In this video, together we will solve the
age-old Minecraft mystery of why endermen hate water. Stick around. The water causes endermen physical harm. Solving this mystery will unlock many of the
secrets of Minecraft, since the endermen is a very mysterious creature, it’s an exciting
journey to dive into. To solve it though, we will need to analyze
the very essence of the endermen, looking in new unique perspectives. Let’s dive right in. Ready? And while we're going down into this cave.. If you go down and smash the like button,
that would be awesome... okay we're here! Let’s start the investigation. We approach the first problem: where do we
start? This is actually one of the most difficult
parts of any investigation. The endermen for some reason gets physically
harmed by water. It’s not just aquaphobia (hydrophobia),
fear of water. Here is a clue, the end dimension seems to
be pretty devoid of water, and there is not much life here. This is pretty similar to a desert, where
the only source of water is often the plants. Maybe endermen only get their source of water
from chorus fruits? What if they are not used to the water in
the Overworld? The problem with this theory though is that
you can place water in the End as well, and they still will die from water. This might not be the answer we are looking
for to solve this mystery. Maybe the skin of endermen is very thin and
fragile so therefore they might get hurt in water? There is not enough evidence to prove this
though. Let’s look at other mobs that can die in
water. Maybe they will give us a clue. Well for one, a blaze is a mob that hates
water for obvious reasons. Maybe the endermen are really hot or something…
but we can’t measure the temperature of anything in Minecraft… Wait a minute, we might be onto something,
water plus lava equals obsidian, right? And what mob looks similar to obsidian…
that’s right, the Endermen. We might actually be on to something! Now the new problem is finding proof to see
if this could be true. Could Endermen be made of obsidian? Is there enough proof for this claim? They are both the same color and it’s actually
pretty plausible. If an enderman is made of obsidian, where
would all of that obsidian needed come from? Does it just come out of thin air? Well actually yes! Kind of… In the end dimension, there are big obsidian
pillars that regenerate whenever the Ender dragon is respawned. Maybe these same powers create new endermen? Well, there would be no shortage of obsidian
in the end. That’s for sure. Could we be getting close to solving this
mystery? Let’s look further… When looking at the endermen’s other features,
endermen have purple eyes and give off purple particles. Guess what else is made of obsidian and gives
off purple particles as well? That’s right, THE NETHER PORTAL. Is there a connection between the nether portal
and endermen? By the way, if the endermen were actually
made of obsidian, they probably wouldn't be the descendants of the ancient builders and
I have gone into further analysis of the endermen in another video. The endermen might have been under subjugation
from the ancient peoples and were taken to all other dimensions. What’s interesting is we can see how advanced
the ancient builders got over time by looking through the many Minecraft structures and
the loot inside of these chests. Anyways, could there be a connection between
the nether portal and the endermen? If so, this could reveal a lot about minecraft’s
secret backstory. They both have two of the same colors, purple
and black. Is this a coincidence? I think not. We can also look at another similar block,
crying obsidian, it also has these two colors. It is covered in this weird goo, which I called
“portal juice” in another video I made, theorizing what this purple-magenta goo might
be. I had coined the term “portal juice” for
it without knowing much about this mysterious substance. But with this potential connection with endermen,
there could be a deeper meaning, an underlying secret beneath it all. Let’s think, if there is this purple stuff
on crying obsidian, in nether portals, and around endermen, there must possibly be a
magical power connecting them all. What could this mysterious energy be? Many theories propose that there’s an energy
called “soul energy,” found in soul sand and other soul-related stuff. I agree with this, but now I propose a new
energy source in Minecraft lore, “portal energy.” This is another powerful source of energy
in Minecraft. It’s found in nether portals, dissolved
on crying obsidian, and maybe found in endermen as well. While soul energy is typically cyan, portal
energy is typically purple slash magenta. Could we be getting close to the explanation
for this mystery? Well, now the new problem is: why do endermen
have teleportation powers? Could this new “portal energy” be the
