hey it's Toki and in this video we'll be exploring Tokyo's remarkable Sushi scene trying a wide variety of the best sushi experiences Tokyo has to offer welcome to Sushi seven days in Tokyo let's get started day one maguraya Craigen our first stop in Tokyo is maguroya kurogin a famous doll in tsukichi outer Market that specializes in fresh cut premium bluefin tuna it's only 8 A.M and there's already a pretty long line to order I love that we can watch the shop owners break down the tuna while we wait I'm already at the front we're going to order the variety niggity set and the three Toro Bowl so we can try every fat level of tuna available this looks amazing we'll start with the leanest cut and work our way up to the fattiest first up akami or lean tuna the Maguro is a nice red deep color cheers to our first Sushi bite in Tokyo oh my gosh this is the best tuna I've ever had in my life so tender next chuturo or medium fatty tuna with a little Wasabi on top wow this tutorial is so Savory with the perfect balance of fat to meat now for The Treasure of the sea Otoro or very fatty tuna which comes from the belly of the fish I can literally you feel it melting in my mouth so rich and buttery finally to the special Toro Bowl on the top negatoro AKA minced fatty tuna scrapings and on the bottom chuturo and otaro which we've already tried and kamaturo the tuna neck meat kamaturo is the fattiest cup for sure I can taste the tuna oil before it even touches my tongue each cut of tuna is striking if you're feeling adventurous try the tuna eyeballs before you go too day two katsumidori on the 8th floor of Sabu department store in Shibuya is katsumidori an exceptional kaitan sushi restaurant I'm really glad we came an hour early so we could be the first customers in at katsumidori you'll find the largest selection of high quality fish you've ever seen at a sushi Go Round The seared notoguro has been really popular in Japan lately kiss of smoke this white fish niggity is delicate and surprisingly fatty I've never tried seared sardine before don't forget the wasabi I keep getting distracted by the sushi go around mid bite each plate here is a different price denoted by the color ranging from 120 to 630 Yen that's about one to four dollars USD which is shockingly Affordable you can also Place Sushi orders on the tablet which will get delivered by the Sushi Train just going to drink my green tea while I wait I'm sure the chefs are skillfully preparing my precious niggities our Sushi's coming oh there it is of course we already know the tuna in Japan is to die for but have you tried raw squid with the tentacles on it it's kind of crunchy and I love it the salmon Toro at katsumidori is superior thick and buttery not to mention the insane fish to rice ratio highly recommend ordering the gun directly here too enjoy the seaweed when it's as crispy as possible I just ordered a childhood favorite of mine the raw baby shrimp gunkang it's like amabi but mini so cute and tasty and the uni here is 10 out of 10. not Briny at all so sweet katsumudori delivers high quality sushi in a super fun environment even the hot food here is amazing [Music] a famous kaisendon restaurant even on a blistering hot day there's still a ridiculously long Queue at 9 30 a.m place your order online and make sure you're ready with cash at 11AM the store opens and it's time for us to enter I can't wait the interior is beautifully lit with the 10-seater sushi counter that surrounds the open kitchen today we're trying tsujihan's most extravagant Seafood Bowl called tokujo and after that long wait I am so ready to eat sushi rice covered with the mountain of lintana fatty tuna shrimp clam squid herringrow with heaping portions of uni and ikura overflowing as glistening toppings this is a historic moment my first bite of TSU jihan's famous Jewel box of the sea whoa so many layers of strong complex flavors sweet vinegary notes from the rice with an Umami punch from the toppings I'm in love uni adds a creamy texture in the Ikea playful Pops in your mouth to change up the flavor pour over the house special soy sauce the sebum Sashimi is paired with the Nutty paste so good for the last piece I'll add it to my bowl so I can enjoy it with those shots again just place your bowl on the counter and a chef will add their house special seabream soup wow I can smell the soup and it's intoxicating oh my goodness this soup is liquid gold that is so savory oh my gosh the race is so comforting and the soup is beyond satisfying for sujihan I'd happily queue up no matter the weather day four uogashi nihonichi a short walk away from shibia scramble Crossing we've made it to uogashi Nihon Ichi for a unique standing Sushi experience just place a couple of orders with the chef the atmosphere is pretty Lively the sushi chefs are super friendly and love to chat with you while prepping Sushi nigidis are ordered piece by piece here and placed right in front of you our first bite is Maguro Super Fresh and high quality tuna in Japan is just another level Bonito is delicate pairs well with the ginger and green onion for round two seared salmon Toro squid and a chunky scallop oh in this sweet and savory glazed Smoky eel back to the tentacles the sushi rice stands out perfect temperature with wonderful sweet vinegar notes really brings out the full flavor of the fish the chef wants us to try his favorite next I AKA seared flounder thin texture is pretty amazing it has a delightful firm true while still being incredibly tender and melty the