[Music] oh [Music] all right good morning after the last frozen dumpling video i did a lot of you guys messaged me and told me to try the dumplings at trader joe's now i really didn't know trader joe's had dumplings but let's go check it out oh it's like my worst nightmare i love pizza of a broccoli pizza and his cousin cauliflower no thanks they do have a lot of different types of pizza like really unique ones too i'll try a cheese and tomato pizza uh here we go oh wow they do have a lot of whoa trader joe's good for you buddy all the different types of dumplings you have we got thai vegetable oh we gotta come back and try some of their chinese food too honey water shrimp vegetable bird's nest what philly cheesesteak bao that looks pretty amazing chicken shall mai okay what there's a trader joe's soup dumpling all right we gotta try these multiple flavors trader joe's dumpling nice pork and ginger and chicken soup trader joe wonton soup all right gotta have this this was buried in the back what is this pasta ball holy okay oh this is trigger means trader joe's asian cousin how many different types of dumplings do you have wow chicken cilantro mini wontons oh there's two so it's thai shrimp and thai vegetable chicken and vegetable pork and vegetable spicy salmon i can't believe this is all just dumplings from trader joe's yeah we'll get a samosa too yeah that's a dumpling this is chris he recognized me with my mask on how did you do that i just meet my girlfriend and watch your videos i appreciate that man so so what's your favorite dumpling here i like the pot stickers yeah i definitely got those the chicken and then the bowel bugs those are the bowels all right well i got every one of them so i'll let you know how it goes thanks man smash this wars that's a dumpling right i'll be honest i'm really excited about this so many soup dumplings you could cook the soup dumpling in the microwave wouldn't really recommend that but that's here you can trying to find out where exactly this is made it doesn't say where this is actually i mean it says where it's distributed and it's inspected so this probably is not made in the u.s i would assume yeah none of this says where it's actually made from i'll start off with the soup down planks so one is pork and ginger the other is chicken soup that sounds comforting so this is the chicken soup this is the pork and ginger obviously wow for some reason the chicken soup dumpling seems to be darker than the pork soup dumpling i would've thought it was the other way around so apparently you can cook this in the microwave or the stovetop i'm gonna do both just so we can see the difference between the microwave version and the stovetop version this is the chicken soup dumpling tiny little ones i'm just going to steam three chicken and three pork and then we'll do a couple in the microwave [Music] and wow that's steaming let's make our sauce a little soy sauce a little more vinegar sesame oil and just a hint all right don't overdo it of hot oil okay just just a hint all right don't want it to be too spicy like that ah the soup leaked it got so flat as soon as i opened the top it just dropped flat but it doesn't look all that different than soup dumplings you'll sometimes see in restaurants they would actually look like this i mean it still looks pretty good [Music] let's see how much soup is in here okay so not too much soup but i did notice that a lot of it leaked during steaming where's the pork and ginger i gotta tell you that is a surprisingly delicious little soup dumpling i mean i've only tried one other brand of frozen soup dumplings so far this is the best one though that's really good holy crap trader joe's this one flat out just looks like a fireman's helmet i'm really not expecting a lot of juice in this one all right that's the pork one too that's how you the pork one you taste the pork very delicious perfectly seasoned and then distinctively the flavor of ginger will fill your mouth that's better than some soup dumplings i had in restaurants this is the chicken one looks like a ufd unidentified flying dumpling that one had a ton of soup in there you do get a healthy dose of flavor from the chicken soup had a good amount of juice and it's good i am really surprised at the quality of these soup dumplings from trader joe's after three chicken soup dumplings my soul feels a little better highly recommend the frozen soup dumplings from trader joe's like honestly if i didn't know if i'd never been to trader joe's before you told me these were trader joe's soup dumplings i would think that joe would be spelled z-h-o-u and it was a chinese trader guy let's try these in the microwave oh by the way all the soup that leaked in here that's concentrated but don't waste that whoa i just wanted to cook two because i didn't want to eat them all but they got fried what's it said to cook for two minutes oh my god i toasted these soup dumplings completely this one looks like a hospital bedpan what have i done i evaporated this soup and fried a soup dumpling but i guess it will uh work better now when i try to fill it with some dipping sauce oh fresh not good where did i go wrong it says microwave high minute 45 to 2 minutes so i only cooked two dumplings but it was only in there for like a minute and a half oh man that's that's not edible all