hey what's up seven days to die is all about Base building but finding a suitable location that can carry you into the late game can be difficult so that's why I combed through the POI list and did some extensive testing to figure out what existing buildings make for the best base locations and since best is pretty subjective I'll be rating each location and the base that I demonstrate based on the following criteria proximity to the trader and location resources or demolition required loot bonus safety and durability and finally the capacity for expansion I believe the best Horde bases allow for a mixture of ranged and melee fighting so standing on top of a building and shooting down in other words like a tower based strategy is not something that I factored into this list first I'll show you the POI then I'll walk you through the construction and demolition process required to convert it into a functional horde base then we'll run a quick test and I'll break down the pros and cons and I'll be giving some design tips and tricks throughout in hpoi I've tried to design around the strength of the existing structures and maintain the original aesthetic of the building we'll be looking at El Chapo's Mansion the silos Bob's boars the grocery store then Coleman's Drive-In movie theater I'll put timestamps in the description if there's anyone in particular that you'd like to skip ahead to and we'll be spending about five or ten minutes at each one and if you have an extra minute while you're watching this I'd really appreciate a quick tap on that like And subscribe button so here we're at El Chapo's Mansion also known as house modern18 and the building that we're going to convert into our horde base is that Tower right there this is an extremely solid foundation here consisting of solid concrete just get that out of the way and there's a crawler that spawns up in there I think he's been taken care of though and I'll show you the general layout of what happens here so this these centered bars here are traversable by zombies and so if you can get them up onto this wall and you're hiding in that Tower over there the zombies will take a path just like this and walk straight over to this little portion of the wall here and they'll try to beat in there to get to you so what I'm gonna do first here is I'm gonna get a little bit of a catwalk using security gate plates what you will have to do is knock out this ladder here at least two rungs of it so right after you're done with that that only took a couple of minutes and interestingly these ladders do degrade a little bit but anyway you're going to come right up to this block right here this is going to be your fighting window so you will have to kind of grind through this as well there you go that's your fighting window and essentially this base right now is fully functional uh the zombies can get to you from other areas but because it's so difficult for them to do so they will prefer to use this Avenue right here so this is one of the Rails that zombies can run up to to get to you and this is the other one right here so zombies can go in through the garage up into the attic bust through the roof and then run across jump down onto this and start beating it from the side but they will only do that if this here somehow gets knocked out so for like a day seven horde or even a day 14 horde I don't think you'd have to worry about this but it is advisable for you to knock this out at some point and that right there will be plenty the zombies will not want to dig in through the side and these here you're perfectly safe because these are off-centered so let me just demonstrate real quick if I put a block that's off-centered like that the zombies will not want to path on it if I do the centered block they will want to path on that one and if I do the pull side centered they will not path on it in this orientation but they will path on it in that orientation so these are all the off-centered variant just like this one is right here and so you don't have to worry about zombies jumping onto that and of course you got to do the same thing over here but as far as this side here goes that's all you got to do because this wall is a little bit shorter than the typical wall as we saw on that side so now what you got to do is come over to this corner over here watch that land mine and this is a system right here that zombies can use to jump up here but of course this stuff's very very soft so I wouldn't recommend that you rely on that for a horde night and so what you can do is I'm assuming you've collected some materials so I gave myself a very modest amount of cobblestone wood and iron with which to build a little bit of like a ramp system up here this here is all you're gonna need upgrade this to Wood you always got to make sure that you take care of the edges of your staircase to make sure that the zombies don't break them that should do just fine right there traditionally what I'll recommend is that you jump down here and you put another staircase right here we'll just do a little bit of an alternative method for doing this here and for the outside aspect I'm going to go with this catwalk V2 wedge plate only and I'm going to say on face and rotate it just like this do that on both sides to me this is more aesthetically pleasing than the sort of splayed out staircase thing that we did before and that's gonna have the same function as the one we saw before it's going to keep the zombies in line and they shouldn't get stuck here on the edge and then they'll come straight up to here hook a left