We Bought an Abandoned Church Bus for $800, Will It Drive Home?

whoa guys got a sweet Marketplace find today a school bus for a th000 bucks we talked them down to 800 it's here at a church I feel bad after talking them down actually but brought the whole crew piled everyone in the wife's Yukon she's going to be pissed at how dirty this thing is got to get Gunner out of here he's here helping us today work on our school bus I don't know what we're going to do with it but it's got a Ford diesel in it and uh we're going to see if we get this thing started here we go ready 1 two three four this thing's pretty sweet ain't it it's a dut seeing it on Facebook and then I called him like hey come with me to go pick this thing up had to find some windows somewhere looks like someone punched them or something well they might just be permanently rolled down so this thing is a 1989 Ford bus what model is this thing I think it's a F700 it's got a 6.6 Ford motor in it you look like a natural yeah it just doesn't have the thing that folds out in the front though that's that's only that sucks about it but it does have the stop sign here with the air bag on her so here's the battery box I came out here and looked at it a minute ago yeah I think we can make them batteries fit yeah 7 of 15 what do you think Gunner there you go good job School in this thing so we got to check this thing out we did uh bring bring chaz's what you call it the swap me part tool boxes pick and pool pick and pool tool boxes tool boxes hey boy let's go inside come on yeah can you find it come on dude get in there all right so we need someone to get the toolbox because there's no key the uh we do have a title so this is not a stolen school bus here we got to steal it no no no no it's got a title but the people that bought the church the bus came with it and they can't find the key to it so we've got to bust this ignition out we'll make a key scary oh I just I don't gner come here we're going to have to strap your car seat in here somehow dude I don't know what the laws are on little tiny kids riding school buses but someone on YouTube will probably tell us this thing is sweet though check that out I just want to get her going and let take it out tonight fuel air filter and oil a good idea don't it yeah August of 2012 Rancho baby Ranch School Bus it's pretty dry out there right now no no no you got to unlock your rig oh yeah Amber's going to be real pleased about this there you go all right so it's on the other side we're going to have to use some ether she might just cheat right up guys we may not need to use any ether so uh we'll get the air intake off here just in case we need to uh use some ether on it we'll see the air filter looks looks brand new she don't look bad yeah got some wasp mess already been sprayed what do you think Gunner ready you go to school I found the key Bruce there it is all right that's a air filter and a half right there boy dang all right well let's get one thing done at a time I think it maybe smack it real hard in the center one time or what do you think well what's your expertise on this subject I've never stolen a vehicle before Bruce well I mean junkyard ignition same same don't tell me there's a key right there no way oh no that would have been too easy I bet you they did not see that though that would have been too easy maybe something right there yeah yeah that would have been way too easy got a spare belt down there get in there I mean as long as we got a screwdriver to crank on her I think we'll be good I think just smack her right there one time give her little one two smackeroo he we can get into swap meets and stuff for first surpris think can I don't know maybe not oh oh okay there we're off to a good start now I got to get this off of there this thing 89 baby so it's going to have a p rod on the top of that for the shifter and all kind oh I got Park reverse something got something there I got to get her to turn don't try this at home kids yeah right Call there's got to be something that we we can just hit or do something that makes it hey here we go I wonder if there's a YouTube video out here on how to do this yeah there's about to be really we need to call the Kia boys what do you think son if it's like an F-150 you take that uh little cover off the top of the column or why don't you get in here yeah why don't you do a push you have more data on it on it any of us just saying all right well here I'll I'll give her a go you need to break that thing off like right here there should be if it's like an F-150 all this moves and stuff yeah but there's a push rod that goes off the back of the ignition that goes down into there goes down and it my Ford truck in high school is broke Sil column does it hit something down in there maybe all right break that plastic cover but you got to cut it and it's going to be like a solid got a Sal all or a uh hacka should have brought a grinder I thought about it but I didn't good going the other problem you're going to run into though is your ignition no that that is going to turn 12vt on yeah