Welcome Laravel 11

hello L friends today marks a significant Milestone we are thrilled to announce the launch of larel 11 packed with enhancements and Innovative features designed just for you join me as we explore what's new and exciting in this remarkable [Music] release Taylor's vision for level 11 was to streamline it make it lean and more minimalistic over the years level has grown quite a lot and you might have encountered many configurations file you've never needed to use we also want to make sure that new developers feel empowered and inspired from the beginning rather than overwhelmed so the app folder has been massively simplified we got rid of the HTTP and the console kernels and you won't find the middleware folder anymore which contained nine files before also the providers directory now only contains one app provider you can see the new structure is already a lot cleaner and feels just so fresh but of course you won't lose all those customizations the bootstrap app.php file is the new place to customize your application the main route files are already defined and the methods with mware and with exceptions let you adapt your apps Behavior you will also see that only the VAP and the console routes are defined here the ones for API and channels are no longer included by default if you need them you can easily restore them with aound commands install API and install broadcasting it's important to mention here that if you upgrade your level 10 application to 11 you don't have to make any of those changes if you don't want to it will work just as before and you can decide for yourself if you want the new structure to we also have made some new updates for new level installations the default option for your testing framework is now passed and for your database it is SQ light of course you can just pick whatever you prefer but with sqlite we can create your database file and make create it immediately you also don't have to consider installing additional software or creating a database locally you are ready to go you might have also noticed a new health argument to the with routing method which I've shown you before this is also a new feature and level an endpoint to check your apps Health third party applications like Health monitoring Services can use it there is also a nice Health event dispatch that you can listen to and add additional checks if you want to we've also introduced A New Concept with the beautiful name graceful encryption key rotation it handles situations where you change your application key and suddenly all of your users are locked out that's because cookie are encrypted using this key in level 11 you can now Define previous Keys as well when decrypting values level will always try the current key but if this does not work it will try the previous ones of course encryption will always only use the current key this new feature will help to provide your users a better experience when changing your application key and I have one more for you testing whether a cute jop was released deleted or delayed was cumbersome and required custom fakes and stops not so much fun but not anymore with the whiff Q interactions method you can handle your job and afterward run this new excellent assertions on it so much better wow that was already a lot of course there is much more in this release for you like per second rate limiting model cast improvements new Aron commands and much more but we'll call it a day here and I'll link you to all the other new features Below in the description we are incredibly excited about level 11 and I hope you are too finally share all these exciting features with you feels just so amazing and we are delighted that the big reveal is finally here we'd love to hear from you drop a comment below letting us know which feature you like the most here's to a thrilling Journey with level 11 until the next time [Music] bye