and head straight for you over there the absolute best block you can put inside here is going to be this railing here and there's a multitude of blocks that you can put here I'm just going to put a quick plate ramp just like that and I'm going to make up a hatch we'll get a wooden one and an iron one and I'm gonna flip this one on face and put it just like that so if I close it it will kind of block off zombies if they are to break this top block here eventually you'll want the zombies to break this concrete block that's behind the railing piece so that you can then put another railing piece in its place there we go I would say just put a couple of spikes right here which is right where you're going to be sitting I put a total of maybe nine it's a little bit cheesy but it'll get the job done eventually what you could do is maybe like knock out this piece here put a blade trap there and then knock out one of the blocks there and put in a full cube like it is over here and put a blade trap on top of that and that would take care of the birds real quickly okay so what I'm gonna do now is just give myself a bunch of XP we're gonna crank up our game stage crank up the day and set it to a horde night and see how this would perform against like a mid-game horde day 28 hour 22 and minute zero and we'll see how many zombies we're about to get here we've got Max alive of 15 and a total number to spawn 57 per wave and we'll have three waves so let's see how we do here it looks like the zombies are on the other side of this wall trying to beat their way in there they go they just broke through so they should the the flow should be much better now let's watch them wind their way up here foreign let's just take take a look here from the outside they really haven't done any damage at all I didn't do any repairs all night long I don't even have any concrete mix on me and they did minimal damage to that plate that we put up there as well in terms of repairs and things like that you will need to probably upgrade this bar system you can let them destroy all of this you can let them beat through that I would recommend just taking this wall out here completely but otherwise you're not going to have any problems holding down a hordeer for many many days I did just want to see how 25 vultures might fare against the base though Yep they're on to me now hide okay apart from the one Bird that's inside here I think we're doing pretty well yeah so let that be proof that you just need a couple spikes above you and that should take care of all the birds what do you want Steve oh right in the knee so here we're at Bob's boars and Carl's corn otherwise known as house gamble number three okay so let's get started here now the idea here is going to be that you'll have two fighting positions one on each window and you'll be able to alternate sides based on if one side takes too much damage you could shut it off go to the other side and the zombies would just reroute over to that end foreign demo work you can kind of see how this is going to start taking shape I'll just put a couple placeholders in here and then we're gonna have to connect those up to this support pillar right here and in terms of what block I'd like to use here you have you could just leave it like this or you could use any number of options I'm just going to give you an example of a different shape that you could use on the one side I'll use a centered security gate and just leave it like that the zombies will path over that just fine and on this side here we're going to use the cheesiest possible block that I know of that you can use that zombies will path over and that is the center 0.025 meter pillar and you'll put it just like this zombies can travel across this but only basically in single file and they fall off very very easily and then over here what you're going to do is you're going to put in a door so let's craft up a couple of doors and you're just gonna put an on face rotation just like that and another one there and then all I'm going to do from here is basically just make a staircase for them to get up to that level and I'm going to use this concrete fence as a foundation for that all right so that's what I got you got a left and right staircase coming up to this Central pillar right here and this is where it starts to get like really solidified by this concrete wall they'll run up over here and then they will diverge in either direction based on which side you want to fight them at at any given time and of course always advisable that you protect the edges of your staircase definitely Overkill but that will certainly funnel them in the way you want them to go okay as for all this stuff what is this oh that's really strong iron we gotta pound through this we don't need this here at all foreign to turn these into some fighting positions your first hatches will go here on the bottom the other two will go on face on the top just like this and so when you close both of these hatches you have an excellent little fighting window right here but the problem will be that zombies can squish through here and they will and so you'll want to put another block kind of in this block space here that hasn't been occupied yet with something that will force the zombies to stay on the other side they won't be able to squish through a good block for that is this scaffolding plank you'll Advance rotate it so that it's just like this and it's a big enough window for you to fight through but not big enough for zombies to squeeze through and then another thing you can do in the block that I