'm not gonna stop driving right you so I don't complain about the price again yeah you know if it's raining outside I'm good it's hot outside I'm good you know you just make the adjustments that you need and go on with your life right and I think you can get become impatient with things you can't control yes absolutely and I think there's a danger in that absolutely yeah we're gonna talk about tonight look at songs 27 just to recap okay well look at verse 13 and 14 and work our way forward they was writing here and says I had fainted unless I believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living I would have given up yep if I didn't keep my faith I was gonna see watch this the goodness of the Lord now I go to heaven yeah but in the land of the living mm-hmm verse 14 wait on the Lord be of good can be of good courage and he will strengthen your heart you notice he didn't say God was gonna make you a good car but he said you have to make yourself a good car okay and when you do that the Lord will strengthen your heart then he adds it on again whenever the Bible says something twice is to emphasize it wait I say on the Lord yeah so last week we started talking about what biblical patience is it's waiting with a positive attitude mmm-hmm it has a hopeful joyful attitude because of a pot it's a joyful attitude with a positive expectation okay okay which allows me to weight that weight better because if I expect a positive outcome it gives me some sense of cheerfulness in the process so the strength of relationship gives me more patience yes okay and patience is endurance and while I'm waiting or as the psalmist saying I had trained it unless I believed to see the goodness the manifestation of favor the manifestation of grace the manifestation of power of the Lord in the land of living right here right so it's it's we can become do you think some of our patients indicate our perspective on the reliability of God yes yes so we start to doubt if he's as reliable as he promised yes and then I run out of indoors yes waiting do you think I know the devil tends to answer quickly and God takes his time do you think we've got so used to responding to the enemies answer that we're impatient with God's answer absolutely and we want God to pick up the same process at the enemy half because even when he says straightway in a miracle or or now we tend to eliminate the process that got them to now yep so so Bartimaeus got healed on that day but how many days had had been sitting by the wayside you know but what that shows me what's hidden in that story is his commitment to the side of the road yes sir and it Connick tells us what we need to do he was not weary in his well doing yes yes because that's the thing another definition to is God is testing our consistency mm-hmm while we're waiting mm-hmm do we give up easily or can we continue our work while we're waiting when we get tired he's tested so he's testing attitude and consistency by a patience process right and there are times where I can admit I failed that test okay now you know God understands we want to get upset we're gonna get sad he lets us yeah is the mood just can't dominate us yeah it can't take over it can't take over right but there are times bishop Raul back a little bit because I was tired yeah and I was like okay god I'm sorry cuz I you know thank God His mercies greater than my mistakes I I find my dilemma is my impatience come from my belief in God right yeah I know he's not only willing and able but I know he can do things quickly right so when he doesn't move quickly it's not me not believing yeah it's me believing he can move faster than he's moving and sometimes I can get frustrated because I'm gonna understand why he's not controlling things a little better for me right and and that make sense yeah those you know and I I just I just like well God you couldn't taking care of that I gotta go through all those a little faster yeah can you just kind of speed up a little bit yeah you know just and we lose patience but you cannot become impatient with someone you don't expect right I just said something if if you're reliable yeah I can become impatient yep if I'm not expecting anything from you I'm not I have to exercise anything else because I'm not expecting anything anyway right but if I know you can do it yeah I'm wondering why you have absolutely which means it's something we're going to talk about a lot in you and I included I feel the same way I got a problem with God's process sometimes absolutely but most things won't admit that yeah yeah it's like what are you trying to teach me in this moment to make me why am i waiting this long what's the point I said it for years he gets on my nerves you know cuz I'm reading his word I know he can do it he says he's gonna do it and then you know I'm like okay yeah you know when you're gonna show hey you know how bad does it have to get before and I think what causes impatience like when we were looking at the the man with the demoniac son Jesus is there right and the boy gets worse yeah that amazes you Jesus talking to the father like ain't that going getting read delivered and the boy gets worse right there in front of you why does it appear as though before deliverance comes a condition often times gets worse before it gets better yeah it could be what we're talking about today God had to work out something in the father before he dealt with the son absolutely that what does God trying to teach us who is he trying to make us in this process because what we shall be I talked about last week that and we're gonna go to it again that God is allowing these trials to shape us into something yes the promise is ready for us we're not ready ready for the promise absolutely and the mansions ready yeah we're not ready for the Manchester absolutely okay so patience God is testing our attitude he's testing our consistency yeah he's testing our hope how much we trust him you know how much we trust him because he's a lot of game if I stop believing that's why all right which goes back to hope we hoping things that we can't see yeah so my hope helps me wait my faith helps me wait my faith helps me to endure but isn't the revelation in the text wait on the Lord isn't God telling us you're going to have to wait you're going to have to wait only I've made you all these promises but my promise does not eliminate my process right yeah so if you're gonna be with me you're gonna need courage yes sir to wait and God will strengthen your heart then he says it again wait I say wait I said you going to wait get over it so is he is God's more seems to be more interested in how we wait yes rather than how long we wait we're talking about the length he's looking yeah yeah yeah and we're not passing the test cuz we're looking at latitudes what he's looking at etre yeah fresh prayer changes from God I know you can do anything to what you're waiting them for you're not being fair to me start listening our resume I serve you and I've been saved a long time and I love you and you know someone's so ain't doing your will and I am we bring everybody into right yeah but but it brings us something good though we're waiting on God and actually right he's waiting on us absolutely so so my child I'm trying to get her out of the crying we asked for something instead of crying absolutely and at this point now you should