I was surprised that there wasn't a fake hit. Maybe because of the cameras.
I was pleasantly surprised how well this went. I guess I was just expecting the worst.
Seemed alright to me. Upvote for professional cops.
i wouldn't risk driving a car with the paperwork that screwed up in the first place.
This seemed like it was fine to me. Any issues would be with illegal policy and not the police in any way violating that grey area policy. No indication that these were bad cops at all. The law requires the cop to tell you his name and badge number when asked, he was a dick about it after not giving it a second time, but guess what, thats legal. If we agree that it is fine for civilians to be dicks to cops as long as they follow the letter of the law then we have to accept the officers rights to be dicks to civilians when they do follow the letter of the law and don't violate civilians rights. Overall I saw nothing about these cops that wasn't completely acceptable behavior. Good cops as far as I can tell.
So I don't get it. "I don't consent to searches" so they bring a dog and make you wait an extra 30-1hr ? There's nothing you can do about it?
Whats frustrating for me is that he has the dog check the same spot 3-5 times.
My question is, when the officer gave you his name and badge number, he went so fast that a reasonable person wouldn't be able to catch the information. Does it have to be given in a clear manner?
That officer is leading his dog. You're not suppose to do that tapping with your hand and exciting the dog. I would suspect that officer gets a lot of false positives with that technique.
Oh, but guess what, they don't track that! Dogs are infallible, that's all we need to know, citizens. Stop asking questions and start answering mine, son!
