all right this morning do you really feel all right this morning why don't you clap your hands and give the lord some free let the redeem of the lord say so hallelujah we thank god for our praise team and for bringing us and ushering us into this worship moment the earth is the lord and the fullness thereof and they that dwell therein this is the day that the lord has made and we come on this beautiful wonderful magnificent first sunday in the month of october to rejoice and be glad in it psalmist say we ought to enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts were for praise oh magnify the lord with me and let us exalt his name together for god is good and all the time praise god from whom all blessing flow praise them all creatures here below [Music] praise him [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] let us pray father in jesus name we come we come as humble as we know how we come weary wounded and sad but god we come we come with emotions all over the place yes we come with health challenges we come with grief in our heart but we still come we come knowing that we can bring our burdens to the lord and leave it there we come this morning because you said cast all your cares upon me for you care for us we come this morning because we realize that our strength can't carry the burden but if we lift up our eyes to the hills thank you lord all of our health come from the lord so lord we come this morning saying we need your help this morning lord scrapping us where we are build us up where we're torn down prop us up on every lean inside and oh heavenly father most of all fix our heart for worship this morning open up our eyes and ears that we may be able to hear what the spirit has to say unto the church and so now god we invoke your presence and we say have thine own way have thine own way use us in the mighty way send down your anointing this morning house with your holy spirit this morning stab the gift in the name of jesus so that when we shall leave this place we will leave better oh yeah than when we came this is our prayer this morning in jesus name all of god's people shall say amen amen [Music] [Music] [Music] his word is i wish i mean no prayers still work [Applause] i know he answered fred [Applause] i know he had i'm just convinced i'm in the room with some people that just had a little talk with jesus you tell him just a little bit about your problems and he heard your famous cry and he answered by and by just throw your head back and say i know he answered prayer i know i know [Applause] reading [Music] williams to common and gracious experience do we enter into spiritual and covenant relations with god and with one another [Music] [Music] holy ghost of god what is the great bond of our union with god and with each other to walk together what obligation do we assume in this our church [Music] by what vows do we gladly make as stewards of that which god has entrusted to us to continue cheerfully the expenses [Music] for the sake of our home and our loved ones what gracious task do we humbly for the sake of the unsaved we are pledged to what manner of life and conversation [Music] since we are brothers by what fraternal ministries are we to strengthen each other and adore the teaching of our lord but always ready for reconciliation we moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of god's word [Music] the is [Music] [Applause] [Music] amen what a mighty god we serve what a mighty god we serve angels bow before him heaven and earth adore him he's a mighty mighty mighty good god i want to announce this morning that musc is a minister and defies a vaccination every saturday and sunday every saturday and sunday from 7 00 a.m to 6 30 p.m at the rutledge tower on the first floor and no appointments are needed every saturday and sunday from 7 00 a.m to 6 30 at the rutledge town no appointments are needed uh first baptist church of james island we will have our food drive on this coming friday at 1 30. we ask those that are able to assist in the food drive that you would be here um as we continue to go forth and do ministry in the midst of the pandemic amen amen we are also praying for uh sister robin gibbs sister shirley carter brother larry branham mother vivian cromwell i mean there are many others that are requesting our prayers and we are lifting them up in prayer on yesterday we had a beautiful home going celebration for one of our beloved members mother gracie wilder and we ask that we continue to pray for the wilder family and also reverend james chamber brother passed away on this week in florida and we are continuing to live brother reverend brother chamber and his family up in prayer along with all families somebody say all families that's under the umbrella of bereavement and you know bereavement and grief do not have an expiration date and so we pray for those who are still mourning and asking god to comfort them over the death and passing of their loved one knowing that we have a certain hope in the resurrection of jesus christ and having the confidence and affirming of knowing that those who die in christ will be raised in christ it's a certain hope telling if it's a certain hope amen that will be absent from the body is to be present with the lord we pray that those words comfort your hearts in the days weeks and months to come as we are noun at the end of almost burning our church mortgage we kindly ask you church family please don't get weary in well-doing but we will reap a great harvest if we think not there are several ways that we can contribute and give unto the lord as he has given unto us and he promised that when you give unto him you'll receive a blessing more than you can receive press down shaken together and running over am i in the house with some blessed people amen amen and we thank god for what he's doing in the life