we go into the high pyrenees today in fact we topped the highest point of this year's tour de france in stage 15 as we race now to the principality of andorra welcome to live coverage presented by rocket mortgage i'm phil liggett with me as ever is bob roll and there they are bob all set to go mark cavendish on the front line he'll be worried about the time limit next to him in the yellow jersey mark cavendish in the green obviously uh the race leader tare pogata he'll be worried about the other gc contenders attacking him on a very mountainous stage today phil well the yellow jersey in the center of our picture teddy pogcha big test day for him today when we were last in the high mountains of the alps he was looking a little bit tired we'll find out today getting ready for the countdown inside 10 seconds all the leaders jerseys as always on the front to take the race away [Music] i guess bob that's another sprint one by mark cavendish because he just left the blocks ahead of the field okay the neutral section doesn't count but good point phil king of the mountain new jersey israel startup nation mike woods the canadian had a embarrassing crash no significant damage from that pretty impressive however that he remounted and caught the riders he was with in the breakaway after that crash while leading the breakaway this is the first time we've ever rolled away from cerrey on a stage of the tour de france so let's learn about the full route now bob with the geico stage man do west it's almost impossible to find a more westerly route for today's stage steep climb at the beginning watch for the breakaways to go bananas sprint point in oh yeah and then three category ones one category two that are categorized plenty of other climbs on the race course however 35 ko in points up for grabs also a time bonus on the last climb of the day and it's going to be a tough one because the weather bob we've just rolled away in 84 degrees fahrenheit at the finish we dive down into the heart of andorra in the pyrenees it's still running at 76 degrees there well we're looking down from the helicopter here on the tour de france as we see now that that chase group of some 20-plus riders have now picked up the leaders mark donovan the british right on lotto and fossil burger got to them first and then the rest got across the gap but on the descent of this uh little mountain here now in the pyrenees oriental area and the main field with the yellow jersey of teddy pagacio but now at 3 47 this is making for an interesting day now as we left for break as you could see this rider locked up solid it's lane gun the teammate of the race leader who is on the front fortunately the brakes worked and it's loose gravel there bob so he was very lucky he didn't skid breaking like that as green took a look at him said what are you doing casper ice cream not sure if that rider teammates with the yellow jersey of teddy paga by the way looking at rigoberto around at the back these are the leaders now there's quite a lot parry go do van arte i know uh valk polls is there tunes guerrero castel viejo valverde woods these are big names now ellison chris fike ala philippe jonathan izzigira franco bonamua donovan at the british ride in his first tour la tour vampire martin cruz and armory and there's more michael matthews is up there fernandez thomas again who started it all postal burger ballerini that is a big group bob but for the moment the combination is good because the mayo jaune isn't too worried about these riders up here almost 25 minutes to his nearest rival in the overall standings for the yellow jersey of teddy pagacha very impressive michael matthews has made this group and he is a number of points behind mark cavendish but there is a sprint point 20 points up for offer in the next few miles so michael matthews from bike exchange very impressive ride and he should be the fastest printer and the only rider really motivated go for those points he's just taken his turn at the front they are absolutely flying in the breakaway though this is going to break up before the finish but i would imagine these riders will contest the stage win king of the mountains also there well these are the notable names up front and the number of stage wins that they've had ala philippe has won six stages in history in the tour de france nebulae has won the tour and has had six stage wins at four valverde the oldest man in the race acne 42 he's had four wins matthews three and from seb coos down no stage wins for them yet well while ben o'connor was talking there bob another australian michael matthews second place here has decided to go earlier 15 miles from the sprint point of the day but that's why matthews has gone in the break today he wants those 20 points you would do well to follow michael matthews at least until that sprint point if you're in this huge breakaway it's splitting up it's going to continue to do that that is steven croy's week in the yellow and black of jumbo visma nibili bernard powlas the american on ef and the pink jersey matthews and davide ballerini for the kunik he's got a teammate in julian ala philippe in the chase group let's see if he continues to cooperate mike matthews would love if this group cooperated he would have a lot less riders to sprint against in that sprint point just like you said phil 15 miles away well it was indicating there to julian bernard come on let's work together let's keep setting the pace the overall standings in the green jersey is cavendish has 279 points matthews