Vault Hunters 1.18 - An Amazing Start! - Episode 1

foreign [Music] my name's bottle top on it and welcome to the first episode of Vault Hunters 1.18 on the Artemis SMP I have started off this world online with a couple of other people and I've found myself a base location so as you can see I've done some of the basic early game stuff I got myself a few bits and pieces before finding this area around 5 000 blocks from Spawn if I zoom out here you can see we've done a little bit of exploring and just down here is the spawn Village or spawn town now before we get into things there will likely be a few new people popping in and seeing me for the first time with this series so hi I'm bottle top Hornets I make YouTube videos and stream Minecraft and have gotten into modded through Vault Hunters 1.16 played through a series of that and now with the 1.18 version being released we're starting fresh and I'm really excited this is Artemis SMP my content creator SMP where me and a couple of others are going to be playing and creating content but only I am going to be making YouTube videos so with that here we are let's have a bit of a look around I found this little area and it works perfectly for my idea for a base this season so with very little effort I've actually found probably how permanent base location already I removed a bunch of trees and now we have this area surrounded by some hills and going into this really pretty biome over here with a bunch of calcite so right off the bat we're pretty much into it with the early game exploring and grabbing materials out of the way we can get straight into searching underground for some chromatic iron and hopefully in this episode getting some volts run so in my exploration I did manage to find some Diamond some obsidian and a few other bits and pieces as well you can see the wood that we chopped down over here and a few other goodies we've got a decent amount of iron and some food as well so let's make ourselves that that and that in fact we'll make a helmet too yeah I've managed to get a aqua affinity letter cap so I'm going to keep that stored safely for when we need to go searching underwater for things I'm gonna grab a couple of sticks make myself a diamond pick we'll take some spare planks to make crafting tables if we need it some coal to make ourselves some torches and yeah with that we should be good to go nice time to sleep so I think my best bet is to fight an exposed area that has a uh a cave going down and see if we can find ourselves some of that chromatic iron so I'm going to craft up a bunch of torches let's see what we can find do I have an ax we should make an ax and we probably don't need to take an iron hole with us okay ax can be used for fighting picks are ready I'm ready let's go I don't think there's any caves in this area so I'm gonna pop up over the edge here and see if we can find one outside of our little Grove and let me tell you I have some amazing ideas in my head for a build here including a bunch of external stuff as well as digging right into that mountain as we proceed through this playthrough and making something pretty impressive inside but it is episode one so we're not going to get too serious about planning that out just yet there's plenty of time right now I just want to get into the vaults see if I can get some levels and hopefully some good loot all right can I get a cave entrance oh maybe maybe okay this will do just nicely oh yeah this will do just nicely a nice and lit up Lush cave to take us down into the world surely not no that would be like a tin or something I would say I can't turn on yes it's 10. I can turn on that little overlay there osmium or deep slate nighter or interesting but with a bit of luck this should take us down straight away to the sort of level that we need to get to I'm also extremely excited for having 1.18's lighting system where we don't have to light up as much oh so satisfying okay let's see what we can find obviously we need to be a little bit careful because in Vault Hunter's armor is a little bit weaker to start off with as you progress through the pack you're gonna get stronger armor I see a creeper in the water there oh God no it's definitely going to get stronger armor as we progress but to start off with it's a little bit scary they can do a lot of damage so I need to be careful um I'm really worried about that that creeper there foreign let's have a little bit of a look over this direction okay the damage isn't as bad they have been working on this pack for a long time and it seems they've done their best to get it balanced from the get-go but I would say over time things are going to uh be dialed in adjusted and made to work just right what is this fluorite okay I think we want to go a little bit lower so fluorite as well 10 oh God so many different oars Let's uh let's allow a little bit of this water through and head down below uh oh I didn't bring any oh good fight yourselves that's very helpful I forgot to bring Arrows with me but hopefully um a little bit close to each other there folks well at negative 24 I think I might just start a bit of a strip mine and see whether we can come across any of the iron and it'd also be nice to find some bold Stone oh straight out into oh Danger okay well it's just naturally going to take us further down cancel that strip mining ah what a wonderful cave to find as our first one careful of skeletons ring a ringa Rosie it brings us down really low by itself which is amazing hopefully with it all lit up it should be fairly easy to find what we're looking for and I gotta be careful of my Food Supplies oh Harris oh that that's