of our church as we continue to go forth in ministry uh again we are asking that all auxiliaries between this month and beginning of next month will hold your elections as we get ready for the new coming year we already what year this is now 2021 before we blank it's going to be christmas before we blank again it's going to be watch night amen and before we look we're going to be calling in a new year hallelujah somebody amen time waits on nomad [Music] this year i have flown by and that's why we can't put off today for tomorrow amen amen our choir is heart be acceptable in your sight you are our strength and our redeemer speak holy spirit well your servant is listening in jesus name we pray amen in the book of first corinthians the 12th chapter we will begin with the 12th verse first corinthians the 12th chapter beginning with the 12th verse oh lest i forget get settlement [Music] [Music] more or less [Music] me [Music] calvary calvary [Music] [Applause] calvary [Music] the place where jesus [Music] die for me cowering [Music] calvary [Music] crawl [Music] i [Music] will cling i will cling to [Music] and exchanged [Music] [Music] the scripture reads as follows for as the body is one and has many members but all the members of that one body being meaning are one body so also is christ for by one spirit we are all baptized into one body whether jews or greeks whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one spirit for in fact the body is not one member but many if the foot shall see because i am not a hand i am not of the body is it therefore not of the body and if the ear should see because i am not and i am i not of the body is it therefore not of the body if the whole body were and i where would we be the hearing where would be the hearing if the whole body were hearing where would be the smelling but now god has set the members each one of them in the body just as he pleased and if they were all one member where would the body be [Music] but now and indeed there are many members yet one body and the eye cannot say to the hand i have no need of you know again the head to the feet i have no need of you no much rather those members of the bodies which seems to be weaker are necessary and those members of the body which we think to be less honorable on these we bestow great honor and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty but our presentable parts have no need but god composed the body having given greater armor to that part which lacks it that there should be no schism in the body that there should be no schism in the body that there should be no ism in the body but that the members should have the same care for one another in verse 26 our concentration verse and if one member suffereth [Music] all the members supper with it or if one member is honored all the members rejoice with it before you take your seat i want you to find a good neighbor and just look them in the eye and tell them i'm glad i'm sitting by you can we have a talk this morning [Applause] i want to preach this morning from the subject deacon johnson the seriousness of the matter the seriousness of the matter years ago when i first started preaching i didn't have but two sermons the lord gave me and i took those two sermons and turned them into 200 sermons because there's something about the word of god no matter how you preach it today it'll be a different revelation on tomorrow and in one of those sermons my mother would told me she would tell me now son i ain't tired of hearing that sermon here now and i said mama when the lord released me from preaching it i'll stop preaching it but until then i take my text again i find myself being brought back to that same parable all these years later to this particular message today that most people most preachers try to shy away from in these perilous times i began this message today the seriousness of the matter by telling you the story about a rat trap in the barnyard the rat trap in the barn the mouse looked through the crack of the barn and noticed that the farmer and his wife were setting a trap in the barn and to his discouragement he knew that he needed some help with this situation so he ran to the chicken coop and he called the meeting with all of the chickens and all of the chickens looked at brother rat and said you know i hear your concern but when was the last time you've seen a chicken caught in a rat trap they disregarded him and went on about their business plucking with hope and discouragement the rat still looked for help and answers so he left the chicken coop and went down to the hog pin he said mr oink i got a serious problem there's a rat trap in the barn hug wallow in his mess took his slow time heard his concern and said well there brother rat i'll just pray for you there's nothing i can do he said well old macdonald had a farm eiu since he couldn't get no help from the chicken coop and no help from the whole plan he said i'll go down to the pastures he called on brother cow and the cow said moo moo moo moo moo he walked off from brother kyle because brother kyle just looked at the rat and said i'm too big to be dealing with any rat traps as i begin to tell you the story later on one night the farm and his wife heard a loud clapping sound in the midst of the darkness she went in to see what the trap caught but sadly to her surprise it was a venomous snake she got too close and the snake bought her bitter they took her to the doctor and the doctor told the farmer the only thing we can do to keep her fever down is to keep her warm and to give her some chicken noodle soup the farmer took his hatchet yes sir went out in the barnyard and grabbed the chicken by his neck me chicken noodle soup for his wife she began to continue to get frail and ill trying to get over this snake by family and friends started coming in and gathering and