just turn three sister I'm gonna ignore you so why you followed me around crying mm-hmm she thinks she's sitting there looking at me laughs you're not moving I'm waiting for a right attitude change right and then when she shows the mature response daddy can I have she gets my attention after I sorta just ask my teacher for his ask ask ask and her attention temper tantrum is making me wanna yeah hold back more mm-hmm she thinks she's waiting on me when I'm actually waiting on her but you know why she's doing that Oh cause she knows she knows you can deliver I can deliver you can deliver that's why you don't that's right but if I if I do the widow woman on you yeah you might get frustrated in just a morning you gain now girl oh yeah oh yeah I need you to start acting like you gotta bring it bring it better than that name because I try to keep you just mm-hmm you don't want that to grow up right so and what we're learning James says that we have to learn to have the patience of Job no I don't know how many of us can go through a joke with room but James says the patience of joke but that's based off relationship well but also you look at it the term patience leans more towards endurance in job story yes sir cuz Jove he'll dawn mm-hmm but I'm not going to say he was comfortable while he was hot and he wasn't comfortable no because there was that point where God had to come to him and say look bro where were you were not as far as God we're like you when I did but what blows my mind is that him and job had a relationship where job could say that and God had to come up to us a hole oh yeah you your situation has caused you to forget our relationship you've forgotten who I am yeah where were you when I set the stars in the sky will you know how dare you try to treat me like I don't know what I'm doing after I blessed you summer yep so now that I'm taking you through you're gonna get in my face right mm-hmm guy said no yeah no that's true and that's this other stuff flipside we're talking about that tonight is do you endorse the perseverance I know patience mm-hmm I'm holding on until you have nothing the only thing Kendal's hold on and that's where you need the coverage absolutely but God tells you to have courage before you ever face a test because everything that we do by faith requires courage to hold on yeah not just endurance but he wants you to have courage while you're holding on and then actually have a good attitude way oh yes you know so so because any of that shows some doubt right yes sir yeah but then he says it almost like he says be a good courage and in there tells never to encourage yourself which gives me the impression that God has created us to control these emotions mm-hmm yes yes yes yes so so I feel out of control mm-hmm I'm not in His image when that happened yes because I I've given you your mind and your emotions not to rule you but to be your slave right Wow yeah I don't know so it goes back to the Paul to the thorn thing the way I'm seeing it mm-hmm it's aggravating you yeah but you can't let it dominate you absolutely I think we want the feeling going sometimes when God says no the feeling is real yeah I just need you to overcome the feeling I think I think many people of faith make the mistake of thinking faith who requires denial correct faith requires you to see exactly what you're going through yeah and see it as real but not dominating yeah faith yes that faith is the overriding right principle even in a world where being tested mightily right and and I think I think when you look at faith and understand that in mature faith of faith it hasn't developed to trust in some situations because I believe you can have strong faith in one place trust got completely another and have doubt in enough absolutely you know because faith is not just one thing it's hands its fingers on a hand okay you know you got some strong ones and you got some weaker ones you know so I I did this thing at times can test your will right you know and God doesn't tell you to present something he hasn't given you so when he says be of good courage he's actually telling me to search myself yes for the courage that I gave you yes sir yeah yes he told Joshua three times before you go to the promised Lane don't fear be of good courage three times keep the word in your mouth because you go see some stuff let's go mess with your courage and you gonna have to command courage yes sir yes sir remember what I told you yep so all this courage this patience all comes from God and the patient's we're talking about it's not natural to us mm-hmm it comes from Gus let's go to Galatians 5 real quick okay and then let's look at verse 16 jump down to the to the other stuff okay this picniced going through some foundational first stuff first okay first sixteen says this I say then Galatians 5:16 yes I say then walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh I so let your life be guided by the spirit in Bishop people come people complicate walking by the spirit we make it like an insatiable feeling absolutely you made it so simple following the word is walking by this that's right but we want this sensational I'm being like oh I don't I don't get it yeah we know God wrote the word by the spirit right Jesus says my words are spirit yeah why don't some Christians understand that following the word is being spiritual yes sir which it's got to be spiritual because these words birth faith in a believer right right these words birth birth trust right so so the the intentionality of being spiritual is brought to bear right here yes that you can make a choice to walk in the spirit yes or walk in the flesh when I think sometimes we kind of think that being fleshy is something we can't control right right when he's giving you the Holy Ghost to walk in the spirit absolutely Bobby absolutely to do something we've never done before absolutely so it takes the Spirit of God to help us live this book absolutely and rely on him to do it mm-hmm and he says in verse 17 that flesh lusts against the spirit mm-hmm spirit against the flesh and they're contrary one to another yes why so you cannot do the things as you would your flesh is real mm-hmm your spirits real and they're in a battle to see who gonna run the show do you think that there's a misunderstanding of what the flesh is yes I think Paul makes an incredible illustration when he says there's no good thing in my flesh and he says in my flesh that is in me no good thing so so my flesh is not something I have my flesh is Who I am which is why the spirit has trouble overcoming the flesh because it's not it's not something I'm carrying around it's me you know so he's he's battling my old person yeah and that's the flesh the flesh is not something I'm walking around carrying the flesh is Who I am there's the battle yes and it makes sense Oh wretched man that I am I'm getting all my own nerves because my flesh me keeps getting in the way and won't allow me to do what God wants me to absolutely resisting yes you know so so it's really a battle over territory yes you know we're all born in sin Holy Ghost comes and the battle starts raging yeah to win the territory back right problem is the territories alive and does not want to give up his throne yeah you know you put what what is that Esau is older than Jacob yeah yeah and Jacob goes to the Father and say basically I want