well i've got about uh 50 60 acres left to pre-sprain and i'm done looking here we've got co-op is loading two trucks at once here hi i'm tony fasstadder i'm 25 stoddard i'm tony fast dad my family has been blessed to form in montana for over a hundred years now and it wouldn't be possible without the great team we have and blessings from our savior jesus christ well you guys welcome back we are on the last farm up here in the hills and uh 1500 acres to go all canola fertilizers up there and the trucks they just delivered that we got the crane got a bag of canola on it and uh trying to get everything filled up and going seating again oh yeah the camera doesn't do justice on this hill [Music] you got it 450 you got it i have faith in you yeah got it now the load just got delivered by the co-op man we could not do it without them and their trucks they have brought almost all the walls right to the field all right so we're going here on uh one of these fields down here real hilly ground lots of power takes the ball up and down on the heavy ground not only is it hilly it's heavy clay and gumball another one of those goofy shaped fields this one would be always a total acre to this one four twenty four fifty four sixty somewhere all right [Music] wrapping up another field oh we're gonna try this one more time guess where i'm at gonna try to rescue the roller and someday we'll come down and pick up the tractor all at home i'm going to try to roll with this tractor and get done we got it one pass left to the other end look at that every time i come down here it rains better come down here more often to fill my drill and a little shower decide to come in i guess we'll take the moisture but it could have waited just just a little bit longer until we were done with this gumball stuff it's not very fun to seed in when it's wet and it's clay and then yeah muddy mess oh well man it's really coming down now it's almost hailing oh good thing i'm in the tractor [Music] now it's healing i think we might be done for today [Music] unfortunately [Music] well i'm able to just get going again now we had a little downpour up where colin's at down here field a little bit of rain but it's actually dusty in the south end north end is water city i'm a mile and a half strips i'm on so we'll work on the south end go over in the hills by the dam over here trying to get much of this done tonight because we got a trial we're gonna do for uh basf with different uh liberty link canolas and uh i need to get this seed out because i don't want to put it back in the bay just for the trial so i'll see this out tonight we'll do that trial hopefully it's dry enough in the morning roads dry right here we're still about three miles east of the tractors and the rain made it about a half mile past us like it dumped a quick quarter inch or better where the drills out where air drills at yeah so we gotta figure out how we're gonna get fertilizer in here now because there's water sitting in the road and it's gumbo if it was sand we could just keep driving yeah that water is going to be a problem notice like colin's drill is right there and it's dusty on the road of course behind us well most the roads dried up except for a few water holes here shovel well it's trial time and we've got the second variety in the drill we already put one in that we're planting on the whole farm or most of farm up here so what are we doing well we're doing demonstration strip trials today with uh with basf and invigor canola and we'll do uh it's uh they're all set up front to front to back a thousand feet and then we do a it's a replicated trial we're doing the same seating rate that we would normally do the same population that we would normally do on farm farm yep same fertilizer rate i'm just going to see how they compare yep real real life on on farm yep and then this will be published later on come this fall yep i'll come back this fall and do a uh do harvest and it'll all go into a way wagon that ends up ends up getting weighed by by us as a company representative into your you know you keep all the seed to sell yourself but uh yeah true on-farm data that way so we'll do that ten seed shuffle yes yep we'll have eight varieties here today so yeah we'll get started and he gets it right up on top of the tank and make sure we don't run out of seed that's right yep just put the fourth variety in over half done [Music] hmm build that i was working on yesterday right as the rain decided to hit is finally ready to go so back to cd and i go hopefully we can finish today well shane here shane yep didn't do that early did we horribly i'm shane yep with basf i'm horrible at introductions obviously that's all right not a problem but there we go we're going to have 10 we'll have 10. yep 10 different link variety side by side here so some demonstration strip trials front to back about a thousand feet get a good good comparison on them yep so i guess we're going to try out the asf yeah new york and a few other companies and a few other companies got to see what our competition's up to so you'll be back in 10 15 days see how everything's coming up and keep checking it every couple weeks throughout the season yep we will we'll get a good look out here on tony's tony's farm what uh what our canola can do and then bring away away again at harvest time yes we'll bring away