guys are here if you need earplugs wait till after I'm done talking but they're back there I'll be offended if you put them in before but we have a special day today we gave you baptisms and so really quick before I introduce these ladies up here I just want to explain this because this is something this is one of my favorite things to do and I also feel like it's my God's favorite things to do and so this is something that religion has so stolen the meaning and the significance of the Holy Ghost won't be denied so the way that baptism is not just a symbolic act and just a cool little act of obedience to Jesus like if it was just that that would be awesome and God would be on it but it's actually a prophetic act it's something that that when you do this it actually releases a spiritual reality to you that wasn't available before that act of obedience and so baptism represents us being coke crucified buried and rising again with Christ and there's something so significant that happens the the grace to walk in the resurrected life of Jesus is released upon you when you come up out of the water you know we just got to spend some time with David Hogan and we were talking to him and asking him about his views on and Heidi Baker's views on it because they're friends and he said in our world we don't know the difference between the baptism and water and the baptismal holy spirit cuz they happen at the same time it is is part of the reality is you come about that water and Holy Spirit meets you there you see this you see this where Jesus gets baptized and it says it's the public declaration is starting up his ministry and that the Holy Spirit comes upon him and then something else happens the father declares over him this is my son and whom I'm well pleased so baptism is a releasing of the supernatural power upon you to walk in who you're supposed to be to walk in the Christian life and it's your declaration of the world that you're following Jesus but it's also God's declaration of the world that you're his and so today we got to be a part of these two ladies having God declare over them these two are mine this is his moment declaring to the world they're mine from this point for they're mine so you guys ready for that so first up we've got grease Oh Bree why would you like to be baptized I'd like to be baptized because I want to just bring these things into the physical realm like my testimony every breath and every day I'm living as a gift and a testimony to his goodness in his life [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I'm getting baptized for the King of glory to come on through and I just wanted to tell you what was happening right now as you guys were singing those words for a week now I've been seeing principalities and just different things kind of sitting right at the Gateway he's right at the doorways the doors are open and Jesus had already blazed a trail through because he's the original trailblazer the original pioneer he already made away but there's these squatters that have been sitting intimidation sitting at the gates and at the doors for your personal life for the city and for this church and as you guys were singing that let it Barrow let it bow you alone are worthy Jesus those things are just disappearing those things are bowing down to the lordship of Jesus and here's what God wants to do the King of glory wants to go through those doors once again but the King of glory inside of you wants to show you the way that he's already taken [Music] for the King of glory the King of glory through the doors we're going through the gates you were the original pioneer god you went before us show us the way God show us the way God it shows the way God show us the way God show us the way that you made God you made the you made the way you made the way make way make way make the king of glory make way for the king of glory make way put your hands on your belly right now [Music] oh my count of was thinking about the scripture in Ephesians where it says that Jesus sits in the heavenlies and everything's under his feet and that we sit in the heavenlies with him we sit in the heavenlies with him so everything is under our feet everything no demon from Hell no spirit of speculation no fear no doubts no worries it's all under our feet he can't give us any more than all he gave it all to us and we just get a step in that and walk in that so if we're having when I heard the two words I heard recently was obstruction and obscure and that the enemy has tried to and I don't like to even give him any attention at all but we're very aware that he's there so his thing is to obscure your hearing and you're seeing so what that means is that he's obscuring it that he's hiding it that he's covering it that there's a veil over it and what the Lord wants to do today is he wants to remove that obstruction he wants to open up all of your hearing and all of your scene and all of the gifts that he's placed within you anything that is against that has to bow you guys are all lawyers who are all lawyers were sons and daughters of the Most High I mean we have gifts talents and abilities that we don't even use because we've let know that we've let them be covered we've let them be hidden they've been secluded they've been isolated today's the day that he wants you to pop out of that so yeah I'm just gonna pray over you so god I just thank you right now just close your eyes and receive this I just think you right now God that you're removing you're removing all of the obstacles everything that is obscured are seeing in our hearing I think you're right now that you're just waking up you're waking up you're waking up all of those gifts talents and abilities that you've placed in each person that no longer will they lie dormant no longer wake up wake up wake up wake up wake up you've been hidden you've been concealed and it was a setup from the enemy he says no more no more wake up wake up all of those things that have been stirring in you he wants to wake those things up fear of man that's a huge one let's get rid of fear of man once and for all he already did that for us on the cross fear of man be gone in the name of Jesus thank you lord thank you lord you're so good you're so incredibly good you've done all for us everything for us are you guys excited about the gifts and the talents and the abilities as these placed within you are we gonna change a city if we're not excited about what lies within us thank you lord thank you Jesus thank you for using the cover thank you for removing the blinds thank you that nothing can cause any more obstruction that we're very much out there on the front lines and nothing is going to stop us and all things that are not of you will bow you have the authority and the power to tell everything to bow and it has to obey you because Jesus lives in you that's a lot of power and authority thank you lord I thank you that were sons and we're daughters and that you have well equipped us and we have all that we need we're not lacking in anything thank you lord thank you Jesus I think you guys should thank him he's given your mind on the father and make