potentially got a lot of goodies in it let's be a little bit careful around this osmium okay I think we'll summon that and using the water we should be able to handle it pretty decently uh I have eight arrows okay let's see how we go okay the witch is a little bit of a problem oh and so is that spider ah I don't have any Dash abilities or anything like that I am in trouble this could be it I need to bail hold on we got some distance we have the saturation I need to kill that spider there we go okay no oh dear early game am I right oh boy that's fine at least it is an easy trip down there but death number one is already done outside the vaults okay oh that was close we could just follow our little path down here and I wonder if those guys are going to be still there I would like to kill them to get their drops because usually they drop really good stuff we went over here across here down and around through here phew okay easy peasy it looks like we uh we lost all of those those folks though one of them did drop a few raw iron well back to the search we go oh a music disc nice deep slate tin not it the search continues fluorite oh come on it looks exactly like what you'd expect is that a it's a skeleton spawner oh my from the get-go what are the chances what a botania okay Diamond Horse are a bunch of saddles am I a name tag as well I'm Gonna Leave the Britannia Lexia bigtania there make a little bit of space but that is amazing we're gonna add a waypoint to that Skelly spawner because it's honestly not that far from our home with a little bit of digging and stuff we could get down here pretty easily very good all right everything's going just fine I swear though doesn't that look like it should be the uh chromatic iron I wonder whether they'll address that well that seems to do a little bit of a loop that's a glitch we can see through to the sky so maybe we try and jump up here up and up yeah okay osmium quartz osmium iron zinc all right come on is that another that's another spawner a zombie spawner how close to the skilly spawner okay zomb good Lord and a golden apple there you go nice very nice we go deeper and deeper still oh haha all the way to the debts oh my this is a big big lava like what that's so cool I wonder whether this will make it easier or harder to find what we're after all right wish me luck I have three pieces of food nope I have bread I'm hoping that with this we'll find a little bit of an exposed section of the Vault Stone but I don't know whether it will have been deleted or whether it will work with this whole area we'll explore and find out but we'll also see what's in these urns okay okay not too bad fluorite I do love how bright this cave is though it's amazing this is honestly an amazing area the giant cave leading into the giant cave it's so pretty and with how long this season is hopefully gonna go for we definitely have the opportunity to do something down here we just gotta survive we're now down at y level 54 which is essentially the bottom of the world if we don't find anything down here I'm going to be very disappointed we also sort of don't have the most time running out of food you may have to uh go back up to the surface for a bit of a reprieve perish sometimes it's easy to forget how moody and gloomy these caves can appear especially with this terrorist and how large they are oh boy it's a little nerve-wracking oh here we go it may not be the chromatic iron but it is a decent supply of this fault Stone unfortunately I don't really have the room so what we might do is we might mark this as Vault Stone see whether we can find some of the chromatic iron and then we go back up top prepare ourselves and come back down with all that we need I seriously have not found any of that chromatic ion yet though fluoride and that was the last of my food oh more Vault Stone we may need to reassess oh but at least we found some diamonds one one Diamond this cave is ridiculous what the heck I think we need to go regroup I'm out of torches I'm out of food and I haven't found any iron chromatic iron that is low Health low hunger but I made it out and we're back home I need food let me collect some more coal get myself up again and we'll head back down and see whether we can get lucky and find some of what we need I might also empty these out and take them with me for inventory management damn stupid fall damage Fallen big holes in the ground stuff that I can't see I'm gonna have the MLG I mean who even puts this larger hole here it's so dangerous Anyone Could Fall In and hurt themselves try to jump across this precarious little to serve it too and I couldn't lag and no come on let's MLG foreign [Laughter] don't really want to try the MLG again but I feel like I have to prove myself it's getting dark someone's sleep please all right this time this time I'll succeed damn it stupid so uh first try don't look at all the bodies everywhere it doesn't prove anything what are you talking about now I gotta get out of here get stuck in failing MLG all right a couple of these sacks here that are going to allow me to sort of have an early game shulker box let's see if we have any luck this time I can't believe I died so many times oh dear it's all fun and games though I'm gonna blame the server for the lag with my MLG yeah it was definitely server like foreign oh my goodness finally I have a strip mined as you can see behind me I have searched through oceans and water oh my goodness I have mind and mind and finally I found some chromatic iron ore God I hope there's a lot of it oh I'm so glad to see you why do you look exactly like fluoride or whatever it's called I have