alright hello everybody welcome to undertale we are doing this today at sgdq 2018 we're just gonna do a quick start of a countdown so everybody five four three two one go alright so we'll be doing the true pacifist route today but we've met the donation incentive for all yellow credits shoutouts to everybody who donated and Toby Fox who donated enough money to push over 30 grand [Applause] thanks Toby see us we're gonna meet toriel here oh the cursor it happened again every time dude so now to just introduce everyone on the couch I'm cookie pocalypse yo I'm Jay I'm BBC yeah this is undertale okay and i'm ever trade in case you didn't hear it the first time so we're gonna run from this first froggit here we don't need to talk to him yeah even if you wanted to get the yellow credit on that froggen you can't because toriel stops the battle after one turn thanks mom and so now coming up in this next room we have probably the most important strat in the whole game what we're gonna be doing here is walking well facing down on the ceiling and a the saves like minute shoutouts to Tanner it gets the yellow credit for the ruins wall so coming up here we have the first battle we're going to encounter and get her first yellow credit so we're gonna do just a tiny grind in here if we don't get it right away so we got the Frog get so we're gonna compliment and then spare and also the interesting thing about the Frog is there's a bit of luck there if you get the frog attack you can run into it and skip his turn like you just saw there and now we just need another wins and or our whims in here and we just have to console that nice and fast as long as we don't get unlucky it's a 50% chance here and unfortunately like if this happens you kind of just have to like come back into this room and grind for an extra encounter 50-50 chance hey there is there yeah unfortunately because of encounter looked like that it really only applies in the ruins but in the ruins it is a huge pain so this rock you don't really have to move the other two you just tell me out the move the one and we got frog it's so we could have gotten molds moles there but since we didn't get the molds well there we're gonna go ahead and do the sparing sequence in waterfall instead this is the best character in the game shut up Stu knobs to blue [Applause] it's very dapper okay so we're approaching the second half of ruins here so there's gonna be different monsters that will spawn here so just to be safe we're gonna grind out things what we got anyways so Lucas we're gonna not pick on him don't be a bully says Toby Vox all right so now we're gonna go eat some vegetables with vegetto down here it's just a lot safer in general to grab this scripted encounter here generally if you're going for like perfect luck you can just like go to the last room and get all three of the encounters here you need and a triple but that's super rare hey and wow that's actually pretty good that's everything we need just need to talk to my guys and you can also run into his attacks to skip the turn all right so we got all yellow credits in ruins that was pretty good now we just got to go fast [Music] okay so this not going to be too much happening here for a little bit you have time for donations for just about a minute here all right we have a $150 and 66 cents donation from the great papyrus Wow sans so we're coming up on the toriel fight now nice menu tactical so this fight fortunately for us is just as luck dependent as the rest of the ruins she has a hand attack up in the top left corner of the like attack box at whatever use if you run into it okay also something really quickly here that's like pixel perfect for whatever it's weird and you only take one damage for some reason but that actually allows us to get up to eight of these hand attacks right there [Music] odds of getting a hand attack are about one in three usually so let's switch chat if you want to spam some bless RNG and he's just taking damage here because on the final turn if you don't get a hand and get hit it'll still skip it because toriel no longer wishes to attack you so it looks like unfortunately that was kind of unlucky I think that was a three cancel which is it's not the worst thing ever but it's pretty below average reset but still overall this is like really good especially for a marathon run okay so we're gonna be leaving runes here we're gonna go into snow den where we're gonna meet a couple of cool dudes and sand that's it say bye ever mom my mom [Music] see you [Music] okay so also really quickly I'm just gonna go over like how text mashing works in this game basically most runners prefer to mash in a pattern there's a bunch of different ways to do the pattern but for the most part everything is the same speed and yeah so we've really just got a cutscene here and then a little bit of walking so this would probably be a good time for some donations all right we have a one during my favorite game I'll donate five more for a correct answer to the question would you smooch a ghost heck yeah it's pretty spooky forest guys I'm scared oh god what's that don't look back uh-huh don't look back oh no you look it's nests from earthbound shoutouts to the Goodell will be cushion in the hand an age-old classic shout outs the convenient lamps [Music] now yeah that that happens sometimes basically he tried to set up that thing where you walk while facing down again and unfortunately because of the way it that works we have to like click out of the window and if you like click out of the window holding like off in order to move down you have to you have to like release and then press up again it doesn't make any sense to me but it's a thing also an important thing to realize is we saved there that is not just for safety but also at the very end of Snowden we do have a chance to run into some attacks that save time ok so we're gonna be going into a battle here with our good friend snow Drake his yellow Curt why don't we distract a look at the joke you can tell we we saw the joke there is pretty funny so we're gonna laugh at it [Music] ha ha dog oh we got a dog pat pat pat pat-pat-pat someone's been shot alright so we actually gonna walk under the ice here to progress the step counter so we run into ice cap who we're gonna punch in the face and then after beating him up we're gonna steal his hat yeah this is this is true pass true pacifist and now we're gonna steal and compliment him he looks great without his hat it's a nice block of ice all right now we're gonna get into the very very hard puzzles of the run [Music] unfortunately this one there's no really clear indication on where to go so we just have to memorize it but if you memorize it it's not that bad dude how did you do that so who likes junior jumble [Music] Junior jumble or crossword crossword junior jumble is hot junior jumble it is I guess it's palms are sweaty so