what do you think is the best army of 3d print there are a lot of choices to choose from and there are a lot of factors to consider coming in at number five is the adapter's custodies they are very well represented by free files there are plenty of near one-to-one copies online so even after all these recent ban waves there are also plenty of free options that aren't exact clones of models and they would still be great to include in your army such as this shield captain on a lion if clones aren't what you're after then there are plenty of paid for options that are very good in their own right my personal favorites are from cyber forge they do a really good version of the airships and the tread knots surrogate miniatures does a really good option as well in fact i've done a video previously on them before which i'll link at the top of the video now the only problem seems to be that their prices can be a bit on the high side custodies are really good army to start with and also to refresh your palette if you want to add another army to your existing forces the low model coin and the few color choices work really well whenever you want to speed paint a 2000 point army in just a few days like i did they're all still somewhat competitive as of recording this video obviously we all know that can change at any time and they're still great fun to play with having less models and less rules to remember makes it more of a relaxed gameplay style the savings from 3d printing a 2 000 point army can still be huge even if you pick the paid for options when i 3d printed my custodies army i pretty much paid for my printer and then some and if i had i went for the free options then the savings would have been even more and right now i want you to leave a comment and guess what the number one army is the 3d print without looking and at the end of the video see what you commented and see if you agree with what i think and if you want to support me then like the video subscribe to the channel and even consider being a youtube member or a patreon member where you'll get access to the private discord full of like-minded people and you also get access to some members only videos number four is the imperial nights or chaos nights depending on your flavor and after the recent update they are equally as effective on the tabletop for both beginners and feather and select this would be the army that i would actually recommend new people to begin with but we all know that gdubs like to push those poster boy marines there are plenty of free file options that are still available online and they range from exact copies to unique models knights are an army that really benefit from 3d printing for customization ranging from changing your two leg at night up to a four-legged arak knight or even a six-legged centaur knight charging up the battlefield and if legs aren't your thing then you can always change them out for these tank tracks and that will bring them in line with the rest of your armored company of tanks the paid for options for nights are low limited because the paid for options are actually really close to the free ones so for me personally i don't see any differences and i don't see why you would pay for it however there are a few paid for options that will really make your knights unique and i do think that these are good options to choose knights are very versatile in that they can be used as an army on their own or they can be supplemented with imperial or chaos forces which makes them another good reason for beginners to start with the savings for print and knights rack up really quickly and especially whenever you start to look into the legio titanicus and you start to 3d print a warhead title like this number three goes to kl statements and with the new codex being released at the time of this video being recorded it pushes them quite high on the list this is another army that can be used by themselves or supplemented into a chaos army the added bonus of collecting chaos demons is that you can use them in both 40k and each of sigmar the free options recently got a very heavy boost and will continue getting busted because the creator is still working through the four legions these are heavily influenced and frankly a lot better than cheedub's offering at the moment the details in these models make cheetos offering look like saturday morning cartoons at the moment two out of the four gods are fully represented and each god has four unique poses for the greater demons so there's a lot of options for uniqueness for your army there are paid for options that have their own takes on what demons should look like and the most notable one would be one page rules they are really putting their mark on what they think demons should look like but with the free stills the savings are huge compared to buying them directly from g-dubs number two has to go to the poster boys space marines like them or not the poster child always gets all of the new toys to play with and because of that so do we with 3d printing with them being the golden child most of the options are free and that's because as soon as you start to ask for money for it gdubs will be more vigilant with their takedowns free or not the quality of the models are almost on the same level as cheat ups i'm not saying a lot because we're talking about the quality of a 200 to 400 pound 3d printer compared to a multi-million dollar plastic injection machine the reason why space marines are also number two is because they are the only army that can be used in both horus heresy or 30k and also 40k now this is true if you choose the earlier mark armors but if you do happen to go for primaris marines you'll only be able to use them in 40k they are generally the easiest army to play with and with all of different chapters there's more customization to fit it in with your playstyle there are also a lot of customized character models which will really make your army unique like this captain titus model which is based on the character from the space marine 2 game the savings are substantial when you start to 3d print space remodels a box of intercessors cost 60 but i can 3d print it for 5 considering you'll probably want two boxes of intercessors for your army you're already going to save two thirds of the cost of the 3d printer in the first place i've made a video previously on how much you can save by 3d printing space rings which i'll link at the top of the video again so far throughout this video we have looked at all the different factors that we have to take in like the affiliability of models the savings that you'll get from printing off a 2000 point army and also all the customization options that you will get with 3d printing but it's all led to this one moment where i've tried to make it as fair as possible and tried to remove as much as my own bias but finally the single best army that you can 3d print for warhammer 40k today is the one that you like you heard me right any army that you like is the best one the 3d print i could have made a 40 minute video describing all the strengths and weaknesses and the lores of all the different armies but it's already been done before and that's not what this channel is about why limit yourself to only 3d printing one army or even a handful of armies we literally have the toes to make an army that we want any way that we want to date i have 3d printed nine armies in full the top four armies on this list are the ones that i've already 3d printed and the reasons that i give you are the exact reasons that i used myself when i wanted to 3d print them each army has us good and bad some are really complicated rose wise and some are just plain hard to play with with each new codex that comes out at the end of the day you're the one that's going to spend the time sourcing the models printing them then painting them well maybe not painting them but you know what i mean it really doesn't matter what army i think is the best to 3d print if you really want to know originally i was going to pick orcs simply because there's so many creators for them and t-dubs can't do a single thing about it but they are an easy-to-learn but difficult to master army to play with they have a very high model count so generally it's quite hard to get them all painted up and they're normally reserved for veterans or for those that follow the rule of kill which is the whole point of this video the rule of kill needs to be more widely embraced i myself got too caught up with the competitive side of the hobby i lost all my motivation for painting and it was kind of silly whenever you think about it because really i'm not going to play at any major tournaments because i 3d print all of my armies so it's not like i'm going to be at gamesday or anything held by games workshop i still want every army and every model possible and i want to 3d print at least 2 000 points of every army available today and i challenge you to do the same thing but if you really want to know what models are okay to 3d print then you need to watch this video next because i answer that question in depth