my birthright back my birth right back it's I think the flesh wage is the same battle absolutely dude but if you were led by the spirit 18 you're now under the law then he talks about the works of flesh in the 19 through 21 mm-hmm then jumps the first 22 and we read 16 and 17 because we disconnect 22 and 23 actually all of that from 16 to 17 absolutely if we walk in the flesh the results of verse 19 20 in 21 right if we walk in the spirit 22 and 23 all good there you go at the fruit of the Spirit notice y'all it's singular which means you can't pick and choose which one you want Wow cuz would you walk in the spirit all of these are supposed to be evidence they say fruits it didn't say fruits is singular the fruit of the Spirit so so when someone bites into us through relationship this supposed to running to love joy peace long-suffering gentleness goodness and faith mm-hmm Wow yeah because we are the fruit of salvation yes and what is beneficial what is pleasant what is pleasurable what is tasty when people experience us right Wow yeah and this is the character of Christ right here yeah man and in John 15 you said Jesus says you can't bear this fruit by yourself if you want but you have to abide in me and I in you that you're and you will bear much fruit as your food will remain so and one of these fruit of the Spirit the more we walk in the Holy Spirit the more long-suffering the more endurance the more patience we have so this is not our patience is his patience flowing through us so this is the fruit from the tree that's planted by living water yes they just it it bears fruit no matter what the season is absolutely no matter what's going on this absolutely keep on being born there's a weather proof yes so we have to look at it like our long-suffering our patience is God's patience through us and God it's the most patient person you'll ever meet that's right so so his patience flowing through us now let's go to James chapter 1 okay let's go back there and we may not finish this today but it's all good we we teaching the series around here y'all yeah James chapter 1 where you Dawn verse number 1 okay we're here last last week in the world man James a servant of God and our Lord Jesus Christ to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad greeting says my brother and count it all joy mmm-hmm considerate joy let your mind choose joy when you fall at the different temptations that word temptations is not pulling from evil it means trials hard times yeah it is a lot of it's a lot of and they're different and they're different because they're diverse there you go temptations diverse things and if we can kind of put a quarter on a meter here again going back to something you said earlier we've been talking about it it's our choice to consider it joy God never said he was gonna control your mind to make it joy that's right so I need you to decide choose your the choose joy in this because now let's take a look now it this intrigues me okay when you fall into divers temptations is that stuff I'm bringing on myself well there was that stuff God is taking me through well this in the context of this is God taking us through okay you can make an argument I just want to hear you say it because that's what I was thinking yeah you could you could make an argument that even again in our mistakes God can use our failures as it will and then the etymology of the word fall does not necessarily mean something your fault it means you experience it right so when you when you fall into or experience yes these many tests you need to purposely choose joy yes sir so then we got a problem can you think do you think the average Saint knows what joy is because most people hear the word joy and think we're describing a feeling right but the Bible says joy is a strength yes the strength of God right so joy is relational not some emotion right that comes and goes like fun yes or happy yes okay because it's not circumstantial no element of joy in Scripture is actually contentment yes sir dad he's not saying be happy about the hard times he's learned to be content yes the heart ain't him in those things right it's not that I don't have an expectation of great great of things a better time but I'm learning how to navigate the times that I'm going through right all right y'all Stabler so he says knowing this the trying of your faith worketh patience yep that God is trying to work something out in you while he's trying your faith yep all right because the only way you're the only way your faith is revealed is to try it got some fire to review how much faith you air that'll be refined now not our braggin faith because you know we got bragging fish all day long oh we talk trash about faith I got I got my Mountain faith and my and my pebble faith it's too different than just you know but I think all of us have that mountain faith when we're not going through a particularly difficult test right privately it's revealed as being a pebble right but publicly we always we're bragging faith oh yeah oh yeah because people lied to her testimony service absolutely first forces but let patience have our perfect work let patience do with supposed to do in your life produce some that it produce something that you may be perfect or mature mmm-hmm and entire wanting nothing Wow in content the purpose of patience is to help mature us alright Baker is entire bringing some contentment so trials are producing patients and patients is forming us yeah God's tried to form us in all of this this wanting nothing intrigues me yeah so the immaturity of our faith is probably the explanation for us wanting things one thing meaning not having what we desire so I've got to mature my faith so my faith can possess the things that I desire so I'm wanting nothing yeah being his patience is the key to get what you need from God absolutely my my so gosh checking her attitude as he's working stuff out in this process so darkness crisis ask God what who is he trying to make you into during this season all right now let's go to Hebrews chapter 11 this has some fun now God trying to make us into yeah during this crisis yeah alright Hebrews chapter 11 let's look at verse 24 okay he says by faith Moses when he was come to year years refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter now the Hebrew writer has given us insight into Moses while he was still a Prince of Egypt right that Moses because we always think Moses was called at the burning bush but Hebrew shows us that Moses knew about his call while he was still in Egypt and when he's going to show it to us in here in 24 says he came two years and he didn't want to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter yeah 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season esteeming the reproach of God greater than the brick that rare riches than the treasures janeshia free had respect unto the recompense of the reward by faith he forsook Egypt he left Egypt bother ya not fearing the wrath of the king free endured as seeing him who is invisible which tells us that when Moses killed the man for beating the Egyptian right he knew he was called to be their deliverer he just had the wrong method the passion came because he was created to solve that problem his passion revealed his eventual assignment yes I probably need to talk about it because I think sometimes in the body of Christ we think passion is a negative word when actuality God gave us passion right and passion can indicate to an individual with their possible purpose is so how do you say that so you love feeding people that's a passion for you you love helping people that are disadvantaged or you you love rescuing animals or you you know there's there's this passion you have for things which can be a preview or an indicator yeah of something God wants you to do as an assignment or as part of your purpose and I'm not sure that the church has not done a bad job at making passion who sound negative right in the sense that I think Jesus was very passionate oh very yeah yeah and it's something you teach you taught the kids it's not about who you want to be when you grow but what problem do you want a saw what problem because the problem produces a passion they go to fix it that's right the thing was when Moses led Asia he wasn't ready to be the ultimate deliverer like he was for 40 years before he went back to Egypt he left Egypt 40 years for God to make him into the one to go back into Egypt and what was weird was it took 40 years to wean that negative dominant emotion out of him that came from him being put in the river as a child going through all us to home go through with with maybe being mocked because of his speech all that stuff having identity crisis he looked Egyptian but he really was a Hebrew yes they which really speaks to the people of God you know he was trying to fit in for a long time dead he's so much so he almost became invisible trying to fit in to something that was not as desperate and then all of a sudden now he has to go through a wilderness experience I call it a wilderness University go with the wilderness University matriculate through all the classes get over there as soon as he comes out of the wilderness he's tested yes sir yeah yeah I got it I see what's this not if you lost your temper yeah not if you lost your passion yeah but do you have control of your passion yes so he gives him a situation where he had killed someone before he gets excited but he handles us soon that's right he drives in a wait list of women kill anybody he can't write it down about it but but it was through his endurance absolutely God made him because he saw the one that was invisible so the wilderness for the believer oftentimes is God's sharpening the weapon yes and at the same time you sharpen the weapon you take things off the weapon or file things off the weapon that are unneeded right that keep the weapon from being shot yeah but nothing likes to be nothing that exists likes to be filed all right no but it takes time to them because they tell me you have to use an axe to keep it shot okay yeah that it will become dull over time mm-hmm so the actual use of it keeps an edge on it right and then when they're storing the axe they don't lay it down they store it in the stomach yeah to keep it keep it connected okay so God through patience wasn't changes now is that why he says iron my sharp and iron it could be but but we don't like that yeah we actually rebuke when an attempt to sharpen us occurs yes yes yes Wow if you don't like the pain of the actual sharp mm we don't trust the person that's pruning us happy time right and it could be that we don't know the difference between pruning and cutting off but it's the same thing but for different purposes purpose and you do have to know how to prune a book absolutely yeah because you can actually destroy it if you don't know what you absolutely you can destroy the productivity of the book right you won't destroy the bush you'll destroy the productivity because rose bushes have to be pruned to the point that it looks like you're destroying the bushes ability to produce right but then after the pruning the next season the fruit of the print of the tree the roses come back stronger bigger brighter than they did the previous see right okay so that's what I was doing with Moses when he left Egypt was like you said pruning all that stuff off so by the time he came back and so let my people go he was a completely diverse man he still had his passions but his passion though but it changed individual and it's funny it took God 40 years to do that every now and have council appointments where somebody I'm not changing fast enough you've been this way for 40 years yeah man you're not going changing today it's gonna make me just don't take more in 10 minutes it's gonna take more than 10 minutes to evolve into a new person I think I think we want a miracle then that's impossible right now that sounds contradictory we want a miracle that doesn't include a process right every miracle includes a process right right okay that's so true it says we even know it in food and no shade here but if you go to a high quality restaurant order a steak it's going to take about 30-40 minutes to make absolutely you go to a low class place it's gonna take them 10 minutes to cook or the taste is different yeah man what you're getting is different and they're cooking it faster yeah they're a good steak man it takes time yeah you cook that babe was slow with intentionality right the oven versus the microwave two different things uh man we don't like process you don't like process so let's talk about this some more let's go to Hebrews chapter 12 okay first of all twelve eleven Hebrews 12 okay it was 12:1 okay unless you have more about most no go ahead man I got splitting up I got plenty of Moses bug Leah alright Hebrews 12:1 last he says wherefore saying also we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth easily beset us let us write here this let us run with patience yeah the race that is set before us so life is a race that requires patience yes sir which means it's not supposed to be a quick sprint no there's a distance race this is a distance race that requires some patience now you watch those track stars yes sir especially the long-distance one they paced themselves and then when they get to that quarter whatever time they turned him Jets on mm-hmm but they were pacing them so they were pacing themselves for their certain moments yes and he says in order to do this you got to lay aside some stuff that's weighing you down yeah if we can we might as well jump into it I think that some of us have picked up some unhealthy habits during the season okay talk about it because to manage the stress of what's gone you know you think we slipping yeah beat addiction to a drug it could be addiction to whatever whatever the news the news your phone TV food this that so some weight we're picking on that's slowing our race day yeah yeah and you we bend you know stuff that's just food right series and stuff yeah how many win the last time we've been installing the Bible Wow yes I mean if you gonna pick up any weight during the season it's gotta be some spiritual you need somebody need to help us with that because I'm trying to tell you something well hobbies I didn't step off the wagon I jumped alright completely oh I'm going at it has some cupcakes today stuff good tours 300 good god but but we gotta understand that we're all in a race right now yeah and it requires some patience with yourself patience with God and watch this run the race that set before you in my head we're all up in everybody else's Lane mm-hmm instead of the lane that God gave us you know they didn't have a pen relays