right there's the second one it looks a little more intact if the insides were good but the skin not so much i don't really think that's straight or drools ball i think i cut the bags open too much it needed to be steamed so he only cut the bag a little bit but i destroyed the bags when i took it out to get a steam so i think microwaving would be all right because it's the same concept but they're both steaming it but i think steaming is still gonna be better because you're gonna have the steam it's gonna be more moisture so the dumplings are gonna come out juicier and i think softer so if you have the option to do it i would definitely recommend steaming it but these are amazing best frozen soup dumpling i've ever had not saying much because i haven't had many but these are like 100 if you cannot get to a shallow ball a soup dumpling restaurant get these because they will definitely satisfy your cravings but yeah i do feel really bad for wasting those two soup dumplings oh well you dim sum you lose some am i right all right these are interesting this is what like dumplings made in the streets of philadelphia philly cheesesteak bao merry in ancient bao bun this works out that will literally combine two of my favorite things in the world all right i mean first glance it doesn't really look like philly cheesesteak inside i think this is more of a hit or miss i mean you definitely get the cheese and a little bit of the spice and the butter itself is really good i don't think the first thing i would think of when i take a bite of this would be philly cheesesteak and honestly you don't really taste the steak element that much you taste a lot of the cheese almost like a spicy cheesy bun don't taste a lot of the meat i think if they added more beef in here then i think it'd be way more cheesecakey but oh renault is more like a cheese bun not a cheese steak bun with that said it is good she's a hundred percent belongs in buns and dumplings i mean if you've never had cheese in your bun you're missing out but she's you know you know what i mean i believe i can fly that was a miraculous bun rescue that was rolling off the counter onto the floor i would have ate it regardless but that was like the cliffhanger version of eating steamed buns i think what happens is when food or where something dear to me is about to fall into danger i turn into superman like my reflexes are heightened let's try these pork gilza spicy salmon and chicken and vegetable so these we pan fry actually to make it more efficient i'm just going to go ahead and chem fry all the gilza so this is the thai shrimp one high vegetable chicken cilantro they're good size babies the chicken mini wontons are pretty adorable looks good that was the salmon gills up oh that is good just taking a bite no hot oil not only can you see all the little chunks of veggies in here some carrots some cabbage you can definitely taste the crunch there's the distinct crunch from the water chestnuts and you can 100 taste that fish swimming around in there i've never had a salmon gyoza before or salmon dumpling before that's awesome let me give this a solid eight out of ten these are the chicken cilantro wontons mmm well those are good too with little vermicelli noodles in here and that great aroma from the cilantro it's definitely not something you like if you're one of those who thinks cilantro tastes like dish soap oh there i go also do you think you guys can guess how much this weighs just by looking at it because i can it weighs one ton [Music] keep eating sorry this is the shrimp dumpling thai shrimp gills up not a huge fan of this just kind of slimy i mean you can definitely change the little chunks of shrimp in here the quality is great it's just way too slimy yeah i think it tastes like i just bit into the ghost of dumpling past dumpling ectoplasm going to do a hard pass on that one i taste chives i think this might be the thai veggie dumpling yeah you see that it just tastes really gooey like my first bite i thought i was biting into like a mashed potato dumpling or something no go on these thai ones this i think is the chicken chicken one's good i feel like these type of dumplings these were the ones that chris was recommending at the store too these are definitely much much better than the other ones i got and one simple reason is because the ingredients are really quality also it's flavor so nicely this is the pork and cabbage and i usually would like pork dumplings the most because i feel like they're the juiciest they have a lot of fat so the flavor profile is better but honestly for me i'm all in on these salmon goes up you can't go wrong with any of these brands i mean they might not be as like colorful and splashy as these like thai dumplings but these are what you should be getting at trader joe's we have the shomai and then we have the wonton soup and then the samosas all right let's do the show mai first so they're saying to steam this where you can cook in the microwave you know what let's cook this whole thing in a microwave and see how it turns out that's a lot oh let me give you a sauce pack actually you know what we're just going to steam it even the microwave dressing is kind of complicated this thing really has no texture i mean the flavor is okay really no texture just all the way soft like a good show