recommend is going to be the railing block which is right here it's just called railing and this is my favorite block because you can actually work through it you can open and close the hatches and doors here without being obstructed if you use bars or a security gate or many other blocks you you will obstruct yourself and you won't be able to reach through it so that's a very well done strong fighting position in both sides that you can get through yourself if you need to to come out here and conduct repairs or replace blocks or whatever I'm gonna put a railing block just like this so that if zombies start stacking up they're not going to be prone to like actually getting on the lip of that little roof piece there alright so that is 100 finished for construction and it's only 13 18 I think we got started this morning at uh 5 a.m so I've only spent half a day doing this the only thing to really test out is is this going to hold up against a horde so the strength of this base here is that you can block zombies out if you get a dog or something and you want to kind of force them back out you can use this hatch here and that's just added security to keep the zombies back but you also have the option of opening this door and dropping the zombies off so the last thing you got to do here I don't I almost forgot about it is you got to make sure the zombies can't get you from behind so you gotta just come down here and knock out like two runs of stairs and maybe a couple other blocks underneath and you should be all set all right that should do it you should be all alone up here now so I've already given myself a bunch of of levels so that we'll have a more difficult horde so now all we have to do is set the day to oh let's go with like 36 hour 22 minute zero and see how difficult of a horde we're about to get here and by 36 I meant to say 35 here we go oops not loaded great oh boy he's coming straight in here oh my goodness yeah we didn't do anything to fight the birds you kind of have to figure something out for them oh boy we're getting a lot of zombies here though let's just drop them off real quick while we get kind of locked and loaded here and make sure they're not beating it on this side they're not there's a lot of zombies here though all right I'm very curious to see how difficult is this horde gonna be we've got a Max alive of 28 number to spawn 120 which is a little bit ridiculous this might not work out too well foreign [Music] this position here is definitely lost now yeah let's leave that and we'll come over here and find him on this side we are halfway through the horde night so that's good foreign it's morning and literally like just minutes ago this thing did finally collapse okay let's take care of The Horde and see what was going on down here yeah they're just ripping into the house you know no big deal really I don't think there's any sort of structural stability problems here except for you know that there was one solitary column here that was holding up a lot of the weight and as soon as they knocked that out the whole thing fell down but I mean I got 54 kills last night at game stage 86 which is really far and above what I should be facing with a level 2 sledgehammer and only four skill points spent not only that but I didn't do one single bit of repairing and no first aid used all night long as the thing with having redundancy having a redundant horde based fighting position is much funner than just sitting there and repairing a block every time a zombie swings in it alright on to the next one this POI here is the store grocery number two or this big grocery store it's the one with the big crater in it and one of the reasons I like this place so much is because there are two working vending machines here you've got one here and one right around the corner here on the right that you could check every single day for all of your drinks and food and candy that you need now the first thing you have to do here is you have to come upstairs to the security office and I wonder if I already killed off this cop nope I didn't he might be able to do me a quick favor here you want to come over here and blow up next to the ladder yep every little bit helps because your base is actually going to be in the roof and so or or in the ceiling like above the drop ceiling but below the rooftop I guess you could say oh look he helped us out a little bit so the first step you got to do is knock out this ladder so that the zombies can't get up to you other than through the pathway that we're gonna build for them in a little bit so it is painful to do with just a level two stone tools but I really wanted to do this in a way where like you could do this on day one and I wanted to demonstrate that all of this is possible in less than one day it's very very easy to make all of these base conversions and so this is where we want to be this is going to be where the horde base is and so I think we'll start off by knocking out these demolition blocks so that we can get a proper roof over our heads okay and I think that will pretty much do it yes because we're gonna flush up the front of our fighting position with this line right here and what I'll do is I'll just copy shape and copy rotation and just fill in the floor wherever we can here but yeah I quite like that here and then now what we have to do is we'll have to string some sort of a walkway all the way over there when we're gonna put a staircase over there for the zombies to get up and then string this like nice tightrope right across here so that when they come up to this fighting