but you're going to have to put a push button for the key to jump the ignition oh we a scared that there's no there is you have to pull the wires out all right so let's just keep keep going at trying to bust this apart but that's going to unlock your column oh the column's already good it is unlocked yeah oh oh so you just need that then to turn 12 power on yeah we just need to turn it on or 24 letting all the windows down yeah get some air flow in here all right we're going to break it Gunner watch that mullet's hot ain't it got my neck on [Music] fire how's it going are we getting anywhere yet one diver changed one ignition still stuck NOP there we go something's happening looks like you've done this before Bruce it's coming out no [Laughter] sir let's do this whoa doal rules what are you making there Bruce all right we're making a shiv for this ignition you used one of them before nope good thing you got proper eye stuff happening oh yeah every every time you swing the hammer your lips move we successfully removed everything about the ignition on here turns out Dakota was right don't tell him that though our Rod moves freely now all right let's put batteries in it all right guys we got to get these batteries out here I think they might slide except for them woolly boogers all right know I brought you guys along for some reason yeah for the Leatherman for the Leatherman these guys carry Leatherman with purpose they got jut out here keeping everybody well hydrated oh yeah get these probably you got you got your tool pack we'll get some pliers out of there you need pliers their problem is going to be is getting this thing to move another Leatherman so this thing is air BR and they seen itare belt inside there it must be for that air compressor so we're hoping nothing's like froze up anywhere going to cause us any problems I should have an Allison Transmission behind it these tires look brand new see what's going to happen is I brought Chaz and everybody out here and they be like we helped you get that bus we need to borrow it no we want to uh do a figure8 bus racing yeah what we're going to try after we take it to Rancho it ain't going to make it back from Rancho yeah be good out there put some mud grips on the we should just get some tractor tires on the back yeah just cut the whole fender well out and put one big tractor tire back there big point right I mean that's already what a 35 back every bit of it no those are bigger than 35s they're like 37s or 38 yeah brought Lake got him out of the house today getting him in there got one battery in one more to go we got some bigger more deep cycle batteries and in here before yeah you're leaving those right oh yeah the batteries stay with the bus I'll come back in a month these batteries will be something else oh let us know when you need to come start the bus up we'll get the batteries put for you will be back in there charge those all right let's see if she'll Che Got The Ether door's open go ahead we got power y push it all the way down what your cheat nothing how about your Park something's buzzing back here oh the door probably cuz the door's open how about now nothing move the shifter we're not off to it gets dark going all right so our starter solenoid is not engaging is a problem come on over here so we found the starter solenoid right here so go ahead and turn the power on let me make sure this uh fuel shut off L right here stays engaged oh I think it's going to start right up she's ready to fire I think it's going to fire up ready give a little help give her hold her hold her to the floor reverse it's in Reverse in Reverse reverse it's already moving reverse lights came on the be came on too the Flor [Music] on he ain't getting no fuel what's the fuel gauge say easy as will it start we've done fuel gauge says full all right let's crack some injectors we need a 19 ready power all right we're not getting fuel so let me find the there should be a primer pump somewhere should be there it is right there all right you can cut off let me try to prime the pump up all right so right here is our primer she ain't happy at all fuel pump here we all right guys we got fuel coming out our primer she's pissed though there we go yeah all right we got fuel at the pump now let's H cross her and hit her with the ether again she'll cheat all right ready key on yep power on there you go big ass wasp all right she's a alive you did it Dakota you got it Dakota's the man all right she should cheat with just one old Sparky here ready key on [Music] thing don't sound half bad got got my Refreshments oh boy all right we're in the school bus we going see we get this thing to move oh we got to release the brake first hang on I forgot there we go bre all right here we go we ain't got no power [Music] steering got no power [Music] there you go guys I had a neutral dropper a couple times year to go what do you think got you first school bus now I got to drive back to town school bus all right load up we got to see if the part of the stop sign Works think this thing has power steering it ain't working