in the Lester dog fight we throw the stick at him first because for some reason that has the same effect as petting him twice and then we just have to pet one more time to get his yellow credit you can actually pet that guy for like upwards of ten minutes up roots three years yeah he goes to the sky then he comes back down there's actually a category extension for who can pet him the fastest was the first category I ever ran okay so there's two attacks for the sequence here you have the ax attack and maybe we'll get the other one so we're gonna recent if like the dog and now we get to pet both of them yep you roll around and then get Reese tips and I smell like a dog so they let you pet them yeah here's the other attack this one's like one second slower that's a very hard to dodge oh I hit the wrong one we're about to go job rip [Music] stop rolling around we already ran Sonic [Music] very hard puzzle here while you're incredible and in the next room they like tried to turn up the difficulty a little bit more but papyrus doesn't really want us to do the puzzle yet he installed a switch that completes it for you speaking of switches undertale is coming to the switch so now that in this room we just get to decide to not do the puzzle yeah it's actually faster to be dumb in this room and not understand the puzzle all right so since we've pet lesser dogs they've now come is the first like actual glitch in the run I've known as I suppose give basically here by ending or like by getting in a pixel perfect position on this block they're good things we can skip the end cutscene of this area I'm sucking right now and then interestingly because of like subpixels it's different it's a different pixel that you have to stand on if you come in from that room I'm pretty sure it's one pixel farther to the right so yeah because like sub pixels are messed up it didn't work unfortunate and also probably the hardest part of this run so we have to remember to go down and get gift rot in this room yeah so there's a special enemy called gift shot you can only encounter them in this room you never see this in any of the other categories areas I mean it's almost July but I guess it's Christmas time [Music] so in order to get his yellow credit you just have to be the Grinch and undecorated and he's happy about it now we have her friend greater dog this is the main reason we healed earlier he has a dog attack at the bottom of the screen that you can run into and it skips the turn so hopefully we'll get like five of those shoutouts the dogs on Anderson Lee because you're slower on this turn if you get a dog's gift you actually have to like take extra damage in order to just get the turn oh that's adorable [Music] all right so this is the deadly gauntlet of deadly terror pretty difficult I got a whole bunch of weapons and then our friendly dog up on the right toward camp yeah I'm more scared of that dog than anything else if you completely honest with you I must ask where papyrus obtained a flamethrower [Music] okay so there's an optional strat you can do here it doesn't save time but if you interact with the sign in front of the igloo the frame you enter you can use that to wrong work into the pyres bossfight room saves a whole two frames it does not save time speaking of fires boss fight but now we're moving in the fires fight this is actually probably the hardest part of the run so I'm just gonna be quiet unless you know you do this all right snow you got this come on I believe in you I've got money on you dude I'll do what are you doing I'm trying you're not supposed to go into the down okay thinking I had $100 on you don't worry he just puts us in his garage so we can try again don't worry we got this you got it this time snowy that was really hard I'm sorry I'll try again it's actually slightly easier the second time because you skipped like the very start of the fight so if we should be good here hopefully fingers crossed oh you're blue what are you doing I'm trying like I'm trying I tried out of in snow he supposed to jump come on man try holding up to jump right in holding up it's just he's pushing me back down the corner come on what are you doing I'm trying my best okay well they say third time's the charm right I guess let's try it again [Music] you got this and there we come on I believe that Dunn's chub come on all right papyrus here we go oh okay now I'm just kidding now I'm just getting salted slowly come on man I'll put you're better than this okay come on last hit you got come on just just jump [Music] and there it is hey we people fire in it it's a first try doing it actually yeah it's faster papyrus this fight takes a really long time it's like a minute and a half I think we honestly three different people have timed it and got like largely different numbers though so we don't really know for sure we got beaten up by him three times now we're gonna go datum this is the proper course of events and actually I'm gonna use this as a chance to talk about the different versions of the game so we are currently playing on the 1.001 linux version of the game specifically the linux version because it fixed the inputs a little bit basically on the original version of the game if you held down enter and press Z the first input wouldn't work for the second would and the Linux version fixed that unfortunately like on the current version of the game the inputs have a bit more of an issue and like it's basically entered Z and X and shift are treated as the same button but also the fastest version of the game is the Japanese version but we decided to plan English because it's better [Music] also super important strap their spaghetti skip refused to eat the spaghetti saves like three seconds I can never do it I really like a shirt he's a cool dude and unfortunately the very start of waterfall is kind of uneventful but pretty soon we'll be getting a certain item that does the fast all right so we have time for donations here just a little bit of time like a couple minutes okay we have a one thousand dollar donation undertale helped me get through a hard time in my life and i couldn't think of a better way to pay it forward and we also have a $1,100 donation from the Maple Kingdom greetings from the Queen Regent and the rest of the Maple Kingdom we couldn't be bone idle and not donate during this sensational undertale run to be honest the host has a secret she is a funny bone for puns so be sure to send all your humorous rib ticklers [Music] [Applause] manful in final fantasy 6 all right we're gonna beat our little buddy here monster kid poor guy so in this room we have probably the most annoying puzzle in the game these flowers can be really awkward to grab sometimes and if you like make a small mistake in placing them you lose like 10 seconds really quickly so here we have Aaron who were gonna run from he's scary we can't get his yellow credit now unfortunately and he's actually the only yellow credit that we get outside of battle I think yeah yeah but we will get washed with yellow credit in this next room [Music] all right so we're gonna take a bath [Music] another we're all clean he's happy take showers kids [Music] and so Undine is gonna throw a bunch of spears at us yeah that's a thing they're really only like the the main important thing that's happening here is most of the time we're kind of manipulating her to aim the spears towards the bottom and honestly your hitbox is kind of messed up and like part of the head doesn't exist and there's a large portion like you can get hit under you but luckily nothing weird happens there you can't get hit by any of these Spears you can actually get hit on the second volley really I've done it way too many times now if you're like at the very bottom and it comes from the bottom and I think the same for the top if you just stay in the middle there and just go forward you'll never get hit by a spear Wow undyne just touched me never washing my hands again in this case his face oh yeah he doesn't have hands all right so we're coming up on the the greatest item of all time it's a little something called the punch card now if you play it undertale casually you might have just not even knowing this thing existed I sure as heck tin it but basically when you buy an ice cream from this salesman he'll put an ice punch card in the box and this punch card uh it does very interesting things yeah basically if you get three of them you could buy another nice parry add four fats that's the main function it's definitely not knowing there you go it definitely doesn't break the game into so that is actually frame perfect we'll kind of get into the explanation of that because that's like the most complicated version of glitch with the punch card we're just gonna start off with the face that's in like a second but first we got to get the yellow credit for molds ma we're gonna run into right now so we gotta flirt with them it's a really meaningful conversation and then you're just good to go so now in this next room we're gonna like do the first normal punch card exploit basically this was just known as like a normal PCE and if you open your menu on the same pixel that a cutscene starts and then use the punch card the cutscene will start before the punch card appears on your screen and then you can close the punch card which allows you movement during the cutscenes but unfortunately knowing this that this is one of the harder punch card exploits because there's no like clear visual cue on where it is alright so shy Rin we're gonna hum at them a bunch a lot yeah five times I checked the job that can get kinda tough to dodge in the later stages because it's completely random so sometimes it's really easy and other times it's a little touhou in here great no heads [Applause] so hopefully now in this room you'll see the first like successful PC me basically how it works this one doesn't say very much time so most runners either like try to go for it like only frame perfectly or just don't even care also another coolest thing about this text box is if you mash away this too early monster kit will just like slowly walk past you and you'll softlock he's gonna do it again here so one time I'll so holding down up and down in this room makes you walk at double speed don't ask it's not worth explaining nobody knows why so an interesting small skip here basically the the thing that makes the punch guard work is when you use your when you open the punch curtain your menu one frame passes and then the punch card appears on your screen so what he did there was he interacted with monster kid and that one frame before the punch card appeared on his screen and then closing the punch card allows him to move after talking to monster kid and we can use that to store text boxes and stuff like you've probably already seen and that was actually really clean undines views to scale along so it's not gonna skip the whole thing just the actuation cuts in you still have to dodge spears unfortunately which gives us a nice solid lead over time yeah undines got a sprint to catch up with us we're going places she's coming eventually she'll be there undyne done there she is also kind of interesting Lee with these spheres if you like move towards the bottom you can kind of get them to shoot off the bottom of the map so entering Spears to actually get rid of our menu so we can't skip this cutscene but we actually need this cutscene to progress so and that works out so undines just gonna break the bridge we're gonna fall a distance I don't know that game never really clarifies how far you fall here it'd be that far because the duck things up there sgdq huh that's a nice name my name is spoilers don't worry we'll have another chance later basically what he was trying to do there is if you uh walk up and right at a pixel perfect position you can walk on top of the water and you could also do it by wrong work thing into this room yeah yeah yeah basically that was a good time to explain how wrong work actually no it's not because we've got to come up on the mad dummy fight well explain it right after you so the Matt dummy fight here at the start of fight we're actually going to not hit him as much as we can in order to manipulate his attack patterns basically if you hit him too much he will skip an attack and doing it this way allows you to hit him a lot more and all yellow credits you also need to talk to him at least once during the fight and then you'll get the credit submit be asking wait why aren't you skipping that dummy there's actually not one but two invisible walls after the mad dummy fight Toby really did not want speedrunners to skip Matt dummy I'm good for it - it's the most interactive fight in the game probably so you can see this is the attack here that we delayed to get there's a lot of cotton balls view let's see if snow we can get five cycle that's the most optimum you can get that's really good that's really good yeah should have it yeah definitely nice [Applause] all right anyway now the old dummies are out and he's gonna bring in some mecha dummies we turned into robot Rockets yeah and these don't matter at all hitting that dummy doesn't speed anything up or lose any time yeah you actually just need to progress the fight now I'm gonna hit him anyways oof [Music] this music is great by the way [Music] I'm at dummy weight actually one more thing make sure to dodge this the hardest attack to dodge in the game tonight easy does I guess he's got a nice by the way these teardrops actually do do 1 point of damage I may or may not of one point loss to run to that so normally we would skip this cutscene but it's a little weird and like the text kind of gets stuck if you try to save there so what's know he's doing here i's known as aron work and basically what he's