With Rick's expertise he could have made a wonderful video detailing how the bands sound changed through the years, with visuals and preparation. Instead he just does an unrehearesed live streaming while bobbing his head to the music and shilling his ear training. He needs to put it in more effort
cuz they liked jazz
Did they? I've always thought they had a very distinctive and consistent sound but like on a spectrum. Some a little more rock, some a little more jazz.
Just here to dog pile onto the βRick Beato is corny and adds absolutely no value with his low effort content except to shillβ takes carry on
Things change throughout 50+ years.
The simple answer is because they got clearer about what they wanted and how to achieve it over time. But this guy isn't all that interested I don't think.
His take at the end of the video on Gaucho being a collection of left over B sides is lazy and uninformed. While the album did use some tracks left from previous albums, I think that minimizes the effort Donald and Walter had to make to put out a high quality masterpiece despite the personal tragedies they had to overcome at the time, especially Walter. Speaking of Walter, did anyone else notice he was barley mentioned at all? Again just lazy by Rick. Add in his hawking his Beato Book and Ear Training Course every few minutes and you get just a really terrible lazy video.
