But I don't need so many. RAFI: Me either. I thought I'd be hungrier when I made them. GABI: Rafi! I can't believe you threw out all those sparkwiches. That’s wasting food. RAFI: It’s OK. Out of sight is outta sight! GABI: Wasty Whatnots! The Plonyscope is calling! Let’s go, Sparks! GABI/RAFI: Eeeeeeuw! RAFI: Something is seriously stinky down at the Plonys! Let’s take a peek. YASMIN: The whole yard smells so yucky. Poor grass, you’ve gone all brown. You’re all droopy, Mr. Tree. and the poor grapes are yucky PAPA: Shalom, Yasmin. Isn’t this great? There’s way more room for garbage out here than the curb! RAFI: Papa Plony took my idea! Out the window is the best place to throw garbage. GABI: That’s a terrible way to get rid of trash. I think you and the Plonys could learn a little about Bal Taschit. RAFI: Bal trash what? GABI: Bal Taschit. It means “Don’t waste”. Try it with me. GABI: You got it! It’s our duty to take care of the earth and not take more from it than we need. Rafi! Where’d you get another sparkwich? RAFI: From under our window. Turns out I’m still hungry after all. GABI: Just come on… GABI: Come on, Sparks, let's fix the world! Oof! RAFI: Whoa. Extra-stinky Plotz landing! GABI: Hey Rafi. What do you get when you cross a skunk with a shy owl? RAFI: I dunno. What do you get when you cross a skunk with a shy owl? GABI: Something that stinks but doesn’t give a hoot. GABI: No wonder Yasmin was sad. All this stinky garbage is hurting the grass, the tree, and the grapes. RAFI: It’s not doing my nose any favors either. Go away stink! GABI: We better see what’s happening inside, fast. RAFI: Everything looks okay to me, Gabi. MAMA: Well that sure was dirty. I’m gonna need a whole roll of paper towels to dry this. Look at that shiiiine GABI: Don’t you see? Mama’s wasting water by leaving the tap running and wasting paper towels by using the whole roll to dry one dish. That's outrageous. PAPA: Hey, guess what? It’s cloudy out so I turned on all the lights in the house! The house sure feels cheerier now. MAMA: That’s my Papa Plony. It’s good to know that even the rooms we’re not in have lights shining bright. YASMIN: You guys! I just had to turn off every light in the house. "Aizah Balagan" A disaster. Don't you know leaving the lights on wastes electricity? PAPA/MAMA: Really? I hadn’t thought of that. YASMIN: And maybe you don’t need 4 paper towels to dry your hands and more pickles than you can eat? BEN: Thanks for the bite of your pickle Papa. That’s all I want. PAPA: Ehh I’ve had enough too. Out the window it goes! RAFI: Look out, Gabi. Pickle Alert!!! GABI: Poor Flower. You managed to grow even with all the Plony garbage around. RAFI: Don’t feel bad, Gabi. We can use Spark magic to send all this trash somewhere else. Shaboom! See? All gone. GABI: But where did all that garbage go? RAFI: Who cares? Long as it’s not here. PLONYS: Heeeeeelp! GABI/RAFI: Ay yi yi GABI: Looks like we found out where you poofed that garbage to, Rafi. MAMA: Look at all this garbage. Did all this come from one little family? YASMIN: One family can waste so much making more food than we can eat drawing on only one side of our paper buying over packaged food or running tap wastes water And throwing plastic, metal and styrofoam in the backyard is hurting our plants. PAPA: And I thought out of sight was “outta sight”. GABI: We better clear all this garbage out of the house. Get ready to *wave* this trash goodbye! Shaboom! RAFI: Uh oh… That’s a whole lotta water! YASMIN: Magniv! Cool! The water sorted all the garbage and compost! LILA: What’s compost, Yasmin? BEN: Eugh... It looks like yucky dirt to me. YASMIN: Nature doesn't waste, only people do. Worms and bugs may look yucky but they help nature recycle by breaking down waste and turning it into nutritious dirt that helps plants grow BEN: Mmm, the grapes look good, Lila. We can crush them to make fresh grape juice for Shabbat dinner! LILA: Should we pick them all? YASMIN: Leave some on the vine fore later, Lila. Pick only what we need. RAFI: And that is Bal Taschit!
