Trash Picking After The Holiday! What Did We Find?! Ep. 439

all right everyone welcome back another day a windy day trash picking trash picking day i don't think there's anything here that's oh what's that there's a lampshade back there but yeah it's trash picking day so let's make another fun episode uh not very certain with today the holiday this is actually the first day trash picking after a holiday so um usually for the next couple days the whole schedule gets a little messed up with that instead with that said i think uh the college here had their uh their graduation yesterday so maybe it's move out day for uh the seniors all right this person always has random stuff out i don't know if that's cast iron sink kind of looks like it doesn't it i could be that guy and completely smash this thing up if it ain't oh look at that sticks right to it holy moly that's definitely not cast iron definitely that is see how the old back feels today this person threw away that awesome crayola box i found last fall my goodness tell you what it's got some really neat handles on it look at these this guy is doing something [Applause] pretty sure this guy throw this wind it's amazing how windy it is once it's a little bit chillier out so today it's like a high of 68 maybe it feels nice i'm in a t-shirt this has been out here since yesterday because you can see it's still soaking wet so i guess no scrap guys roll through today no idea what just fell probably came off this sink [Music] two motors this guy i don't know if i uh just ended up like missing this every week but i haven't picked something up here in probably three months so kind of cool i know right now we're grabbing a lot of metal um we'll see what happens today looks like pieces to a computer tower maybe this is a really neat piece so yeah i'm not gonna like completely scrap this obviously you know i'm way do some work on it maybe this would even sell this uh i don't know if it's really called a spigot or a faucet there you go let's pick it that's not a garden hose is this it yeah i think that's it having a lot of deja vu today pretty sure too pretty sure two years ago i picked up a bunch of stuff that was right there and the guy who owned the house was that guy and he just bought it a week before he put out all the stuff now that house is for sale this thing looks heavy looks like a wine cooler that's a beaut do you think she still works oh why that park so far away not that heavy it's not that light but it's not that heavy all right so i'm over here into college down off campus housing area all the students out here no idea trash pile over there yeah so i think today is there i wouldn't say their move out there i bet they move out like sometime this week because there's still a lot of cars here but it's also a lot of garbage holy door so we'll go down this way first now in the middle of the road deja vu i mean it's crazy to me but yeah so i trash picked this town for four years now every year i don't think last year there was ever a move out because of everything going on but i've done this now this would be the third year so three out of four years of doing youtube i've trash picked this day the college move out day this year doesn't look like there's a whole lot going on uh but kind of crazy to like look at all these people and the first year i came out here they were freshmen if my math is correct maybe they were just coming into college and now they're moving out while this whole time i've been trash picking whatever was in their college house for the last four years from other students going to take it right up here not a whole lot going on but you'll see people really are moving out crazy weird season to be fine these this is more like you're cleaning out your garage you're like oh you know i don't want to save those for another six months because i take up a lot of real estate which is very true about these and that's one thing about the blow molds the whole uh big plastic snowmen and santas it shocks me how they're still so collectible considering how much space they take up if you only put them out there for one month then they get brittle then they crack it's a crazy thing to me but they are pretty cool this piqued my interest holy moly those things are ginormous this is a really cool chair it's kind of a shame it's by itself yep see this i this whole week's going to be screwed up i'm telling you the next three or four days are just going to be really at least next three or four trash picking uh episodes are going to be like hit or miss or you know 10 minutes long or 20 minutes they're just going to be all over the board like this has lots of water in it so it means that it was out here yesterday they're almost the length of my man which means not one scrapper drove by which is just crazy to me because yesterday was the original yesterday was the original trash pickup day so you would think that at least one person big oh i forgot that everything got pushed back a day well you know what it's got a name on the back okay so the planter or some sort's not box i almost didn't pick this up and the reason why is because it wasn't close enough to the road but it's such a mosh pit of things that no one will just put this outside for decoration like you're not playing shop lights in a random chair and a random planter that's empty and used as decoration in your yard five feet from the road but i really thought we'd miss one day of this but that is not the case uh we'll just throw this right on top and hope for the best i'm going to go out on and say all these other boxes are probably scrap metal of some sort cow cow calipers for a second those guys say califers have the pb with their calibers now like that's for your brakes right that's what sucks it's amazing the weather too like two weeks ago it was something like 90 something degrees it's actually a funny story so i got a new boiler put in in my wait house the wind stops now it's in my back so probably don't hear too much but i got a new um new boiler put in which is like a furnace and so i got new thermostats well since it's a boiler and not like a central air unit my new thermostats show what the temperature is in the house but i can't turn on the ac because i don't have central air so i have to use like an actual air conditioner ready to plug into like a window and uh it says that the heat's on even though it isn't but my house last week or two weeks ago was 82 degrees in my bedroom and you're just looking at the thermostat and says 82 and you can't change it like it's whatever it's going to be in the room with the air conditioner and the air conditioner really wasn't cool enough though it got down to about like 78 but it was just it was a weird weird concept to look at and be like well it says it's 78 degrees in here and i can't get any colder i have no idea where i was going with that story i told every guy's in the middle of a road how much is this pinball machine it's broken that works that don't and there's no balls for it nope homeowner literally is leaving right now damn see that over there playing his pinball machine and ah property sold interesting i mean it was if that thing worked i would have grabbed it even though it's new i think it would be fun to play but it's half broken missing the balls all right so made it back home we'll uh we'll see what's got a bunch of stuff here see what's in the recap here uh so we got those calipers i don't even know if they're in there calipers caliber whatever you like to call them they probably are in there it feels like there's some weight once again i mean this i mean this was wet before it just got wet but you can see based off the box like look how this is all folding up so it's crazy to me that like you can just tell based off like cardboard one's been out for a while or at least a day crazing me that like no other scrappers went out in 24 hours at least to me it's crazy i guess i did pick up that chair oh yeah the reason why i grabbed this chair was because it was marked in the back uh fowler chair company fowlersville michigan i have no idea on age on that 60 years old 70 years old i would say thing is a beaut thing uh definitely was well made back in the day the coolest thing i think which is now buried under everything is probably that sink and it's an a very uh undervalued score uh old cast iron sink with the porcelain handles on it i will take the porcelain handles off and also probably take off maybe the faucet i try to sell that rather than just like you know scrap that and turn into a new sink uh the thing is really heavy but i think the porcelain handles will sell they are marked i think once it's hot and are once it's cold or one says warm so that's kind of cool i think it's the first time i've ever found like a cast iron sink in the trash i've never really even picked up a cast iron anything at a or a cast iron uh sink or a bathtub at an auction before just because they're so heavy i mean that thing was pretty heavy i can't imagine those claw foot cast iron bathtubs that everyone always raves about i just back breaker just thinking about it um but yeah that's a cool cool find there so other than that it's been another fun day always a pleasure to go out there do trash picking you never know what you're gonna find i wasn't really expecting that much we got a planter here which is perfect for uh for the spring summer season it's a little bit too big for me i can't imagine the amount of dirt you got to put in there but um someone out there is
