hi and welcome to Nice France it's so nice to be back in nice and in today's video I'm going to take you on a tour to this beautiful city in the Cote Azure the French Riviera it's a real Gem and I can't wait to show you my favorite places here in this beautiful city let's check it out [Music] the views from up here are spectacular the Pebbles are pretty large I love the biking part here I always find them and check out that guy there I don't know what he's doing but he's chilling up there the museum Mark Chagall might be my personal highlight of nice there's a waterfall all the way up the mountain it's a pretty impressive imposing building and it's right next to the beach when your niece you of course have to have salads the I love this sign is another great spot for Sunset watching foreign it's a pretty cool design I've never seen anything like it I'm here walking on the Promenade and enjoying the beautiful beach view along the coastline of Southern France this is located in the French Riviera in the very south eastern part of France it's pretty close to Italy it's about 30 kilometers or 19 miles to the border of Italy and Monaco is even closer with about 13 kilometers or 8 Miles away with the population of about 1 million people in The Wider nice area nice is the seventh most populous area in France today I'm going to take you through a tour of this beautiful city there's so much to see and you're going to be amazed because it's just a really beautiful beautiful city let's check it out a great way to get around these is on foot although there's several options for public transport as well my preferred option here in nice is to go by bike and you can rent a city bike here the willow blue for 1 euro 50 base fee per day and that allows you to bike for 30 minutes free each time before you have to lock in the bike again but if you choose to keep the bike longer the fees are very affordable and they're asking one Euro for additional hour getting around by bike is super comfortable here the way this works is you have to sign up online six about three minutes you just need to have a credit card and open an account with them and with that you rent your bike by calling a number that they give you on the display of the bike stations and once you call the number the bike is automatically unlocked and you can take it out you can take the bike off the lock and off you go an alternative way to get around are those scooters but I haven't seen any scooter rental stations yet so I don't know where those are [Music] it's an absolute classic and if you come to nice you do have to check that out because it's just really beautiful and it's not too crowded and even the beach since it's so long there's enough space for people and it feels like the beach is less crowded that in some of the Italian Riviera sites where the umbrellas are so packed and stacked together that you're just too close to your neighbors that's not really the case here check this out [Music] too badly overtaken by lots of bikers because it's kind of hard to film and bike at the same time [Music] check out the architecture here Isn't that cool [Music] good [Music] [Music] thank you so from Miles the beach here in nice is a public beach which is so nice to see as well so you don't have to pay the fees for the bunny that usually exists in Italy I think that concept here is just much better feels more organic and slightly less commercial as well the beach Promenade the Promenade is just so long and as you can see in both directions there's beach now I have to say well this beach is super popular here it is not a fine grain sand beach it's actually a Pebble Beach the Pebbles are pretty large if you're not into Pebble Stone beaches then that might be not the beach for you but most people don't mind and the water is crystal clear so definitely invites for a nice swim in the Mediterranean [Music] this beautiful Palais behind me is the negresco which is a five-star hotel and offers obviously a beautiful sea moves next to the regresco is another place that's worth seeing and that's the museum arsena it's in an historic building and now offers an Eclectic collection of belly pork items including Napoleon's death mask so if you're interested in that definitely check it out there's a whole bunch of old furniture from the bedpoc years and it offers a bit of a glimpse of the history of nice [Music] I'd say even if you don't go inside the museum just looking at the Villa from outside is really beautiful and they have a nice little garden with with palm trees and flower beads it's really nice little Oasis here right in front of the beach also contains a memorial site to the victims of an assassination by a truck driver that killed several people in an incident on the Bastille Day on 2016. and those victims are remembered here with their pictures very moving okay and we're now continuing our tour along the Promenade to our next destination let's check it out [Music] what's it cool along the Promenade here that on the one side you have those beautiful bellapock buildings and on the other side you have the beach can't get much better than that [Music] another big hotel which is also a casino and of course there's a Hard Rock Cafe and several high-end hotels so we pretty much come to the end of the pulmonary and I'm now heading into the adjacent Park here check it out I guess another way you can get around