Goat awarded with two Michelin stars and surrounded by stunning Gardens filled with sculptures fountains and all kinds of plants not to mention the panoramic views once again the chef rodok will reopen in April by the way all the information you get in this video you can also find in the description below the film last but not least as is famous for its hiking trail called shumanda Nietzsche the rather short but strenuous footpath leads down to another part of the village called esbordome which is situated at sea level and can be reached from nice or Monaco by train the German philosopher Nietzsche who used to spend a lot of time in nice at the end of the 19th century is said to have finished one of his essential works during his climb after the village it's a good workout you should give it a try too expect an hour and a half for the ascent and 45 minutes for The Descent let's sum up what makes esvilar so special our next stop is sample device probably the most famous Village of Rd partmo called alpumai team apart from heirs back in the day when the artists had discovered the cortezur and its special light and radiant colors Sao Paulo de Vons became a hot spot for Picasso Matisse shagal and the like some of them were regulars at the coulomb dog as you can still tell when staying at this hotel so obviously this Village was destined for art there's lots of Art in all of the little Villages but some part of us is truly special there's one Gallery next to the other and it's really fun to check out the gallery windows and get inspired by the huge Variety in style if you're looking to take home a piece of art this is definitely the place to go prices will vary depending on the artists but they seem pretty reasonable to us one of the famous artists who were fond of some parts was makshagal the russian-born expressionist painter spent almost 20 years in the village where he also died and was buried when you visit his grave in the cemetery facing south just below the town wall don't miss the fortification Discovery walk here at the foot of the ramparts you'll learn more about the historical role of Saint Paul as a military Fortress and its very essence as an agricultural Village another cool way to discover this Hilltop Village is by actually walking on the ramparts with a view all the way to the Sea if you like taking pictures you can go wild in San Paulo when you talk sample you have to talk mad Foundation some of the biggest names in the 20th century European sculpture including [Music] came together to help create France's most important Art Foundation having lunch or dinner in Sao Paulo is always a pleasure too there are several restaurants with nice Terraces within the village the well-known Cafe de la place next to the bull court at the entrance to the Old Town serves lunch the place for 13 euros 50. and here's your checklist for sample device time to head over to biot which is probably the most down-to-earth Place among the five Villages we're showing you today beyut yet another beautiful medieval Hilltop Village is famous for its glass blowers check out at least one of the great workshops for glass art at the foot of the village there's the traditional famous for its bubbly designs as well as the Santa dark which stands for very diverse and creative glass work to us Beyond is the place to go to catch some true Village Life we always run into friends and there are public social events on the regular and Beyond in early summer there's the renowned classical music festival [Music] taking place in the old church with its exceptional acoustic if you ever happen to be on the French Riviera for summer solstice Camp to be at the 21st of June in France is the day of the so-called fedula music and there's music played by the citizens literally everywhere here in Beyond you can listen to different bands on the many cute little squares all over the village and in the amphitheater until late at night for the first time in almost a decade the town's going to celebrate its famous Templer Festival this spring whenever you come to biat take your time to stroll through the little alleys with no cars in the old town There's plants and sitting areas everywhere which makes this place so welcoming food wise you can't get wrong with it [Music] a true institution and Beyond when we came along they were shooting a film right in front of it our favorites in biat are and now let's head to our final destination for today to muja why did we pick Musa which is probably a little less known than some of the other Villages we're showing you today well mujah has its own charm and some very specific features that we'd like to point out to you so let's go and have a look culinary art and art in the broader sense of the word take center stage in muja it's yet another perched Village dating back to the Middle Ages and sought after to live at close to Cannon the sea but surrounded by Nature with easy access to the Alps in the hinterland you're going to love it for its cute little alleys and if you're into food you've found your place once a year the Old Town becomes an open-air cooking Studio during the festival it all goes back to the great chef urge whose Michelin starred restaurant Mulan de muja made the village famous in the second half of the last century well him and someone else actually do you know who this guy is that's Picasso and he's actually chosen to live in muja at the end of his life Pablo Picasso who died exactly 50 years ago is a major reason as to why art still plays a huge role in muja today you'll find Galleries and words of art scattered all over the village plus there's the center of Photography dedicated to still and moving images and the impressive music classic de muja the museum displays within the same space ancient neoclassical modern and Contemporary Art in order to highlight the considerable influence of the ancient world on the great artists from Peter Paul Rubens to Damien Hurst the private Museum holds remarkable artifacts from ancient Egypt Greece and Rome that interact with drawings paintings and sculptures by Pablo Picasso [Music] or pop artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein to name just a few but back to the culinary art all year round people come to the Village to enjoy a great meal there is typical small Mediterranean restaurants all over the old town with inviting Terraces that get crowded even in the cold season [Music] Almond Tree in English has become the top dog lately people appreciate its huge patio in the summer and even more than that the luncheon offer Monday through Saturday for 27 Euros you'll get a main course a glass of wine and a cafe Gourmet which is an espresso with little samples of desserts on the side look how beautiful this property is but hey look at the price too it's really badly like the French would say right if you've fallen in love with mujah as we sure have you'll find several real estate agents right in the old town just be prepared to dig a little deeper into your pocket and here are the highlights of muja this was our top five which Village did you like best leave us a comment actually it wasn't easy for Anya and me to limit ourselves to just five Villages we'll definitely have to show you more of these beautiful places some other time if you liked our video why don't you subscribe to