sure that he's the one speaking to you about what's in your wallet all right so let's uh we can start figure that out sorry okay and now we're gonna pray and we're gonna declare and if you'll say this with me we can do it together all right one two three guys I'll start as we received new businesses [Applause] and we welcome pastor Jim Baker all right and I feel like some of you were giving some extra shush on those declarations there my goodness gracious it was guys like this section over here was especially high octane during those so thank you for that well we are in a serious called wealth with God and we are going to build wealth with God how does that sound so I was reading a business book by a non-christian author and he's really good author but it's interesting he talked about his whole motivation for building wealth is when he was young you grew up very poor you know they you grew up with a single mom and he said one day mom I'm going to be rich so one day we never again have to worry about money I've got some really good news for you your financial situation does not dictate whether or not you worry about money your belief about truth dictates whether or not you worry about money by the time we're done today you can actually step into financial freedom financial freedom begins when you learn to turn your finances over to God because if you're in charge guess what you're in a recession you do not have any you you are left to the whims of the economy to gas prices oil prices and all that heaven is never in a recession the enemy has a bud has a budget God has abundance and so we are going to we are going to anchor our heart and that unseen realm and if we don't get this part right nothing else I teach on the finances will work for you because you're just gonna be trying to use principles to manipulate God so you guys ready okay so they've actually the scientist have done study and they've actually discovered that there's something in the brain of an infant called joy centers and children are actually trained to learn what joy is like and if they do not get trained in their first couple years they have a very difficult time that part of their brain does not develop and so here's how it gets developed is by the the smiling faces of their caregivers there's something about the wrinkle of the eyes there's something about the the goofy voices that we make you know they're not actually words you know and just the way that we come upon cross to those children it actually activates and trains those kids enjoy this tells me why a lot of Christians do not have join their life is they have never seen the shining face of their father over them they've never experienced a countenance of a father who delights in them and actually here's what it says in the Bible he rejoices over you with singing I've got some good news God has given us a prayer to straighten that whole thing out we actually just quoted it a minute ago Psalm 67 verses 1 & 2 may God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us that your way may be known on earth your saving power among all nations I don't know what you gang but that sounds like revival to me this is actually a prayer for blessing I've got some good news for you it's actually legal to seek blessing in fact one of the most selfish things that a Christian can do is to not desire blessing in their life I'm ask you a question what if prosperity is not optional for the believer what if you're actually required to be blessed when God only provides for your needs the world will never have a revelation of an abundant father they're never gonna know what dad is really like so David prays this prayer may God be gracious to us in other words may God's supernatural flow come into my life to enable impossible things to happen that's what it means for God to be gracious to you and make his fate and to bless us here's what blessing means may God constantly bring good into your life do you see how powerful this prayer is and make his face to shine upon us if you've ever seen the way a grandparent looks at their grandchild you begin to get a glimpse of what it is to have a shining face and David's praying this prayer that we would live under the shining face of God not up there with his arms folded not walk on the aisles with a ruler looking to see if you're good enough because of Jesus you come into this family and you live under the shining face of God why so that your way may be known on earth your saving power among all nations here's our attitude God put your hand a blessing upon me so people will see what you're really like not so that I can build my own Kingdom now so I can stockpile wealth but guys so that people will literally see how good you are because people lack an awareness of how good God is one of the most underrated tools for ministering to this world is having a blessed life I don't know Jim this sounds to me like a bless me club well guess what when you got saved you didn't sign up for a curse me club and here's the deal with Christians the more we're blessed the bigger a blessing we become they started back with uh with a father Abraham had many sons guys we need to bring that thing back sometime I need to get in shape first for that thing head up head down I think was awesome What did he say he said this is the promise to Abraham's children I will bless you to make you a blessing think of it this way you were obligated to be blessed and blessing is never measured by dollars alone dollars are just a byproduct it's measured by favor in open doors and wisdom and creativity and strategies and relationships and divine connections part of your blessing is actually to learn to enjoy the material goods that God has given you the religious sphere would come and say anytime you get something nice you got to give it away you gotta apologize you gotta explain to all your friends why listen you should be embarrassed by the busting of God in your life okay bill Johnson says this you can either use blessing to shape the course of world history or build a golden calf God is looking for people who love not the world so that he can give them the world only those who have a greater affection for his world can be entrusted with the goods of this one that's what we're talking about here gang what if the greatest revival that this world would ever see would come from God's goodness coming upon people and the world becoming jealous I'm about to give you a verse on this thing I'm not going loco by myself up here evangelism through jealousy why did God bless Israel because he loved the Gentiles and Israel was to be a light to the nation's the other nations were to say why is it that your crops never fail why is it that you don't get sick how come when you get sick you get healed how come your women don't miscarry how come you've got pure drinking water why is this oh it's because you're in relationship with the one true God What did he say we're to be a light to the world Jim the Lord is interested in evangelizing the nations and missions that's absolutely true you'll just have a louder voice if you're blessed you will never have influence in the