explanation? Absolutely. Endermen and Shulkers are one of the only
mobs in Minecraft that can teleport. You can also count Minecraft pets too, like
cats, dogs, and parrots, but let’s get to the point. Both could have this portal energy, you can
see it in the enderman's eyes and from the particles it emits. The shulker is also purple. Chorus fruit is purple too and has teleportation
powers. Perhaps portal energy permits people to pass
peacefully through perplexing proportions. I just wanted to use alliteration there but
what I mean is that portal energy could be how nether portals function and how endermen
and other things can teleport. For example, it makes Nether portals transport
you to the nether dimension. I also believe obsidian is naturally magical
in this game. Here is proof: obsidian is used in the enchantment
table, nether portal, respawn enchant, end pillars, ender chests, and potentially endermen. That’s a long list. All of which are magical, and powered by obsidian. Portal energy seems most prominent when obsidian
is used alongside it. For example the nether portal and maybe the
endermen, both are made with obsidian. So the portal energy makes Nether portals
function, but how do endermen teleport then? They can take themselves through portals to
teleport. Maybe Minecraft teleportation is the ability
to travel through portals. Some people claim that endermen don’t actually
teleport but just move really fast since it looks like that visually. But if you do the slash teleport command,
it produces the same-looking effect. Ender pearls clearly teleport you so I’m
sure Endermen teleport. Speaking of which, could portal energy explain
why ender pearls let you teleport? I mean, they don’t look purple, right? But au contraire, there is purple on the inside
(probably). I had theorized in the past that ender pearls
are pearls made when oysters like shulkers trap an endermite in a pearl. Endermites give off portal energy too, as
seen by those purple particles again. Maybe it's very difficult to harvest pearls
from a shulker and only endermen can obtain the pearls from shulkers. And when an ender pearl lands and you teleport,
once again purple particles are shown. This could be why endermen and ender pearls
can teleport. Could this theory also finally explain why
endermen hate water in Minecraft? Is there enough proof for this explanation,
this theory? Portal energy seems like a bit of a stretch
still. And obsidian, magical? Really? Well, here is more proof if you still need
it, look at the ender chest. It is made out of obsidian, and again, this
is another proof that obsidian is magical. And wouldn’t you know it, we find these
purple particles once again. Since this portal energy allows you to go
through dimensions, maybe items put in ender chests go to some weird portal dimension where
they’re stored. I was curious about this purple particle and
investigated some more. It turns out, it’s called the “mob_portal”
and yes! It is found around nether portals, endermen,
and end gateways. Our suspicion was correct! This would also explain how end gateways work,
using the same portal energy. Even the beacon coming out of it is purple. I’ll admit I’m not sure yet about the
Eyes of Ender or the end portal itself yet, further investigation will be needed. Portal energy might explain it… Anyways, I think this is going very well,
but what about our original humble question, why do endermen hate water? This is still important. Now that we know what endermen really are,
we can theorize a good answer. Here is a potential idea: water can break
Nether portals, deactivating them. What if water can sort of “deactivate”
Endermen as well? This could be plausible since shulkers also
teleport away sometimes in water. Or maybe, since endermen are made of obsidian,
they are very hot and are made of lava on the inside, water would cool them down and
“solidify” them, making them perish. I think the first one is the most correct
though. You decide. Could we have finally solved the mystery? Let’s make sure we’re right: so endermen
could be made of obsidian, a block magical in Minecraft. They contain a purple “portal energy”
commonly found in the End Dimension and found with obsidian-like nether portals and crying
obsidian. The portal energy lets Endermen teleport. The endermen are creatures in the end with
portal energy, made of obsidian. Anyways, since water can deactivate nether
portals, a type of portal energy, maybe they can deactivate Endermen as well if they stay
too long in water. This could be the answer to the mystery of
why Endermen hate water. Like how water breaks nether portals, they
break endermen too. These other videos look deeper into this theory. Thanks for being on this journey. Like the video and subscribe if you enjoyed