very good oh there is something in here I got to find a place to exit off this hill y'all just hold on we have to hit it running oh gosh oh she shifting good B3 smoking weed close the door everybody in your seats no stand there we go got a fan running so power steering oh brings back memories you know the bus i r with short bu your upgrade kind a luxury this still ain't a full link bu though got our fan running boy we're ready this there we go you need to sit down go to the back of the bus and do that [Music] [Music] all right guys we had to make a stop at Publix for these guys need some [Music] refreshments there you go they like the orange stay well guys I dropped my passengers off headed to the house I got be butt first there's something we got to do you guys already know the deal going to pull our old stop sign out yep y'all be quiet yep all right no this got to stay open while we're going over y all clear B There we go got a manager Spencer out here this morning he came over here to inspect the Busom now it's just got to put a pooper in the back and turn it into an RV shoot wow brand new rubbers on there they really are brand new tires like honestly 8 Grand let's see the date code runs dri 16 they 2015s those are good enough it won't leak cuz it's parked on the grass literally got the old L stop sign you know what we'll do we'll just put a string inside and then just oh maybe that's why oh the spring is gone to close it the spring we need to get a new spring put on it we don't stop for nobody do we finally got your bus there just medium bus yeah sorry this was not short enough we did the best we could all right even the front tires are in good shape they are old they're like 9 years old but they're they're full tread get it dude what if I ever bought something that's gas come on what's this little emblem here say diesel there she is so this thing does have an inline like P pump style injection pump this is the same engine that was going to be in one of that four diesel pulling tractor we were going to build a while back guys so was this thing going be turned way up big boy injectors Big Boy turbo stop getting they hopes up Hood stack okay okay I can that you we'll just put the down pipe right here turn it up we put out the side you know put a hole right here oh there ain't much room to put a hood stack is there Fender stack Fender stack sorry a side so that whenever the smoke coming out the top it's just going right down inside the windows Yep right here in the Breather oh boy it does got a solid power steering leak though it has no power steering on the way here I got to go find a screwdriver so I can start it baby it's actually it really is in good shape though you got to climb in from the back and it's got a full tank of diesel I broke the window already I was like that unfortunately now finding two windows off of that'd be the perfect place to put window kickers yeah perfect place let's go Randall just Bolt the generator right here this is sick pretty this guy's taking forever come on dude open the door pull on the handle school's in session pretty sweet ain't it I a never done that before you like that ignition hey.com look at the ignition what the heck we had to bust it to get it to work jeez careful you might get a new TN shop our stand right there yeah I know we noticed that after driving it it's funny we're walking back here closing all the windows on this thing and I found a bag of body fluid cleanup might need this is a ride back Tennessee for Ryan I bring it back to fcr and have the guys at the shop paint it problem is it's like school buses just don't look good any other color but yellow I don't know what color would you paint it not yellow That's a classic late 80s horn right there got the horn blasters man in there magic school bus D needs to upgrade oh you're late for real we don't got time get on the bus too late well guys that's a wrap shout out to the lifestyle Church of God for selling us this bus they just didn't have a use for it anymore and uh frankly it just costs so much money to put a bus like this on the road when near a small Church in that area there in I'll put a link down here they did ask that I did share a link uh with different ways you can help the church so be sure to check that out and send something over to them guys I think that'd be really cool if we came together and did something for a small time church I promise we will do something cool with this thing comment down below I'm not going to turn it into an RV or anything like that I will convert it to an RV for the title purposes so we can title it and drive it around but um I'm thinking we H stack it turn that motor up do some cool stuff I don't know how much power this Allison Transmission here can hold maybe you guys can comment down below and let me know let's see under here yeah there she is so you guys can see what transmission it's got in it maybe y'all can tell me what model Alice in that is or if it would be easy to change it out to a different one or something like that or maybe we put a manual behind it I don't know