this year so I've been watching the Olympics from forever trying to get my fix of track and they actually showed the Penn Relays from three years ago on TV the other okay so I was glued and I'm watching the stagger start right and I'm watching how people prefer certain lanes because they're better in certainly okay some people can't handle lane one some people can't handle the sweeping nature of the eighth lane okay because you don't see anybody okay because they put your way out of here everybody yeah and it only looks like you're ahead but you have to run further right then your opponents do so so it looks further it's an optical illusion that you in other words those eight people can't compare themselves right they have to run the race that's set before them yes yes you know and if they get distracted by what's going on in the other lane right they'll begin to try to overcompensate yes and they won't have a kick at the end right because they're trying to beat somebody who's not in their lane uses explains I'm always wondering how psychologically people manage the inside it's darling it's difficult if you don't understand okay because the the lane one looks like you're way behind everybody but the guy you have to pass to is also going to be in that same length yeah so what happens is you have to overcome the stagger okay so you have to you start gaining on the people that started apparently further than you do so when they make the first pass right you have to watch the passes to see who's ahead okay because the stagger makes everybody look like they're not in the place they are so you've got depend on someone else to give you some bearings man you can't do it by yourself so we're paying attention to everybody else yes sir thinking they're ahead of us yes to find us and not really but it's actually an illusion they're not in our lane right hope you learned something night man how do you and you know what I think we frustrated ourselves yeah I had this conversation with a pastor yesterday and I was talking about the 10 years it took me to get ordained and how I got frustrated twice and quit and I realized at one point that what I was doing was comparing processes yes without knowing destinies right right so I'm getting frustrated cuz Joe Blow was getting licensed ordained and got a church in two years and I'm not getting anything done yeah and God had to tell me you're comparing yourself as someone whose destiny is not your right right you know and he never offered to change mine I was going to settle into what he had or dangerous but I understand destiny is a choice absolutely if I had quit I would have missed what God wanted for right right and it goes back to Abraham Abraham wasn't just having a son mm-hmm he was having a promise nation he won't just go get a regular you were getting so what God has for you so recently what you're saying sometimes the length of your process is dictated by the greatness of what you receive absolutely and sometimes God will give you a promise to test your endurance right he gave him the promise and they ran out of patience so it told me they were being in any way yes what's this had given up and the here comes God time I don't know I just had to wake your way to walk right because you have to be the representation of faith so I can't give you the same time process else oh man I hope somebody heard what I just said oh you guys man ID man you got to be the representation of faith right so you have to have a longer process right to demonstrate what faith people must go through yes so I'm gonna give you a season of apparent Berenice with promise right I'm gonna teach you how to live between times yeah calls those things which be not as though they work the already done phase them of the life of Christ right I gotta learn how to live with a promise without manifestation right okay hmm and I've got to have endurance right in there yeah cuz I'm between time yes sir come right master Hebrews 10 verse 35 okay look what he says here he was 10:35 he says cast not away therefore your confidence hold on to your confidence why because it has a great recompense of reward for you have need of patience Wow here it is that after you've done the will of God the in-between time you might receive the promise mmm-hmm don't cast away your confidence don't give it up cuz God's gonna reward it mm-hmm you need patience yeah cuz we want to do the will of God and all of a sudden something happened immediately now it's gonna be amazing cuz I was just studying this last night okay confidence has more to do with how you speak in the spirit okay then the confidence that we think it doesn't take us into self this confidence cast not away speaking the words of faith to yourself okay so don't allow your language to change because there's a reward attached till the way you speak to yourself right while you're waiting for God to move yeah and what blew my mind was you have need of patience after you've done the will of God not before I after you waiting for the reward or the response from God after you've done his will yes that's where you start to lose your confidence say things like maybe I didn't hear God correctly yeah oh hey no it's good since you paid 37 for yet a little while yeah he and he that shall come will come and will not tarry now obviously us and God have two different definitions of a little while Oh most definitely cuz what he calls little while we call along if he says a day is as a thousand year a he got there he got all the top of the world but it makes perfect sense past in that year if he delivers everything to us through time then we have to learn how to wait yes sir on time yes such time is the vehicle by which God delivers his will to his people yes in the fullness of time when Tom was pregnant with a savior yeah God sent his son yeah so so in the context of we're and if we can't handle time we're not really ready for the will of God because the promise has come on the wagon called time yes sir deliverance comes on time it everything manifests on the vehicle God has designed called time yes yes so it's not a it's not an adversary yeah it's a method of delivery right and table becomes your and he says don't cast away your confidence because there's a great recompense of reward you need some patience yeah it's gonna be a little while mmm-hmm he will not tarry yeah so he's not tarry he is on the way yeah yeah we are again living between two times absolutely and it's the whole Lazarus thing Jesus had you've been here earlier who told you I was coming earlier I never told you I was coming early Jesus never even acted like he was gonna come here he said I'm gonna call him he didn't say what time he say when that's that stuff gets on your nerves because imagine Lazarus knowing Jesus like he does and saying okay where's Jesus yeah you know why hasn't he come yet you know you're always eating and taking naps but right you know I need him that yeah yeah yeah now help me I contended this guy could be offered okay I contend that Jesus waited for a long time because of their relationship with him mm-hmm in order to develop their faith how could I say he had to disappoint their expectations I believe you're right but but it was always his intention to resurrect that's not a he because then thought was well you could raise him up at the ladder that had been here sooner we wanted