matthew's in second slot he will go over the 200 mark if you could get the 20 points just down the road it's not quite just down the road but it's about 18 they're 14 miles away now but it looks bob as though they're making progress here they are and they'll be taking advantage of the hesitation from the riders behind led by the ineos squad they have two riders in there castro viejo and also dylan van barro but michael matthews he's put in a lot of effort he wants to make the most of that wouldn't get the 20 green jersey points this is a breakaway which established a while back now it's a massive breakaway the best placed in it is palais 24 minutes behind overall the leading the peloton by eight minutes with all of the overall contenders back there and these are all the names for you julia ala philippe is there the world champion quintana looking for king of the mountain points and the one name that everybody is looking out for is michael matthews he's in this breakaway with the most to gain now as we approach the sprint of the day midway there's the green banners we're very close to the spin finish bob and michael matthews at one kilometer to go will want 20 maximum points one kilometer to go and we saw that moments ago by you know that's uh one kilometer to the sprint watch the man in the dark blue jersey try to steal these points from michael matthews matthews is looking to get 20 close his gap his disadvantage of cavendish but cavendish's teammate ander kunich ballerini is going to try to snatch those points away from michael matthews only give him a chance for 17. i wouldn't be surprised if anybody else really gave this a big try but ballerini and matthew should be all in in just a few hundred meters for this sprint point couldn't agree more bob did you see them twitch there michael matthews looked over his shoulder i think he heard you talking about that he saw ballerini in the whites of his eyes right behind him as they continue there are only four riders left in this white jersey team from group armor fdj three of them are in this breakaway the one missing out with stephan kunga matthews just checking to see where ballerini is tucked in right behind him there are the two sprinters a very important result for this for michael matthews he's had to work hard to establish a place in this breakaway cavendish though is in the peloton and has not been dropped by that peloton just yet 300 meters to go good tight finish we're in the town of olette oh well there's a sign you can see that for yourselves now the head going for it phil yep again starts it now comes michael matthews on the right of our picture and ballerini kicks a little bit late far too late well that was a strange one because ballerini was he having a sleep bob or what i think he got caught off guard there by thomas the hint getting in on the action michael matthews used that uh acceleration by the hint to slingshot off of him a very good sprint by michael matthews that's why he went in the breakaway and mission accomplished zero points for cavendish obviously thomas de gent uh maybe doing a professional favor there let's see if let's see if michael matthews doesn't pay him back later by working for thomas the hint for the rest of the stage at this point ah it's interesting also he said if i'm not mistaken phil the hint got the points away from ballerini also so thomas the hint i would imagine that's a a favor that the hand will expect to have paid back later on in the stage or in the tour de france or further down the road in their uh respective seasons as they unfold well that's a good right good route for michael and that's it thank you thomas i'll remember you later on perhaps we'll see because a long way to go yet 122 kilometers still to ride uh we're now leaving olette with the front groove of riders all day long we're in the pyrenees oriental region of france but we are going to tackle the highest climb of this year's tour which we will top with some 25 26 miles to go to the finish that is the port don valera and we top out at 7 900 feet and so uh there may be smiling now but they won't be smiling in a few hours time when they go over into andorra so now polls has gone and woods is going to have them just like the shadows of yesterday but valpo has given the clean shot of the finish has he got the best finish as he comes off that right hand bend and now woods is in the slips and grav van arter's behind valvolat also a chance to move up the man in black tries to get through on the inside who would have thought a sprint finish like that and i thi it was polled and i think about van hart followed by the king of the mountains michael woods while paul's getting in on the action imagine him in the polka dots at the end of the day and this is how while polls did it holding off wild van art is impressive michael woods getting picked for a couple of points versus wild pole so while polls i my math is not wrong moves within two points of michael woods's lead nairo quintana let's see if he didn't get fourth across the line there didn't get a chance i don't think so i think it's thomas thomas the hint so it might be that nairo didn't get any points on that sprint well let's have a look his first six get points it's poles gets to ten vanert eight woods at six let's look further down see if cantona got in there over we've gone straight to the standings so it's woods now with 60 one point now only the advantage over poles and nine points over van art and quintana bob did not score because he still sits on 50 points