position and we fight them off they'll fall down into that pit and they can do whatever the heck they want down there they can thrash around and break blocks and it's not going to affect the Integrity of our structure at all and then they should have their own way of getting out there and then they'll Loop right back around and head straight up to our position again I don't know I'm kind of thinking like right where this light is stringing right right right basically in the middle so how about this pretty tight quarters in here and I'll leave this here so we can put a ladder up here so place that in now we just need a couple of hatches one for the fighting position and one for the top of this if we can get up here just like that okay but here's the real dangerous part and that's gonna be getting the tightrope set up and the biggest problem is going to be structural Integrity so let's just get a little bit of cobblestone in place thank you and of course there's multiple different blocks you can use for this but probably the cheesiest one is the pillar 0.025 meter middle which you can then put on face just like that and then what I'll do is just copy rotation yep now we just have to build up a ladder for the zombies to get up to it I'm even gonna use some of these shelves to our advantage a little bit just make sure that this is done up fully and that the edges are protected it looks like I can just perfectly reach it from right where I am all right that's it and the last thing I'm going to do because I don't want zombies to be up here that would just be a nuisance I'm gonna come down into the pit and there's four blocks that are holding this whole thing here up so we just need to carve through this there it goes well look out yikes yes don't have to worry about that anymore all right so everything appears to be in order zombies will come straight up here they'll run right across the tightrope and we will fight them right here let's just get these final upgrades done and we'll Turn The Horde on and that kind of reminds me we don't want to worry about the birds too much so what can we do up here we can just put some spikes in I suppose let's do that all right we're all done up up here a full transparency here I did run out of wood and so I'm going to just give myself a little bit more otherwise I would just go outside and chop down some trees but we're in the Wasteland right now and walking around outside is just not on the top of list of things I want to do right now okay and with that we are 100 upgraded let's run it against the horde and see how we do and it's really only lunch time that took less than a full day to complete all right I just set some lights up so we can see what's going on this time and we can give self XP we'll do we'll do 750 000 this time I think I did a million on the last one and it was a little bit heavy that gives us uh level 32 and we'll set time to day 28 hour 22 minute zero and that's gonna give us a horde with 23 Max alive 98 zombies per wave with three waves let's see how we do all right it does appear as though these zombies are stuck outside so I'm just gonna break some holes open for them so we don't have to wait here all night okay here they come and we've got a cop already but I'll just be fighting cops I've got a level two bow knife to fight with it's just not gonna go over very well tonight is it we don't have any fallback positions or anything did you just fall down already goodbye okay I was thinking this this would be a good base because you can kind of Stack Up the bleed damage on them and then they fall down and then they hopefully bleed out while they're running the whole way back here not sure if that's gonna be the case or not I'm half dead already it looks like they can escape out of the pit just fine they might have to beat their way through some coolers in order to be able to kind of path all the way back around to the staircase looks like we're gonna get a big wave of them I think they've uh they've worked their way through the coolers now nope cops gonna blow up oh that's not good ow we might end up needing to do some repairs on this base before the night's over with we're only less than a third of the way there I think my favorite part of this fighting position here is that you really almost never have to fight more than one zombie at a time because when they start to stack up they just push off the side I did have to conduct a few repairs on this it almost broke once I also had to repair my weapons and my bone knife so I gave myself some pipes and bones for that and I used three bandages to survive the whole night against a horde I really have no business surviving again seeing how I started construction and and built a base in like six hours but yeah the main problem appears to be that they did not have as good of a way out of the pit as I thought that they would so they ended up just kind of digging their way in there let's get rid of everyone and head down here and see yeah they're just digging in here no big deal really if you just kind of built them a nice staircase to get out you'd have no problem there at all but there you have it this is the grocery store horde base initially I wanted to build the horde base I it wasn't it right here or it was right here because it like centers up on this area here and so this you could turn this into like your horde base here and you could put a nice like Causeway out this way and maybe you could put a little bit of work in you could knock this down here and yeah I think that would work just fine if you wanted to do it