[Music] bleach is a story that emphasizes the value that can be found in things that are intangible advocating for a formless strength that transcends the material world through the likes of Ichigo uru orime and many others we learned that the most powerful thing in this battle manga lies beyond the realm of hack abilities true power exists not in physical might but in the Unseen this is a story that aims to illustrate the value that can be found in things we cannot see by examining the void and arguing for the heart in that supposed emptiness proposing that existence can persist beyond their inherent forms through this formless heart one can rise above even the confines of death itself as a story predominantly revolving around the Shinigami who are agents of death maintaining balance by guiding Souls between life and death bleach goes to Great Lengths to explore the con concept of death from various angles Ichigo himself as our main character spends a large portion of the story both grappling with his fear of death and coping with his grief over the dead at its core bleach is a study of mortality the finite and human connection as the only means to become infinite the most infamous page in all 74 volumes of bleach is this one a blank canvas featuring the character for koroka in the center which can be best translated to the heart this empty page marks ur's death the embodiment of apathy recognizing what it means to feel that is not to say he never did feel he simply does a terrific job at concealing this fact not just from others but also from himself like many others in the story okora is a character marked by irony he navigates through life with the belief that what cannot be seen does not exist whilst being the most loyal follower of Eisen among the aspada a figure defined by Illusions and duplicity he spends his entire life divined by nothingness only to evolve past this shortsighted perspective when it was far too late when he actually became nothing but as kubar painstakingly argues over the course of this story becoming nothing is not the end of things through the heart people can persist beyond their fixed shapes even without a form they can remain in the hearts of those they leave behind this hollow being who was born in darkness has only ever desired connection a relationship that transcends the transactional give and take he has always known and lies somewhere more personal to fill the void represented by the hole in his chest ura's signature move in combat is to pierce through the center of his victims he does this to Ichigo twice in hopes of teaching him what despair looks like which only further re enforces the many contradictions of this man who supposedly denounces value in that which cannot be seen becoming despair is ur's attempt at mocking the concept of the kokuro the single most important idea in the entire story here kokuro is translated to heart but the term in Japanese is ambiguous and doesn't serve a single definition rather it signifies a concept that encompasses various definitions it refers to what a person thinks feels and would like to express all at once it is the cumulative Collective conscience of an individual their Essence the encapsulation of all the things that make them who they are it cannot be seen But bleach not only argues for its existence but that nothing can possibly be as important kokoro can also be used interchangeably with the terms soul and identity which makes sense and it can also be translated to courage which is particularly pertinent in the case of bleach and the goal of this video what's crucial to understand is that the heart that refers to one's Essence and the Heart heart that refers to a bond between two people are not mutually exclusive they are two pieces of a whole they inform one another and in absolute isolation with only their own thoughts and preconceptions a being is incapable of forming their own heart as this heart must be colored by the hearts of others that's what makes okora so interesting as a being with zero connections to anybody he stands in contravention to the single most important concept of the story the underlying principle that connects every every single living being in the cosmos he rejects his own heart and so the idea of death means nothing to him in a story where death is everything ura's fatal flaw is in how he conflates the material with meaning for something to matter it must be made of matter it must be something he can see for something to be real it must be physical which just makes me think back to one of his earliest scenes where he Gorges out one of his eyeballs and crushes it to share his memory memories of the brief battle against Ichigo turning a memory into a recording he can share with aen inherently contradicts his beliefs as the whole point of memory specifically is that they are something beholden to the one who experienced them eisen's behavior in this scene despite being someone Ura literally gives himself to runs in complete opposition to his materialistic views since aen essentially draws meaning from something he does not actually see in general eisen's character is largely concerned with questioning the truth you can see the bounds of reason and meaning how these things evolve and devolve over time and how everything is ultimately a construct where the strong determine the hard facts of the world this is perfectly demonstrated when he attacked the kotu a being gin described as a creature of reason that cannot be destroyed by spiritual pressure but this is only a truth that gin has been told something he has never had reason to question until eizen broke the fabric of that truth in front of his very eyes and created a new Truth for ukora whose very first experience seems to have been his birth as a vasto lord the only truth he has ever known is that which