he needed to give the people something to eat so he went out to the hog pin called the butcher slaughtered the hall they had pork chop pig foot hog ears chicklet oh y'all ain't gonna hear me walk with me this morning [Applause] the story gets worse because she could not overcome the snake bite she succumbed to the snicker and as they were getting ready or planning the funeral service they said we need enough meat for the re-pass they went and they slaughtered the cow he had stick and everything that comes with him when we look at that scenario in this parable this morning we too are dealing right now with a trap in the barnyard and the trap is called covet 19. [Applause] and just as like the rat was seeking out help in the midst of this we have many people within our society that have a chicken mentality the pigs mentality and the cow audacity but the truth of the matter is if the chicken the pig and the cow had just a little bit of concern about what the rat was going through if they just took a little bit of time to realize that what's affecting my brother or my sister might not affect me right now but in the long run it can be detrimental to all that's on the farm the chicken had no concerns about the rat because it wasn't his problem the pig had no concern about the rat because they lived in different places of the fall the cow had no concern about the rat because he was too big for that kind of problem oh yes we have some just like that right now they are too big to put on a mass [Applause] the reason why the lord brought me to this message this morning the seriousness of the matter because it needs to be addressed in the church from the pulpit we are shouting on sunday and dying on monday being buried on saturday and we have yet to do something about the rat trap that's cutscene and catching and catching god's people we as the church have remained silent too long [Applause] we see people that's advocating and protesting the mandate of wearing a mask but yet we are silent help me [Applause] i can't understand how we can have so many requirements for south carolina education system i don't know about you but i don't think things changed too much long ago but before i could register to get in school [Applause] they didn't even ask if i knew my abc or could count from one two three but they made sure that you had immunization papers before you even bring your snotty-nosed child to school now that we can put that kind of mandate on immunization why in the world we can't put that kind of mandate on [Applause] every now and then we got to step back and look at things from a broader perspective i have people that are serving right now in the u.s military talking about i ain't getting no shot i don't i don't want to win on mass and all these things but the last time i checked before your tail got into boot camp the first thing they do is line you up and pump you up with all kinds of shots if you can take the shot to get in you ought to be able to take the shot to stay corvette 19 is known as the silent killer all across the world all across this nation churches the demographics of even churches is drastically change not as prevalent here but up north there are many of churches that have lost a great population of membership due to covet 19. one of the tragedies that i heard was a family of 13 immediate family members i ain't talking about no three distant cousin in the fifth cousin from grandmama grandson sister brother son-in-law a whole immediate family of 13 family members died within two weeks somebody tell your neighbor the seriousness of the matter just like sin none of us are immune from this terrible silent killer [Music] if you got the shot you still got to protect yourself still protect yourself because let me tell you my brothers and sisters most of us have already found out it could happen to anybody i don't care how much you washing hands and how much you doing everything you still got to ask the lord lord cover me cover me with your grace and a lot have been affected by it and you can testify lord i just want to thank you for bringing me out of it but we cannot show up the church and pretend that there is not a rat trap in the barn [Applause] so if you got an attitude when i just tell you to put your mask on don't come back next sunday you stay home and watch online until you get your spirit right because the bible says that everything must be done decent and in order and we're going to keep harder in this house somebody shout protect the house this silent killer have even left funeral directors exhausted casket companies can't even make caskets fast enough when people say well i'm gonna get married no way i'm gonna get cremated crematories have a back law people waiting to be cremated and while there are others that act like there's nothing going on and everything is howdy howdy and goody-goody we must consider that us as african americans are the ones who are dying at a high and alarming rate somebody say preach rep we must consider that it is us who have a lot of hereditary things that runs through our family hypertension and high blood pressure sugar diabetes and all these other things my brothers and sisters they are called underlining [Applause] and sometimes people in power not going to make the necessary moves they need to make until things affect them in their own house so where does that bring us that bring us to here in the book of corinthians when paul writes in verse 26 he said when one suffers school system in one class get get get uh what they call the word now exposure close contact you're seeing everybody cold that's how we ought to be in the house hold of faith we are not dwell on this idleness of selfishness shall you hear so and so yeah i am but i you know that's your brother in christ that's your sister in christ that's our family member in the body of