business community if you're not prosperous there's a verse in Ecclesiastes 9 16 it sounds mean but it's true a poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heated listen gang I'm not sure if you noticed but most of Columbus has not fit into this room today they are not coming to church and they do not feel guilty about it remember maritime a vacation one time we were sitting there and we didn't go to church that Sunday morning or reading at a restaurant I remember looking around thinking these people are not like feeling guilty about not going to church they're there feeling awesome they're like I made a great decision today I didn't go to church like like that it's not even on their radar we can talk about his goodness and here we need to learn about it but they actually need to see it when we walk out of these doors what they need is an encounter with you and I shine with His goodness in our life they need to look at your life in my life and see ah that's what it means to be in a relationship with a good God they need to see a husband and wife who actually love each other and they love each other more and more a decade after decade after decade they need to see families where kids are old enough to not have to spend time with their parents but they choose to anyway people full of joy even in challenging circumstances why does that person's business continue to thrive even in the down economy oh it's because they've got a good God Exodus 15:26 I'm the Lord your healer I removed sickness and disease from your midst why are these people never sick they just seem to walk in divine health hey gang these are just Old Covenant blessings I've jokingly said before like my dream is to just get the church up to Old Covenant level blessings divine health here's what the book of Hebrews says is we've got a new covenant with better promises can we just look at some of the old covenant promises about about finances Deuteronomy 28 I'll begin in verse 2 and all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you I'm not sure if you ever been driving along in your little car I was sound like a giant semi just zooms by and it's like like the wake of it just kind of catches you and takes you you know what that is that's that truck overtaking you that's a picture of God said all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you you're like hold on Jim I was just talking about spiritual blessings well I invite you to keep reading you ready for what it says this is a picture of God's desire to bless you but now he's got even better promises in this so let's just start with these you ready again blessing is not my idea blessing is God's idea I'm not trying to convince him he's trying to get mints me you ready for this bless this is verse 3 blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field doesn't matter whether you're shopping or working you're blessed blessed shall be the fruit of your womb your children will be blessed and the fruit of the ground and the fruit of your cattle the increase of your herd and a young of your flock all of your reproducing wealth will be blessed blessed shall your basket be and your kneading Bowl food was a real concern in agricultural society and he's saying you will always have plenty blessed are you guys getting this you sayin this is gonna come upon you and overtake you blessed shall you be when you come in and bless but shall you be when you go out it doesn't matter where you go blast blast blast the Lord will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you in fleece seven different ways guess what nowadays our enemies are not people if you can hug them they're not your enemy we wrestle against not against flesh and blood not against humans but against principalities means you have authority over every demon they run in fear when you wake up in the morning they're like oh no I hope they don't realize who they are blast the Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns what were barns they were the savings accounts and in all that you undertake oh I'm not done I'm not done yet there's still more it gets better the Lord will make you abound in prosperity and the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of their ground your family and your finances blessed the Lord will open to you his good Treasury the heavens to give you a reign to your land and it's season and to bless all the work of your hands and you shall lend to many nations but you shall not borrow we can still use our credit cards to get the airline miles but we don't have to and the Lord shall make you the head and not the tail and you shall only go up but not down all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you and he's saying hey I've got even better promises but I want you just to catch the heart of God this is what he has for you this is the kind of relationship you've had has for you and says I want you to go and shine people need to see the unusual favor of God upon your life and my life I just say it again people need to see the unusual favor of God upon your life and my life and so he has this amazing prayer let your face shine upon me because if it doesn't they're never gonna know what you're really like but if it does shine upon me then it will release salvation to the nation's most into this prayer this is my declaration over Columbus Jeremiah 33 9 and this city shall be to me a name of joy a praise and the glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it what's this saying that there will be a great move of God coming to a city just because of the goodness of God coming upon his people and it releases a fear the Lord and they save who are these people and who is their God evangelism by jealousy I don't know what that does to you it's got to matter to somebody sinful unbelieving hard-hearted Israel cannot have the pinnacle of God's blessings on planet Earth I like to welcome you today and oh which party do you want me say guys the old covenant promises that sinful unbelieving hard-hearted Israel apart from Jesus apart from the Holy Spirit they walked in divine health they walked through the desert for forty years and their clothes didn't wear out they had supernatural provision of food because God was training them to have the kind of trust that they would need to slay Giants and take walled cities I tell you this much gang if you can't trust God in the desert you will never trust him in the promised land and where there's a well there's a whole bunch of abundance there's a whole lot more distractions in the Promised Land and in the desert you got a bunch of sand in front of ya it's got easy to trust there can I give you the key to the whole thing or I'm about to tell you I believe is the number one reason why Christians are not blessed financially even though they love God even though they're giving if you do not take care of this issue in the heart it's going to severely limit God's ability to bless you it's like putting up an umbrella so his rain doesn't get to touch you so let's pull down the umbrella and get soaked in His goodness but we've got to remove this thing so you guys ready Matthew chapter 6 