is reflected upon his eyes before his mask cracked and he awakened as an aranka ukora had no mouth which meant he couldn't speak nor eat the defining quality of a hollow is its insatiable Appetit then need to consume souls to fill the void in their hearts and quench their endless hunger but ukora who embodies the very essence of hollow existence literal nothingness physically cannot satisfy this hunger instead of filling the void in his heart he becomes it and completely rejects the belief that this heart must be filled that left him empty wandering aimlessly with nothing nothing to prove nothing to live for nothing to eat nothing to breathe nothing to say just his eyes and so Ura externalized the nothing he felt inside and became the void itself to cope with the futility of living a life devoid of meaning Ura convinced himself that having nothing meant having nothing to lose which must be happiness this is how he can continue living without companions without connections by cutting off his own emotions and telling himself that they don't matter the fact they don't matter being salvation in of itself and this is all well and good as long as he remains among Hollows like him in hundo where power rules above all where genuine connections are as rare as vasto Lords okora can get by with this flawed world view because he lives in a fundamentally flawed world where might makes right and this transactional Outlook of society actually applies that is until Ichigo and his friends come into the picture and this worldview is put to the test against six hearts that beat as one on the other side of the coin we have cenne Sheba one of bleach's most effective low screen time high impct characters whose role in The aranka Saga is intrinsically tied to ura's conclusion cayen is the antithesis of the Void he is the story's token of connection the first character to vocalize the philosophy of the heart the idea that you must never die alone so that your essence can remain beyond death in the hearts of your loved ones in the same way ukora questions Orihime as to where the heart can be found Cen questions Rukia and in the same way ukora reaches out to orime Cen holds out his hand to Rukia proclaiming that is exactly where the heart can be found ukitake's philosophies are what gave birth to Kay as is repeated three times in the story as early as chapter 22 the first time ukitake believes there are two kinds of battle those to protect lives and those to protect honor this is his own Outlook as captain of squad 13 in the context of the SE which is a city of demigods in a realm of death who serve as agents of death as they maintain balance honor can be a very important thing Shinigami are to believe that they are the ones that keep the world free from chaos and disorder and if they are to truly commit themselves to this cause they should wholeheartedly believe in what they fight for that is jiro's belief however protecting lives and protecting honor don't have to be mutually exclusive as kayen himself makes evidence in how he personally embodies ukitake's teachings as his Lieutenant both of them boil down to the same idea formless intangible things whether it be value views or emotions that for some people are things absolutely worth staking their lives for in the case of Ken Sheba protecting lives and protecting his honor is one and the same which he describes as simply the heart the heart was all kayen knew he was loved by his peers his siblings looked up to him he had a loving wife and he was never alone he wouldn't be the ideal mouthpiece on this philosophy about Connections if he had been and he chose to fight against metastasi for this very heart even at the cost of his life which then led to him entrusting his Essence on tya cen's existence is felt long after his death he serves as the cord that connects death and strawberry as rukia's grief over his death is exactly what the Hoku responded to when she pierced her blade through ichigo's Center the nature of this exchange is living proof the heart exists Rukia did not intend to give him all of her powers but having been consumed by grief and despair the hog yuku in the place of her soul acted in herstead byakuya had kept her at a distance for decades she was separated from her childhood best friend and the only real heart she had was shared with a dead man and as the sword of Fate fell Rukia relinquished her powers to the cousin of her deceased role model who took these powers to manifest his own sord of Fate with this blade he would save Rukia in kenstead without ever learning of his existence fulfilling what the late assistant captain would do if he were living by fighting for the very idea of the heart it is the ferocity Ichigo shared with cenne that not only broke byakuya's blade but uncovered Eisen scheme forcing him to expose himself when that very well may not have been his original intention by Illuminating eisen's manipulation Ichigo in a roundabout way also exposes byakuya's internal crisis the conflict between the heart he shared with hisana and the heart he shared with his parents by exposing the real enemy of Soul Society Ichigo allows byakuya to fight for both at once which liberates him just as rukia's will to live was reinvigorated through these Hearts formed the aranka Saga puts her Newfound resolve to the test manifesting the object of her Horrors into an enemy that haunts her Rukia never truly overcame her grief and in front of her stands a Monster who has taken hold of cen's spiritual body and uses that same form to make requests that ridicule everything Cayenne stood for just as she stabbed through cen's Center on that fateful Rainy Night a parasite that has taken hold of his body Returns the favor and that's exactly when it happens this is one of the clearest examples of kubar distinguishing between the