christ and if they are hurting we ought to be praying when we come to the body of christ there's no more me myself and i it's us we an hour this here in the text it says just as it is in the naturalism despair we are made up of many members but all is one body from the beginning of the time the trinity is the father son and the holy ghost but all is three in one when one heard all out to her one cry all ought to feel the pains he helped help to heal their wounds and soothe their sorrows so that there will be no schism within the house of the lord my brothers and sisters where do we go from here where do we go from here grandma put it like this a hard head yes sir we got to be wiser and we must do better i can hear you that ain't no communion message today this is the best message for community because jesus said i come that you might have life and have it more abundantly and i can't commune you if you did [Applause] [Music] [Applause] it is satan's that's behind the seeds seeking who he may devour seeking who he can confuse seeking whom he can make procrastinate i i'ma see what happened it is satan who is confusing the people of god don't be tricked by the enemy ask god for wisdom knowledge and understanding ask god to show you ask god to give you that peace that you need the rich are alarming icu's are over flooding and don't believe all of those statistics you see on that tv people are dying faster than they are counting god say i am here to give you a hope a new outlook on life but there is hope today there is hope for the body there is hope for the family but the hope comes with conditions it's my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves seek my face and pray and turn from their wicked ways watch this here's the hope then i'll hear from heaven forgive their sins and heal their land there is hope but the hope comes with condition i shall not fear the terror by night nor the arrow that flies by thee the lord is a keeper he shall keep me with his right hand but the conditions is he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadows of the almighty see we want the hope but we don't want to keep the condition what's the hope he restores my soul yeah though i walk through the valley of the shadows of death i will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me thou prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies thou anointes my head before you my cop run of over surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and i will dwell in the house of the lord forever that's the hope but the condition is in verse 1 the lord has to be your shepherd [Music] there is hope this morning [Applause] that even in the times of trouble he shall hide me in this pavilion when the wicked even my enemies and my foes come against me to eat up my flesh and this will i be confident in the times of trouble he will hide me that's the hope but the condition is the lord is my life and my salvation find a good name and tell them there is hope i know that there is hope because jesus gave them hope in john the 14th chapter he said in my father's house there are many mansions and if it was not so i would have told you and i'm going to prepare a place for you that where i am there ye may be also find a good neighbor and tell them that's the hope but there's a condition jesus said i am the way the truth and the life and no man no man cometh unto the father but through me ah there is hope [Music] and so and so when i tell you the smallness that there is hope for our condition find a good neighbor and tell them i know what i'm talking about the god that i serve he sees all he hears all and he knows all and he promised that he'll never leave you he promised he'll never forsake you this isn't the first time we've been in this kind of trouble go back to the children of israel they were in some deep trouble but when they found himself at a red sea nowhere to run no place to hide fair on their track they called on the name of the most high god and the same god that made a way then find a good neighbor and say neighbor he's able to wake away now he can make a way out of no way i know he can if he can take noah and put him in a ark in a storm for 40 days and for 40 nights and when he's was ready till the rain stopped from falling till the wind ceased from blowing until the time deceased from ruin and noah opened up the ark and it was a bright sunshiny day if he's able to cease that storm he's able to cease this storm if he's able to speak to a bush and catch a bush on fire and the bush never burn out he's able to speak to this stone if he's able to take ezekiel and put a wheel of burning flames in the middle of another wheel and they never touch they never collide he's able to fix this storm can i get a witness and if he's able to take a black and white cow with a pink tongue make em eat green grass cold brown whiskers and have gray eyes produce white milk and turn yellow brella he he's able to fix it now if he can take my brown soul dip it in red blood and i come out whiter than snow he's able to fix it now tell your neighbor i know a man who is able he sits high and he looks low but he's still labeled he's able to take two fish and five slices of bread and feed five thousand people not including the women and the children if he's able to do it then he's able to fix it now i wish i had a witness here don't mind helping me close when i tell you if he's able to be bushwhacked and ambushed on a thursday evening arrested like a criminal tried by an unjust jury and found guilty but never said a marmalade word take a beating all night long take nails in his hands take nails driven in his feet take a pound of thorn placed on his head and he never said a mammalian word if he's able to lay his life down on a friday evening and be buried in a dark grave on a friday night and stay there but somewhere