doing is he's lining up perfectly against this green transition so that when he opens that when he uses the punch card in his menu in the one frame before the punch card appears on his screen you actually walk into the screen transition and then the punch card appears on your screen and the important thing about these is when the punch card appears on your screen you will like wrong warp into the default position in the next room but if you don't close your punch card before you fully screen transition you'll actually be in the next room but not be able to move and that's just a soft lock so you need to make sure to close the punch card before entering the next screen stemming and then you also have to make sure to not walk back into the screen transition boy point is we have one of the harder tricks coming up here in the run this is something called flour flow it's interesting but it's fun alright so snow he gets the first half of it you have to do this one more time and then you'll get the full skip he tried but whatever he did get the first half of it so he's not losing any time at all because he got to walk over to the left but if he did get the skip he'd be able to move around during this cutscene and do fun things and unfortunately you still left like watched the whole cutscene but when it ends you get movement back a lot faster yeah the path for doesn't actually open until this cutscene is done right now and now the path opens here silence here for the hardest trick in the game right here nice sorry here we go [Music] all right so that was something called one dine so in the Undine cutscene there there are three triggers there is the first cutscene there's the second cutscene and then the screen transition so what you have to do is punch guard the first screen transit our punch card the first cutscene punch guard the second cutscene and then wrong warp out of the room during a very specific time while Undine is coming down from the top after you mash away her text otherwise it just doesn't work that's also like a super weird wrong warp it works like differently from every other run worth in the game for some reason that I don't know why but doing all of that allows you to not only skip the Undine cutscenes but only have to fight her once so this is gonna be our last attacking then we're just gonna run away from her so how precise was each of those interactions with three all of them are frame-perfect ji well the wrong word isn't pretty perfect yeah well might as well be if it was Ocarina of Time it seems like the hard stuff isn't frame-perfect and then also here if we skip this cutscene and you don't have to Undine water yeah the game sets a flag if you ignore Undine and leave her like heat exhaustion if you leave her there it sets a flag but if you ever actually watched the cutscene it never sets that flag so you can just walk past and the game thinks you wanted her so yay thanks to Toby for letting a speedrun so anyway we just skipped quiz show and now Alfie's is gonna text us a bunch even though we could never met her I don't know who this person is your phone doesn't even take texts goodness all right so this is Vulcan in neutral runs we kill him but we're gonna spare him because we're nice people I never just gonna walk through this nice conveyor belt sequence and walk up so in this room the punch card does weird things with these vents it lets you do stuff like that alright so here we have a plain shoutouts the polar plain facts and you're gonna approach the plane he had a hit before those green things and then we can just hit this green transition from the back here and I just put this in the room normally we're gonna go grab the pan because we're gonna beat the crap out of a score with a pan sounds right and then there's some wacky stuff you could do at the end of this room but for the most part he's just gonna take a normal safe shortcut onto that done and now these lasers also have like pretty bad hit boxes they're hit boxes are like there's a decent amount in front of the lasers that can actually hit you [Music] and out in this room we can just use this vent to go straight through the door puzzles what are those never heard of them anyway so we gonna use this for this conveniently placed refrigerator even though you can't see it a little more to the right again and he's gonna not only get tech storage but open up the punch card one more time it kind of messes with the sequence that the game runs but it lets you completely skip cooking show and the jetpack sequence just that's pretty cool and now just because we loved undying so much we're going back to waterfalls yeah the real reason is that uh doing and skipping any of the mettaton cutscenes as soon as they activate uuhh the game sets you to a state where you can't use your menu and that's no good so we're gonna leave hotland and get our menu back and now we have our menu so we can do wrong warps and teleport and stuff also you can use the punch card on the elevators and that mean who who like who waits for elevators honestly and we here we have a rope so this is PI rope we call him heat rope because it's no we called them the heat rope once on stream while he wasn't thinking I don't know why that's stuck but it just did we're gonna heat up twice it's gonna get really hot in here it's gonna start looking like Florida and then we're gonna spare them alright I'd like to issue a volume warning oh yeah make sure you turn up your headset for this it's really nice it's not super big but basically the problem here is that snowy won't answer his phone pick up the phone that's stylish anyway it's no he's gonna take a safety safe here and they were gonna walk into the double feature we're gonna skip the Royal Guards and then we're gonna skip the new show too interestingly even though this is all you'll credits there is only one way to spare the Royal Guards so if we don't kill them the game just assumes we did it and we don't have to worry about them at all so you're just gonna buffer in the dark and there we go nice I got it goodbye anyway if you mash this text away here you can actually get the news music so it's newsworthy and now we don't have our menu again so we're gonna go back once more there'll be one more time and just like two minutes breaking news story speedrunner goes fast i mean we got our menu back fun music is gone now unfortunate and we're just gonna head back to the main path now again waiting for elevators is really overrated so we don't have time for that and then the wait who's that character there I don't I don't recognize them though is that Sam that's an Theon don't know who that is so in this skip in order to skip this puzzle here on top of the punch card being framed perfect we actually have to close that frame perfectly in order to be able to get out of bounds good job I was really good yeah that skip can be annoying and we're