wow this is a competition that's going to go to the wall here and have a little smile here about poles and uh a dutch man and the belgian frontier having a drink the champion of belgium in fact about uh about an art now they get they're getting a bit twitchy here about poles has gone on the left-hand side of our picture being chased by pogba opera again it is ralph manohar who is sprinting clear now it looks as though vanessa is going to win he's looking with the whereabouts of the pogba he better go again because oh and he's just he's actually now got uh lost his lead there with that sprint he needs to be in front of the second place rider bob but i'm afraid we have a new leader there woods loses a point to wild polls that would put them on identical points and it will go down to who's gone over the highest categorized climbs more often i think that advantage would go to mike wood so in the virtual standings still plenty of climbs to come mike woods still leading but the next couple of climbs that will tell the difference well fan art getting the better of poles and woods no problem at all so what could be one of the few riders capable of winning the green jersey and the climber's jersey in the tour de france impressive riding well poles got the jump but walt van art much quicker nairo quintana instantly out of it and valverde so nairo no points i don't think unless he got around val verde which is unlikely mike woods not giving up almost got the better of waffles if i'm mike woods i go on the offensive on the next climb try to drop while pulls he was much stronger on the climbs yesterday so there's valverde fourth and no points for nairo quintana valverde got that last point and mike woods third well pulls fourth while pen art though the quickest on the cat two [Music] i can't understand what quintana is up to because he said today he would go hunting for the points required to take the lead back in the king of the mountains and he's in the leading group and so far he's done nothing but he's also issued a warning at the start this morning saying the last climb the call the bake sales is going to be the one to decide the race today and that's a tough climb and carries a time bonus as well nairo quintana the next rider to attack must have been saving his legs for these two big climbs before the finish very good tactics by nairo if he gets these two these 10 points and the next 10 points he goes back in the lead in the kom standings well that's the big thing and cantona i think it saved the best for the end of the race because he was saying that he was going to attack today for the point and we haven't seen him until now and these two climbs he puts all his weight into a lot of wind out there so nairo is going to have to measure his effort but he's got the power one of the greatest climbers who's ever lived in professional cycling nairo quintana on the rampage now for the next point it should be about a kilometer away for the port don valera and 10 points up for grabs well this is the old night of quintana of watching now the man who was once the king of the mountains in this race and rewarded the first rider to the summit don't forget they get that 5 800 extra dollars for going over the highest point of this year's tour de france no more fitting to the manor's been one of the best climbers in the past in this event he's been the king of the mountains before he wants that jersey back that he held about a week ago these are the chasers led by vincenzo nibili and alejandro valverde dots are there just in front of wild van art so lots of points michael woods needs to keep his eye on wild poles and wild van art and nairo quintana flying up the road 10 points up for grabs if he gets those and mike woods gets nothing then nairo gets that much closer in the kom standings i'd be surprised if mike woods didn't go for the other points on offer goes 10 points 8 6 four two and one points for this next kom point is totally gamble bob on these last two climbs of the day he's watched he's weighted he's relied heavily on that group staying clear and that's still well clear of the rest of the field and the field behind we dropped back here this is the alaphilippe in third place trek sega frigo trying to get on terms this is an interminable climb this we're now on andorran roads where a lot of the riders in this front group know these roads inside out kintara the climber back in the driving seat [Music] nairo man full power now for the kom and maybe the stage when it is quite windy there's a sweeping descent off of this and then bam the last climb of the day hits the riders right in the grill in the finale of the stage by chalice is the next climb there's the next attack and that is guerrero with wild van art on his wheel and mike woods in the polka dots able to counter that for the moment while polls is there also in the red jersey with the yellow helmet sep coos number 15 riding well the american from durango here's michael woods going 14 miles an hour up this climb that is impressive this is a very very fast car i said earlier on today that the road here in andorra will be very wide and the gradient is not very very steep but it's long it's an awful long climb [Applause] well we're definitely into andorra now bob and this is a man that rode his first tour de france in 2013 and in his first tour of france won the king of the mountains finished second and won the white jersey he's finally come back he's already led the king of the mountains for five days here he comes over the top