gone through an entire diet pickaxe looking for this I've spent about an hour underwater using doors as you can see the doors in my uh inventory there finally we have what we need to get into the Vault I wouldn't mind up the Vault stone that I needed and got plenty of stuff in that department but this was the the remaining piece so I'm going to mine it up I am slightly tempted to leave it for fortune 3 or leave some of it for fortune 3 but at this point I'm sure that I'll get a bit in the vaults and by the time I wanted a lot more or am needing a lot more I'm sure we'll be a little bit more kitted out and be able to get it a little bit easier having no efficiency on this pickaxe was killer but thankfully it looks like this is a decent sized vein okay very good I've lit up so much of these caves by the way hahaha I have put down hundreds of torches hundreds it's ridiculous let's hit harm ah that feels good that feels very good so we have a bunch of junk to take care of but with that I have plenty of Vault Cobblestone or vault Stone one of these there we go I managed to get exactly one stack of the chipped Vault Rock I think that means I think that means we can go into a vault so what does this look like placed down next to each other not too bad this block of calcite here is roughly the middle of the area that I uh have cleared out if we pop up here you can see that it's sort of centralized on this whole area and I just realized this is kind of a vault Rock shape I like it so just here is where we're going to put our portal yeah that'll do for the time being clear out a little bit of stuff from in front of it and now we can uh we can work with this stuff and because of all that uh mining for these things I've got 30 spare diamonds so we are going to make ourselves a full set of diamond gear beautiful oh yeah that's much better so we have a diamond ax to take into the vaults which should be fine for the time being we've got this bow here not that many arrows but we're going to take it easy for the first Vault so we'll take that I will put away this junk here keep the spare diamonds and we might even take yeah just a golden apple I'm not going to uh make myself any potions just yet we're just gonna see how we go by taking it carefully now what else do we need we need one Diamond a couple pieces of obsidian and some stone bricks I think we can manage that now we can make a vault Rock that's nice and once we have four of these we're good to go do do do do do oh that feels good we're just gonna place this in front of it for now and let's see what our first recipe is like a bell I don't think I've grabbed a bell uh oh okay where is the nearest Village I only had to travel about 2 000 blocks for that and now we'll travel all the way home oh two pieces of that that and one of those and I need a button a button a button a button a button first volt Rock of the season oh yeah that feels good that feels very good so what do I want to take in I feel like cobbled deep slate is probably a good uh option to take in unless we manage to get one of the Vault rooms that has a similar texture this will be something that I have a decent amount of and I can put down whenever I like we have our weapons we have food a golden apple in the case of a little bit of a mishap bucket of water few arrows just to deal with some baddies a sack for keeping some extra items might even take a second one okay two of them so with that ah I think we're ready I think we're just ready there's not much else that I really want to grab and I think I'm just going to take it super quiet super easy see what I can find hopefully get a few goodies and come out safe and sound uh yeah let's do it okay wish me luck and let's hope for a good amount of loot oh boy I'm nervous wait for that to load in properly okay so we are heading to the West oh come on you got this all right we are going to Mark the way we came through this is a nice bright open area that looks rough a couple of chests down there let's see what kind of stuff we can find might start with that one just there okay I may not be able to break that quick enough so oh I've got to pick it up properly we're just gonna grab stuff like that and run we got some uh knowledge action Essence straight away oh you are fast goodness me really fast okay careful careful bubble both of those seemed like they fizzled out so that's good if I play this safe I've got some really good chests down there nice oh oh that's so good stuff in that so much uh Vault dust three pieces of netherite oh my oh there's another one no okay that's amazing and we have another point of interest just here some silk oh wow that was already amazing that's another uh Ambush one that's good what have we got here Oz black opal oh we didn't get anything from that one pay night we got some pain right not too shabby okay what I'm gonna do is what looks like we have the most of it we can put the Vault Essence in there and we might put our vault gem sort of style stuff in here nice not a bad start okay that's just got a couple of coins I'm wondering whether just run away oh okay we can leave those down there what else have we got available in this room or they're coming after me might be worth checking up top here oh boy it's Gonna Keep building yes lucky I did that very nice what is that modifier gear add a random modifier very nice epic we are getting some good stuff uh that scene can go away I don't think I'm gonna worry about the gold or the iron nuggets or the plain iron I'm gonna get rid of stuff that I don't really care for like vanilla style stuff without laggy we were going into the start of that Vault I'm not