just gonna walk behind the door all right so I thought I've never gotten the point of this room there's just a room full of empty cobwebs I don't know there's a couple of spiders I don't know what's going on in this room let's like point at the tone was there like supposed to be an enemy here or something I guess it's scary Celeste Potter related I'm sorry everybody I'm sorry you don't get to hear the best song in the game I'm sorry guys and then it's the same thing for Muffet that it is for guards you don't have to fight her because there's only one way to spare or at least like no matter how you spare you get the yellow credit mm-hmm okay so we just walked past opera so we don't have our menu again but instead of going right to the elevator we're actually gonna go up here and watch this cutscene yeah watching a cutscene you know jail speed oh and I know but basically when you skip opera in that way and you don't do the tile puzzle underneath the game never sets your story flag so by going and watching that cutscene you have the right story flag now and you can actually use the elevator if you tried to leave and go use that elevator early you won't be able to come back to right floor 3 and it's a yeah it's not fun and we can just loop left floor 3 infinitely and you skip in the game you can skip Muffit over and over again just that rub the salt in the wound and this is the last time we have to go back to waterfall we're gonna have our menu for the rest of the run thankfully I think yeah yeah so again elevators nobody likes the way for elevators bye and we're gonna head up the core after crossing through the Ojai sands by sands after crossing through this nice hotel so core it's an interesting place a lot of lava skips actually two first things first we're gonna skip this encounter here nice this laser pattern is always the same it's always blue blue yellow it's exactly the opposite of what uh alfea's tells you you can't skip these two phone calls here because Toby put invisible wall I don't know why yeah most of Alfie's is phone calls have invisible walls so we're gonna hold the textbox there and run into these lasers and because of doing that the lasers never actually refreshed so you can walk right through there's also another variation of that skip you can do that was cool and no one does that anymore yeah it feels bad it's not faster okay so use the core puzzle we're just gonna complete real quick and then also because we closed the punch card after interacting with it we can kind of use the cutscene to try to wrong warp out because basically if the cutscene ends while you're still in the screen transition that'll work the same way as like a normal rotten work alright so this here this is unique to all yellow credits we're actually gonna go up to the Warriors path to get all of our encounters so first up is uh wings a lot and final froggit both of them that are in the same way actually you just have to mystify for final frog and you have to I think for a your limbs a lot yeah and now we're gonna run into the greatest encounter in the game night night and magic just know he's actually gonna do a safe strat here where he's gonna stare at both of the orbs the fastest route is just to talk to him but that messes with your controls and these guys do a lot of damage they're kind of scary anyway we got magic done so now we're just gonna put night night to sleep by singing at it it's an interesting factor if you hung with siren it only takes two turns to sing night night to sleep yeah usually takes three but I guess we learned how to be really good at singing okay so we're gonna be coming up to a stigmatism here it is a 50-50 chance here because it could either be picked on time it's pick on all right let's do pick on don't pick it ah come on cookie pick on like 90 percent of the time okay obvious you know this time if you said don't pick on it would have been pick on I've never gotten there right when I went for pick on first all right not don't pick on it that's all the yellow credits for course so we're just probably gonna take a seat yeah we're just gonna take a safety stay before the mettaton fight it's actually pretty challenging yeah hard fight coming up here see you loser see you loser all right so in neutral you just get this upcoming cutscene but since we're in the true pacifist route we actually do have to watch this cutscene because this sets the flag for medicine being spared and if you don't have this you can't do dates so this cutscenes gonna finish we're gonna walk into the elevator it's a really long elevator not really at all actually so as long as you hear that noise at the elevator that's held on the elevator actually was supposed to be hey hear that sound it's still belen we're like all the way in new home and it's still going yeah it's still going still going it's actually probably my favorite part of their at-st all right so here we have this nice long boring story segment residentsleeper so there is actually a couple of like decently sized skips we can skip a couple of encounters here so basically what he's gonna do is like a nice you can just barely get into the room with that cutscene and what that does is it gives us the Winston encounter here instead of a triple mold small which takes forever and that saves like 10 seconds and also interestingly way this fight works is that he's gonna use the PI first turn but from then on he's just gonna be hitting him with a pan and the pan has four attacks little bars that pass through that you needed time perfectly every time you do that four times it's called a quad and it does double damage if you manage to land it so the best you can do for as Gore is beating them in nine terms as opposed like 18 if you don't get quads nine turns not including the pi turn yeah also each individual bars frame perfect' so you've only got to hit 36 frame perfect' inputs in a row it's pretty easy so I challenge you you get yield at the end of it anyway so who cares so it's not about you know conserving health or anything it's just about getting to the act as fast as possible but for somebody who's fought this guy hundreds of times pretty hard to die to him can't happen though so we're gonna move on to our third soul phase which is the ballet shoes if you're not careful this one you can actually miss the egg button all you have to do is just go to the right of the screen and just mash and turns II it's really not that hard I don't know how anybody could miss that I've missed this I agree I on it I don't know I don't know how you do it I've missed it once before it was there any embarrassing that's like even harder than dying I've died to flowey multiple times like maybe four times and speedruns Bobby has a lot of attacks he's got a laser he's got a flamethrower the only ones that got it there's a bunch more kind of on the shelf that's actually when I was making this this turned