body and the Heart the form and the formless although Ken's literal spiritual body made of RI has been possessed he died long ago even if his own zakor remains he will never take that form that Rukia knew and yet it's the things that cannot take tangible form that allow Ken's body to finally be put to rest and his heart to persist even Beyond Death Recollections memories in the distance a conversation between two people one living one dead arono may have his body but he does not have his heart as cen's heart resides within Rukia at the very end of the story the captain cloak Rukia wears when accepting her promotion is one that was made dead decades prior for cayen himself that is how existence can persist beyond their inherent forms Through the Heart cenne Rose above death itself the last chapters is where these ideas of physicality and spirituality synthesize in the climactic showdown between Hollow and human the center of the chest is the location of one's spiritual center in Bleach it's where the coko would theoretically be if it was something tangible and so to push orim to the brink of Despair and break her belief in Ichigo Beyond repair ukora kills Ichigo with his signature move for the second time to hammer home the futility of the heart ukora pierces his chest and leaves him on the ground to die but for reasons incomprehensible to the aspada orime still tries to save Ichigo and when she realizes she does not have the power to do so she begs his corpse for help and the corpse responds ichigo's heart takes physical form and shatters every one of UK's beliefs white who resides within both masaki and ishin influence his desire to protect his loved ones all of these aspects of ichigo's essence manifests in physical form as an instinctual Beast with a single objective to protect to live up to his name and the promise he made the Zak as a construct serves as a coalesence of the spiritual and the physical they take the form of a blade an anthropomorphic being and an extension of the wielder Soul all at once you can view zakor and the relationship between Shinigami and their blades as a metaphor for the hearts a heart forged between two people is recognized as a bond this happens when people get close and imbue their Essence onto the other like Shinigami do with the asachi and hearts or bonds can of course be broken mended and reforged just like zampo a broken shikai can repair with time but a broken Bankai can never return to what it once was it must must be reforged into something new like a bond that gains an entirely new form once it has been rekindled after a significant falling out it's never quite the same even from a mechanical perspective these Assi are living things that are formed by The Souls of deceased Shinigami it's literally a synthesis of life and death form and formlessness breaking these conceived barriers much like Ichigo himself who is a product of a Quincy saving a Shinigami and a hollow choosing to merge with a Quincy these in explicable anomalies that defy natural law that is why the Ichigo that stands before ukora is a product of things Beyond his comprehension it's not something he can understand it's literally ichigo's Soul taking form his heart persisting beyond death this is a leap in logic so absurd to okora if he were reading these chapters he would drop bleach and call this the worst ull of all time like I assume many people did in 2009 this thing standing in front of him completely shatters all of his precon inceptions it's real it means something it's reflected upon his eyes even though Ichigo can't be alive as previously stated ukora actively tries to be completely devoid of any emotion but he feels nonetheless his disgust in no's words how Ichigo angers him how orim's unwavering belief in the love of her friends is absolutely Beyond him ukora is a Wandering nothing observing a meaningless world so things like willpower Grit and love are inconceivable to him all he knows is what he can see with his eyes that is the mindset he adopts to cope with the emptiness and once eizen appeared he was faced with somebody so terrifyingly powerful serving them wasn't even something to be questioned it's just natural law power rules all in that sense ukora is the ultimate Hollow he embodies nothingness the Crux of hollow existence they are entirely physical beings whose Souls burst into the forms they inhab habit and leave a void in the place of their hearts they are the direct opposite of humans on the equilibrium of souls precisely because of this stark contrast holes versus Hollows so naturally it's the character who's most emblematic of humanity that shakes ura's world the extent to which Orihime feels for her friends for strangers for her enemies defies the perspective Ur is enslaved by this both interests and irritates him as eisen's Army do not pull any punches in the psychological torture they Place her under yet she never wavers she never falters what's most ironic is that orim may completely attributes this lack of fear to the heart she shares with her friends the emotional connection formed with her companions that okora clearly yearned for at Birth Orihime recognizes that the heart shared with her friends made her commit to this suicide mission and that same heart was always going to cause her friends to stake their own lives in trying to rescue her the hearts orime shares with each Ichigo is a particularly intimate one precisely because of their shared experiences the deaths that destroyed their childhood years volume 3's poem is one of the only instances in the story where rain is framed under a more positive light as a symbol of sadness and despair rain generally has very negative connotations but on this day the rain brought Ichigo and orihime's hearts together both of these tortured souls are forced to confront the bodies of