to go on through night again they they thought it was over yep and she said I had to wait just for that cuz I need to show you what I am hmm I am the resurrection had to read had to read reconnect them with who he was yes because perhaps they had become too familiar with the whole yeah so they started complaining they they absolutely knew who he was yeah they absolutely knew his capability yes which is why they ran out complaining with confidence yep yeah we know you could have done it yeah and we know you will do it later yeah and Jesus like I didn't show up for later mm-hmm I sort of right now mm-hmm he came right when their faith was broken mm-hmm ain't that something and you know the neighbors were talking oh yeah Jesus eat over there all the time yeah he's but your friend I thought he was your friend I thought he loved you you going through this like the rest of us yeah where is he mm-hmm in the power of the testimony and why so many people got saved after Lazarus even got up because the text says when he rose from the dead the people came to the house not to see Jesus they came to see last times he laughs because he has believed on Jesus estimate testimony they believed on Jesus when they saw last he was the living work of Christ yeah and God had oh gee waited until it was past their possibility yeah man to do that work dear man to build their faith of that and he does that yeah so obvious I'm asking the answer one question so the stronger your faith is the heart of your tests are absolutely because I don't believe the Lord has ever finished right strengthening your faith never never done and I think the dilemma of faith and I just studied this the other day is the size of the seed versus the obstacle it has to move okay that mustard seed is dwarfed by the mountain it has a loser yes sir and is it possible that God is saying that faith is so powerful you don't need more than a mustard seed to move a mountain because if you use more than that not only will you remove a mountain but you'll create a crater you'll blow out there'll be a valley there where a mountain was yeah so all you need is this amount to get that moontak yes sir and the problem with faith for a believer is the thing I'm believing always seems to have more power yeah then the faith that I say I'm releasing right right there's the dilemma failure alright just gonna live you're gonna do that 1:30 yeah we've only just three just to live by faith if any man draw back my soul shall no pleasure in him mm-hmm but here not of them who draw back unto perdition whom but of them that believe watch this to the saving of the soul Wow leave until the end but also what happened to your initial faith they got you safe yeah to me that's the strongest faith oh man that's the saving that's it if we're not careful maintaining it diminishes over time yep because I'm telling you the hardest thing God ever had to do for us we're saved absolutely hardest thing absolutely it took less power to create the world than it did to save you and I right right Jesus didn't have going across these did not have to die for creation to be made yep mm-hmm me saving faith is so strong yeah you hear a voice say get saved mmm Oh God you've never seen yes sir heaven you've never seen mm-hmm and you had that much faith at that moment to give your life to somebody because you heard that word yes he said after you heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation come on God after that after that thing peered into the darkness yes sir got connected with you and the word does what it was designed to do with your earth faith yes sir all of a sudden you believe it yes what happened to you this message man yep faint come by what hearing and not hearing anything the Word of God after you believe the gospel of yourself is trusted yes sir all that comes from hearing that live spirits filled spirit driven spirit created word yes sir if a vision is not complete until it's written that's why God had the right this Bible because his vision for us would have never happened he had to write it down because we're in the book yes sir how's he write your name in the Lamb's Book of Life before you say so now come on all right well we had we got an inn soon go ahead I guess something else you got it I know you did go to Romans 4 do this every one's for you almost full yep I know you got more to say we do believe you could always do next because you know Romans for hope y'all getting this thing man it's a Romans for let's look at verse 13 let's start there just for some context romans 4:13 he says for the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to a seed through the law but through the righteousness of faith for if they were trouble law be heirs faith is made void the promise is of none effect right because the law worketh wrath where no law is there's no transgressions right God is saying that the promise is not based off the law because the law requires works right to receive the promise right there's not much wiggle room in the system of the law right so God says I gotta make this promise by faith because you can never live good enough to receive what I want to give you mm-hmm so I have to make it by faith yes and not by the works of the law because we're too much of a sinners so through a66 there was over 600 laws in the Old Testament yeah you broke one you broke under couldn't so he said I can't make it that way I got to do it by faith which shows us that you don't have to be perfect to receive promised you got to have faith follow God patience it wasn't it paul ii said that the law was weak through the flesh yes meaning that not that the law was weak but the flesh would not adhere to the law yep so God had to make another way for us yes sir I'm so happy if 666 or 667 I don't know how many well over 600 long we barely get into our box right right we barely follow the tangka back to 10 the to love God and love your neighbor with those good look we got he said look I got I got 600 for you I'm gonna knock it down to ten yeah you can't handle ten right Jesus said okay let's break it down to two love God we still having a problem there'd be no hope in that system man he breaks it down for right and God used the law just to reveal the sinful nature of man to revealed our need for a savior in our need for grace and faith to receive and he could not have a relationship with a conscious less people yeah so he gives us the law to create a conscience yes okay so he had to give it that way therefore it is a faith that at meat might be by grace so grace and faith goes together it's by grace that you're saved through faith not by works in in the law to the end why since the promise might be sure to all the seed yeah everybody not only to that which is of the law but also that which is a fate of the faith of Abraham who is the father of us all so Paul is saying is not just for the Gentile it's also for the Jew right he said it's for all of those who follow the example of Abraham's faith there you go all right seventeen Anna's were not maybe a father of many nations mm-hmm before whom he believed even God I love the way Paul writes gehrman quickeneth the dead yeah and calleth those things which which be not as though they were so God calls a bra says I'm gonna make you a father of many nations without children mm-hmm I'm going to call you it until you become that's right