okay so I've got this problem with my windows 11 installation now what the problem is is I'm stuck on version 21 H2 now the latest version at the time of recording this video in September 2023 is 22 H2 I believe the next version Windows of version 23 H1 I believe is coming out shortly and I haven't even got the one before that and when I try to go to Windows update check for updates it's basically not offering me that update to Windows 22 H2 it's just giving me sort of normal updates so how do I get around this how do I get the latest version of Windows 11 on my laptop well I know the reason why I'm not getting it is basically because my laptop doesn't support t M2 and my processor is not supported either don't forget to like this video share it and subscribe to my channel doing these three things help us make more great videos for you so as I say I'm stuck on Windows 11 version 21 H2 at the moment I really want Windows 11 version 22 H2 which is the latest version as of the time of recording this video how do I get it so what I'm going to do is I'm just going to make sure first of all that all the latest updates are installed as you can see I've got one in the in the midst of being installed and it wants to restart so I'm going to restart the computer and let that update just install first of all so this is what I would think is best for you as well just do a restart check see if there's any updates then do a restart even if there's no updates waiting do restart anyway it's a good thing to restart your computer once in a while just to clear out the rubbish I'm just logging back in so what we're going to need to do is we're going to need to open our web browser so I'm going to open up Microsoft Edge once Edge is open let's just go to the address bar at the top of the screen and delete out whatever's in it and then we need to go to github.com forward slash capital a small V Small E capital Y and then o for Oscar so I'll put this link in the description of the video down below so if you need to pause the video to copy it down so once you've typed that in press enter or return on your keyboard you should see this screen then so let's just scroll down and across we want to click on mediacreation tool.bat left click once on that then you want to move your mouse over code and just move your mouse over the arrow pointing downwards left click once and click on download zip wait for the file to download now it should once it's downloaded appear at the top here if you can't see it then close down the browser go to any yellow folder and then find your downloads folder just over there and you should see in there media creation tool dot bat hyphen main double left click double left click on that and then click extract all then click on extract just down there then double click on mediacreation tool dot bat hyphen main then double click on bypass 11 and then find skip TPM check on Dynamic updates there are hyphens or there's underscore sorry under between those words so skip underscore tpn underscore check underscore on underscore Dynamic underscore update move your mouse over that click on the right Mouse button that's the button on the right hand side of the mouse not the left and then you should get a sub menu come up and move your mouse over run as administrator left click once you'll probably get this message come up saying Windows protected your PC click on more info and then click on run anyway don't worry this is safe okay the screen might darken or you might see a shield flashing at the bottom of the screen click on the shield the screen will darken what you want to do here is when you see this do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device move your mouse over yes left click once okay so you then should see this skip TPM check on Dynamic update version whatever the update is so we want to click on the cross just up there in the top right hand corner click on the cross again and maybe what we can do is we can now restart the computer again so click on the start button click on the power icon and then click on restart let the computer restart just as I am and then what we want to do is we want to open up Edge once again or your browser and then click in the address bar right at the top delete out anything that's in there and then just type microsoft.com forward slash software hyphen download forward slash Windows 11. all in lower case and no spaces and if you need to pause this video and jot this link down once you've done that tap enter or return on your keyboard and you should see this page here if you've typed in the correct address scroll down and then find download Windows 11 disk image ISO for x64 devices and click on the little drop down arrow just to the right of Select download just select Windows 11 multi-edition ISO for x64 devices and then click on download now it says here select the product language so let's just click on the drop down so collect your language mine is English and then click on confirm then click on 64-bit download now this bit is going to take a bit of time because the windows 11 installation file which we're downloading is absolutely huge so as you can see mine says it's going to take about 38 minutes at the moment so I'm going to pause this video and we'll come back to it very shortly okay so it's now downloaded so let's just get rid of that go to a yellow folder go to the downloads folder and we should see there there you go the win 11 so let's just right click on that and then left click the word Mount and then double click setup and then click yes a black box might flash up like mine just did and then it's starting to install so there we go we just click next and there we go we come up with the license agreement so we just accept that and it's checking for updates again this is quite normal so on mine still checking for updates this can take some time so just be patient with it while it's doing that I should say that it's a good idea that before you do upgrade or do any updates to pick up anything important one of the questions I'm most asked in the comments down below is will I lose my stuff by following this well if it all goes wrong yes you will lose your stuff so it let's say if you've got anything important on there make sure that you've got backup copies of anything important any pictures files music videos Etc make sure you've got passwords to be able to get back into things if it all goes wrong make sure that you know your email password make sure that you've got the software to be able to reinstall it either the download links to reinstall software or the media you originally got the software on and of course any license key so yes please do backup if you're you've got anything important before doing this upgrade okay so it's finally finished checking for updates and now it says ready to install so now's the time to back out if you don't want to update or if you've still got a backup your files but if you're okay with the possibility of losing your files now you probably won't but if anything goes wrong during the the update then you could quite easily lose some files as I say so if you're happy with that then move your mouse over install left click once the screen will go blue and you will get a message there saying installing Windows 11 your PC will restart several times this might take a while and you get a percentage come up on the screen now at times you might notice this percentage stops don't worry it probably hasn't stopped whatever you do do not power off your PC at point the PC is going to restart a few times it's going to get to a hundred percent and it's going to restart then it's probably going to go up to about 30 and going to restart and then it will probably go up to around about 70 and restart and then finally it should get to a hundred percent it might restart at 100 or it just may well log in with the with the computer upgraded to the latest version of Windows 11. I'm going to pause this video and we'll come back here at key points and have a look see what it's doing okay so it's the first restart it says your PC will restart in a few moments okay so mine's come up and said your PC will restart in a few moments this is the first restart of many so once again just be patient with it let the computer restart and here we are the computers restarted and it's now working on updates now at times it might look as though it's got stuck as you can see mine's stuck at three percent but as it says please keep your computer on and your computer May restart a few more times so as you can see mine jumped up pretty quickly there from three percent to about 30 and it's probably gonna restart now it usually does around about 30 percent but we'll come back to this video as I say a little bit later on in the part of the upgrade to Windows 11. okay so it got to a hundred percent there and uh it's now saying please wait so uh lucky enough only one restart or two restarts sorry in that installation as you can see it's now going in and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna check and just make sure in a moment that we have upgraded so it's just getting a few things ready and there you go it says this might take a few minutes don't turn off your PC so we'll come back to it in a moment okay so we've just restarted so let's go into the start button then enter settings and then let's go to system and then down to about and there we go as you can see there at the bottom just beside version we've we've not got version 22 H2 so what would be a good idea now is is to close this off go into the yellow folder and then go into your downloads folder just over there on the right and what we want to do is we want to get rid of the files that we've just downloaded so you can delete the media creation tool back hi for main so let's just delete that you can right click on it then click on the bin and then right click on the other one and click on the bin there's two of them so and then you're looking for the Windows installation file that you downloaded you should see this down there it should start win 11 and then the version number and then the language followed by x64 so right click on that and again click on the bin to get rid of that and you might want to for good measure also empty your recycle bin that just frees up a lot of space on the system so there you go I hope you like this video and if you did please help support this channel if you you're looking for a VPN a fire stick or fire stick accessories have a look in the description of this video there's some links down below with some great deals and buying through those links really does help support this channel it helps me to dedicate more time to researching and bringing these videos to you and also whilst you're here at my YouTube Channel please why not have a look around I've got thousands of other videos right here right now covering all sorts of subjects hopefully whilst you're here you're going to find something to educate you entertain you amuse you and maybe even save you some time and money thanks for watching