between saturday night and sunday morning he lay down dead but early sunday morning he laid his life down but he picked it back up on sunday morning with all power in his hand nobody took his life but he laid it down and if he's able to do that sure enough solely he is able to fix it now i need a good witness that no god is able to do exceedingly no god is able to do abundantly that no god is able to do above all you can ask or think to stand up in solidarity and say i know god is still in charge i know god is still king of kings and lord of lords he's still the lily of the valley and the bright and morning star no he's still a doctor that never lost the patient a lawyer that never lost the case i don't know how you feel about it but in the midst of all of this i'm still praising the lord i'm still serving the lord i'm still worshiping the lord because god is still in charge and god has the last word over my life find a good neighbor and tell them god got the last word over me and i'm gonna keep my hand keep my hand shake my hand keep my head in god's hand i'm gonna keep my hand in god's hand in god's hand i got protection in god's hand i got security in god's hand i got angel he does angels watching over me do you have god's angels do you have god protection do you have god's security can i get a witness can you do me one favor look at a good name and point at him don't touch him now because we're practicing social distance look at him and point at them and say neighbor i got it i got it i got it i caught it i got it i got it i got it i got a knife i got a mic [Music] good god almighty every now and then i just feel like preaching every now and then i get happy in my soul can i ask you one more question a god all right a god all right anybody here no he's all right anybody here ever tried my cheese if you know he's all right let me see yes know i know i know he's all right anybody try them now and then four sets on fire [Music] every now and then you ought to feel a fire burn [Music] now and then you ought to just think about how good the lord has been to you [Music] [Music] [Applause] he's been good [Music] yes [Music] the art is open [Music] the art is open for prayer [Music] jesus keep me near the cross there's a precious fountain free to all the healing screams flows from calvary's [Music] oh [Music] me [Music] yes [Music] me [Music] yes [Music] [Music] satan's job is to make us live in fear god reminds us that we have faith [Music] and along with faith he give us wisdom knowledge and understanding somebody at this altar been going through i can feel you in my spirit but you press your way [Music] and you refuse to give the enemy any room [Music] god say i see your struggle i see your pain and i hear your prayer [Music] it's gonna get better before it get worse [Music] father i stretch my hands to thee [Music] no other help i know if you withdraw yourself from me oh lord where [Music] shall we go we come this morning saying lord i need you and i need you right now you know what i'm struggling you know what my faults are you know where i need help you know i've been faltering and i come this morning saying lord help me on this journey i've been faking it too long i've been acting like i had it all together too long lord i need you and i yield my spirit to you right now and say lord come in and see about me [Music] somebody going through some health challenges god we pray that you touch them from the crime of the head down to the soul of their feet remind them god that you still have all power in the palm of your hand and there are many that surrounding this altar this morning that can testify i'm a living witness i've been touched by the hands of god [Music] so god we pray now for families we pray we pray oh god you bind the hands of the enemy we rebuke satan in the name of jesus we plead the blood of jesus [Music] cover us cut our children cover us [Music] danger singing and unseen [Music] lord be offense all around us [Music] in the name of jesus [Music] god you said to delight ourself and the lord and you will give us the desires of our heart hear our prayer this morning lord we come after as many but we are one body [Music] when one push let the other one pull when one falter let the other one lift up when one say harley let the other one say luia [Music] draw us closer and closer together and now lord as we prepare to embrace you'll suffer while we're down here praying search our heart find things that are not of you cast it away from us purge us with your hiss up and wash us with your blood creating us a clean heart renew within us a right spirit in jesus name and oh god not for a long prayer [Music] but just to say thank you in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit all of god's people say it is so it's already done and i claim the victory come on and clap your hands as a sign of triumph clap your hands as a sign of victory and say i'm not going to bring it with me no more leave it on the altar for sacrifice praise you may return to your seat in jesus name [Music] [Music] [Music] sins and as we fellowship and commune with you and with one another as one body in christ we realize oh god that we also share in the burdens of the sufferings and pain and so now consecrate this thanks he took wine and when he had blessed it he said unto them this is the shed blood of my new testament what can wash away my sins nothing but the blood of jesus may we now drink together as one body in christ and as long as we shall be able to in a sound mind eat of this bread and drink of this blood jesus said i will not do it with you until i return find a good neighbor and tell him he's coming back [Applause] when he come back we'll be able to hear come over here with a table of strength feasts of the lord going on drink from a fountain that'll never run dry shout out [Music] i came
