TTM/Spartan Level III+ Armaply vs. M193 20" barrel armor test

hi I'm Andrew with the chopping block this here is a TTM spartan arm apply level 3 + plate brand-new product there's not a whole lot of testing out there for it level 3 + is not actually technically an NIJ rating it could be tissue paper for all anyone cares it doesn't have to pass NIJ ratings or an NIJ certified lab or anything to be called level 3 + because that's not actually a thing that said most people expect that level 3 + should in some ways exceed level 3 now TTM spartan says that this will hold up to n 193 or m855 5.56 millimeter at 3,000 feet per second that's according to their website a lot of people would say that a level 3 + plate should be able to at least hold up to m193 from a 16 inch barrel at close range at a bare minimum some people would say that it should hold up to M 193 out of a 20 inch barrel because that's sort of a worst case but still plausible scenario so what we're going to do is we're going to test this plate with m193 when fire from a 20 NJ ar-15 let's see what happens all right knocked off this coating but nothing came through the back a little bit of dent on the backside here that's wearing hat that's it that's pretty legit so I want to remind you that that significantly exceeds the rating for this plate the plate according to their standards is rated for 3,000 feet per second for m193 that was well over 3,300 feet per second that put a pretty good divot in there blew off some of the fragmentation coating but it didn't damage our sensor jug here this crack was from an earlier test didn't put any fragments into the jug or anything put a little bit of a dent on the back side of it I'd say that's pretty decent for 370 feet per second over the the rating thank you to TTM spartan for providing the armor for the test I appreciate your support