mine like the meat will have a different texture inside i mean when it comes to flavor it's not bad the pork is a little fatty which i like but texture wise no nothing i mean what am i chewing am i chewing the dough am i chewing the meat am i trying what's on top i say six and a half for flavor three for texture give it like a five out of ten chicken and vegetable wonton soup so it's microwave a small opening uh add water fill to line microwave four and a half to five minutes so i am supposed to open it a little bit and be able to pull water in so we'll fill the water up to that little line while we're waiting smashing s'mores with graham cracker oh my god at one bite i feel like i just drink 10 kinds of coke [Music] i feel like i need to schedule an appointment to see a dentist it's a s'more what do i expect but wow definitely way sweeter than i thought all right you're supposed to microwave this for about four or six seconds okay we'll do this at the end smells like a decent bowl of wonton soup even the vegetables look fresh huh so these are chicken wontons try the soup first wow that soup oh my god that is some tasteless soup this thing tastes like the first hulk movie absolutely no excitement see if the dumpling is much better the good thing is i was able to tell when the wrapper ended the meat begin i do like the texture i think the vegetable in this name is very very good little cilantro peas carrots and they're crunchy as you can hear but the flavor it's just lacking so much i'm gonna change that vinegar hot oil just a little bit okay don't overdo it sesame oil mix that up see if you add just a tiny bit of hot oil that changes everything let's try the soup yeah that's better the heat is definitely there flavor wise you need a little bit of salt much much better oh night and day this is actually edible now i mean the inside of the wonton is still a tad hulkish but the soup and everything around it i think it's jumping with flavor so yeah i think in general like this is not the best thing but if you want to do what i did add a little chinese vinegar sesame oil some bouillon and a tad of hot oil you could transform the soup or what you can do is replace these wontons with the one we had before those were much better oh our oven is ready i'm gonna add our samosas oh that is toasty chicken tikka hmm like this that is really nice really does taste like a chicken tikka mmm no that's good crispy flaky really amazing curry flavor nice texture from the chicken i would highly recommend this this is six seconds of microwave for my uh from my s'more [Music] you know what that's still really sweet but it's so much better without just a bit of meltiness from the marshmallow and chocolate if you go camping just take one of these put it between like two graham crackers ah so sad haven't gone camping since the college days that's what we used to do all the time back in kirksville misery every single weekend go to the lake buy some really cheap hot dogs i was so poor we would go and buy these hot dogs that the day before they expire so they'd be on sale for like 10 cents a pack buy those buy some buns just have a great time by the lake all that was reminded from a bite of s'mores well i gotta say best thing i had today definitely the soup dumpling 100 gold bite the trader joe soup dumplings absolutely amazing and also those three particular trader joe dumpling bags the salmon the chicken and the pork that brand so good definitely recommend the salmon above all else but in general trader joe's dumplings besides that the two thai dumplings that were just mushy and it tasted how jabba the hut looks everything else was splendid oh the wonton noodle soup that wasn't that great but the soup after some processing if you add a bunch of actually you know what this just don't get that just don't get too much work but we found some good stuff today i'm so surprised you guys heard me say this a lot about either frozen foods or instant foods that if somebody served it to me in a restaurant i like i wouldn't know as long as my expectations weren't like sky high i just wouldn't know like i definitely think i could go back to one of those cities i used to live in where the chinese food wasn't that great well that would just be every single city anyway i just go to one of those towns where the competition isn't that high there's not a lot of authentic chinese food let's open a restaurant i just sell this stuff i just saw like like trader joe's sting dumplings and japanese instant noodles you know what actually i used to go to these bodegas by where i used to work in new york city and manhattan and and one time i went into one it said had like a korean udon or something like that so i went in there and i'm like oh i got a korean wood they literally in front of my face opened a pack of instant noodles put hot water in there and threw broccoli in there and charged me ten dollars i kid you not a place in new york city literally sold me instantly like i would at least you know put it into a nicer packaging which may give me the impression that it wasn't instant noodles but they didn't even try to hide it but anyway big thumbs up to trader joe's frozen dumplings and i definitely want to do another video where i go back and try some of the other frozen food i saw a lot of frozen chinese food in there