that way I think really just the coolest thing is having a base where you have vending machines in it you can check every single morning but anyway we're off to the next one okay so the next base I want to go over here is here at the grain silos or also known as Farm number 11 and I know this place very well I did a whole series in this place because I just thought it would make the sickest horde base ever and it does and let me show you how it works so once you have everything cleared out here you have this ladder in the back and this will take zombies all the way up to the top this is where you want to do all of your fighting the only unfortunate thing about this place is that it's it's so strong almost to a fault because you do have to do some demo work here and everything's gonna take a little bit of time to break apart so we'll start from the front and start getting all of this demolition work done we have to disconnect every single Silo section from the next one so just like this part here is broken apart we're gonna knock out two blocks here so that a zombie can't jump over well technically they could jump over but they only think that they can if it's a one block span all right so now we have the base cut basically in two definitely don't need this door oh yes and this is going to be the really difficult part we gotta get all these floor pieces out of here well it's definitely taking a while but if you want good things in life you got to work hard for them the next thing I'm going to do is just make our secondary position which will be right about What's it gonna be right here yeah right there foreign that should do it let's get a handful of hatches crafted and I'd like to go with just a skinny pole again we'll use the pull side Center this time just two thank you and two there place a hatch right in the doorway like that and one for back here and basically all we gotta do is just upgrade this stuff and you know I suppose what you also could do is if you just wanted to double up the wall just like that 100 more hit points here okay we'll just do the same thing over here oh except we can't quite do it because this crap here is in the way and you know what I'm fine with that because we got a Fail-Safe position to fall back to but you know we should really do whatever we can we've got a couple of block spaces actually three of them where we can put some sort of a block that might be able to help us out and I think I got just the right Block in mind and that will be the pole double top for here and then the pull double for here and I think we can squeak right through there no problem but I do think the zombies have a difficult time doing the same and we'll just put one on the back like that and this right here will be our punching position all right that is it right there the only thing we got left to worry about is maybe some birds hasn't really been an issue though so far today whoa well it's gonna be a much bigger issue now I'll tell you that because this is all about to fall apart yeah we get some natural lighting at least I guess I wish maybe that I could get like a secondary ladder up there just as like an extra emergency way for the zombies to get up oh and this is like weak as hell too we gotta upgrade this although there's just there's plenty of other stuff for the zombies to beat on and if they get angry so I'm not too terribly concerned that they're just gonna knock all of this stuff out okay and then I'm out of cobblestone now how are we doing on wood also very bad so I think we'll just call it right there so zombies come up zombies take a left zombies come around down and we'll punch them off right here and then if this fails we'll have one fallback position right back here just just get rid of this stuff give me some more Cobblestone too right there we'll have plenty of cobblestone for repairs all right let's bring on the horde I think I like the idea of 750 000 XP getting me up to level 32 and would we do last time did we do day 35 we'll do day 35 22-0 and let them come boom foreign zombies respawned great that's nice I just went ahead and put some lanterns around so we can see what we're doing tonight here we go there's definitely like a slow crawl of zombies coming up here oh and I don't like how Bo is getting stuck down there like that ow oh get my ass kicked too just keep my distance and let them fall down yeah unfortunately the the pull double that we put there this block right here oh cop it's forcing the zombies to duck down which is not ideal at all boat Ducks down and then pop stands on his back fortunately with most dead body in the way I don't know if the zombies are doing very much damage ooh top is spitting at us oh you know I think that plates are more or less invisible to Cops I don't really know why that's the case but I think that's how it goes oh boy yeah this is bad oh boy oh no oh boy let me back inside here wow that was close go ahead just give me all four of these please ah it's just all these ferals getting stuck down there like this I don't like it one bit yes I would say it's probably time to fall back now you can kind of see how they're having trouble on those uh pole doubles over there the big fat ones can't quite squeeze through it foreign it's been a hard fight but we did manage to make it through the horror that was my last bullet right there I did give myself an extra full stack of ammo and an extra full stack of bandages and this is just about ready to break so we just I didn't do any repairs either all night long all right well Sally fourth all right for Honor yes