of the highest point of this year's tour 10 points in the bag plus nearly 6 000 us dollars as well the battle for second place now it is the black top jersey of vaudeville art here goes but valpols is after him but he seems to be unbeatable in the sprint and he's over in second place barrett van on followed by poles there and the polka dot jersey i think goes over in fourth place but unfortunately bob woods has found these three riders too strong for him today i think paul's goes into the lead of the king of the mountains jersey if my math is correct nairo pulls himself higher up with 60 points while fan art goes to 59 and mike woods losing two points they were on same points going into that so virtually mike woods moves into second place in the kom standings and while polls takes the lead over but 10 more points up for grabs on the next climb which comes right after this ascent not technical good roads but very fast descent and the crosswinds might play a big role in whether or not nairo quintana can stay away eighth tour de france appearance he finished second twice he's got three stage wins in the tour and won the kingo mountains as you mentioned these are the results of that last climb quintana fan art paul's woods only four in valverte too so i think that while polls now goes into the lead of the overall standings virtually 68 mike woods two points behind quintana ah it's gonna be a great competition for the rest of the tour de france that's for sure michael woods has a champ because they're bringing back canton above they're bringing him back and it's valverde that's brought him back with david gudeau let's see if the other guys have been killing themselves for kom points maybe not as fresh as quintana valverde gadu nibali is there also and julian alla philippe in the white jersey with the rainbow bands sep coos riding well he is the last jumbo rider still in the front group ian izugide is also there with ruben guerrero and there's mike woods just coming back to the wheel of nairo quintana in the polka dots well seb coos has just taken on a drink there it's looking very cool and seb cruz the 26 year old durango he's in the tour de france in the aid of his team leaders but right now i think he's got the best chance he's ever had of going out and winning a stage here in andorra in la welter 2019 he won a stage in the tour of spain and he won stage five in the warm-up race for the tour de france last year the continuum to do he's got the quality and this bob without doubt is seph's best chance now woods has got to the front he already fired up now is he going to keep his jersey by the top there's 10 points if he can get it well the leader while polls has been dropped in the virtual standings if he can drop him further and measure quintana's acceleration he's in the red jersey oh quintana in trouble cortana's gone [Applause] kendana suddenly hit the wall and has cracked and now it's all swung back to michael woods who's in that group and could still be in the orthodox jersey tonight this is quintana in trouble mike woods conceded a lot of points in the last one david gadu the next one to attack countered by valverde sepgus also on the offensive trying to stay with gundy these are the steepest portions of this last climb it is so brutally steep here any acceleration you make that you're uncapable of maintaining you're gonna pay for with big time losses 20 k's to the finish but still a number of kilometers uphill on this final climb julian alla philippe struggling michael woods still in contact but valverde gadou and sepgus look to be the strongest at the moment being google has just got on the offensive we've switched back up to the american cepheus now we're back with indigo and in fact he's chased by teddy pagacha but i'm not sure the others can follow this one yes carapaz is after him so too rigor berto ran this is total commitment on the eve of the rest day in the tour de france because literally every second counts between these riders in second to fifth in the tour de france big attack by vingo countered immediately by pogaccha it took the other riders in the frame here kyra passed uran and moss a little bit of time so far supreme in the yellow jersey and ben o'connor in trouble now he's just been dropped by that acceleration by the young rider in the white jersey second in that competition still on the front jonas vingo bingago having to recover again he made the acceleration they mastered it he's resting again on the front pagacio just watching as we're watching gary thomas up front there number 21. he's fallen back now and that was guillermo martin catching thomas but up front now and it's not far to the top of the climb set coos is going to go over the top of the call that the vexillus in the lead with 26 seconds or so from valverde and over a minute from everybody else surely if he descends well carefully but takes a few risks i have to say he could well win this stage this is alejandro valverde the most experienced rider of the tour de france and a 41 two and a half years older than anybody else in this race bingo goes he's allowed that acceleration to drop ben o'connor but ben o'connor's fought back with wilco kelderman they've rejoined today pogaccha 15 kilometers of the stage left and most of that downhill for number 15 from durango cepcus what a great climb he's put in he's got to hold off a big chase however by alejandro valverde it's going to go right down to the wire today phil judging by the bobbing now of the shoulders he is giving it a hundred