When God Says No - Part 1

there are all kinds of people teaching you about when God says yes how to name how to claim how to expect how to receive five ways to get blessed ten ways to end up on top three steps to ending on the top of the hill five ways to be an overcomer six ways to get out of debt there are all kinds of messages and sermons self-help books all kind of materials that will guide you to the process of getting what you want but there's very little said about how to survive when life does not give you what you want for the next few moments I want to tell you that you don't have to lose your faith just because God didn't say yes to what you requested him to do you don't have to have a nervous breakdown a pity party throw in the towel walk away from church just because you didn't get the job didn't get the house didn't get the healing didn't get what you wanted from the Lord we don't need faith to direct us when everything falls into place we need faith to sustain us when all hell is breaking loose when you look at your Bible with one hand and you look at your life with other you say Lord I see what you're saying but look what I'm going through and nothing that I'm going through is lining up with what you said that's where we need teaching I don't need you to tell me how to act when I get a heal I need to teach you me how to survive when I don't get healed I don't need you to tell me how to shout when I got a new job a new house a new car a new wife a new circumstance I got an assist to be happy when things go right but teach me how to be happy when all hell is breaking loose things are getting bad instead of better teach me how to stand when it's raining on my face and tell me how to keep trusting God when he says no this is the pasta greetings in the invincible name of Jesus Christ our King I am so excited to have this opportunity to be in your home and a part of your life for the next few moments to share the Word of God with you I've got an exciting series call your divine destination I believe it will speak to your life particularly at this time as you move closer and closer to God's divine purpose in your life the messages that we're going to share are really going to be the catalyst through which you better understand where you are and more importantly where are you going the message I'm going to share with you today is one that you have got to listen to the message is called when God says no I know what to do when he says yes lord have mercy how do I manage when God says now stay tuned I'm gonna show you how to deal with it check it out never been a problem with me I don't struggle with that you know my persona I know me balance between who they say you are and your who you really are your ideals balanced against your realities your strengths balanced against your weaknesses your your triumphs balanced against your tragedies everybody has them nobody escapes don't let rich folk fool you in some area of their life they are impoverished don't let poor people fool you in the midst of all of their financial poverty if you get close to them you will find that the poorest among us has a rich that cannot be tabulated in an account life is fair if you have deep revelation if you have supernatural knowledge there's always going to be something to balance out you're gonna be wide over here and a fool over here y'all don't want to talk to me today you're going to be victorious about this and you're going to be victimized about this every victor is a victim in some area of their life and every victim is a victim in some area of their like they may not tell you and it is it is not so much from the enemy that such pain comes Paul say lest I be exalted above measure God sent unto me a messenger from Satan - Buffett my flesh - Buffett - Buffett the word Buffett in Greek is to like punch with strong punches to beat up my flesh I want to talk to all the blessed people in the room who have been blessed in some area of your life and in the before you could get intoxicated over the success you had you got punched buffing it in some area it may not be it may not be a scene area it may not be visible it may not be apparent it may not be recognizable it may not be acknowledged but somewhere in your life if you are gifted if you are really exalted if you are really blessed if you are highly favored somewhere in your life you are being punched in your gut that's why the assault of the haters become so overwhelming in your heart because you don't understand why people could could hate on you and attack you don't they see that behind the scenes somewhere you are being punched buffeted me he says in my flesh buffeted me we there's been an incident we put an opossum tease about some you know it's been a big old debate about what this thing was there Paul went through you know all kind of conjecture and and all kinds of ideologies down for hundreds of hundreds of thousands of years the sages of the ages have debated about what the thorn in Paul's flesh was and so I thought today I would demystify any concern that you might have as to what it was I don't know they thought I was gonna say something really profound and intellectual and I just let that cliffhanger just fall to the floor I don't know I do think that God leaves it opaque if you will so that we can fill in whatever you need to fill in so that you can recognize that all of us have something different it touches us that balances us that makes us pray that Lexus groaning a little an item it's crowd to blood major major can't take this can't take this it's too much for me I'm not happy all of this stuff and no peace or all of this piece and no stuff there's gonna be one of them I'm telling you right now it's gonna be and he said these are the things that that so assailed my soul it touched me in the gut balanced whatever accomplishment I had brought me down to a place of humility he said I prayed before I did with them let me go back cover from I want you to see we don't know what it was but we do know how he felt about it he prevailed before God about it it was both painful privately and we know that it was humiliating publicly that's why some people thought it was it was epilepsy they because because imagine how wide and profound intellectual he would be and and then have epileptic seizures in front of everybody whatever it was it was it was humiliating it was debilitating