Why Exactly Do We Prefer Old Roblox Over The 'Modern' Version?

many good games today were once not good they at one point were the exoskeletons of what they became later on War Thunder cyber Punk csgo and most importantly for today Roblox except you'd be wrong if you were to ask the community of Roblox if they prefer the old over the new you'd see that the old is heavily preferred over the other so you may ask why is this the case I think it's CU there is massive differences in how the platform appeal to its audience over the times so I want to dive in and find out what makes the classic so admired and favored compared to today and most importantly why the community seems to be so divided over this topic so if we go way back to 2015 through 2018 Roblox what most people agreed were the best years the games were a lot simpler compared to nowadays now obviously the games then compared to now don't stand a chance games we have today are greater graphically and functionally and overall everything is better than what we had back then now I think most of the hype people give for the older games is simply Nostalgia at its best but that doesn't mean they were entirely wrong the games at that time had this unique charm to them due to its simple but engaging nature and no I don't mean this type of engaging no two games on the front page were anything alike and most were ones that weren't too competitive or were just role plays meaning it was super easy to form close friendships and friendly communities off of almost any game that you joined and since every game wasn't nearly as graphic intensive as some games are today anyone can play on any device now for how the game's actually held up when it came to if you could actually have fun I personally think it Takes the Cake here there were barely any pushy microtransactions thanks to developers getting ticks for visits and it genuinely seemed like they cared more about the players than the profits because games were so simplistic as well as in what you could make within it at the time it forced people to think of better and more unique Concepts to get people to play them which again made the majority of them fun these games were actual games and not just Spam left click or repeat simulators with some examples being Roose citizens ripol mini games Lumber Tycoon Phantom Forces murder mystery prison life and so so forth like I said overall everything sort of just had a charm to it compare this to the monor games of today with how invasive they are with microtransactions and a lack of unique concept since everything seems to just be remakes of older games or copies with minor changes and you can understand why most people think this way yes 2016 Roblox had simulators but at the time simulators were still games like dinosaur simulator and not this how the game page worked then is pretty similar to what we have now just games on the front page had a better cycle of options to pick from unlike now where some same games have been on the front page for years which can tie into why people think it's so stale also at the time there's this drop down filter that you could click on to search for specific game types and genres much much easier which would be an incredible feature to use today since you could just view any games that aren't modern simulators or role plays but they removed it with the reasoning being the site would be more clean whatever that means overall though games back then seem to cater towards the players making a better experience again I'm not saying the old games were better compared to today but they most definitely felt better to play one of the most common arguments you'll see when people compare these two was that the old one was a lot less toxic and wasn't filled with weirdos which I disagree a bit with the first some of the most atrocious and Goofy things I've seen get said on Roblox were back then but they are right about the weirdos part um very people then were easier to interact with make friends and simply aimed to have a good time over trying your hardest to win an online game and Roblox at the time had an older fan base compared to today so maturity might have tied into the factor why most people were chill and no one was calling each other poopy heads frequently but with that being said even with a declining average age on Roblox for some reason more and more inappropriate games or Cosmetics keep appearing yeah we had odors and cringy couples but now we have fullon sex games on the platform as well as these roblox's moderation before was almost non-existent thankfully no one used anything or did anything weird like today which almost feels like we have no moderation today as well because of how bad it is but because the older community didn't really have moderation the staff were a lot more in tune with the players and their possible problems some dude leaking personal info banned some girl just scammed you of all your Robux and ticks banned a hacker banned probably one thing that was really enjoyable about old Roblox was that they cared about more things than just maximizing profits so cool events were something most to all people people look forward to since it actually offered awesome things to do and good prizes sometimes even real life rewards but we all know what the events nowadays look like the community was also tighter knit as communication from player to player about issues or information were all the more possible thanks to the forums a thread where users shared their ideas about games shared feedback and had General discussions with one another until its subsequent removal in December of 2017 and now all we are left with is this chat box that nobody uses but now let's talk about the content creators at the time I didn't watch much to any Roblox content then and I still don't but when I did then I'd watch some DanTDM just like the platform the content creation at the time was pretty simplistic so many people focused on the Creator's personality rather than what they were making content on but more importantly there was no such thing as a drama YouTuber there also weren't any weird r63 artists and booby animators going around so that's a plus another thing I see people say about the old Community is that they'd like to go back to avoid the slenders and other curs avatars that we have today but that wouldn't really solve their issue the slenders of today were the equivalent of the frost Guard general users and online daters back then so same issue just a different look surprisingly enough though I don't really have much else to say about the community because to me they don't seem as different as people claim they ought to be the major difference I could spot was the age and taste of games between the two being unalike most people that argue for older Roblox are likely to be older than the ones that are fine with its current state so there seems to be a age and maturity boundary between the two communities the newer audience is also used to the current state of Roblox and the issues that come with it so the games that they play seem normal and engaging compared to what we had access to before which I think is perfectly fine so long as people are having fun at the end of the day so that's the gist of most of the stuff let me know if I missed anything or possibly mixed up anything so I can better my