their deceased parental figures Ichigo his mother and Orihime her older brother they share their pain the rain connects them like it does the eternally separated sky and Earth perspective is the very Crux of humanity the idea that every single heart is unique is incredibly important so it's especially fitting that Kubo uses orime to paint the rain in a more positive light and he does so once more in joining the hearts of ichigo's parents both of these tortured Souls chose to continue living specifically to honor the memory of those who left their heart Hearts behind to ensure they are never forgotten and that their impact remains on the world forever more perpetually passed on from one person to the next nothing captures that inherent Humanity in this story quiet as beautifully as orihime's second poem at first glance this looks like a load of jargon and of course so much of its intrinsic poetic value is completely lost in translation but I believe the heart of this poem is relatively simple the only thing you need to consider is that it's a number pun with many homonyms starting with one or Ichi and progressively climbing to five or go we have not one in common and no two things can be alike this is simply arguing that everybody is inherently unique in perspective in form in heart the third eye is an obvious nod to the Buddhist concept of Enlightenment and mystical Insight something all humans lack as they are ultimately Bound by their inherent perspectives the fourth Direction represents death the loss of Hope as the number four is a homonym in Japanese need for that which lies at the end of the road for all of us death is behind us all collectively following every living being it is what makes existence a collective to begin with the one thing every single soul shares in and the fifth is yet another homonym as much like the go in ichigo's name it can both represent the number five and the kanji for protection the fifth is at the heart which exists beyond death and must be protected ur's second poem goes on to confirm this as the fourth espart the story's personification of death personally attributes the seven deadly sins to his heart ultimately proving that the heart can exist Beyond Death lust is the sin most heavily emphasized in this poem as lust is synonymous with desire for the one who embodies nothing to desire anything is diametrical to everything Ur has convinced himself he believes it's not that he desires something specific rather I believe ukora desires the very concept of desire he lusts for anything while having Lust For Nothing every chapter of this volume is titled to correspond with the seven deadly sins in the same order as the poem and in the Envy Ichigo notes that ura's movements had become more predictable before he was like a stone statue impossible to read but now he can see his moves and so he asks am I able to predict those things because I'm closer to a hollow or have you become more human this expression at the end of the chapter answers ichigo's question better than any word ever could these two beings quite literally switch places when the heart he shares with orime gives life to his lifeless body Ichigo officially completely destroys ukora physically and figuratively in a Twisted way this merciless Slaughter is ura's salvation as it means more than his life ever has the fact that this human became just like him gaping hole in the center of his chest highp speed regeneration using sonido firing SOS it all broke broke the bounds of Truth as he always perceived it he is freed from the boundaries of rationality that limited his scope and recognizes there is value Beyond such things beyond what he can see this is of course a dramatic low point in ichigo's personal Journey a moment that almost betrays everything he stands for and as such the sheer heart on display when he regains his body is further intensified Ichigo seeks a blade that can shatter fate itself he seeks agency to exert his freedom in a blade of pure unrelenting will not this blade not a blade that lacks any semblance of choice until the very end Ichigo refused to do what ukora wanted him to and ultimately ukora does succeed in Breaking ichigo's resolve he's not the same for the rest of the aranka Saga but not in any way that validated ukora rather it only further reinforced his misconceptions Ichigo who was vastly outmatched is not just ungrateful but heartbroken by his victory ictory that is the heart in full display and so as he Fades into the empty backgrounds of the pages and truly becomes nothing okora leaves behind one thing the heart taking form as the only thing present on a page bleached of any other detail while ura's surname is an obvious nod to the devil Yaba is a trinitarian deity the father of the Quincy the son of the Soul king and the Holy Spirit whose soul resides in all of his children while ura's eyes reflect nothing yaba's eyes reflect everything the almighty allows him to not only observe all possible Futures like grains of sand but actively change them while okora manages to keep living by convincing himself that nothing matters Yaba clings to life because everything matters and everything is his to take both of these beings were born in darkness with a complete lack of Senses ukora crawled his way out of the void and took the lives of those who shunned him those Hollows were pure black dark grotesque monsters eating something and ukora had a distinct white form destined for isolation without a mouth to eat let alone communicate with Yaba on the other hand was the one who was pure black and had no means of survival and yet the people around him woried him all the same that's the primary distinction between the two uro was seemingly powerful while Yaba was a defenseless mortal but in clear Define of the rational the hollow was incapable of forming a