verse 24 no one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other you cannot serve God and Mammon many of your Bibles probably say money but there's a little footnote there and if you look in the margin the actual word there is Mammon and so if you do not have this issue of muddled up money settled in your heart here's what's going to happen every time the preacher talks about money you're gonna be squirming and say when's he gonna be done when's he gonna go on to the next series why because you love money and you're so afraid the preacher is going to try to pry it out of your finger tip so if you're sitting here and you hate me right now and you just want me to stop I just invite you to stop loving your money and stop being devoted to that and break this thing off your heart [Laughter] yes Amen preacher this is so good you cannot serve God and Mammon notice this was written to believers he didn't say hey it's gonna be difficult to do both he says absolutely impossible that if your heart is given over to trusting and money you cannot serve God at the same time so here's the question what is Mammon Mammon is the demonic power behind money originally it was the demon god of Syria and his name meant the power of riches here's what's happening the Bible setting up the two gods there's the one true God that you can put your heart and trust into or there's this demon god of money that you can put your heart trust in trust into Mammon tries to get you to look to money the way that you're supposed to look to God when you begin to feel more secure when your checking account has more money in it than when it doesn't that's the spirit of Mammon because your security is supposed to come from God it's not supposed to come from money so what's it look like to serve Mammon here Mammon uses deception there's no demon that comes out was like ah I'm the spirit of Mammon serve day you'd be like ah I'm gonna pass on that one alright there's probably not many are in here like hey sign me up for that deal that sounds amazing I said how it works you use the deception and it's it's summarized in these two words not enough so he's gonna get you with fear there's not enough he's gonna get you with greed there's not enough so here I'm gonna read you some popular Bible verses and I'm going to tell you what it sounds like when you hear it through the lens of spirit of Mammon you guys ready for this where does my help come from my help comes from money money is my shepherd I shall not be in want when I have enough of it when I have money it makes me lie down in still waters even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death if I have money it comforts me money is an ever-present help in time of need money gives me the peace that passes understanding my money shall supply all my needs my people perish for a lack of money a day in the mall was better than thousands elsewhere see behind Mammon is this great lie it says yeah God's gonna take care of those super Saints and everything and those stories that you hear those missionaries but we know you're not a super scene so what you need to do is you need to think a lot about money and dream and scheme and plan and worry and spend a lot of time thinking about money because no one's gonna take care of you except you here's the truth you don't need more money you need to understand God better if you believe your problem is money that's a bigger problem than your problem when it comes to giving here's what it looks like for the spirit of Mammon yeah I'll give as long as you can give me an assurance that I'm going to get a return on my money because I can't afford to let that stuff go so preachers have got to do all these gymnastics and cartwheels and all this stuff to convince them that if they give God we'll give it back to them with interest that's the spirit of Mammon here's what it looks like at a Christian conference is on people will go out and spend their money on resources at the book table but if they ask the people to pray about giving an offering to the poor they won't even consider it because Mammon only does something when it gets something that's the spirit of Mammon so what does it look like to serve or to worship ma'am and he says you cannot serve two masters we get it in the very next verse Matthew 6:25 therefore I tell you do not be anxious about your life what you will eat or what you will drink or about your body what you will put on is not life more than food in the body more than clothing you guys ready for this anxiety and worship is to the spirit of Mammon high praise and worship is to the one true God when you're worried and stressed out and anxious about money you're literally bowing your knee to the Spirit of Mammon and giving it worship you're letting your heart get caught up in an inferior Kingdom fear is faith in the devil worry is a form of atheism because it's imagining a future without God faith is imagining a future with God in it Bobby Connor says this worry is a sin to be repented of not an emotion to be met cated dramatic pause worried is a sin to be repented I'll not an emotion to be medicated listen gang God's supernatural cannot flow into your life when you are surrounded by fear and worry okay that's what we got to break this thing off because he's up there ready to have his blessings come upon you and overtake you but if you're worried it's gonna be like Teflon they just slide right off you don't need more money you need a greater relationship with the source and until you're convinced of that you're gonna be deceived by the Spirit of Mammon how many you guys remember Elijah the Old Testament prophet well she just loved those Old Testament prophets man think they had it rough I think we look at though I mean we're like that would have been no it would not have been awesome okay um Isaiah he walked around naked for three years buck naked like I don't even take my shirt off at the pool like nobody needs to see this not just the glare spots from being so white and the retinal damage it could cause I'm not just talking about that I mean it's that's a humbling thing yeah I always tell people you know you don't get a body like this overnight it takes years of neglect right I mean right now the only way you can tell my back from my chest is the presence of two nipples it's just kind of straight down okay [Applause] so to walk around naked for three years is just astounding to me Old Testament prophet hosea he marries a girl named Gomer who was a prostitute I'm thinking dude her name was Gomer that should have been a sign that something was about to go bad apologies Denny gomers in the audience Ezekiel had to cook his food over his own dung I mean when you're in junior high that's like probably hilarious but when you're an adult that's nasty all right you can see why the church has been a nonprofit organization for so long now don't don't encourage that doe not encourage that kind of behavior No so Elijah he's an Old Testament prophet says Elijah I want you to go and prophesy a famine alai just like I'm an Old Testament prophet we love prophesying famines like we live for this kind of stuff and he's