out to be like way more assets than all the other sprites in the game and Toby was like no we can't was one of the attacks launching a car into space alright left or right right I'm here in laughs I'm here in left-left it's laughs laughs laughs no there's like a strat I do every time based on like the site the previous words come from and it all it works what I do it but every time I've told somebody it hasn't worked oh yeah blah Blee use the savestates by the way cheater like yeah Wow he teeth to make it like super easy for you because you know he's what he's doing you just like tap left a little you move like a way it shoots faster and then at the very end of this right when like the phase normally ends and you would start to heal we're actually gonna close the game and relaunch it in order attentions to detail on this game is that at the very beginning of this fight he does save 6 saved at when he's at full HP so if you're paying attention you knew this was coming and now he's got you surrounded I don't know what you're gonna do now but we're gonna move into his palace the curse was doing strange [Music] we're gonna act here and then we're gonna move into what I like to call the god pixel you're gonna stand here and the moment the pellets become active they're just gonna hit you immediately boom and you got fully healed thanks flowey I guess they were friendliness pellets after all oh I think TAS BOTS might have hijacked the stream no can't do that anyways we're just gonna kill him yeah again this is one of the things that the game doesn't save so they just slap him and it's faster than sparing him because when you spare him you have to spare him like it's a lot of times a lot of actions get through it and we can move like before the stuff even pops up the as soon as there's a little bit also we closed the game in reload get the small cutscene there and then we're also going to close and reload when undertale shows up on the screen yep alright so we've mean you can skip and walk out of the room but it doesn't do anything warning warning elevator losing power EMS did build Ted did Bedford p.m. his tether stability lost I can't I'll be dropping so we're gonna crash at the bottom of the elevator shaft here we go so we should be dead right now but yeah physics it's not important something about the termination I'm not quite sure anyway first wrong work here we're gonna wrong warp straight to the save point skip a little hallway we're gonna wrong warp again and skip this hallway and it's not wrong work again anytime there again one more wrong work to get know me there you go and now we're gonna talk to this tink four times and we're gonna meet the best encounter in the game memory head who has the best attack in the game yeah so uh losing a run to this this is a really fun thing to lose a run to it's not that bad to touch so we're gonna pull out our cell phone and we can hear them talking and then we're gonna refuse to join them and that'll get us the spare for them and interestingly with the way yellow credits works in true lab here the only encounter that actually matters is the endogamy and normally we would be able to skip it but unfortunately because we have to do these same thing we did the greater dodge to it we will not be able to we will be sort of skipping it though you'll see when we get there and we're gonna do another wrong or if you don't forget the yellow key thank you the key under that bed there you might have not seen it alright so we're gonna head over to and dog any now so it's part of all yellow credits we can't just skip this because there is an actual sequence that we have to do in the battle yeah if you skip it it just assumes you did it the bad way but what we're gonna do is actually use the stick on him which will stop as a tax and then we're gonna do all the actions we got to be careful because we could rip the punk don't rip the punch card please thank you alright so now we're going to beckon him we're gonna pet him we're gonna lay and then we're gonna pet in them we're gonna pet and we're gonna cut again one more time for good measure and that's it and that's all the special stuff are all the credit there are no more yellow credits we have them all ugly I think I mean there are more but those are the only ones that have to focus for oh no we did you get more big I don't think so I kind of realize I just want to thank all right so we're gonna do some actions here with lemon bread honestly he might have gotten old big I got it old small I don't remember I it off before the credits and then assume we did it's always a viable strat okay here's the hardest boss in the game our nice types nice yeah good fight good buddy nice good job so we're gonna grab the blue key entrancingly for some reason holding up and down also moves faster behind these but you can't do it on the way forward because you get stuck behind the valve it and so this is the pretty much the last major skip again this is reverts skipping so we're gonna grab tech storage from these flowers here and we're just no walls right on into the reaper bird cutscene yeah i just like to give a quick shout out to cookie pocalypse you found this skip yeah and then we're gonna wrong warp out of the room to skip the encounter completely it's pretty neat and then we're gonna head down and we're gonna go in okay so overflowing this generator allows you to interact with it twice and keep this textbox so it's gonna do some interesting things to alfea's is text you'll see [Applause] it smells no it smells well smell smells pretty good now and also interestingly if you leave that room a little bit too early before the cutscene you softlock and for just gonna wrong warp right into the elevator room and that's gonna put us right into the cutscene we're gonna exit through lab and head over to a new home simply begin since no he's saved in judgment hall we can just take the elevator sans isn't here unfortunately so we're gonna do the rom boot konbu once again and then go up and fight the final boss it's pretty bad if you softlock to this since the end of the run never done that ever definitely alright so this is gonna be the final battle we're gonna head in and things are gonna happen we're gonna fight flowey again yeah definitely did this time we can't ask oh yeah for sure round two [Music] it was nice than an issue Oh God no he just got blasted so also quick interest mom for some reason the text boxes at the start of this work a bit differently and so you can like skip this text like twice as fast for some reason so we kind of match differently it's it's weird and then it's like the text which is back to normal view and that it's on by mettaton yes oh and unfortunately on the 1.0 version if you press space they would go like back into the kiss position but it's that's not that's not on 1.001 and that's probably the worst part of using this version a