okay the rest of y'all can just die I think I've proven my point here the only major modifications that I would like to do on this base that I think would make it so much better is knocking that block out there and instead use the block that we were using behind like that because I don't think the zombies would try to duck under that like they were the other one it was we were having a really really hard time because the zombies were just ducking down and they were behind the hatch there so I think this would be the absolute final solution to that just like that to see if this biker wants to kind of test it out for me yeah he's not ducking down anymore which is just a huge boost here can I have my hit points back there we go yeah okay he just fell down about 25 of them gentlemen over here please yeah how's this gonna work now oh so much better so much better they stay up at head height so I can just keep punching him in the face and before you know it 24 out of 25 of them in fact all 25 of them have fallen down that is definitely the trick and so you could do that all the way back you could make another one right here you could bake another one here like a final Alamo position back here in terms of the damage down here they didn't do anything to any of this I don't even think that they were going up the ladder on this side I'll have to double check the footage there but yeah really hardly any damage taken to the base other than the fighting position which I was not repairing at all well anyway on to the next one all right the last POI on the list here is Coleman's Drive-In otherwise known as rural Drive-In number one so once you get all the zombies cleared out and it's really not that difficult to clear out you only have to fight maybe three or four zombies at a time at its worst but once you're done you can come right up here and we're gonna make a sick fighting position right inside this room so as always it's going to start with just a little bit of demo work and the only way for the zombies to get up to this level is this spiral staircase which zombies have a really hard time with anyway but you only have to knock out two pieces of this and you're good next up we'll be clearing out this room here now a lot of this stuff could be wrenched if you were so inclined to do so but I'm just gonna smash through it all right so now that I've carved that area out that didn't take long at all actually none of it was concrete it was um Cobblestone but there's this interesting kind of awning here and there's this also this interesting bumper here so I think I'm gonna actually build around this stuff instead of knocking it out and I'm just gonna make one position here you could have probably made sister positions one here and one here and put them on a door like we did at Bob's bores but uh I'm just gonna build the beefiest fighting position that I know how to and that's going to start off with a scaffolding plank which I'm going to place right there and I love my railing blocks so I'll put one let's see here here and then we'll do we'll just drop down here let's just try this pillar 0.5 meter and see how that feels here kind of like it's bolted in right there right and then I'm gonna span this a total of three and then if you've ever watched my Undead Legacy series I'm gonna build the same sort of contraption as I did on that series here to see if it'll work I'm looking for the trussing block metal trusting 3D just like that and bring that all the way to the ground then we'll get these scaffolding ladder because it seems to kind of match up with it kind of nicely and just to make sure that this is as strong as it possibly can be I'm gonna go up with some pillars just like this just to kind of give it even more structural stability on the side edges and here's the cool little trick so if you continue going up with this you can go up to eight I think it's actually seven seven blocks I I can confirm you can go up by seven you might be able to go up by eight but um you can go up that high anyway and the zombies will go to the top and then they'll jump down so it's kind of up to you how high you want them to go the higher the zombie goes and the the longer they fall the more likely they are to rag doll so for this demonstration here let's just do let's do five so that's one and there's five and and uh in my experience you don't have to worry about them jumping laterally they're just going to jump down to here and then you know hopefully Ragdoll and so when a zombie ragdolls and falls down they have a chance to enter what we pretty much refer to as like rage mode or destroy all mode or whatever you want to call it and that is disrupted when you inflict more damage on them but I think it's just player damage and I don't think that like electric fences or uh punch turrets and stuff count I've done a lot of experimenting with this and it seems like it's like sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't so I'm gonna put the punch turret here anyway so that some of the zombies that fall down here and ragdoll will end up just getting punched and maybe that'll piss them off enough so that they'll just start coming back up instead of trying to you know knock down the ladder alright so let's finalize construction on this let's just put another poll kind of right above the pole that's already here just like so we'll bring that across we're gonna need a handful of hatches for this hatch number one one goes there oh and I was gonna put a railing piece on the outside of this but I'm just realizing that that's not going to work that's