like great I want you to prophesy it in the land that you're living in prophets they had it rough so Elisha prophesized the famine I'm sure in his heart he's like man can we do this like the Philistines or something no it's in the land you're living so you prophesized it in God says listen I've got a plan for you I've got this brook named Cherith and what's gonna happen is they're gonna have Amazon now is gonna fly in special delivery food services for you though the Ravens are gonna bring you food it's gonna be amazing so he's there everyone else is starving he's got this sweet setup with God and then the brook dries up what happens that many Christians when they're brook dries up they begin freaking out the Bible doesn't work giving doesn't work the preacher lied and also what happens the spirit of Mammon begins to come on them and clouds their judgment - how how good God really is let me just give you this do not confuse the source with the resource your resource will change many times during your life it could be with this job it could be that job it could be your parents it could be income from this source your resource will change many times during your life the source will never change Elijah had to learn that so every time the resource of provision changed in Elijah's life here's the very next verse already for this and the word of the Lord came to Elijah when your brook dries up when your resource to provision changes what do you need to do you need to get the word of the Lord and so God says this I want you to go to this city named Zarephath and I want you to find a widow there now I'm not sure if you guys realize this some widows in the ancient Near East we're not awesome resources of provision there weren't like a lot of female entrepreneurs on Shark Tank in the ancient Near East women and in the in those countries they didn't have like a whole lot more rights and freedom than like women and the Muslim countries do today ask you guys a quick sidenote it's interesting throughout scripture Jesus is continually trying to unveil his bride the book of Revelation literally translated the unveiling the counterfeit that is Islam which is continually trying to veil and mask the Brydon here's the freebie so he says go and find this Widow and so he goes there and there's this there's this Widow there and says she's foraging through the rubble trying to find enough sticks to make a fire that's not a good sign and then so Elijah goes up turn he says hey um could you make me something to eat and she's like listen this is a bad time right now my son and I we just got a little bit of flour and a little bit of oil we're gonna start this little fire we're gonna bake this last little cake and then we're going to eat it and die like that's not like the mighty faith declaration you're looking for and your new resource of provision here right I'm telling you the old testament prophets had it rough and so at this point I'm expecting Elijah to take up an offering I'm expecting like fine some people a means and the city say listen this poor widow we needed to take it up and offering for so Elijah does take up an offering for himself do you guys remember this part of the story well I just says hey lady bake me a cake as fast as you can my Matt he says go and bake a cake and bring it to me that I might eat of it can you guys just see the headlines in the newspaper prophet of God takes last meal from Widow why is Elijah doing this Elijah is not after her flour and oil her trust was completely on her resource the spirit of Mammon had got ahold of her heart and said your life is dependent on the flour and the oil and you can't afford to let go this thing Elisha knew if he could get her eyes off of the resource and up to the source then God's supernatural could come into her life and sustain her and prosper her throughout the whole throughout the whole famine listen guys God ain't after your money he's not broke he's not in a recession again when you do things apart from God you're in a recession because it's just up to you here's the truth that guy that God wants us to get nobody can take better care of you than dad and just just let that phrase wash over your heart nobody can take better care of you than dad Mammon puts a deep fear in your heart that God's not going to take care of you so what the enemy does he's gonna remind you of periods of disappointment periods of lack in your life he's gonna try to get you to normalize that okay do not create a theology out of your disappointments none of us have experienced 100% of God's best for us in every area but that doesn't mean we can't stop that we're going to stop pursuing what scripture says to get that into our life here's my attitude if it's in the Bible it's going to be in my life so let's see what's available because of Jesus and said that as our compass headings rather than our disappointments here's the deal it always starts with what's in your hand because God cannot multiply nothing what do most people say I got nothing and a little the widow way I also got this little bit of flour and oil that's enough whatever you have in your hand that's enough and when the widow released what she had in her hand back to God and saw him as a source God's supernatural came into her life and sustained her I'm going to give you a 15-second sermon on finances but then I'm gonna talk a little more but here's the 15-second sermon you guys ready for this if you've been around church for a while and heard giving taught on you're going to hear every single point that I've said you've heard it all before everything I'm going to say is true and yet for 99.9% of believers it's not working see you guys ready for this remember this is all true here it is so the preacher starts off who needs more finances yes preacher we need more finances and he begins his three-point sermon I'm not sure why pastors always do three-point sermons maybe it's because of the Trinity I don't know point number one poverty and lack are not God's will absolutely true point number two begins to teach on sowing and reaping and what you will so generously you will reap generously absolutely true in Scripture and number three when you so that you can actually get a fold return 36 - yeah even a 100 fold return how many of you guys have heard of sermons similar to this before okay so what's the problem the problem is it actually when the spirit of Mammon gets hold of these truths it actually reverses our relationship with God so that I'm now using God to go and get me more money see God's the master I'm the servant I'm supposed to take these dollars and turn them in soldiers to accomplish Kingdom purposes some of those purposes are to provide for my family to enjoy His goodness some of them are to actually be like a military move in our generosity to go and destroy the works of the devil in our city to bring good news to the kingdom's to house girls coming out of human trafficking just all the stuff that we love doing around here God is not the servant to go and get you money God is the goal and he is the price money is your servant to expand the kingdom of God so many times for the