percent effort here now this is on his limit is it enough to win the day here at 15 kilometers now is alejandro valverde slowly coming back i think towards sep goose it's all going to be won on the downhill which is a strange thing to say whether at the high spots of the pyrenees valverde not giving up yet 26 seconds sep would be much more comfortable with a little bit bigger of a margin as vingo goes again vindego attacks once more the second time but again the reaction is there look at the faces of the riders who are on the podium in paris if they can hold this man in white meanwhile let's get back up here the american rider seth cruz will see the summit there it is there's ten points and an eight-second time bonus do you think he cares about that the answer is no he wants to be first in andorra down the other side of this mountain and this is the only man i think can spoil the party alejandro valverde he's around the corner he's going to see the banner now he's not that far behind bob valverde a tremendous descender this is going to go all the way to the finish line cepcus trying to hold off one of the greatest cyclists ever in alejandro valverde from spain subcoos from the united states and this is the gc group and it looks like tare pogacha has been doing enough by himself on this final climb to manage all of the acceleration and all of the aggression from his rivals in the overall standings great riding by the yellow jersey again today phil by tare correct absolutely agree bob he's got control of that group and did you notice ben o'connor had gritted his teeth and come back into that group as well so the australians going to go down now this is iran's turn to attack now and look at forgot he just stares at his back wheel and goes on to it and everybody looking over the shoulder to see what the attacks and what the damage they're doing [Music] four clear four riders just clear as we come up to the soil we're a little bit further down the mountain with this group five minutes behind sephoose well cepcus's climb was pretty spectacular as carapaz goes again joined by vingo today no problem right straight on the wheel of jonas vingo rigoberto iran also every one of these riders who won a podium place in paris have attacked on each other on this climb everyone has answered the climb attacker and it is amazing but they're still together for old ben o'connor he keeps getting back on and when the attack he's behind again in that white jersey all he has to do is be back on this group at the top of the climb that's most important lutsenko having a bit of a tough time the only rider not here is gil martin looking to fall out of the top five in the overall standings ben o'connor back on terms with luca kelderman number 73 bob it's a long long time since we've been so many riders in the group equal honorability as we come to the end climb of a day in the pyrenees these each in turn have attacked each other and they've always mastered the situation and we're now taking a look here at uh bilbao who was with that group he's climbing his way back into it as well well we have nine riders in the top ten in this group phil the only rider missing is guillaume martin these are the gc kinder contenders of the tour de france today picacha keeping his eye on every single one of them at the moment well check the leaderboard because seb cruz is still out front our camera is the man who is second on the road this is val verde but he's closing bob 19 seconds on the descent valverde this could be the very last time he will ride the tour de france at 41. and now o'connor has gone again from the group i don't believe it these boys are recovering so well from the moves this is five minutes and 50 seconds behind cepcus and tade pogachar has managed all of these aggressive accelerations people just got up and now he's back in trouble it's a tough game this cycle racing isn't it bob he's made all this he's going to do it all again yeah nine miles super crowd in andorra oh lucenko now a little bit of trouble on the front if he sets a hard tempo that'll make it much harder for the others to attack and maybe that's the tactic now for teddy pagacha at least for the rest of this climb [Applause] riggaberta in the pink they're gritting his teeth but still looking like a man who is fighting and not suffering to be dropped for gotcha never gives anything away this man i've only seen in grimace really grimaced once in the whole of this year's tour de france and that was on 1.2 frank bonamore leading the chase on the descent of cepcus and alejandro valverde with julian allah philippe aurelien parry pontra is the third rider in line there neebily on his wheel but they're over a minute and a half behind cepcus the question for cepcus how many risk is he willing to take to hold off alejandro valverde and for a stage win in the tour de france why not take all the risk you're comfortable with 43. bobby's taking those corners absolutely brilliantly this is ben o'connor again having to put matters to right at the back of the race just in front of him and bilbao yeah they've been dropped by teddy pagacha who is setting the rhythm he's had to counter attack so many moves 10 kilometers six miles and change for cepcus lots of twists and turns on this very technical descent to the finish line and let's see who's a better descender valverde or coos and so far sepp's holding his own and increasing his advantage over his pursuer the only rider capable of denying him of the stage win today will be this rider alejandro