tiny flower okay so how come when I'm the bad guy sans beat the crap out of me but when sans but not when flowers the bad guy of course sans does nothing like what I mean nicely oh this is having a great time I see how it is all right now we're gonna get strength from our friends shout out the sir pelo don't touch any child do not touch any child while he's gonna eat everybody now I'm how he does this don't ask me I don't know magic yeah everybody can cry it's okay rowdy sgdq are you there it's me your best friend as real so during the first phase of this that's intentional that's an attachment I don't worry we don't need it anymore and basically at the start of this fight we just have to wait for like the real fight to start yep there's also an important thing if you uh like close this text box the frame like the main part of the fight starts you get kind of a weird glitch unfortunately a little bit late the true final battle really begins this is like the only heart attack in this whole fight and it's the worst thing ever yes no he dodges it like a pro and also because no he chose not to grab any armor earlier he dies in like three hits yeah this is Azrael dreamer the absolutely god of hyper death that is his name in the game it's exactly something that a little kid would come up with so cool also I love the background for this vited it's so simple but it's perfect and the track that's playing a hopes and dreams is probably my favorite song in the OST it's really good I love how over the top all of us really texture it really feels like he's having fun yeah I love the names like chaos saber and star blasters like I didn't know we were doing Pokemon Z moves here where's gigavolt havoc so once you get to the mid phase of this fight as real start upgrading all of his attacks to be harder to dodge like this one isn't this isn't this the same and it's still impossible to dodge because this is like the one attack that's like fully luck thankfully at the beginning of the fight you can use dream to stop all your inventory with items that heal all your HP important thing about this attack here he never attacks the same side more than twice in a row so if he attacks the same side twice you know he's going the other way oh wow are we going through or as we're going for a pretty normal fighting on both sides that attack can be really confusing here's this last attack in this phase anyway [Music] all right so he has one more thing and this is hyper goner so if you don't get hit by this attack at all you maintain pole if you get hit that I buy it at least once you drop to one HP so let's see if you can not get hit here and it's fully luck so you can kind of just like get destroyed if the game hates you nice house the repeat between dodge and now as we was gonna use his he's gonna become large used mspaint to make himself bigger this attack is ridiculously hard to dodge it's completely random and you just dodged it what so optimally you don't want to die at all here which would be cool if you die this actually strat to die a second time because your second death is faster and that actually saves time so probably snow he's gonna intentionally die here hopefully now he's gonna go hit it there's only two more time why God he's actually going for it ah mad man anyway our soul is going to refuse but it refused puns til the end a Toby thank good all right now we're gonna engage everybody hello Undine so really the only important thing about this is well that we don't die and then also at the same time the third turn so we're gonna recipe on dine or clash yeah so the third action you do in these fights is unskipable text so you want to do the shortest one I'm gonna nerd out for Alfie's and interestingly for toriel and özgür this is the main reason we got the pie earlier it saves like two seconds on a score because we don't have to go through an attack animation but in this fight it saves like three turns yeah from your competitive smash background that the skill set there and maybe the mindset of playing smash translate all the speedrunning or is a really two completely different thing i definitely held like me playing I played I've been playing melee for like four years or so so it gave me the help me get the mindset ready helped me get in the in the groove of like practice regimens and stuff like that sure yeah so I would say it definitely helped me oh and the whole competitive nature it definitely like translates over to speedrunning so I think the two go hand-in-hand it's great to be part of both communities now one thing that's been awesome about watching Odyssey speedrunning is that it's pulled people from all sorts of different communities whether it's been smashed with just other speedrunning communities people have never played a mario game we've got well over a thousand times on that leaderboard and up there right up the now near the top going back and forth right now I saw again microvia I've never heard of you before was this your first speed game so I actually started speed reading it was last last year in March I started with us in 64 picked it up I look cool I thought I'd get into speedrunning something I've been kind of meaning to do for a while and it was around that time when the Odyssey trailers came out and I was like well this game has looks to have the same kind of like solid movement as mom's dives cool stuff looks like you can do a lot with it so I said hey why don't I just hop on the new game I think it'd be good I know it's gonna be competitive if I kind of saw it coming it was a lot of fun it's the whole ride of whole community building up everything at this point I knew I knew would be well worth it to try it out and it's coming this far so I want to talk a little bit about you just brought up Super Mario 64 we got to obviously just see puncayshun and cheese to run the race and so you start yet as well is there any part of you that could see yourself trying to get to that level competitive with the yeah I definitely plan to go back to 64 I don't know how far I would take it because you know there's I have so many things I want to do so many games gonna be good at it's really hard to balance all them and to be at a top level in a game like that it's short it's pretty crazy yeah 10,000 hours or so so let's talk a little bit about the game that you are known for right now that you're getting to run your Super Mario Odyssey I guess I mean all of us could say different things I could say oh I love the movement blah blah blah for you what is this specifically that makes you not just what that you wanted to run the game initially but has kept you in the game for so long now I guess it's just because I am so competitive like again coming from melee that's always how I am I always just liked being the best of things I've always known for like oh just picking something up and just like kind of being good at it so it's