wagon a harvest and then i'll do uh days to flowering notes and do stand counts and check up on it and see what your seed rate how good you calibrated your your air seeder so yeah it should work out really well yeah cool cool to see we just appreciate your uh your time and effort it doesn't it takes time to clean these out and get stuff set up tony so we spent about three appreciated three four hours to do this hopefully now we finished but a little rain event yesterday but we got through that we should have had footage of that boy that would have been something i think pollen i got a little bit of muddy pickup but yeah i gotta just pick up muddy it it got a little bit money i had to let tony drive even for a little ways gumbo yeah it worked out gumbo it's in it's in moisture now we seeded the moisture so that's great yeah plenty of moisture here now so we'll be finished worked well finished planned today and we're supposed to get a bunch of rain the next week so yeah and if it rains like it does i'll be in 10 15 days i'll be back out here to take a look and look at little canolas and see what the what it's up to so well thanks again yep thank you tony appreciate it much well i just got down on trial i'm going here now uh the rest of just whatever we were gonna plant normally on the farm this year and uh grab my lunch box and it's really heavy so i've got my calibration scale in here 12.5 pounds good gravy i'm excited last day of season and uh don't look like you're gonna go hungry today uh three two ounces like tea a lot of it look at that sandwich [Music] that was pretty good so i finished pre-spraying helped out this morning up north getting the drills going again uh after the trials with sea trials and stuff so they're all going again and i'm gonna take this truck drop this trailer and grab the drop deck and try to go get the dead 370 roller tractor and haul that home so we can work on the hydraulics in the shop well i just did the math and i think we're going to need about 19 tons well that's a little overshooting but i do not want to run out we'll spread the rest with a spreader on some ground i don't know what we'll do with the extra but if we run out at 10 o'clock tonight and it rains at midnight that doesn't do us any good so gonna fill up the drill quick [Music] well as of now we've got about 250 acres to see that this drill college had about 200 to go we're gonna be real tight it's all calling for rain at midnight 3 45. we can do this i think i think colin had that wheel right back there at the weld break on the bracket for it he ran it up to the neighbors got it welded up and uh looks like he's got it going again he uh gave me a fat lip helping him take it off he pulled the u-bolt up and took it hurt still hurts a little mishap on the tire back there on the toolbar back there broke the weld and was like crooked but i didn't video any of it because i forgot the camera in the tractor and um was trying to get it we were trying to get it done and fixed before the big rainstorm comes because we're trying to finish seating here before that comes and it's coming so we need to get going as fast as possible so i forgot to video it so but i'm back going again so good go hopefully to finish the field i finished the farm here i got the tractor loaded a little bit of fiasco and here we got a wide load i mean foreign looks combine on a trailer oh we got it home the battery was dead on it the key got turned too far it was on accessory so had to get a neighbor to come down and help jump start it had the truck positioned next to the tractor jumping it and got the trailer ready got it started and drove it onto the trailer but i had to jock it around a bunch because the steering doesn't work that's where the hydraulic leak is at is in the steering so it doesn't look too pretty under there at least we got it home [Music] starting the last feel just finished that one it's a colorful one with the test spot on it 460 acres done 150 to go colin's on this field here another 160 for him he's going to beat me though i think i got to fill up well he's going to fail too so race is on here we go last field the 21. he's calling can't see him now you can can't see him now you can't neck nope yeah no yeah nope yep [Music] you've got 83 acres it's a bit dusty out there now it's crazy what a little bit of wind will do and a little bit of sun rise it right out [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] starting the last flip pass of 2021 seating feels good there it is last pass well i just finished my field i was on colin is really close on running out of seed so i'm helping him out there we oh last pass well not quite enough rain keep us moving drills home this morning so we'll get these home and he starts raining hard well not too hard just enough soft rain for a couple days would be fantastic cleaning it up for the last time like a turtle or a snail [Music] me to spend a few days with a road grader up here get this road wind down like five feet on each side wire than it is would be [Music] fantastic [Music] [Applause] [Music] well we made it home if unfolded here and ready to get the fertilizer and dust all washed off by the rain or fire truck whichever one and uh thanks for watching guys don't forget farm hard pray harder i'm gonna take a nap [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
