hey guys welcome back know the key is off hey guys welcome back to my channel so today I want to bring it back to the flowers because I kind of miss working with them I feel like the last two projects we did we only worked with resin and alcohol ink which is fun but working with flowers is like my thing so what I want to do is actually kind of an experiment I get questions about this daily people ask all the time but can I put fresh flowers in resin and I have had people comment and say that they were able to put fresh flowers and resin it was successful for them I have never experienced that I've only ever experienced a flower turning brown or yellow like fresh into resin and so what I want to do is a side by side I'm going to have three different flowers by the way just wanna let you guys know if you hear any like whooshing sounds it's pouring outside and there's nothing I can do about it so if you would like to see what happens when you put fresh flowers versus dry flowers in resin then continue watching to see some Brown flowers awesome so what I'm gonna do is a side-by-side I have three different flowers and I have two stems of them does that make sense so I have two stems of a shimmer rose look how beautiful oh they're so like oh look at her she is so roughly and gorgeous and then I have two stems of chocolate Queen Anne's lace ooh I love that I love chocolate Queen Anne's lace I mean I love regular Queen Anne's lace as well but the brown is so pretty and then - well three three heads of I think this was called Alyssa rose lisianthus if if that makes any sense to you look how pretty again super roughly like this one that is everything what I want to do is have one of these be fresh and then the other one be dried and I want to show you guys a comparison with the same flowers what will happen with them obviously we're not testing every single kind of flower that there is that would probably take me a really long time so I am gonna dry them with my Meg groom Fleur that we tested in a previous video I'll try to link that up top or in the description but this is a microwave flower press flower drying press thing so I am going to dry one of each of these flowers in my microwave press and then we are going to get started and see what happens [Music] [Music] okay so plans have changed does that surprise you at all probably not if you've watched any of my videos at all so flowers are dried and they came out really pretty so this is the shimmer rose I know very different than the first time you saw it and then this is the lisianthus super pretty and then this is the Queen Anne's lace which oh there's just so cool to flatten out and dry because it looks like a firework so those are our dried ones and then we obviously got the same ones over here but what I didn't pay any mind to is that this is not going to fit into one of these molds so I have pulled out three bigger molds because the flowers that I dried I know are gonna come out fine so the reason I pulled these out is because I don't want to waste too much resin so the flowers that are going to go in fresh are gonna go in this mold ouch because I don't want to waste enough that I don't want to waste that much resin so we're gonna use this mold because it's nice and small and we'll just go like squeeze them in there but as far as the dry flowers go I'm gonna put them in these bigger ones so I'm gonna flip the angle down so that you guys can see me kind of like deconstruct this a little bit and put it in the mold we're gonna mix up some resin pour that in and we're gonna get this going [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh am i okay something that's actually quite interesting to me is that none of them none of the ones that are fresh flowers into resin are kind of turning nasty colors as of yet they still definitely have time to do that um but if they come out colored I'm going to be extremely surprised and question what the heck happened every time I put fresh flowers in resin before and they turned ugly colors I'm going to let these sit for around five hours and I'm gonna put a second coat on top this this this rose this rose maybe in a different mold the next time you see it just because it's so I didn't flatten it or anything so it might be in a different mold the next time you see it but we will for sure be popping these out tomorrow I'm I'm honestly so curious like I'm so excited to pop these out I didn't think that this was gonna I thought they were gonna okay I've done this before I've done this many times before putting fresh flowers in resin because I didn't know that you had to dry them first but maybe you don't have to I don't know maybe I picked the three perfect flowers that will not Brown or turn yellow in resin who knows but we're gonna find out about these three tomorrow and then we'll compare them to the ones that we dried and see like which ones came out better oh my god what if but like what if right what if the ones that are fresh come out nicer this is new me crazy okay I'll see you guys I'll probably see you guys tomorrow [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay guys so I feel like the results were pretty interesting I knew that the rows that we didn't dry and it was fresh would turn a nasty color and it did not disappoint in the nasty color department but as far as the as far as the rose we did dry obviously it does lose some color because you're you know stripping the flower of moisture so it's not as like beautiful and perfect as it was when I bought it but it still does have like a nice pink like blushy tone to it oh my god is this not the most beautiful coaster you have ever seen in your life it is so pretty this mold is so oh it's so pretty I'll put a link down in the description where I got this the lisianthus so like I said in the beginning these are all the same exact flowers so this is so pink and so like perfect and beautiful and then this one is like super yellowy green it's still kind of cool-looking but it's definitely not this you know I'm saying so I feel like that's a huge huge difference but what I'm actually really surprised about is the Queen Anne's lace like right I almost feel like this one is a little bit better right I understand that the little brown hearts at the end are so like there's so much better they're so pretty because when you have to dryclean as lace you kind of lose some of that if they're definitely like when they're dry they're definitely more green and they stay like definitely the small one stayed perfectly green like it was so as far as the roses we did the lisianthus and the Queen Anne's lace that is what happens when you put fresh flowers in resin I just wanted to show you guys this because I know how devastating it is to put a fresh flower in resin and watch it turn yucky colors and I get that question all the time whether they can it fresh flowers in residence so I wanted to answer it with a video to show you guys exactly what happened so I
