just before we get into this video guys if you wanted to follow me on social media on Twitter and Instagram the links are here and if you also want to support me on patreon as well and help out my channel that would be absolutely awesome as well but let's get on with the video hey guys it's windy here and welcome to another episode of why you should watch the series where I talk about well something and tell you why you should watch it fairly straightforward as you can tell by the title and the thumbnail of this video I'll be talking about the BBC series known as line of duty now this is something that I have not watched before and I still haven't finished it yet but because I'm so excited about it I want to talk about it so you may have noticed that there are no comments on this video and that is because I don't want to spoilers I had not seen this show before and I had an interest in watching it but as usual with me I just never get around to it but my girlfriend made me watch it I say made me I wanted to but I started watching it and now I'm addicted to the bastard thing I really love crime dramas love crime dramas and I've got to admit this is one of the best I've seen so far so for those of you who don't know what line of duty is is a crime unit ac-12 that deals with anti-corruption hence why it's called Acey anti-corruption seat clever although I imagine that is also probably what they use in the police and this anti-corruption unit doesn't investigate typical crime it looks into corrupt police officers or corruption within the force itself so every series they investigate a different person for a variety of different reasons now the reason why this series I think is so good is because it is never ever simple it is never ever straightforward whenever you think that something is going a certain way it will throw you a misdirect it will spin you a line and you are back to square one where you as the audience is trying to figure out just what the is going on this is a series where you can't really trust anybody you can't really rely on anybody somebody might seem like they're a genuine really nice person and they're a bastard or the total opposite of that and then sometimes it'll make you think one way make you think of away and then you go back to the first one again this series is so cleverly written it's so cleverly written and this might be a minor spoiler for people who haven't seen it but what I thought was every series they investigate a different police officer they wrap that up and then they move on to the next one well from what I've discovered so far it's not basically everything is interlinked so even though they will investigate different offices sometimes in certain cases they overlap and things from a previous episode or a previous series will crop up again and it gets so deep sometimes this series also does things that it's just totally unexpected and they do things where you think whoa okay that was a bold move this show also has some horrific moments and I mean there are things that people do in this series that are genuinely spine-tingling and there are moments where you see characters get killed or you see characters that are in danger and you think oh my god I can literally feel how they are feeling in that exact moment when they are a second away from death or when they are being tortured for example or something like that the realism in this show in how they do those type of things I think is fantastic I mean obviously I've never experienced being murdered or being tortured apart from watching series 11 of Doctor Who well I can well believe that their reactions are fairly accurate so let's talk about the cast because this show has a hell of a cast so you have Ted Hastings who is a superintendent leave that's the rack that he is but he is played by Adrienne Dunbar he's a Northern Irish actor he's one of those actors where you don't really know his name but you know him by his face he's in ashes to ashes as well for anybody who's seen that he's Martin summers in the second series which is ironic because Martin Somers was a very corrupt officer whereas Ted Hastings is very much not the corrupt officer or is he I don't know I've not finished the show yet he might be the worst one of the lot be the way he's a really cool character I enjoyed his character a lot he's very stern he's very much in charge he just has to give you a look and you know what he's thinking and that he's gonna go off on one or he's gonna praise you but he's also a very likable character as well for now again I I don't trust anybody in this show the way that he deals with his team as well is brilliant you know he will be harsh when he needs to be he will be sympathetic when he needs to be he's very good at his man management and he has some issues in his personal life as well but definitely feel sympathy for the guy and you definitely enjoy seeing him on screen and you enjoy him particularly when it comes to the interview stages you can see him totally work out what this person is about y'all Kate Fleming who is played by Vicky McClure very good actress she's probably more known for This Is England where she played along again very good character very good actress I really love her performance again she's got going on in a personal life sometimes she's a bit hot-headed all the times she's a bit conniving but she's still a very good character and Vicky McClure plays her fantastically and then the last sort of main character is DS Arnott played by Martin Compston I think his name is anyway he's this other officer he's probably the main character in the show thinking about it but he's it again he's a really cool character he's an officer who will not leave a stone unturned he will investigate every single thing every single detail no matter how insignificant it may seem and also I didn't even realize that the actor isn't even English he's a scotch fella puts on a hell of an English accent though at the very beginning of the series his character is put through the wringer a bit so he understands corruption and that's why he wants to be a part of ac-12 he wants to prove himself and weed out all the bastards basically within the police still can't get over his accent he's really really good you have a hell of a supporting cast within this show as well full of well various different people some of them I can't even name because I don't know the actor's name all the times it's people that are well known such as Keeley Hawes Daniel Mays is in this both in ashes to ashes obviously Keeley Hawes was Alex Drake and Daniel Mays was Jim Keats in the third series Neil Morrissey who you may know is Bob the Builder although and this is more like Bob the bastard and just everything about this show is perfect I've not come across a single bad episode everything in this series is so addictive and you just want to watch the next episode you want to keep going you want to see what happens next want to know what misdirect is gonna happen next you want to know more about these characters you want to know more about this corruption because it is so engaging and it's so interesting to think that I mean obviously it is a drama so they're gonna ramp it up it's not gonna be a hundred percent accurate but it's so interesting to see how the police could be and how corrupt people in the police can be it's a hell of a series I'll tell you that much I think at the minute there's about five series and there's also fireworks going on outside what day is it I think it was about five series of this and it's all on Netflix so if you want to go and check it out and you've got Netflix go on check it out it is worth to watch but just be prepared that when you start watching it everything else in your life will be on hold you won't care about anything else alright you know what it I'll phone in sick for work I mean cat doesn't need feeding I don't need to eat going to the toilet I'll just piss myself all that sort of stuff you'd be like you know what I need to sit and watch the rest of this so if you haven't already guys then make sure you check out line-of-duty it's honestly worth the watch hence why I'm talking about it but I was gonna say let me know in the comments what you think but I've disabled them purely because I do not want spoilers and I'm sure you guys who haven't seen it you might read something in the comments that somebody else had poured on it spoil it for yourself as well so yeah if you enjoyed this video make sure you leave a like on it subscribe for more social media and patreon links will be in the description below as always so if you would support me on any of those things and absolutely love you 4ever but until next time guys you take care of yourselves good bye one thing that I forgot to mention was the music in this is amazing like is brilliant whenever that piano comes in you know that is going down are you quite finished I hope that fireworks