heart while the Quincy formed many before ever gaining any agency by the time his unhearing ears began to hear Yaba discovered the people around were calling him by the name of the god they worshiped he decided to take that name for himself although uaba is cut from an entirely different cloth to ukora one thing is for certain they are both products of their environments and that is perhaps true for every single character in this story that being said Yaba is not like any other character this is one of the few Transcendent beings in the world of bleach those who exist in a class of their own he is the king of the Quincy almost every single Quincy is inextricably entangled with Yaba as his child they share a heart whether they'd like to or not Yaba exists in them all in their blood and in their souls to many Quincy Yaba is their savior to some he is a myth that has only ever existed as he however even before he became the king of the vanand and commanded armies he was changing lives for the better he wasn't just curing wounds and replacing lost limbs he was filling the hearts of the timid with courage how ironic that the ultimate ideal presented at the end of the story is something the final villain embellished in the hearts of many of his followers what made me recognize some of the parallels between Yaba and Ur is that visual presentation they are both Dark Yet mystical figures their form Blends the Ethereal with the Demonic the inherent idea of dichotomy and contrast is an essential aspect of bleach's identity this is a story about life and death light and darkness black and white and most importantly form and formlessness the Very name of the story came about because kubal wanted to evoke the idea of something being bleached into white with him having considered naming the mang both black and white before arriving at Bleach Ichigo literally contains black and white in the depths of his soul as extensions of himself and the idea of bleaching something is synonymous with cleansing it or exposing its Essence which is also why Kubo opts for a minimalistic approach with his presentation rarely ever drawing backgrounds and placing significant focus on character design paneling and symbolism and it's this exact sense of visual presentation that's so crucial to understanding or and Yaba it is intrinsically tied into their identities and what they both use to try to overwhelmingly Force Ichigo to submit in the face of their despair in the realm of manga black is form applying this idea to the two who personify despair is incredibly enlightening whether it's rejecting meaning or destroying balance the goal of these two men is ultimately the same to rob the world of the very idea of dichotomy ur's materialistic approach to living and navigating the World describes meaning only to form that which can be reflected upon his eyes that is why he rejected the heart because it's invisible and intangible but yaba's eyes allow him to literally see the formless the almighty gives him sight over people's very Hearts think of what someone's decisions mean in the context of the heart in a world inherently shaped by people's choices Yaba is not fate itself rather he assumes the role of Fate within ichigo's life and the World At Large but but the future does not lie on a single path it is like grains of sand going from one grain of sand to the next is a choice and everyone can determine their own future through the choices they make their agency is inherently tied to their hearts their Essence and uaba has the power to not only observe the choices people will make but actively alter these choices by implanting the future onto the present his eyes are so powerful that he can directly manipulate and understand abstract Concepts represented in the letters he sees on the Souls of the stern R and how he is capable of overwhelming ichimonji through sheer hacks in fact the entire battle between Yaba and Ichi explores these ideas of form from a very meta angle giving Ichi Providence over black and white the visual identity of any manga that being said by literally observing that which should be formless it becomes something defined and that is where the issue lies it all ties back to the very nature of form and definition the fact that the the heart is something invisible and symbolic is exactly why it's worth fighting for because Yaba can observe people's choices the hearts became meaningless to him by turning it into something tangible that Yaba can manipulate the almighty destroys the concept of the heart that is the closest thing to despair in the world of bleach as the one who can picture everything Yaba becomes the painter of everyone's Fates he uses the future to determine their present literally Rob ing his enemy's capacities to move forward when thinking about the lust chapters and the final battle side by side there are several connections that can be made the former begins on the ground and rises above the sky while the latter begins above the sky and then descends to the ground in both cases the final location is tied to a construct of eisen's making above the false Sky of Las noes and within the false Soul Society of eisen's illusions at least for everybody besides Ichigo who was not under the effects of of kyokasuigetsu uryu and orime serve Central roles in both battles although orim's role as a support is something Ichigo actively encourages and depends on against uaba while it was something he rejected against ukora but while ukora tried absolutely everything in his power to break Ichigo he was incapable of truly showing him despair uaba on the other hand was more than capable even if his victory was shortlived they both aimed to destroy ichigo's heart heart ukora piercing the center of his chest while uaba broke his Bankai the ultimate power that synthesizes the physical and the