because I've decided that's what you'll be which means I've got to give you an Isaac or it won't happen yes sir you want to give me Ishmael yeah I had already chosen Isaac and I'm gonna work when you talk become well I'm going quicken today yes sir and then call and I don't know if many people believe this story is about the Abraham transaction when God takes them from an infertile couple to a fertile couple takes him from an impotent man of faith yeah to a potent man of faith takes them from impatience to Providence yes you know all all this is about this 17 right here literally works out his whole life everything everything because he was people's past dead so another Texas without his horses there so it's 18 against hope believed in hope that against hope means against the hope of his natural who believed in the supernatural mhm when one system doesn't work God's system kicks in kicks it in your natural fails but super natural kicks in that he might be the father of many nations according to that which was spoken so shall thy seed be and being not weak in faith he considered not his own body now dead mm-hmm when he was about a hundred years old yeah yet the deadness of Sarah's womb hmm so Abraham looked at himself looked at Sarah today ain't gonna happen he said they go happen but when God spoke oh man when there was no hope here the Word of God births faint that's right it gives hope work out so Abraham so again faith does not deny reality it sees the reality of the situation mm-hmm and she was do believe God anyway 20 he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith yeah giving glory to God even when Abraham went into Hagar it was just a misguided choice of faith right because he believed the promise so much he said well I can try it this way because he was impotent before got quickened him he where'd the Hagar had Ishmael hmm so he believed that's why he tried to present Ishmael say God take him you told me I was gonna be a father I got one here is there a question in there for us oh yeah when we feel strong again will we lean to what God permits or will renewed strength require patience to get what God prefers reduced strength of patience because renewed strength can make us impatient for what we've been waiting for a long time I've been faithful for a long time I start feeling like everything's turning out and then I become impatient with God's process right the symbol of impatience is Hagar and Ishmael yep okay yeah oh you're right and he tries to hide you say he hides rebellion enactus absolutely there you go they absolutely hid rebellion in an act of faith yeah which is all of these know why he would try to present Ishmael because he thought by faith he got him but you just used your faith in the wrong area but he could Ishmael could not be promise because Ishmael was not fruit from a dead tree yeah Ishmael is the rock being found to kill the giant of disappointment well in the most unlikely place in a valley Ishmael is the strength of my impatience causing me to lose faith in my faith right but it says he staggered not at the promise of God so he doesn't look at Hagar as him staggering he believed the promise that much his faith was placed in the wrong place yes okay yeah okay yeah and to work that out cuz I know some of y'all was thinking wait a minute now I know the story to work that out he staggered not let's see what that means yeah cuz people can ask the question yeah but it's just the abraham believed this so much yeah we gonna make this thing work even though the wrong way me being fully persuaded 21 that he had that what he had promised he was able also yes sir perform yes sir abraham had that much faith and I believe they waited 25 years before they got Isaac mm-hmm we complain about three weeks man he waited 25 years to receive what God promised him God had to wait until Abraham was strong enough not just to get Isaac but also to take him to the mountain of sacrificing to raise him to be the to see because Ishmael actually represents a manifestation of faith but with problems God never wanted them to face yeah yep Isaac was the one that was going to not gonna have nearly the problems at Ishmael walk but it just shows you what impatience can get you involved in yeah and how desperate you can get waiting for the right thing to happen right yeah let's go to Hebrews six go back to Hebrews six we got three minutes yeah okay Hebrew six me read this last week some have to go through too much Hebrews 6:13 women God me promised Abraham Hebrews 6:13 he promised Abraham because he could swear by no great he swear by himself saying surely blessing I will bless thee multiply multiply and so after he had patiently endured yea he obtained the promise after he waited the right way after yah work out consistent made and transform that's when he got the promise and and there is the word definition right there in in verse fifteen patiently endure yep with the right attitude yea he obtained the promise now let's go to Roman's two and we're finished Romans 2 Romans 2 verse 4 okay you can start playing right now we've done while she says in here Romans 2:4 he says Oh despises thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering mmm-hmm here's the kicker knowing that the goodness of God is supposed to lead you to repentance Wow God is working something out but he's good to us right his goodness is not supposed to lead to haughtiness or arrogance yeah his goodness to us is supposed to lead to a transformation to repentance it's the old version of saying our new way of don't take my kindness for weakness and we become offended by process yes he says don't don't don't despise o the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering not knowing the goodness of God leads you to repentance that's unexcited for a lot of people but when I understand repentence reopens the door to the supernaturalists yes without repentance I'm locked out yep with repentance I'm open up to the realm of the holy ghost the realm of the spirit once again not just to see it but walk in it right so repentance is not just a word or an act repentance it's actually a doorway to the supernatural once again I yeah I get I get to the deeper things of God he feels he feels he can open up some things to me again yeah because I think we just thought that repentance was a change of mind leads to change our heart but no it is the kicking open of a door that we shut yeah to the very presence and power of God yeah I'm reminded what's right when I repent I think God's doing that even during this season mm-hmm showing you my goodness showing you my care all of this is to transform me all this is to lead you again to kick and open that door and get this back to restoring brainstorming the throne yeah praying more and like you said when we first started our problem is how long it's taken yeah I think the impatience that we're seeing around the nation is an indication of an impatience with the way God is going to deliver us from this right and I'm not surprised that people are confused firstly Christians because I've not heard too many prophets that have agreed on what God is doing yeah and is it is it indicating to us that we have more in common with the Corinthian church then we would like to admit yeah because everybody has an interpretation yes and God does not speak in disorganized ways yeah he you know