going to risk an MLG just this second oh that looks like the fellas from down below where's your skeleton friend there you are we may as well take care of him and then move on yeah okay heading west I feel for this first one I'm just gonna keep going in a straight line keep it nice and simple really do love that Walnut every combat okay Walnut planks and stuff room number two oh let's mark it what is that oh it's a treasure room by the looks of things okay this one didn't fizzle out so we'll quickly grab that stuff run this one on the other hand is fizzling I get the feeling that we've been quite lucky so far very lucky I'll grab some food too I like the look of that chest oh Nate no I'm probably gonna get another spawn here let's quickly loot that and that and run get out of here once again just gonna get rid of a few things that I don't need that that is becoming a much smaller number of things oh that was laggy quick loot quick Loot and run and get rid of the stuff we don't want loot run get rid of stuff we don't want seems like a decent idea okay oh it's also I just realized a monolith one which I believe is a new style where if you find the monoliths you find all three and then make it out you've got to make it back out of the Vault okay so far so good but I don't know whether or not we'll uh we'll actually manage to find them oh that one fizzled out oh you're so fast this one oh two pieces of larimar let's try and get that one first okay that fizzled out Ambush okay oh and black opal nothing we got some we got some from that as well thank you okay that did not fizzle out and that is a creeper so this one's a little bit scarier ow it's fine okay next round of fighters in fact I'm gonna step back over here and put away some stuff a bit more space we're gonna have to deal with another swarm of people though oh managed to get it first that's good with the way we're going loot wise as oh that's another one up there quickly let's grab it and go with the way we're going loot wise and oh please you're so fast and killing uh enemies wise we might even make it to level one in our first fall oh that's a fizzle oh that was a bad fall okay now we're looking a little worse for where and I'm tempted to just leave we don't have any healing oh that's probably worth going up to we've got to be careful we can't just greed and lose the amazing progress we've already made okay I've already been up here that's good we may be able to get up there safely because they should just knock themselves off the edge yeah and it's ambush come here come here those are some delicious looking chests nice that is a good amount of stuff okay we've got one friend down here who took some fall damage and just talk some more two of them actually lovely okay I think we go for those for yours a little bit more larimar would be lovely just want to see not an ambush I'm a little worried about this one okay no larimar do I really need this ancient debris possibly not look at all them down there let's grab that let's head down I got to get far enough away from that spawner that I don't have them spawn on here okay this is so risky I don't think I'm far enough away I'm so scared come a little bit closer oh my God it's a little bit cheesy but I don't have the health to worry about that right now put it up there so they get a little bit closer and now it's just the children yes a little pedestal for you come on come on up you get come on come on just a little bit closer let's leave let's just leave it's too much we've done plenty we've got plenty let's leave with the loot that we've gained and call it a successful Vault still nearly nearly eight minutes left but honestly I don't even care there's our exits and I'm just gonna take that for memory psych Walnut hey I like it don't know where I'll get it but I like it nice we got 2038 experience that is definitely into level one so we managed to unalive 81 took 9.4 damage and dealt 1350 very nice we got quite a few chests wait let's see chess loot at 33 broke two coin piles not too bad one and a half levels oh yeah that is fantastic not only that but we got two black Opals six netherite ingots a bunch of chromatic iron and iron ingots knowledge Essence a bunch of Vault dust look at all this magic silk Driftwood what is that used for a lot of things by the look of it yes a very common crafting material gotcha oh you can craft these now cool we got some burger parts we got some Diamond nuggets some different types of focus which is cool Harvard nugget hey what does that make carbon which is used in making chromatic steel okay we even got chromatic Steel I mean that was pretty good right not bad at all but this episode is pretty much done it's gone long enough and so what I want to do just before we finish up ah it's one of those one of those and one of those do that that and that hey [Music] hey look at us go a full set of netherride it's getting dark hold on a full set of netherite armor lovely I'm not going to do the tools just yet because I probably want to go and get myself some Enchanted versions and somebody else on the server princess lissy has actually got a really good trade for a fortune 2 efficiency 3 Unbreaking 3 pickaxe so I think I'm going to go over there and grab myself one of those but that'll probably happen in between episodes so I hope you enjoyed this one I'm really excited for this world I think things are going to go really really well in this area and we had a very successful first Vault I think I am going to take heal it just seems like a nice one to have inside the vault and it makes such a pretty noise and we have two extra pieces of netherride here to
