[Music] hi so it's dr fox licensed psychologist and in this video we're going to talk about bpd creep now let's say you're sitting reading the paper chilling you're relaxed and you don't notice or know that your bpd is creeping it lies in weight for you to put your guard down so it seems anyway right it inches closer as you relax even more right you feel that subtle old feeling start to arise those thoughts paranoia anger rage restlessness all those feelings they start to rise inside you you're questioning as your defenses rise as your bpd is creeping closer and closer then it gets into you it gets into your head and those old feelings arise those thoughts paranoia anger rage restlessness all that stuff starts to take hold you don't know what it is but your whole mood has changed and you fall into that old maladapted pattern well this is called bpd creep and it happens even without you knowing it you didn't suspect it and at first you can't even identify the trigger or how your emotional button got pressed but you react and fall into that old maladapted pattern that concludes in hurt and relationship disruption many individuals with epd grew up in chaotic environments and this chaos actually gave you a sense of comfort you learned comfort in chaos if everything is in upheaval you don't have to be surprised by the upheaval maybe you can relate to that right but think about this due to this when all is quiet you start to relax and you get triggered and emotional buttons get pressed and you're pulled out of the calm and in to the psychological chaos so how do you handle this how would you handle this well i'm going to tell you first i want you to recognize that you learned and hold the maladaptive belief that you're comfortable in chaos this doesn't mean you're good or bad i don't want you to judge it it just is we have to radically accept that it's there and then second i want you to start practicing being in a state of calm in a safe place start with trying to do this for one minute then two minutes then three minutes and so on you have to condition yourself that that sense of calm does not equal fear and pain is imminent and you want to practice it several times a day until you feel yourself comfortable in calm not chaos third manage this by learning the internal signs and signals that you've been triggered and don't always look for the environmental external trigger because they're not always there hence bpd creep fourth when you feel those triggers remember your safe place do your deep breathing until you can control how you feel not the bpd creep controlling you so please like share and subscribe i hope you liked the video hope you like the animation uh if you want to know who did it he's his name contact information is in the comment section and i hope you enjoy it please take care of yourself bye
