to be a good salesperson it's it's being a good people person you need to be able to get along with people this industry is all about color and style and fashion yes the other side of that is you want to make sure you're you're getting the right floor matching it up with with the consumer so for their needs that it's proper but being a people person and being able to get along with that customer find out ask the right questions being intuitive as to what they're after and I think we have a very good staff when it comes to that I have ten different salespeople here and I have ten different personalities they're all individual but at the one thing in common is they're all here for the customer I would say traditionally what we've been seeing the last couple of years are more of the hand-scraped wire brush types of floors being from Wisconsin or Upper Midwest traditionally 3/4 inch solid products have always been a mainstay that's really we've seen a big shift in the last few years going towards engineered products which you tend to see a lot of the hand scrapes a lot of the the wire brush types of product darker floors the gray movement that you hear about that's you know the big trend is it may be here quite yet to our section but it's coming it's coming where we're seeing more and we're starting to inventory more or show more of those types of colors but it's really the the hand-scraped sort of looks are still very big with us being a traditional flooring store I think we still sell considerably more prefinished floors but the sand and finish area of our business we do also do that here has has continued to increase currently from our retail standpoint sand and finishes or hardwoods in general is about twenty percent of our business overall and the sand and finish side of that I would say is about 30% of our hardwood business you're right Madison itself has become with all the accolades that Madison has has accrued being one of the best places to live in the country and stuff like that we do attract people from other areas and I think really what what they're doing when they're bringing to this community is a lot of those trends when I say some of those trends aren't here quite yet the people that are coming from the coasts and things like that that's where a lot of trends start they're bringing a lot of that with them and maybe that's moving those things through quicker people are a huge part of what makes us successful you have to have the right people partnering with the right manufacturers for you and the type of business that you want is another another huge part of it I think you know we've chosen certain certain vendors certain manufacturers that we think are gonna be very good for our business and we're loyal to them that's that's something also that you don't see as much anymore and that's that that's to me that's a shame and you should the loyalty is is a big factor I thank you for them so for us any
