sport of boxing. A split-second mental
slip can have terrible consequences. It's always interesting to witness showboating
fail badly in combat sports, whether it's due to a little dancing during the fight, trash talk in the
ring, or during the weigh-in. Without further ado, here are the 8 times when arrogant Fighters
were destroyed and humbled by their opponents. After an awfully annoying ring entrance, Usman
Ahmed got what he deserved and was knocked out in a ferocious way by Ashley Sexton in the first
round of their boxing fight in January 2010. The combination of 'Uzzy's extremely
swaggering ring entrance and the short devastating overhand right made this KO one
of the most viral knockouts on social media. In March 2006 a young and arrogant Badr
Hari fought 30-year-old Peter Graham, whom Badr mocked and called an amateur. Hari
once again showed his bad-boy reputation by offending Graham and starting a
street fight at the press conference. In the actual fight, Hari was knocked out
by Graham's trademark "Rolling Thunder". The heel hit Hari hard on the
head and knocked him out cold. Graham's kick broke Hari's jaw in multiple
places and sidelined him for almost a year. Three-division world champion Gervonta
Davis defended his WBA lightweight title against No. 1 ranked contender Rolando
Romero in May 2022. During the buildup, Romero had said everything from trash talk to
insulting statements about the reigning champion. Davis only needed one punch to end his bitter
rivalry with Romero. In round six, Davis walked Romero into a vicious left hook that sent his
opponent falling face-first into the ropes. In Aug 2015 Shane Mosley faced Ricardo
Mayorga in an oddly entertaining rematch between over-the-hill former champions. Mosley
did what he said he was going to do as he was in shape and came for a fight. Mayorga, on the
other hand, was just there to cash a paycheck, mock his opponent, and take
clean shots with his hands down. A frustrated Mayorga looking to motivate himself
decided to use some of his trademark stunts and arrogance. He shouted at Mosley and made
gestures in an unsuccessful attempt to get into his opponent's head. In the sixth
round, however, Mosley floored Mayorga with a body shot after largely controlling an
uneventful match between the veteran fighters. Tyson was only 19 when he faced the so-called
"Master of Disaster," Donnie Long, in his eighth professional fight in October 1985. Donnie
believed he could hit harder than Iron Mike, and he was given the opportunity to prove it.
The fight, which was scheduled for six rounds, lasted for less than 90 seconds. Tyson
aggressively threw a barrage of punches at Long, who was only able to cycle the ring with
a game plan that went horribly wrong. In March 2019 Sam Maxwell faced Sabri Sediri
for the vacant WBO European light-welterweight title. Maxwell was behind on the scorecards
having been dropped twice during the fight. It looked like Sediri was heading toward
victory, but in an unfortunate decision, he started showboating, dancing around with
his hands behind his back at one point. Maxwell however displayed
incredible heart and power as he found the punch that dropped the Frenchman
with just seconds remaining in the fight, earning Maxwell the win and the WBO European
super-lightweight title in the process. In April 2014 Dennapa Bigshotcamp entered
the ring for his fight against Ahmed Dib on the back of a seven-fight losing streak.
The Thai boxer spent most of the opening round dramatically taunting his opponent
instead of, boxing. He was eventually knocked out in the second round by a heavy
combination of punches from his opponent. The funny thing is that
Dennapa didn't seem upset that he didn't get back into the fight in
time after being dropped to the canvas. After this defeat, his record
stands at 12 wins and 31 losses, 17 of which have been by knockout. He is clearly
better at entertaining than he is at boxing. Thanks for watching if you like