nice is with those little choo-choo trains you probably won't see me anytime soon on one of those future trains and I'm perfectly happy with my bike ride and I've arrived at the plasma center which is the Beating Heart of nice really a beautiful Square with a fantastic architecture historical buildings all around and there's always something going on let's check it out that the south side see this fountain Greek depiction of the solar system it was initially put here in 1956. the status depicts Earth Mars Mercury Venus and Saturn and in the center of the fountain there's a seven meter statue of Apollo which symbolizes the Sun many fountains and statues I saw in Skopje in Macedonia so a bit of a similar feel let's check out plasma Cena a little bit more this is really a site with lots of Buzz and lots of families and children playing here is just really beautiful I mean I love the facades here the red and the yellow ornamentation and the green window shutters and check out that guy there I don't know what he's doing but he's chilling up there so this Buddha is actually part of a whole bunch of Buddhas the Buddhas of John plenster which seems to be an art installation here on the square I didn't know why there are Buddhas on the square seems a bit of a busy place to put Buddhas but kind of looks cool I like it foreign [Music] [Music] check this out [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] you see the Avenue zombies huh and that is a beautiful walkway with lots of restaurants cafes ice cream parlors but it's really known for shopping this is the place where people in this go shopping there's a whole bunch of boutiques not the most expensive ones you'll find Zara Sephora Metropolitan h m and similar types of international brand stores here [Music] thank you [Music] what's really nice about this is that there's lots of streets in our pedestrian Zone and there's nice cafes restaurants lots of shopping of course let's check it out [Music] sometimes [Music] foreign I've now arrived at my next destination which is the nice Cathedral the cathedral and it's really a beautiful Gothic style church that reminds me a little bit of the Notre Dame in Paris just smaller let's check out the interior and have a look what it's like I was told it has beautiful stained glass windows let's have a look [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign okay from here I'm going to head to my next destination and that is the museum Mark Chagall in the hills of nice let's check it out you see Mark Chagall might be my personal highlight of nice it's such a cool Museum which features some of the most important works of Mark Chagall and he was actually still involved in the design and building of this Museum the museum contains larger and smaller works of Mark Chagall for the highlight of the collection is probably the 17 biblical themed large scale paintings that you'll find in the interior but what's also interesting is that there's quite a bit of work that was printed from Mark Chagall he created several important printed herbs that you can visit in this Museum let's have a look [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] is about ten dollars so it's pretty affordable and absolutely worth it make sure to also check out the garden around the museum which is really beautiful foreign [Music] foreign [Music] which is the signature salad of the city and that's what I'm gonna do now I'm gonna have my salad nicoise at the cafe here at the Museum a very nice salad let's check this out so now this was traditionally made of tomatoes hard-boiled eggs nicoise olives and anchovies or tuna dressed with olive oil or in some historical versions also have vinaigrette it has been popular worldwide since the early 20th century and salad this was is just a magical combination of the ingredients they just go so well together yummy [Music] I'm not entering the old knees we're going to get a little bit lost in the other ways of this beautiful part of town let's check it out I'm just telling you another place that's of course because it's just in front of me unfortunately it's a nice neoclassicistic building that dates back to the end of the 19th century like so many of the buildings here nice so this part of town really changes from the big boulevards that you can normally see in these the houses are much closer together it's more the other ways that make way to small bistros capris cafes and that's just a really nice Vibe here in this part of the city foreign [Music] make sure you don't forget to take some of the small other ways in the behavior it's just so beautiful thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you so I'm standing here in front of another landmark in nice which is the Opera the Opera House of nice was built in 1885 and it's one of those art neoclassicistic buildings that you find all across nice it's a pretty impressive imposing building and it's right next to the beach check this out the beach here is also named after the Opera so it's a public beach which is called pretty nice so here's the front entrance to the opera house and unfortunately I won't be able to visit a performance here but if you get a chance to do that I read it's really beautiful but be aware of the the cheaper tickets because I read that some of the views that you get from the cheap seats are not that great you can hardly see the stage apparently