valverde well my turn to speak bob and he just lost the second he gained when you were seated speaking he's 19 seconds the gap against you now another little tester as they come towards the summit of the climb forgatcha followed by a rigoberto round richard calapas of vingo now that's the top of the climb so he's got a couple of points no won't got any points as they now start at the journey downhill but they're going down bob far too far behind to spoil the fun at the front now lutsenko and bilbao they're trying to catch ben o'connor who's trying to catch teddy pagacha and company i would give the best descending advantage to now that's not allowed by the rules at the moment and that could be a time penalty for bilbao in the red jersey he wants to stay away from the top tube that's for sure here's the lone leader sep coos lots of twists and turns and just a 20-second advantage i mean it's all downhill to the finish so if he can stay this far ahead of valverde he will win the stage but he's got to absolutely sprint out over every single one of these corners and try to press his advantage all the way to the line nobody's catching cepcus today only disaster could prevent him from winning the stage ben o'connor back on terms with taddy pagacha good ride on this descent by o'connor and a spectacular ride by by today pagacha to defend that yellow jersey but hats off to cepcus going for a stage win 10th american to win a stage in the tour de france a glorious day in the mountains he rode the wheels he was the strongest rider on the last climb all he has to do is maintain his advantage in the last kilometer over alejandro valverde what a win this will be for seth goose he's won six races as a professional cyclist seb coos two years or three years ago now he won the stage of the welter espana the tour of spain this one tops them all as he goes under one kilometer from the line no one is going to stop him now as he races this is a victory ride now to the finish for seb cruz from durango and when he gets there and bob if i remember rightly you picked him to win today before the race started so you bring him home two corners to go all he has to do is get through there safely one more left-hand bend with about 500 meters to go he'll see the finish line and he'll know he can salute the crowd and raise his arms in what will be a glorious stage win for the durango kid sep goose spectacular wind oh that's the joy of victory for seth goose looking over his shoulder valverde is not close enough to catch him a spectacular stage win in the mountains here in the pyrenees for sep goose he comes home bob as the first american cyclist since 2011 to get first over the line on the stage of the tour de france and he's not done it in france he's done it in andorra and surely he'll give us a two-armed salute now it's gonna be worth it [Applause] what an america american winning in andorra what a reception he got and this man gave him the same applause the oldest man in the race by almost two and a half years he's a spanish rider just over the border valverde has ridden to second place [Music] [Applause] [Music] absolutely superb just 25 seconds now it's the race for third barber and there's five riders up for it looks like reuben guerrero is in the pink jersey on the front ian nairo quintana david gudeau didn't quite translate his team's work to a stage win and while paul's also there we don't see mike woods yet ruben guerrero trying to prevent ian izugide from getting that third spot he's getting a very fast finisher there goes bob polls trying for his remnants of the stage placings both goes for it and they have a polka dot jersey as the next leader in the king of the mountains anyway so why not finish it up with a little panache without poles but they're going to go for him guerrero's coming up on the right watch the line at the bottom i think poles managed to clip that so he's finished third and this is dan martin coming home to andorra he lives here nice home cooked in it tonight as he crosses the line there from that group [Music] well we won't have a problem with the language on the interview tonight bob this man has done america proud today [Music] i'm hoping everybody in durango is watching this crowning of one of the best climbers on the planet cepcus sunglasses to the crowd moments ago hitting the line there's a swan year pure joy for cepcus and the yumbo team [Applause] [Applause] saluting the stage win for his teammate sephoose carapaz attacked but the yellow jersey of tata pagacha he was very capable of managing all of those attacks and looked to be in complete control of the yellow jersey on today's stage bilbao and lucenko left behind by the other top ten in the overall standings they're going to lose a little bit of time and let's see how long it takes for gail martin to finish phil all in the good day's work i think that's the way he's thinking here we are in andorra you should know it well he lives here hello i think he lives in monaco michael woods oh yeah big day out for woods bob but i think he's very very tired just checking to see is any dirt on him from a fall but i don't see much i think he's okay just he's committed all day today and he's completely blown up balls will go into the lead of that competition at the end of the day but he's still in the frame and lots of climbing stages to come starting on tuesday after the second rest day which is tomorrow blue's already dead and nicole deporte also two mountaintop finishes lots of points still up for grabs in the king of