attitude is kind of like what you don't have enough money we're going to use God and God's principles to go and get you more money I love principles of the Bible but let me tell you the truth principles without the prince are more like witchcraft than they are the kingdom of God if I was doing a seminar called Supernatural finances many people would show up with this with this in mind how can I get God to give me more money that's the spirit of Mammon I've heard this taught so many times if you're experiencing financial lack the way to get your needs met is by sowing and reaping if you've got a need then sow a seed listen gang just because it rhymes doesn't means it's biblical okay Jesus actually taught against sowing and reaping to get your needs met look at the next verse Matthew 6:26 look at the birds of the air they neither sow nor reap nor store in barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them are you not more valuable than they provision doesn't come to you because you did something amazing the provision comes to you because God loves you more than birds if you don't have a conviction that you are a much more valuable than the birds than the rest of the teaching our finances gets twisted because it begins to get into works I've got to do something to pry open the hands of God when he's already like blast blast blast come upon you and overtake you that's my heart Jim are you saying that financial sowing and reaping with an expectation of return is wrong no not at all sowing and reaping is a biblical principle we'll talk about that at a future time but the way that it usually gets taught it nullifies grace and God's goodness and makes it a work where I do something it's like a slot machine I put something in I get something out this transactional thing listen if I had let's just say I had a five year old kid and my five year old came to me and said I gave away 10% of my sandwich at lunch can I have dinner I'd be a terrible father if my child thought they had to do something to impress me or in order for me to provide for them and yet so many times in the church God gets it gets taught this that if you do not tithe then the Devourer is gonna come and destroy your crops kind of like Guido from the Mafia our tithe is like hush money to keep Guido from the Mafia the hitman from coming and devouring your crops he is God the Father not the Godfather Matthew 6:26 again look at the birds of the air they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them are you not of much more value than they does anyone in here ever seen a bird having an anxiety attack no only Christians I've ever read a headline millions of birds died of starvation this year no you're never seen an anorexic bird and you never will because somehow on the inside of them they have this revelation nobody can take better care of me than dad if you're having a bad day does it go outside and if there's birds that are still alive they're gonna be fine if that doesn't work lamentations 3:23 3:23 says this that His mercies are new every single morning well Jim I blew it I had a horrible day yesterday a hole on the sun's out which I know in Ohio is sometimes difficult to find the Sun sometimes you have to find it behind faith it's behind that but it's there let's go look at California see if it's there ok if the sun is shining guess what it's a fresh start it's a fresh start with God no matter how much you blown it the previous days when a Christian worries it just tells me they haven't heard the news there's really good news that when you are born again you enter into a realm that is governed by a father who promises you don't have to worry about taking care of you I will worry about taking care of you you guys see how free you can be financially regardless of your financial situation when you give control of your finances over to God he assumes responsibility for all of your debts when you have respondent when you have control of your finances you assume all the responsibility for your debts and it even includes school loans apparently there's only one person in here with school loans ok I hear a second there we go let it be written let it be done alright Bible says become like little children you know when a baby joy right down there in the front row baby joy right now it does not look like she has a lot of worries right now she looks like she's drunk on milk and is sleeping quite nicely you know when a child is sleeping on mom or dad's lap they're not stressed out about how they're gonna pay for their college education who are they gonna marry what's going on with North Korea the price of gas should I should I not invest in Bitcoin babies not worried about that they're resting in their daddy's lap or their mommy's lap knowing that they're gonna take care of everything Jesus has become like little kids come to the point where I can say they had I don't have it all figured out but I've entered into a realm where you said you would supply all my needs sometimes at church we would get in these situations where we have like a line of people across the front who need prayer for physical healing and so sometimes Marin I go to these conferences and like we've been like the only ones on the ministry team to pray for people and so's like she'll start on one side there and I'll start on the other and it's it's it's like a long night okay and so I've never had this happen where I'm like man there's 15 more people I only think I got a healing anointing enough healing anointing left over for three people I've never been afraid of running out of a healing anointing why because I'm acutely aware that I am not the source of the healing anointing I'm tapping into a different source that's going through me right but I'll be honest with you sometimes when I feel the Lord challenging they're just in my heart challenge to give a larger check there's a fear that comes on me that I'm going to run out and there's not going to be enough because sometimes I'm deceived into thinking that I'm the source am I the only person in here who's ever done that some really good news Hebrews chapter 13 verses five and six from the amplified let us close your eyes and you just let this wash over you let your character or moral disposition be free from the love of money here's why you can be free from the love of money you guys ready for this for God himself has said I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support the Greek is so strong it says it three times I will not I will not I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake you nor let you down nor relax my hold on you assuredly not and guys that's good news so here's what I want to do I want to just give you a chance to talk to the Holy Spirit and get some of these lies broken about your finances so here's what I want you to do just to close your eyes and just ask Holy Spirit what is the lie that I'm believing about my finances and kind of a follow up what is a lie about who you want to be for me okay Cybil Holy Spirit what is the lie that I'm believing about my finances and what is the lie I'm believing about who you want to be for me and she'll