spiritual while ukora broke ichigo's horn to Mark the end of the battle uaba took it for himself to use as a weapon he Towers above his son born in the dark and absorbs all of his power leaving him hopeless as everything turns to white meaning it loses its form but as I made clear at the start of the video becoming nothing is not the end of things things in the same way ginjo stealing ichigo's Powers was not something permanent Yaba only took the top layer of ichigo's powers to understand this mechanically think of it as the inverse of Rukia stabbing Ichigo in chapter 1 instead of pumping ryoku into his soul Yaba depletes ichigo's soul of all ryoku but the essence of his powers remain they can never be stolen and the one to drag Ichigo out of Despair is the one who once plunged him into its greatest depths just as Rukia once reminded Ichigo that despair is not enough to stop him by stabbing him from behind tsukishima does the same the heart formed between Ichigo and Gino is perhaps the dynamic most representative of all the ideas I've discussed as a connection formed between two men who came to a deep intimate understanding of one another whilst barely knowing each other it's their shared experiences as substitute Shinigami that allowed for Mutual understanding even when cutting him down and killing a human for the first time ichigo's eyes spoke only of a desire for understanding to stand shoulder to- shoulder with ginar in the same place and that heart formed between two enemies is one of the many that coales in this final battle Ren's arrival signifies another but for the sake of brevity I want to end this section of the video by zeroing in on the single most important demonstration of the heart in the battle against Yaba the one formed between himself and Ichigo when uryu fires the Silver Arrow which is a physical representation of all the ideas in this video literally formed from the silver left behind in the physical hearts of the ashalon victims yaba's powers are momentarily halted and then it happens ichigo's blade covered in cracks and blemishes dissipates as it comes into contact with yaba's overwhelming riyu but beneath the outer shell of the blade lies the false shikai that old man zangetsu constructed for Ichigo the only blade he can be defeated by as per his own words the same blade Yaba envisioned cutting him down in the dream yugar passed on to him the representation of ichigo's Quincy powers that stem from a piece of Yaba within Ichigo literally turns against itself and lays the final killing blow on uaba a piece of that man within ichigo's soul is ultimately the key to his demise a piece of uaba who had spent so much time seeing the world through ichigo's eyes he could not help but yield to his contagious beliefs in his final moments yaba's hubris is all that is reflected on his allseeing eyes in the end his failure to look within himself is his Achilles heel the heart formed between Ichigo and the piece of Yaba within him that has now become a part of him illustrates another path for Yaba a future he could not see there is so much more I could say on this topic but hopefully I've communicated the main things I wanted to to convey with this video the depth of this subject warrants several videos and in my attempt to deliver a comprehensive overview I definitely bit off more than I could chew I would not call this a comprehensive overview on the heart in Bleach it's specifically focused on ukora and uaba but that being said you can definitely expect future videos to delve deeper into the concepts touched upon today before you go though I'd like to leave you with something to reflect on there's this bonus chapter during Soul Society Focus from the relationship between mizuiro and Keo Ichigo school friends it's relatively short and I honestly forgot it existed until a few weeks ago when I was rereading that portion of the manga this is chapter 107.5 a wonderful ERA this chapter in the context of the heart the value of human connection and bleach's overarching ideas of unity is incredibly powerful mizuo sometimes thinks we're all connected to This World by countless chords like patients in the ICU we try hard not to let any of the chords get get severed but the truth is no matter how hard you try they get cut and it's very hard to reconnect them the way they are this metaphor Echoes the one given fenji and rukia's relationship as something much easier to tear down than to build and much more difficult to tie than to untie that is the heart described better than I ever could and yaba's Utopia threatens to obliterate that very heart it would invalidate the memories of the Dead by merging life and death into a single form and a raising any semblance of formlessness that is what our protagonists fight for in the Thousand-Year blood War Ichigo fights for the heart he shares with his mother masaki Rukia fights for the hearts shared with cayen uru fights for the heart shared with Soren ryuken fights for the heart shared with katagiri they each fight to validate the hearts of their loved ones in defiance of the world Yaba and Visions just as a world without fear is a world without hope a world without death is a world without the heart it is the innate fear of death that all living beings share after all that is the ultimate heart binding all of existence together and thus courage is simply the will to live in complete acknowledgment that death is inevitable if the heart is someone's Essence it's essentially what we as readers would call someone's character and the Heart formed between two people their relationship is what we would call a character Dynamic that is to say these two characters all Y and Yaba through parallels callbacks and shared ideas in the same story in the same universe managed to form a Hearts despite never having lived at the same time
