hello guys welcome back to food dojo in  today's video I will be showing you guys   what we ate on our Kyoto trip to Japan this was  a last-minute trip so I decided to go to Nishiki   Market because most of the restaurants were  closed after lunch if you want to experience   Kyoto's unique food culture and Shiki Market is  the greatest place to go this Lively Market has   a 400 year history and is home to over 130  stalls and stores serving a broad variety   of delicious local Specialties tourists from  all over the world visit the market to enjoy   fresh seafood locally produced vegetables and  Kyoto's traditional dishes that can only be   found here it is a five minute subway ride and a  30-minute walk from Jr Kyoto station however we   got a taxi because it was raining we chose to  eat at hirano as our first stop tempura along   with sushi and ramen is one of the most popular  Japanese dishes worldwide Nishiki hirano offers   more than 50 handmade traditional Japanese side  dishes their signature dish is the 400 Yen shrimp   tempers thank you we order the shrimp and  dashimaki eggs both tasted good but I was   a bit disappointed because they weren't cooked  fresh thus I recommend microwaving them [Music] for our next stop we decided to eat at Kerry  carry hackathy this place does not have a   sit-down option but it is famous for the takoyaki  which is often served as an appetizer in Japan   takoyaki is made with a wheat flour based batter  that is formed into a ball and then filled with   octopus Pickled ginger and green onion the balls  are then coated with the mayonnaise to cookie   sauce mixture which is similar to Worcestershire  sauce we got the green onion takoyaki and it was   freshly made by order the takoyaki itself was  delicious but the green onion was kind of spicy   so our common just ordering the simple one it  is also extremely hot so be careful when eating [Music] for our Med snack we went to Coffee Kudo the  Chica kafikudo is known for their Japanese   style sweets such as Manju which is a steamed  yeast bun with filling over two days rice cakes   are pounded by hand by Craftsman using carefully  selected first class asuki beans from Hokkaido   most of the Suites were reasonably priced under  250 yen we got the seasonal mare in daifuku the   red bean was not overly sweet so it balanced  the sweetness of the Marin perfectly [Music]   for our last stop at the Nishiki Market we  decided to eat at Meat Shop hero the meat   shop hero was founded in 1976 and specialized  in the highest quality Japanese beef it's a   sophisticated butcher store where you can get raw  meat as well as ready-made Goods at Kyoto's Meat   restaurant Hiroshi the representative himself buys  a whole cow at the Kyoto Meat Market without going   through a middleman the advantage of buying  a whole Catalyst that you can control the   freshness of the beef and because there is little  loss they can save costs and sell at a reasonable   price minchikatsu breaded and deep-fried minced  pork cutlet is one of the restaurant's popular   items I ordered minchikasu and iyuki which is a  raw meat dish in Korean cuisine Yuki literally   means raw meat and there are only few places  that are allowed to sell them because the meat   needs to be very fresh ignored to eat them Menchie  katsu was big and thick delicious and very juicy   the combination of the crispy batter and the  Savory flavor of minced meat that drips with   meat juice was a very satisfying taste he  was also delicious but compared to the one   I had in Korea the meat itself was more  chewy and the sauce was a little too much   but the Menchie katsu was the best thing I  had in Nishiki market so I highly recommend   eating at hiroshi's meat store you can also enjoy  steaks and hamburgers on the second floor [Music]   after eating at the market we decided to go eat  some sweets cold Donuts is located next to the   Nishiki Market only a few minutes walk cold Donuts  focus on organic natural and local ingredients   milk and eggs are procured locally and flowers  manufactured in house each morning in their powder   factor which can be seen via the open kitchen the  donuts themselves were yummy and there were a lot   of donuts flavors I have never seen before so it  was interesting with an emphasis on design store   pulls together Kinko humus architectural skills as  well as Shunk kawakami's artistic Direction kengo   Kumo Source local bamboo to make approximately  550 traditional bamboo woven baskets for the   inside which form a cozy Dome within the space  and complement the basic concrete walls foreign Garden Hotel Kyoto karamichiji this hotel is located in the middle of the  energetic car image area surrounded by lots   of restaurant options nightlife spots convenience  stores and transportation I personally think it's   a lot better than the Kyoto station area or  karasayama which are less Lively at night a   popular point of this hotel is that you can  participate in the morning work the hotel is   attached to a temple called shakaichi so you can  experience the morning service of the Jato sect   of Buddhism for more information please check  out the full Hotel review video for dinner we   decided to eat ramen we were kind of tired  from all the walking and eating but luckily   there was a famous Michelin star restaurant near  the hotel if you walk towards the opposite side   of Main Street just three minutes walk from  the hotel there is a ramen restaurant called   manayanochi which is a popular Ramen Shop in  Japan and abroad and it has been awarded a   Michelin Gourmet for the past eight years  in noichi soup is a 100 seafood soup that   is made without the use of animal fats such as  pig or chicken combined with various types of   dry shavings and extracted at a low temperature  to bring out the Umami the carefully selected   noodles are made from a combination of two types  of wheat grown in Hokkaido and stole new whole   grain flour produced in Kyoto slightly thin  and firm the noodles pop in your mouth and go   well with the soup making it a Ramen that can  be recommended to anybody regardless of age or   gender we order both white and black broth but  I personally like the white broth better [Music]   for the day's final treat we went back to the  main streets and stopped at Sir Thomas Lipton   to get some cakes to go all of the cakes were  delicious with the fine texture that was rich   and creamy one thing to keep in mind is that if  you want to dine it you must buy drinks alongside   with any cake orders it can be quite pricey so  make sure to double check before ordering thank   you guys for watching if you liked today's video  please like And
