Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Experience London to Barbados (A330-300)

[Music] good morning everybody or whatever the time of day is wherever you are from it's jamie here welcome to travel blog jamie sorry today i am flying from london heathrow terminal 3 uh with virgin atlantic all the way to barbados i can't wait and for the first time ever i'm flying upper class with virgin it was a steel deal so i had to do it i normally uh an extra space extra leg room kind of person but on this occasion uh no upperclassmen you are going to want to come along and explore and see what this experience is all about follow me all right all looks quite orderly if not a little bit busy at the moment and i think i am going down here look for the first time how exciting oh look at this private access i didn't know about this red carpet as well look i look very classy in my short flip-flops and t-shirt right so by all accounts you scan in here with your barcode and put the whole thing under door opens here we go well that was certainly a calm check-in which is always appreciated but it took quite a long time i am absolutely certain if i'd gone the economy route i would have got through a lot quicker there was only one person there for security however we're through we're on time all is going according to the plan gate 21 here i come so are you somebody who walks or stands still on one of these moving walkways i'm a walker [Music] i know you're going to want a few facts about this plane here you go and let's also have a peep at the seating plan so make your choice economy economy delight premium or upper class not much of a spoiler alert here i mean you've seen the title of the vlog hell you may have even searched for it i went up a class and stayed in seat 8a here we go oh there's a bar how awesome right my first impression was that the seating configuration seemed just a little bit too tightly packed i don't know i think the arrangement just felt like it lacked a little bit of privacy having said that i was absolutely gonna make the most of this experience and oh yes i did and the champagne arrives thank you so much for the welcome all right so you just get a sense of leg room here obviously you can stretch right out and this will be made into a bed a little bit later on let's have a look and see what's in this goodie bag nice pair of flight socks oh saucy mask and we also have toothbrush toothpaste we've got some lip balm moisturizer hand cream ear plugs pen [Music] since this is a daytime flight you can expect a hot lunch followed by afternoon snack when you're ready absolutely no complaints from me with regards to the choice of food and drink whilst on board and those of you who follow me yes i know i did spot the cocktails don't worry i'm gonna get one but i started off with some champagne and um water this has to be one of the most flexible tv screens i've ever had on any plane look at it go go screen all righty let's get taxiing ready for that runway it's really important that your seat belt is securely flat connect devices please make sure they switch to flight safety here we go so so it took me a while to find the usb port but it's there in the screen relationship [Music] cocktails bay breeze for me please well you don't have to stay in your seat because there is a bar on board cheers everybody moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips oh no they are low calorie i know you're all jealous aren't you my sexy flight socks look at those oh yes headsets are provided for you and they're really good at blocking out the noise of the aircraft if you'd like to connect to wi-fi on board well it's gonna cost you a little extra but i gotta say it worked really well all right i can definitely get used to this kind of leg room this table just magically appears and then before you know it there's a nice little table cloth over the top oh now that is flexible lunch is on its way folks look how cute the salt and pepper shakers are aviation all the way for my starter i've gone for the asparagus artichoke rocket and parmesan looks good can i say god bless this seeded roll that is actually served warm thank you jesus yes yes yes i know there's green hanging out in my mouth that's actually really tasty nice hard taste to it as well very good cheers again and here we go with the main course so i have gone for the breaded chicken which has truffle butter there's potato terrine wilted greens and a parsley sauce looks great it's actually really good nice creaminess from the parsley sauce salty buttery the wilted greens are amazing pretty rich and here's the warm apple and raspberry crumbles [Music] so that's not sweet at all it's actually quite sharp creamy i like that that's a really good like palette cleanser at the end coffee time and look how cute this milk is still hungry or thirsty well not a problem because the bar is stopped throughout your flight with soft drinks and nibbles uh i only got these for research purposes obviously right time for a nap and the linen and duvet is tucked right behind your chair bit of a tight squeeze gotta be honest because of the configuration of this plane if you're seated to the left hand side you are going to be blocking the aisle whilst you make your bed so be aware within minutes of waking up the crew was on hand with a hot drink coffee please and up to the last 40 minutes of your flight you can order some extras i went for the bbq pulled pork on toasted brioche and i gotta say it was actually rather good so welcome to barbados hello ladies and gentlemen to help keep the cabin cool whilst we're on the ground here in barbados and there you have it folks that's the upper class experience on board virgin atlantic i really enjoyed the level of comfort on board the food was great and this service