it's yes any man yeah to his glory and I just think that I'm if we get back to his word will will be like the sons of Issachar will understand the time yeah and we'll know what to do based on the wisdom that he's placed in this book yeah I I shudder when I hear preachers and people that are representing God trying to tell people that this is not what they should be they've got it they've got a separate revelation that's greater than what we're seeing here in the Bible yeah and I'm always amazed pastor Nick that someone can come up with what they think is a greater revelation then you'll see in the word and they haven't yet mastered the word right the present thing you know and and I think what happens is when you start to really study the Bible you stop trying to tell God what he's saying can I say that God we tend to try to tell God what he is saying right and not listening for his voice which is what he has really written this for yeah and not just his voice but the voice of Jesus lo I come in the volume of the book to do thy will o God yeah he's he's trying to get a hearing from us and everything that we read and one of the things he wants us to do is settle into his process yeah and and and do him waiting have good courage yeah and he will do something we can't do for ourselves he was straight then though our hearts right but he comes back like you said he says wait I say on the Lord you can't change what I'm doing right now but you can wait well yeah one of the psalm says learn how to wait within your waiting yeah yeah so we're trying to speak right into where people are and know that God's patience his long-suffering is forbearance for us our moments of transformation and change we're going to pray soon we got some announcements coming up but before we do all that we want to pray for those that need to be saved those that need the Lord in their lives that during this time you find yourself listening to this particular message in God has been patient with you he's patient with all of us I don't turn away we want to invite you to something really life-changing on Saturday just you need some details to get this and so don't turn away you know once we pray stay with us we want to invite you to a first-time event for those of you that are not a part of us and we've been told for years that we should be broadcasting this thing all over the world and right this Saturday is the first time they were gonna take it outside these walls yeah absolutely now we don't want you to miss it so don't go away stay right there yeah I've got to show you something yeah so if you need to give the Lord your life you need to rededicate your life to the Lord put your name in the comment section our people are in the comments looking they're going to connect with you talk with you simple process of giving the Lord your life simple process of recommitting your life to the Lord or if you need a church on put your name there also we love to have as a part of a member of our church online let me get back if you're in the area anywhere two hours of this church yeah need to come you'd be here put your name in the comment section also we're getting ready to give tonight - yeah because again it's an opportunity for us absolutely to give to give to the one that's been so patient with us it's crazy how God gives us everything and we get impatient with the stuff he yeah I was I was I was sent a clip today of us feeding people during this time and they had this one young man who was in being interviewed and he was very sincere about how critical things were and that he was glad that the Food Bank and us had partnered together and we're providing you know patents and pounds of food yeah something so basic to a lot of us yeah and that's the kind of thing that people are helping us do yeah when we give it's just feeding people and clothing people in housing seniors and and and counseling people through their problems and dealing with bereavement in this season that when you wear the whole system for departing loved ones has changed radically and this is what people help us do you know and of course come to them almost daily now with what we think will keep you connected to faith and connected to in your relationship with God and strengthening you and this time that is trying for everyone yeah but the trying of your faith yeah you're supposed to produce something call patience yeah go ahead and pray pastor Nick so if this you pray if you need to give give on a screen it will get to the gym for a minute yeah go ahead and pray father we thank you for this moment we appreciate you for this time thank you Lord for this day that you have given to us we appreciate you for this moment thank you Lord for how this word created a season for us created an opportunity for us to step into a new dimension in you thank you Lord for faith in the word thank you that the word produces faith and faith allows us to enter into the season of that word thank you for giving us the process quite frankly we didn't give ourselves anything you started the process you are the process and you are the culmination of it and we thank you for that forgive us Lord for being impatient with you who has been so patient with us forgive us Lord for our attitudes and our consistency not being the right help us to start over tonight one more time if there's someone watching us now that needs to be saved allow them to type their name in the comments section someone needs to rededicate their life put it on their heart to do the same somebody also needs a church home help them do the same thing also and father we give you praise for what you are doing draw people to you we can't draw them only you can it's our job to plan our job to water but you give the increase send your increase now forgive us Lord for what we've done wrong start us over one more time tonight in Jesus name Amen pastor Nick there's three voices we have to master in our lives the voice of our greed which begins to speak every time it's time to worship God without giving okay the voice of our need that voice moves the heart of God okay the voice of greed courts the presence of the enemy right the voice of need moves the heart of God and the voice of our seed moves the hand of God okay so we got three voices we have to learn how to master greed need and see greed the enemy comes closer in proximity and looks for an opportunity right need God's heart can't help but be moved right but his hand is only moved by a seed that we saw yeah I want to encourage you tonight that this word has ministered to you in any way you sew into it right now I'm gonna do $100 tonight I don't know if you're gonna join me but whatever you do whether it's 50 or 25 so that seed right now instructions are gonna be on the screen most of you give the fire or text to get whatever is your most comfortable way to do it and those of you that are in the region you you don't do electronic but you want to bring it by the church you can do that but the convenience of it is doing it right now so doubt does not get in so greed does not start talking to you Sony doesn't start talking to you go ahead and sow the seed the icon is on the screen thank you once again for joining us you want to talk about the Leadership Summit to couple things don't forget to join our family on Facebook type in Bethenny I fam be a part of our Facebook group it's a