give you a picture a phrase a word you're just kind of a sudden knowing so just take a moment with that here's the next question holy spirit what's the truth about my finances what's the truth about who you want to be for me so just take a moment some of your getting set free right now it's so good all right let's move on to something else here real quick I want to take up an offering but I want to take up an offering of your worries and not your money sometimes I like to just pause a little bit just to let the unrest of that settle in someplace you just say that you can just see the religious spirit just begin to grow horns I want to take an offering of your worries there's a there's an awesome passage in first Peter chapter 5 verse 7 cast your cares upon Jesus because he cares for you and so I want to give us a chance to take those worries and to give them to the Holy Spirit so we can break the spirit of Mammon off your hearts once and for all and so each one of you got an index card in your seat and so if you're watching this or listening to this I just encourage you get out a piece of paper and just participate with us but there should be an index card in there there's pens in the back of the chairs if you need one of those because I don't want you to do I want you to ask the Holy Spirit what am I worrying about or what am i carrying that you don't want me to carry and I want you to just when you get something I want you to write it on the card it's just gonna be between you and God and then we're going to give it as an offering to the Lord in just a moment so take a few moments in Holy Spirit what is it that I'm worrying about or what is it that I'm carrying that you don't want me to carry it could be about your kids your finance this could be a lot of different things you if you filled up the front and back of one card you need a second card will have special prayer for you let's take another moment so here's what I want to do I want us to cast these cares upon the Lord by doing this we're gonna count to three we're gonna pray for a moment I just let you kind of do a transaction between you and the Lord and when we're done I'm gonna ask you just to rip those things on the count of three and I just want the sound of that terror just to be like an incense offering to the Lord and so if you need to like tear it up a couple of different times and then stomp on that burn or whatever you need to do like please don't burn it in here and when you're done with your pieces of paper take them with you don't like leave it don't like do like graduation time confetti we're not gonna do that for it we okay our property manager thanks you but I do want you two to do it as unto the Lord and so I really believe this is the number one reason Christians are not prospering financially is because God's supernatural cannot flow and to worry and anxiety it's that spirit of Mammon that's trying to get you to trust in money and so by doing this you're saying god I'm recognizing these worries they don't belong to me I'm casting them on you and so I'm just holding on to these I want you to just hold it against your heart and let's just pray something like this I just pray it in your mind you don't have to repeat this God no one can take better care of me than you I am so excited to make trusting you the most wonderful adventure I'm going on an adventure with you and my finances I can't wait to know you by not just the letters on the page of a Bible but by experience through my finances I give you my worries I'm done with the spirit of Mammon I repent of fear worry stress anxiety and doubt over my finances forgive me for forgetting how big and good you really are so just take them home between you and God and just give these worries to him and then we're gonna break that spirit mmmm all right you guys got those cards ready all right and the count of three lord I give you my worries and the name of Jesus one two three wow that's awesome some of you are really going for it that is awesome as impressive someone like gnawing at it all right way to go all in just might as well one last thing today I want to give you a chance to step into financial freedom now by turning your finances over to God so we kind of gotten rid of the weeds in the garden of your heart and I won't want to plant this the seed here and let me just tell you this it's never too late to make a fresh start with your finances it all starts with recognizing God's the owner I'm his money manager you experienced financial Fritton in the moment you turn control your finances over to God and say God I'm asking you to leave this just like you leave the rest of my life God owns all things we actually own nothing I'm not sure if you guys have ever noticed the FedEx driver but this guy is amazing I mean he drives around all day just giving all day long package after package after package it's like he's not even worried about running out it's like he has something on the inside where he just knows tomorrow there's going to be more now the FedEx driver began to think look at this package it's from charming Charlie's my wife loves charming Charlie's mr. birthday coming up I think I'll take this and give it to her if he begins to act like the owner rather than the manager it begins to get a mess if you ever owned a business and the employees begin to act like the owner it begins to get a mess listen guys you and I are the FedEx driver our money is the packages and the foundation begins with recognizing God you're the owner I'm just your money manager when you begin to think you own things you're deceived you came into this world with nothing you will leave this world with nothing there's an old saying you've never seen a hearse on the way to a funeral pulling a u-haul trailer full of stuff God's the owner you're his money manager Luke 14:33 Jesus said none of you can be my disciple who does not give up all his own possessions 1st Corinthians 10 26 the earth is the Lord in all it contains I had this dream and in the dream I got up in front of an auditorium and I gave this message God wants his church back and there's no part of your life that he can point to and not be able to say mine if God is not Lord of your finances than who is you know what it means to call him Lord I live to do your will when you speak I do it if you do not have that relationship with God then I'm just asking you who is over your finances if God's not first in your finances he's not first in your life so let's make him first here I'm a rose doing a series on finances about five years ago and it turned out to be an eighteen part series I hadn't planned on it going that long but whoops and and so I think it was week two and I got a call from a tenant we have a house in North Carolina and the tenant gives me this sentence he says the foundation of the house is crumbling and it's gonna cost between thirty and fifty thousand dollars to fix it now listen I'm not a structural engineer I'm not a professional contractor there was nothing about that sentence that I enjoyed I'm thinking this is a mess it sounds like a mess to me and so guess what Mary and I before that we had