[Music] who has the unorthodox approach of ending on his right foot watch him despair in order to keep things on an even keel he'll have to strike here on four and that he does lou campy with a strike in the second frame giving him 20 pins through the first ron williams a lot of league bowling in the st louis area now bowling out of fort worth's first shot matches undefeated [Applause] [Applause] flush like that this time two early opens jones can take the lead if he can continue to strike here he likes it and he should okay prince as most folks call them the backwards folder i think the obvious question is how did you start rolling backwards honestly i did it on a bit uh just as a joke because i'm horrible forward i just pushed one down the lane backward and it struck that's where it started started and just can't stop this looks and sounds like your typical strike look again andrew cowan is a world record holder in backwards bowling with a 280. spare in the second frame and 11 strikes total in the game andrew has spent his spare time on the lane since he was 10 bowling regularly and actually threw a 300 forwards so why make the change nobody's thrown a 300 and i figured it would be a interesting challenge to kind of throw that way one of the most common questions that andrew gets is of course how do you do it and i've got him here to explain well you're gonna take the ball by your side you're gonna take step back push away step two you're gonna have the ball down step three you're gonna have the ball forward swing in front of you and step four you're gonna throw it back down to one six two two fifty look at his approach guys he's not making this up if it works it works right i mean you've seen people with odd swings and not a pro what did you learn about bowling out here with the big guys i learned a lot as far as you know i i really don't bold enough to be able to throw it consistently with inside of an inch yeah it's a good packs 10. this run game but he held on had plenty of distance over ray lucier the number four spot fight through it somehow just find a way to get her done he is on the game's biggest stage 10 pen and it's not getting any easier he pulled the 300 this week and averaged just a fraction under 250. but he also did say that cheetah is one of his favorite oil patterns [Applause] that's a good follow-up to an open frame well jeff doubles they'll turn around in a match here quantra up next the subject of our track tech talk yeah and uh something you don't see on the big tour hardly at all he uses a conventional grip and the finger holes are big the thumb hole is big but what that does is allows him to roll his wrist up underneath the ball and create all that power the speed is created with his legs the power is created with his wrist of his arsenal just three [Music] and leaving the 10.
