Wokeness in TV Shows and Films is Meant to Suck

for several years now myself and many other commentators and reviewers on youtube and other platforms have lamented the woke vandalization of sci-fi pop culture icons and franchises the likes of doctor who star wars star trek the marvel cinematic universe comic books and many other popular properties the infringement of left-wing politics into entertainment has of course not just been limited to major long-lived franchises but also new ones as well but there's something especially concerning about the systematic deliberate and meticulous transformation of long-running franchises that is in my view reflective of the subversion of the western world that's currently taking place and the undermining of values culture tradition and national identity so what do i mean by all of this well last year you might remember all that brouhaha in the media about people in the us and the uk tearing down statues that were seen as symbols of racism or slavery reminders of colonialism for example this was yet another astroturf campaign to stoke racial divisions though such statues are in some cases hundreds of years old and the pop culture franchises i'm referring to are only a few decades old the principle is largely the same it's about rewriting of the past and the undermining of key cultural touchstones and institutions franchises like star wars doctor who and star trek or comic books and movies about the likes of superman or batman these entertainment properties span multiple generations and speak to people from all walks of life they are institutions they are absolutely iconic and part of the fabric of our modern culture with characters that are household names and lines of dialogue that have long since entered the popular lexicon but whether it's leftist social engineering ideas like toxic masculinity redefining gender roles promoting lgbtq ideology critical race theory or ideas about white privilege etc society is being attacked from multiple vectors in order to bring it to an entirely new place this is the transformative year zero model the education system is radically altered the mainstream media attempt to normalize these ideas politics moves away from western ideals of meritocracy and personal freedom and responsibility in favor of big government overreach censorship state dependence communitarianism and totalitarianism the corruption and rot sets in across the entire society the architects behind the undermining of the western world know full well the power of stories and popular culture it's why they pump so much money into hollywood and the music industry to push their agenda and destroy the values innocence and morals of young people culture is the story a people tell themselves about themselves and superheroes and aspirational fictitious characters provide not only escapism but also a sense of inspiration hope and they serve as role models to millions so it's no wonder then that pop culture is targeted as a vehicle to demoralize people to take people's heroes and favorite stories that once fired their imaginations and weaken them twist them into inversions of themselves deface them and sully their name and corrupt their message obliterating the meaning they once had and making them empty hollow and without hope fun or value you'll be ridiculous franklin i've read the files the doctor is a man i've had an upgrade hi sheer [ __ ] hubris shut the [ __ ] up sorry i had to [ __ ] ruin it i hate that [ __ ] hospitality autograph somebody else could find that [ __ ] synth why does it have to be me this is so [ __ ] cool it is [ __ ] cool anyone who treats me like a dying man will run the risk of pissing me off the suit is literal perfection it will be when it fits a woman you've got to do better senator i've dealt with plenty of trigger-happy fly boys like you you're impulsive dangerous i dream about you all the time it's wonderful to see you data to see your strange beautiful face okay among the many many things that i regretted after your death was that i never told you that you love me i mean what am i watching seven years of the next generation and four films and we never knew that picard was gay for data culture is part of the backbone of our identity and one of the key foundations of wider society because it has the power to connect total strangers in a shared set of stories philosophies and ideas it is unifying stories are essential to people because they form part of our heritage and develop our language and thinking rooting them in shared narratives modern pop culture franchises that have stood the test of time were all created during the 20th century of cinema and the height of the western world and in particular american success well america and the west in general are more divided and spiritually morally and culturally undermined than ever before and so it's hardly surprising that such decay is being reflected in popular culture we've spent all this time ridiculing wokeness leftist ideas and political correctness in movies and tv shows trying to understand why anyone would appreciate such garbage it feels like our favorite franchises are being held hostage by people who actually hate them but i think the presence of wokeness in our movies and shows is also communicating something from those who have infiltrated the media and entertainment industries the message is we're in charge now we can do this to your show we can destroy your heroes and your symbols we can rewrite the histories of your favorite characters and make them say and do ridiculous and terrible things that we know you don't like and there's nothing you can do about it the intrusion of wokeness and pop culture is not designed to complement or improve the quality of the product it's not designed to increase profits it's not designed to offer additional value or augment the experience it offers no practical value it is simply a parasite that seeks to infect the host body and use it for its own purposes to expose the audience to its propaganda and ultimately alter their thinking while children are increasingly exposed to leftist ideas in the school curriculum like intersectionality feminism lgbtq indoctrination critical race theory these ideas are then reinforced in the popular culture in the television shows and films that they watch wokeness in your favorite franchises is designed to suck to literally suck the life out of them and to a degree the audience as well this is why i don't watch any new shows anymore the leftist agendas are so unbelievably overt now instead i find myself going back and re-watching tv series and films from the pre-woke days of hollywood i think the best way of dealing with the toxicity of wokeness these days is to either completely ignore it and refuse to watch such productions or to ridicule it preferably by using humor clever and witty ridicule and satire is our most potent weapon because those pushing this agenda absolutely hate that they can't control what other people find funny that's why they've spent so long trying to police comedy and cancel comedians who make jokes considered offensive i think the plan long term should be to develop a parallel society whereby independent filmmakers writers directors and artists are free to create their own original works that are shielded from cancel culture and that aren't beholden to conforming to the cancer of wokeness art is at its best and most ingenious when the creator isn't restricted or compromised with distractions political agendas or limitations and requirements especially ones that are in fact designed to undermine the value of the work itself it is from this place that the imagination can truly flourish culture can be genuinely enriched and audiences are entertained moved and inspired [Music] you