Smoky Aroma is chef's kiss the Sprite just became the highlight of my day I absolutely adore this experience it's so fun and tasty I almost forgot I was standing day five Sushi Tokyo 10. I never expected to find a rizio makate restaurant in a food court near Shinjuku station oh my gosh are we starting the Omakase with your tutorial I'm used to this being the highlight of the meal and at Sushi Tokyo 10 it's a starter wow that's good next looks like scallop extra chubby just the way I like it automaka says you entrust your order to the shop and only a couple courses in I'm really impressed every fine detail of this restaurant Whispers high end while still evoking a lively atmosphere full of heart I will happily yield to the creative freedom of the chef a few rounds of delicate seasonal niggity followed by okra and their special seared black cod watching the chef prepare each course is mesmerizing and each bite so far has exceeded my expectations one of my favorites kin madai AKA GoldenEye Snapper next it looks like the chef is preparing fresh Abalone and a luxurious bowl of ikura bright salmon Roe over sushi race I'm obsessive Sushi Tokyo 10. next cooked oysters and oh no it's so mushy how do I eat this ready for the mentaiko I didn't really like the oyster last time but I think I'm gonna love this one nice and salty next the Glorious Maguro nigiri lean bluefin tuna in Japan is outstanding I can't believe this omakasa is only 8 000 Yen about 55 USD presenting Otoro the very fatty tuna piece it's like melting already it's like melting in my mouth right now serve next in intricate squid niggity followed by a generous uni hand roll cheers to heavy uni this miso soup is so flavorful you can really taste the clams there are multiple locations of Sushi Tokyo 10 but I recommend the Shinjuku location the staff is really kind and friendly to foreigners while upholding the Integrity of traditional edoma sushi a stunning negatoro hand roll and a classic tamago my soul is so happy Oh I thought that tamago was the end but the chef is preparing anoko next seared with a sweet glaze saltwater eel is the best dessert negative for sure oh and here's the last dessert hand roll sweet compil this whole Sushi experience has been a dream I would absolutely return again in a heartbeat day six sushi zanmai on the third floor of a building just seven minutes walking distance from kabukicho Tower is Sushi zanmai a famous Sushi chain known for Quality Sushi served at an affordable price at this restaurant it looks like you order niggity by the piece from the tablet I'm impressed by the wide variety of needity available but if this is the price per piece it's more expensive than I was originally expecting still I've read so many glowing reviews I'm excited to find out if Sushi's on my lips up to the hype round one just arrived and the sushi looks really promising swordfish drip Jack Yellow Tail just to name a few my husband will start with the seared flounder Fin and I'll kick it off with the Maguro since I've fallen in love with tuna fish is definitely fresh and overall pretty tasty but I'm a little disappointed by two aspects of the niggity for one the fish is placed thinner than what we've had so far in Japan and the rice seasoning is overall just okay sushi rice for me is a really important aspect and it's just a little Bland here for my preference the convenience of this restaurant though is really great it's nice eating at a spacious table perfect for big groups or families pretty enjoyable as long as you come with the right expectations day Seven Sushi die this is the earliest I've ever started my day but it'll be worth it to eat at the legendary Sushi die at toyosu Market trains don't run this early so we took a taxi it's about 6 200 yen for the ride from Shinjuku we've been sitting in the outdoor queue for about an hour and it looks like the line has gotten much longer it just hit 5am and I'm so excited just put down our names and grab their time slot we're in the first wave at 6am and oh my gosh I can't believe we're here that atmosphere is so Lively and vibrant I almost forgot I woke up at 2AM to be here trusting my order to the chef and our Chef is serving tutorial as the first bite of his Omakase first bite at the trail Supermarket Sushi die oh my God oh my goodness wow and if the rest of the niggity is as good as the chituro this will be an unforgettable experience the chefs here get the first pick of seasonal fish Interiors to Market and serve at the best that day serve next flounder a delicate white fish oh my gosh is nice next a rich miso soup made with seafood and Aji beautiful horse mackerel served with grated Ginger and scallions what I'm used to the tomoko being served at the end but here it served as an intermission extra Dashi flavor and fluffy next is kimidai a deep sea white fish that has a subtle sweetness and you know I'm not leaving Japan without one last Maguro I'm seriously obsessed Alchemy the lean deep rib hearts of tuna I've grown a deep appreciation of this cut during this trip in Tokyo next dancing shellfish Abalone and surf clam texture is chewy in the best way possible next soft and tender Spanish mackerel followed by the silver body cutless fish which is robust and Meaty for the grand finale Chef's Choice hosumaki and oh my gosh it tastes so good as an encore bite the chef lets you pick any niggity off the menu my husband's pick naturally but for me I asked for the chef's favorite which is the Glorious horse mackerel from the beginning what a