just been a lot of fun like I've grown a stream with it people enjoy watching like every day I'm always I'm going for world records I just like I've always loved cool movements so it really just has to do with the game itself just being so open to so many options and it really fun to play Chason antenna for making a game with absolutely incredible movement options all over the place so you love any percent as I can see the great thing about honesty another one of the great aspects is that there are so many other categories that we can move into people have done stuff like world peace dark side darker side all man's hundred percent do you see yourself realistically looking at these other categories you see yourself whine and move back to sm64 what's kind of you think the next thing on the present or is it just you just lost any percent record I know couple days ago due to a new clip that was found oh my god save like 20 seconds or something so I gotta hit the lab on that when I get back for sure but yeah as far as other categories go darker side is something that's piqued my interest a little bit I think the length of it and like the whole idea of like you know you're you're basically getting the five hundred moons to get to the final kingdom so it just feels like the completionist category to go for a little more all moons and hundred percent those can go up to like ten hours or so pretty pretty long it's I like cuz I'm more of like about optimizing little things I like to really get in there and pick up stuff so a longer category like that just I think for me would be a little too much I like keeping it short and fast yeah it's almost a kind of isolates it to where you're really you're not just think about all these moons and all this routing everything it's just the movement from one moon to another watching you in the butt this guy's been working hard all week I feel like mostly what you've done you've come here and you've practiced he's gonna put on a great show for you guys but just you know I felt like I put a decent amount hours in that game and just watching your movement just from one moon to another just so many little things and even mill about so I'm excited to see you get to pull it off all for us today I want to cut cut through a couple of social media questions again guys want to get in those donations gets tomorrow honestly met you want to see a Niekro running it on stage for you guys today then we come up right after Mario maker and Ocarina of Time bingo frog we got one here from Reed rill what is your favorite Kingdom to do in the run favorite Kingdom is probably lost I think a lot think loss is really cool it's just super fast-paced there's lots going on like the moons per minute is every Kingdom a lot of scary things can happen like almost every moon is very risky so like any little wrong thing you know the run can take a turn there's klepto you got to avoid just the I guess the risk to reward really makes that Kingdom exciting and again it's really fast and a lot of cool movements I'd say that's probably one of the most fun to run and definitely a fan favorite absolutely one of my favorites as well we got one here from super sonic 7 108 7 shots of supersonic I'll be doing well what is the most difficult trick in the round what's probably the single trick you're most worried snowed Ram the tricking snow I'll be doing right when I show up to that is it's like this perfect it's almost like near near perfect inputs to get on to this cliff side you're only supposed to get to this moon through a painting like post game from like the mushroom ride so you're not supposed to get there but you can just like barely make it if you actually do the right inputs and it can be really scary if you're going for world record you missed it once it's completely over you're dropping all the way down yeah it's it's pretty far into the run too so it's pretty devastating to me so I'd say it's probably most scary trick to do but I really hope to show it off I've been playing too much OT randomizer I watched you do it for the first time in the back room on earth I didn't know that was part of the route looks terrifying it's unbelievable you can even get access that yeah you should only be like a two player strata actually but yeah the fact that you can just barely make it people figured out how to just make the vectoring just enough the cap throw is the perfect time it's really interesting these you brought out one quick aside from that you just bring up two player two player is actually pretty sick yeah a few players crazy do you see yourself realistically trying to find someone to co-op this oh I have a buddy one of my mods Travis percent show us to him he could make it but we actually started like toying around with you player a little bit I was thinking about going to it some days just you know you don't always have enough time because you know unfortunately for two player it's not enough you got to be in the same room and stuff but it's really interesting and still to this day the the two player world record is actually still faster than one player they're just they're just inactive a lot of the players just kind of took a break or stopped playing so there's not really much going on too right now but it's definitely a really interesting way to play the game and it's actually completely different from a lot of the one player things so I could I would consider going back to it one final question for you and this is me being a dirty twitch chat remember coming in being like one step one how realistic is someone so I get that a lot I mean you can't avoid it I have a command that says sub-1 no no it's just it's like okay so it's theoretically possible the community has been working like extremely hard on we have this best theory time sheet where you can submit even just like one small portion of the game doesn't have to be anything like specific say hey this is faster Kenny time this this looks good and we have from every moon all the times added up and just like maybe a couple weeks ago we just got that time to under an hour like with human strat salt little clips and basically a theory so in theory it is possible for sure but it is just it's so above us right now what we're capable of doing like pulling off a room like that I couldn't tell you when it would happen we I couldn't tell you if we would need more strats I don't know if you know if it would just be a matter of time again but yeah it's it's pretty insane so don't expect us to you saw power anytime soon unless something crazy happen so either a skit or a completely new piece of movement a course and again yeah so it's some hour at the moment is completely out of the question I'd say it's hard to have you here man I definitely look forward to your run guys again make sure to get in all those donations gets tomorrow Odyssey on the board you got two runs left to get