they that whatever it was it was not only secretly painful it was publicly humiliating right in the middle of trying to do what he was trying to do and be what he was trying to be there would be something that would just take another failure but blindness and and he would stumble around and couldn't see we do know that he didn't see well and he wasn't particularly a good looking man we understand that he would be with a bit of book you know yet he was brilliant he was intellectual I'm trying to get you to understand how life balances itself and how no one gets everything and no one is exempt from pain and and then and here I'm trying to make you understand that God is just even if he's not fair he's got to be just that he balances it that you are not going to get through this world without using those tear ducts he gave you I I want you to understand that you will not survive this world no matter how intellectual you are no matter how beautiful no matter how bulging your biceps and triceps might be no matter how many you can have more degrees than a thermometer but somewhere in your life there's gonna be something punching you in the gut that leaves you laying on the floor said I don't know I speak Greek and Hebrew that I but I don't know how to speak to my own child I don't know there's always going to be something that escapes your grass that that humble shoe and sometimes humiliates you and takes all the air out of your balloon still to come on The Potter's touch overruled you have the right to object but he has the right to overrule you have the right took a plane but he has the right to overrule you have the right to cry but he has the right to overrule and I am said to you responsible for I will be responsible for most of the New Testament writings I have established churches everywhere you sitting me I have preached the gospel with power and clearly even when I was in jail I have laid hands on dead people and seen them get out of the grave and so I'm asking you one personal favor I don't I don't ask you for much I don't bother you about many things I didn't say nothing about being shipwrecked I didn't say anything about being beaten I didn't say anything about being locked up in jail but this is one favor just to take this away because this overwhelms me it's too much for me I'm drowning in and it gets me down it wrecks my life it gets me out of focus take it away I want you to understand the power of this prayer this is not somebody praying for parking spaces and let these go good at what today and no this is this is praying about what overwhelms my fear is so I wouldn't I wouldn't brought it to you if you wouldn't be I wouldn't brought it to you if it wasn't too much for me everything that I could stand I stood it and everything that I could take I took it and everything I could put up with I put up with it but this right yeah overwhelmed smart very soul he says take this take this away from me what is the thing that overwhelms you what is the thing that overwhelms over realms that you brown in that's what he prayed about three times why would Paul have to pray three times he didn't have to pray three times to raise up the dead man who fell out the window how is it that God works so good you're praying about other people's problems at home god help me Jesus I just want to ask a question if anybody understands the words that are coming out of my mouth how can you be so smart about everybody else's life but you're why why are we so wise with other people's dilemmas and such a fool with our home how could pol have the power and the courage to turn in cities inside out I couldn't fix his own problem he prayed three times for God to remove this take this crash offer me so I can serve you like I want to serve you so I could be who you want me to be I could do it if you would just fix this this somebody in this room or somebody over the internet or maybe it's just for me but somebody in this room knows what is like to be overwhelmed by something and say God if you could just take this away I'd be a better mama I'd be a better daddy I'd be a better husband better wife I'd be a better man this overwhelms me and the paul who raised the dead and healed the sick and turn water into wine went to god on behalf of his own problem and he was overruled so write down overruled objection your honor overruled you have the right to object but he has the right to overrule you have the right to complain but he has the right to overrule you have the right to cry but he has the right to overrule and I am sent to you this morning to talk to you why now when God says no what do you do when you've asked for a good thing it's not like he's asking for gold to come out the water fountain he's not praying out of carnality or selfie this is a good thing what do you do when you pray for something good and God says no you have been overruled great man of faith and power you've been overruled praying mama you've been overruled counseling other couples your home house in a rake overrule you got such good advice for the guys at work and go home and want to jump out of a window you pray and you pray and you pray you've been overruled you've got a loved one in the hospital they're sick and you prayed and you fasted and you've anointed them with all and you quoted scriptures and you're trying to believe God you're trying to read everybody's books and every tape that you can the life goes out of them you've been overruled what do you do when you have been overruled had everybody pray for the baby and you still had a stillborn that's what we need direction about that's what is happening in this text that's what's happening to the Apostle Paul y'all Paul y'all Paul y'all now you know if it happened to Paul y'all if it happened to the guy who wrote the Bible then surely the guy who reads the Bible ought to give God a little bit of slack we see this this threefold prayer before only this time it wasn't Paul y'all it was Jesus said hey Dad look I know you sent me down here to do this but uh you know look let's do a revision on the contracted and amend the documents to be transferred a little bit because if you did I will pass this bitter cup from me three times he prayed nah he couldn't change the father's mine neither Sun now Jesus finally through heaven v not my will but thine be done Paul tried to praise three times and God says nothing you have been