turned over control of everything that we owned to God and so here's my attitude see what I said I said God's the sneakiest person in the universe I can't wait to see what he's gonna do and on week two I came and told the church I you can listen to the recording I said hey guys this is what's happened foundation the house is crumbling thirty to fifty thousand dollars I didn't have it at the time and I said by the time this series is over which I expected to be a six-week series I said I guarantee I'm going on record there will be a complete solution for this because it's God's house okay what happened week four so during that time I called a friend I just say hey man I need a miracle can you go over to the house as a friend in North Carolina so just see if God gives you a creative solution guess what God gave him a creative solution that was a permanent fix it cost $500 and the tenant paid for it so week four I got to get up there that might have been a little strut remember that problem how did that happen I didn't get stressed out I didn't get worried it wasn't my house I'm not talking about some cutesy technique I'm talking about we had anchored our heart into another realm and said God we've given this over to you what if you decided to make trusting God the most enjoyable thing ever but if you said God I'm going on an adventure with my finances with you yeah they're a little bit of a mess right now but I can't wait to see God you're the sneakiest person in the universe I can't wait to see what you're gonna do John Wesley the famous preacher he had there's a story someone came in and said mr. Wesley something terrible has happened your house is burned to the ground Wesley Wade the news than calmly replied no the Lord's house burned to the ground that means one less responsibility for me here's what I'm saying is you can when you get this settled in your heart you can literally walk in tomorrow to work the boss can hand you a pink slip and your blood pressure and your heartbeat does not race because nobody can take better care of you than dad oh my resource of provision has changed my source hasn't I can't wait to see what he's gonna do because I'm on an adventure with God one of my mentors he use a pastor in small churches traveled around and got ahold of these principals and became a multi-millionaire and so I was talking to him and he said Jim I said I've got over a million dollars in the bank everyone loves that part of the story here's the next part he said and I can't wait for God to ask me to give it all the way again there was three times in his life where God had had him give away everything including when his daughter was in college gave away all the money didn't how they were gonna make the he gave away many cars and one of the times he drove somewhere gave away the car didn't know ride home I don't think that that's for everybody I believe God has some people who have the gift of giving what happens to people with the gift of giving is when their nest egg begins to shrink they begin to get nervous and gods like I want to have a continual flow in your life but you got to take your hands off of it yes I do believe God will test certain people to give all and sell all just as a quick word of warning if there's ever a preacher getting up there and hinting that you need to sell all and give all to his ministry run for real when Jesus had people do it he said give it to the poor and so whenever somebody is hinting to make some giant contribution then it goes to their ministry just run are we good I just bring the room down are you ok financial freedom comes when you turn your finances over to God again this isn't some technique but you're literally anchoring your heart in another realm God's a sneakiest person in the universe I can't wait to see what he's gonna do nobody can take better care me than dad I'm gonna intervention with my finances so here's what I want you to do I want you to take out your wallet or your phone whatever it is that represents money to you I think this year we're gonna be looking to get a computer chip and your forehead or your wrist so you can give that way and very sorry it's a mark of the beast joke sorry joking and I'm not gonna we're not gonna do an offering what I'm gonna have you do is I just between you and the Lord whatever I just want something that represents your finances something that represents your money and we're gonna just pray a prayer and turn our finances over to God so everyone got it all right so just put it against your heart god you're the owner I'm your money manager the packages are not mine I'm just the delivery guy I'm going on an adventure with you I turned control of my finances over to you and I'm not taking back control I step into financial freedom now I never have to worry about finances again if there's a big mass there's gonna be a big solution in the name of Jesus amen that feel good alright let's stand for closing prayer Oh so Mary had an idea is spend another week on this foundational stuff and then we're really gonna get into kind of the how to's of prosperity and so I'm telling you if you don't have the heart stuff settled nothing else worked for you and so I can't spend eighteen weeks again dealing with all this stuff and so I just encourage you if you're kind of coming alive to this and you're like I want to get this I've had I I talked to somebody and they're like I've just listened to it for the third time in a row eighteen parts start again eighteen parts and so just to renew your mind into this kind of thinking so that's just pray for me Lord I bless your people help me Jesus I got problems you got solutions oh we love you hello we are on an adventure with you God we just we pray that prayer I'll bless us make your face shine upon us so that people will see your goodness Lord let us truly Pioneer what it looks like to have people do evangelism by jealousy let us truly understand what it means to at least walk in those Old Testament promises and begin to dip into the dip into the better promises God we want every drop of blood that Jesus paid for activated in our life God we want to see cities transformed God we want to see abortion eliminated in our city and no orphans not have a mom and dad now that there would be an adoption explosion in our city by the church yes thank you for that God we want to see human trafficking ended in our city God we want to see in gang members turn into apostles prophets evangelists pastors and teachers I want to see you go people to go from atheists to missionaries let our finances bring about a prophetic prosperity where it starts in the unseen realm has an effect on this scene Rome God we long for the greater riches the true riches of heaven God these earthly riches they're just a tool the guy let him be like soldiers in our hands making military moves in our city in our region God we hunger for this I know we've taken an awesome step today and so thank you for meeting us in the name of Jesus our ministry teams are coming forward to be the ones with tags on and our Columbus School supernatural ministry starts next week it's gonna be very exciting so