okay zombies are gonna do the thing where they try to duck down and go under this block and we're just gonna have to deal with that I think okay wow this is uh turning into quite a construction project but I think that's pretty much it right there it's just time to upgrade everything all right so that is 100 poor construction I had to give myself like um an extra well it turned out to be like an extra 50 or 100 Wood and uh round about an extra 700 Cobblestone I would say we'll just stick with the same Motif here and we'll get ourselves nine spike traps for the Rooftop just like that should be fine all right well 1500 and we're done we used quite a few resources but honestly guys you could have used just a simple ramp to get up here or a simple ladder it doesn't have to be elaborate like this this is just showcasing another possible way another possible tool for you to use in your horde Base building toolbox all right well let's get ready and bring on the horde same thing 750 000 XP giving me level 32 and let's see what happens a bunch of airdrops coming in I'm just giving myself some lanterns real quick I'm gonna pop out here and just lay them on the ground in a few spots so that we can see what's going on tonight on Face so you can already see the zombies just falling all over the place lovely I love it yeah we've got zombies up we've got zombies down it's kind of a mess right now okay for this face since I don't have really any combat capability as an intellect player right now I'm gonna do repairs today and just see how it goes it's not gonna go well already oh geez oh yes not good at all in fact uh that that did destroy a block there I'm kind of keen on maybe getting that block replaced just as soon as that body despawns yep there we go it's despawned put that back in in fact put it the other damn way so that the zombies can't get in there anymore there we go that might help out a lot foreign there we go it is morning so throughout the night I did conduct repairs on this block right here until I ran out of cobblestone and I've just been letting it degrade ever since I definitely had the configuration wrong you have to have the railing on the outside there to prevent them from getting sucked up in here because once I switch that around we were having very few problems really no problems here at all as long as I was keeping the the bumper piece here upgraded all right no sense of killing all these guys so we'll just kill them all let's just see what kind of a damage they were doing down here because I heard them down here breaking glass and breaking metal and yeah really not too bad at all I would say they just kind of you know broke some stuff that's all from that cop explosion earlier nothing much going on just you know bits and pieces broken here and there and in terms of this stuff here still looking reasonably good I would say we just show the stability real quick yeah everything's looking fine here this is fine just have to you know do some repairs between hordes and this should work uh into the late game especially get this upgraded to concrete and or steel I think if I had it all to do over again I would have used a pillar piece or a pole piece here like maybe that piece there that would actually Elevate them a little bit so I'd have an easier time hitting them in the face or alternatively that block right there just just about the same thing a little bit wider I'd say another problem was these bumper pieces here I always think that I want to put like more armor more blocks for them to break through but what happens is that this gives him a lip to stand on which makes him Crouch down up in your face and then this one here makes them want to duck down and go and duck down here and so it becomes more difficult to hit the zombies if you just have a nice flush surface here it seems like it's just easier to fight them and a couple Birds ran into some spikes up here which is good to see and uh being that this was an intellect horde fight 74 kills not too bad for intellect I'd say anyway it does it for this place I gave each location and base a score of one through five based on where I think it ranked within each of the five categories outlined in the beginning El Chapo's was the easiest in terms of construction work but has limited room for expansion and construction of a dedicated horn base Bob's boars was rather mediocre in all categories but does have the bonus of containing a huge supply of meat and the super corn the grocery store got the best loot rating both because it's a tier 4 POI and so gives the second highest loot stage bonus for zombie loot bags on horde night but also due to the fact that it has two working vending machines it also carried the highest aggregate score and was my favorite to build and fight in the silos have the best location since I often see this POI very close to Traders but it was the worst for loot bonus it scored well in all other areas and having converted this POI before I can attest to the fun and functionality of this location as your base and finally the drive-in scored best in terms of expansion due to the massive parking area which will allow for construction of a massive dedicated horde base which is on Full display in my Darkness Falls series I hope you found this information helpful and maybe picked up some tips and tricks along the way there's no one way to fight a horde and much of the fun comes from mixing and matching ideas if you have any other ideas for a great POI to horde base conversions let me know in the comments or post your screenshots on my Discord