the mountains competition but he's lost it for the day that's for sure to outpost but he lives to fight another day the next three days when we resume are in the pyrenees the giant colder torment let's have a look at the save results it makes great reading for america seth coos wins look at the time today five hours 12 separate in the front group for all of that time alejandro valverde in second place without clothes was there in third quintana came home in sixth place but he looked a bit shaky out there daniel martin in eighth place there as well this is louis menkes coming home now as he comes up towards the line and chavez chavez is there tucked in nicely this is the tour de france which will not lie down these riders are hitting each other every day and gone are the days of the big bunch sprints this is a tremendous bike race one man is still standing out of head and shoulders above everybody else and there he is it just looks as though he's saying yourself well that's it another day at the office now let's go and get some dinner and that is taday pogaccia this is said coos watch his glasses he gives them to the crowd go on get rid of them sip and then you've got two hands free to salute the crowd great moments for american cycling as well just the 10th american cyclist to claim a stage win in the tour de france and simple step to this podium here for the first time stage winner at the tour how good is that adopted home being able to win this stage right here i mean we're not even in france let's remember this is the little municipality andorra it is a country everyone no you can't get any tax advantage as an american sep so i'm sorry for that but today that does not matter cepcus first time since tyler 2011. started giving hints at the tour of utah in 2018 when he won also won the stage at the 2019 vuelta stage 15 he likes stage 15 at the grand tour two years ago at the welter and also and today your stage winner today overall standings today pogacha remains on top it's no longer guillain martin in second he drops down tonight rigoberto iran moves up to third and way to put the pieces back together yumbo bismuth sep talked about it a little bit but they lost three riders due to crashes now they have in third place jonas venga go they have the stage winner today and a stage winner from stage 11 in wow fine art steps to the top there he'll keep the yellow just looked fantastic throughout the stage the last climb of the day was absolutely brilliant following attack after attack and then just setting tempo to the summit going over the summit in the perfect position on the front to be able to control the speed on the descent keep yellow jersey under wraps tightly yeah going into the second wrestle that's always important as a chris i mean now we can relax a little bit has some hard stages though still yet to come but they all look good for him took over yellow stage eight and has kept it sense polka dot jersey guys it's been the most fickle one we've seen the most change of all the four jerseys while polls the seventh rider to put it on on this tour you know last year we saw an incredible fight for the green jersey this one we got the polka dots and we haven't seen this in a long time i haven't seen this in a long time and it's been great and it's not over you see michael woods he was not happy coming across the line here today michael woods is going to dig deep to get back into this polka dot jersey we got a fantastic battle i think one of the best in a decade seven changes of the polka dots while polls did win it earlier in this tour but it's gone back and forth seven times to the different riders 33 year old remember he was a part of the successful sky and ineos team and they were winning yellow seemed like every single year and he's always so aggressive in the early kom points the first half of the race form is fantastic check that out there we go why not everybody else is fake i want to make memories i want to take pictures of the take pictures of the cameras okay this has not been fickle guys this this has stayed on the same dude not only every stage this year but tommy pagacha won it on stage 14 last year as the top young rider under the age of 25 and he's kept it ever since it might be one of the last days that we see that it's the top five is within an hour because i think next time on tuesday i might be opened up a little bit farther but yeah this is this is his jersey for a long time and it's not just this year it's the next year in the next year he's only still only 22 years old guys i mean this is incredible kind of like a boxer today taking taking body shots and just kind of like shrugging them off none of them really seem to hurt him that much i wouldn't call that rope-a-dope though today i mean this is he could just keep it he could just keep it going stage wins by country there is the old red white and blue there at the bottom united states chiming in with the wind there thanks to step coos the winds continue for yumbo bismuth seth ghost wins the stage while down art wins most aggressive rider today this dude's like a pocket knife he could do anything really i mean you think about what he got him sorry swiss arminess let me pick that up he could truly do anything from time trial to sprint mountain climb you saw him winning bon and then now helping out giving a nice alley-oop to seth coos just changing his roles his worker rolls to from leader to worker domestique back to leader again stage winner just flip-flopping all over throughout the stages you