so that of course defeats a little bit of purpose but it's a beautiful building and if you get a chance to see a performance here it wouldn't be too bad let's get back into the old town and visit a few more things I want to show you [Music] thank you [Music] so I'm now at another iconic place in the city of nice which is Plaster Salia which houses the flower markets and I assume this is only happening in the mornings because right now because other types of goods that are being offered here in this market can quickly have a look let's check it out sweating without pottery all kinds of knickknacks that you find at this Market here thank you [Music] I really like the lights that we swear offers it really feels more like a gigantic pedestrian Zone rather than one square with lots of restaurants and cafes on the one side and the various stands on the other side [Music] thank you [Music] so if you get a chance definitely check out last and we're going to go to our next destination in this beautiful city let's have a look thank you I've now reached the plus Rosetti which is another beautiful square that you don't want to miss when you're in the old town just such a nice Vibe here and lots of restaurants and bistros s and some glass gelato and in front of the square you'll find one of the major Cathedrals here in nice and that's the Cathedral of Santa Barbara Denis it's a baroque Cathedral that houses paintings free organs and an altar with the remains of the Martyr Santa reparata the 17th century Cathedral features a separate Bell Tower and on the bottom of the bell tower there is a commemoration of the whole Heroes of the first World War I assume those were all citizens from nice [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] from where you can have a really nice view of all of these and we're going to check that out now thank you okay the view from up here is absolutely spectacular you have to come here and check this out it's so cool you get a fantastic view all over nice check this out in the front there's the Old Town The View and it's the more modern boulevards are just behind very cool now I'm not gonna lie it's a bit of a steep walk up here nothing insurmountable but if it's hot outside you may want to bring some water up here you also find a waterfall because God and we're gonna check that out now I can already hear some water maybe not too far distance and the whole Bay of nice so nice foreign [Music] that's men mate but nevertheless it's really neat and quite loud too so my assumption was right this waterfall has been created in the late 19th century and one of the parts of the ancient Castle where the castle walls for particularly steep and that's where they put the waterfall what a nice idea I'm now in the castle District all the way up on the mountain and uh let's see with a little bit of luck I'll show you a few drone shots from up here as well oh [Music] okay so I was able to take a few nice pictures and videos from up there but unfortunately the park closes at 8pm so I have to head back into the city now a father [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] the waterfalls make sure you do that during sunset the views from up here are spectacular and they're even nicer when the sun is low going up there was probably one of my personal highlights of my business only recommend to check this out just so beautiful to see that I use from way up there all over the city so nice thank you the islands this sign is another great spot for Sunset watching and as you can tell I'm already on my bike again and I'm going to continue to explore the city and check out this beautiful sunset first [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right I'm gonna head over to the port area now and we're gonna check out some of the Yachts that are in the harbor of nice I love the biking part here so this inconspicuous red building behind me is the birthplace of Giuseppe Garibaldi who is one of the founding fathers of the modern Republic of Italy and contributed to the unification of Italy in a big way he was born in nice who would have known check out more on Giuseppe Garibaldi in my video on Genoa foreign compared to many other Mediterranean cities the harbor of nice is actually quite cozy it's a very narrow Bay and there's lots of small boats also a few Yachts here but not as many as Monaco and other places from the harbor I'm now going to head over to the tech Curry let's check that out here's the one in our Museum the music [Music] foreign [Music] garden and the building behind me the square heads that Curry is a library building and it can be visited it's supposedly seven floors inside and uh two of them are in the neck the other five are in the Cube It's a pretty cool design I've never seen anything like it very cool check it out when you're here nice I didn't notice at first but the tech area is actually lit up in the tricolor the colors of the French flag blue white and red have a look all right from here we're gonna go back to the city center let's check it out foreign [Music] foreign [Music] this concludes my tour through niece I hope you enjoyed this video and if you did please give it a thumbs up and also check out my other videos on beautiful friends there's so much to see in this amazing country and if you haven't done so yet please subscribe to my channel and I hope I see you next video have a good one bye
