welcome back to the channel guys hope you guys are having a great day today I have a quick little video for you guys I wanted to make it's similar to something I did in the beers even actually first got the beer as Ian I think everybody does this when we all buy brand new cars we all want to know the features I want to know what's going on we want to know everything that we can do with that car because it would suck to sell it in five years and you literally didn't even know how to feature I bought this truck a couple weeks ago up all maybe almost a month ago I've been driving this truck ever since and in that time I've learned some things I definitely was not told at the dealership a lot of times people that work at dealerships that don't really care my delivery experience went like I showed up they gave me the keys they put me in the truck the guy wanted to go on his boat for the weekend and he like they literally said like do you know how to pair your phone and I said yeah and I was out of there absolutely nothing was given to me when I bought this truck so today what I want to do is I want to give you guys five features that are not necessarily hidden but ones that even if you did get like a thorough delivery experience when you bought your vehicle you you might not have still been told these things so number one the thing that got me the absolute most fired up when I learned about this and it was really cool because you could transfer this onto all old GM trucks and SUVs I think I don't know how far it goes back but something that people have complained about for generations of this truck is that the the 12-volt plug like the cigarette lighter is a constant source so if you plug your phone in there and you're charging your phone while you're driving if you leave your phone in there it's gonna be on all the time like that oh it never shuts off so this is the outlet right here now you can actually hack this thing to make it a switched 12-volt they just don't tell you that and it's not common knowledge either I don't think so it's super simple on the old trucks I believe it's on the driver side on the newer trucks on the passenger side all you gonna do if you pull the fuse cover it off it's gonna look like this it's gonna have three prongs and then this little double fuse thingy is in two of them this is my dash cam plug if you look right now I plug it in it lights up you take this wherever you find it unplug it and there's gonna be three prongs and just move it to the two that it wasn't already on okay and if we go ahead as soon as we turn this key oh like the lighting is just terrible there you go as soon as you turn the key gets power as soon as you turn the key back off nothing although that was really cool because I got a dashcam and it came with one of these little USB chargers also so I was like hey I don't need to hardwire this thing in I still get the the charging capabilities whatever if I was gonna just put like a regular charging plug in there and then I plugged it in and it was always on I'm like this is not gonna work that's super cool no one tells you about that now the next one is unfortunate something that everybody doesn't get it's one of those things where trucks can be packaged just way too many ways there's way too many options I don't even have it but it is something that I freaked out when I learned about I was really excited and then I realized I didn't pay for that feature so as far as I'm aware it's available on like the high countries but give it a try I don't know exactly what packages this one's for and again I actually asked when I was at the dealership when I'm looking at the trucks I'm like oh does tailgate go back up and he's like oh no no it just goes down but at the time I was in like a fully loaded truck so I'm pretty sure that that one would have it doesn't matter you guys know in the new trucks this is a button that's not like a lever anymore you can go up push that chug it'll drop and get hit on the remote twice tailgate will drop super nice but if you guys have a higher model what you guys do is you literally press this twice and hold it the second time so you just like one two and then right now it would start to come back up which is super gangster feature like that takes that from like something cool there's something just super dope - third hidden feature is kind of a little bit less hidden but yet a lot of people really don't know about it so it's one of those things where you gonna find it in your menu options make sure it's enabled before you go ahead and do it but a lot of people I guess just don't take the time to go through their menu options I don't know you go to settings go to vehicle go to remote lock unlock and start and you'll have a remote window operation literally just make sure that's checked on a day like today it is like this is an ideal feature also a lot of cars have been doing this for a long time view on lock and hold on the second time same thing as a tailgate Oh oh that's pyre dude that's actually really cool that is super super nice I use this all the time I genuinely do I don't really like to get into a really hot car i remote start my truck and then when it's running it's pumping a/c I open the windows and just let everything out something that's really strange though that I don't really like is it uncle Beca on I think also the high country you can also fold in your mirrors it's in the same option kind of area and if you hold the lock button the second time the mirrors they fold in the windows will go back up by themselves which is kind of weird maybe if the trucks ever have an update they'll do that I know you can buy a little modules that'll make it go back up so only problem with this is you only want to put them down if you're certain you're going somewhere because if not you got to be an absolute Club come all the way over to the truck put your key in and then put your windows up another one super helpful I don't have this feature again on my truck or nice car does it my pretty sure might be Rosie does it like a lot of cars do it this thing doesn't but what you guys can do it this is really good for like tailgating or I don't know what the hell you've been doing loading unloading the truck or something super easy it's again it's oh there goes my key if you're sick of like for example tailgating and your doors always locking someone you always got to get asked to unlock your truck you open the door like right here and then you hold the unlock button you're chuckle ding and then for the time being until you hit lock neck and won't auto lock the doors which is super useful like I said I have other cars that do do this so it would be really nice if I could do the same thing to them so I'm pretty sure there's some settings in there that you can mess with boy it won't happen at all ever but you'd like it but you just don't want it right now type thing it's a good way to get rid of it and one more feature that I'm gonna go ahead and again call hidden because it's not labeled they don't tell you about it but it's something you can do this one's for all the hooligans if you're trying to drift in the snow if you're trying to drift on the ground if you're off-roading I don't know what the hell you're up to you can do literally whatever you want with your truck but if you try turn off the traction control and you're trying to do some drifts the donuts it's not going to work very well see so if you go ahead and turn off the traction control it's gonna tell you traction controls turned off your gonna get the little light so all that there was the traction control there's still a stability control which will keep your truck from going like side to side so if you're drifting it'll still try to stop you because it thinks you're sliding now most people know this because it's actually pretty common in more than just GM trucks but if you don't if you hold this sink down we just hold that you're gonna get traction control keep holding boom ESC is off so that's electronic stability control and pressures up what that stands for there you go you got both lights one light there one light there and you're good to go you're good to hoon you could do some fun stuff those are things that like to me are hidden I was trying to make this so that is not something dumb because a lot of people just want some views and they want to show you you hidden backseat powder you know you've got you paid for it or your tailgate step if you've got the tailgate step you know it's there I want you guys the common things that you've learned too because I'm sure why you got to make so much noise breath I'm sure there's more than just the ones that I notice that's gonna be all today's video is a little bit short quick we've had a bunch of stuff going on elsewhere behind the scenes type stuff you guys tune in for all the videos of you guys your regular viewers actually I'm gonna leave this one for the Instagram fan you guys aren't following me on Instagram you guys don't know what showed up this morning but it's the piece that we've been waiting for word to start all the rest of the mods on the truck so make sure you guys are follow me on Instagram make sure you guys to subscribe if you are not anything you guys so much for watching I will catch you guys next time peace out and stay committed [Music] it's extremely hot today which is nice I'm not complaining you guys know I love some good weather I came over here at parked got everything ready and then this guy comes 20 feet away and starts unloading a car because it's hot the flat deck is making just the hell a diesel fan sound space wait I've just been sitting here for
