Outposts are a key mechanic in Starfield that
shouldn’t be overlooked. The longer you play the game, the more you'll
appreciate their value since you’ll need plenty of materials for upgrades to your weapons,
ships, and suits and outposts are integral for farming those resources. While you can plant an outpost down on just
about any planet or moon, it’s extremely important to know which places are going to
be the most useful to you since you can only have eight outposts at a time. It becomes even more critical to carefully
consider where to build them in the mid-to-late game when you need the most amount of resources
possible. If you'd rather not spend countless hours
scanning the hundreds of celestial bodies in the game for resources, then don’t worry,
I’ve got you covered. Here are ten of the best planets for building
outposts in Starfield. Remember that Starfield is a big game so we
may miss your go-to outpost planet on this list. If that’s the case, make sure to let me
know in the comments down below. Number 10: Eridani II
Eridani II is a planet in the Eridani star system boasting a wealth of rare resources. This planet proves to be an excellent choice
for establishing outposts during the early to mid-game stages of your time with Starfield. Eridani II is abundant in essential resources
like copper, nickel, and iron, and it also offers access to rare minerals such as gold
and cobalt. The planet doesn’t have many aggressive
creatures either, making it an ideal destination for expanding your outpost network. As a little side note, Eridani II is also
the planet setting for Halo: Reach, but you can check out our full video on that subject
on the channel. Number 9: Kreet
Kreet is a moon orbiting the planet Anselon in the Narion system. The moon is packed with vital early-game resources,
including water, helium-3, iron, lead, argon, silver, neon, and alkanes. That said, there are only three varieties
of flora and fauna on the moon. In addition to being a resource-rich moon,
it also supports a breathable atmosphere and a strong magnetosphere, making it a solid
location for setting up an outpost. Number 8: Zeta Ophiuchi I
Another great planet to consider for outposts is Zeta Ophiuchi I in the Zeta Ophiuchi system. The planet is ideal for mid to late-game outposts
thanks to the rare minerals it has like lead, silver, tantalum, and ytterbium. The planet is abundant in flora and fauna,
allowing you to domesticate and harvest polymers, structurals, and nutrients. Moreover, other planets and moons within the
Zeta Ophiuchi star system are also great places to find helium-3, aluminum, copper, and neon,
so if you set up an outpost here, make sure to take a look at the rest of the planets
in the system while farming resources. Number 7: Cassiopeia I
Located in the Eta Cassiopeia system, Cassiopeia I has a great assortment of early-game resources. On the planet, you can find water, chlorine,
copper, nickel, and cobalt. Additionally, you can find six varieties of
fauna and five varieties of flora on the planet, allowing you to harvest fibers, sealants,
and structurals. In the nearby planets and moons within the
Eta Cassiopeia system, you can also find iron, aluminum, and helium-3. Number 6: Magnar
Magnar is in the Delta Pavonis star system, located south of the Alpha Centauri system
and is a planet abundant in rare minerals. On the planet, you’ll find water, aluminum,
nickel, lead, sealants, and adhesives. All of these resources are invaluable when
building and expanding your outpost. However, it is important to note that the
planet's atmosphere can become extremely hot, posing a challenge for resource scanning on
foot. Number 5: Tau Ceti II
Another excellent early-to-mid-game planet for establishing your outpost is Tau Ceti
II in the Tau Ceti star system. It offers valuable resources such as water,
iron, and argon. But the real draw of the planet is the fact
that it hosts four different types of flora and fauna, providing you with fibers, sealants,
and structurals. Additionally, Tau Ceti II's moon is rich in
helium-3 and aluminum, so with an outpost established on the planet, you’ll be close
to all sorts of different resources. Number 4: Nesoi
Located in the Olympus star system is Nesoi, a rocky planet with a standard atmosphere
and an abundant supply of rare resources, including uranium, argon, iridium, tantalum,
water, and alkanes. There are eight kinds of fauna and five kinds
of flora which provide you with nutrients, structurals, and sealants. The nearby planets within the Olympus star
system are also good to farm on since they can provide you with helium-3 and copper. Nesoi is a perfect planet for expanding your
outpost in the mid-game. Number 3: Ursa Major II
Ursa Major II is a resource-rich planet located in the Ursa Majoris star system, offering
a variety of valuable resources such as water, chlorine, iron, argon, sealants, structurals,
toxins, and spikes. Additionally, the planet boasts a standard
oxygen and nitrogen atmosphere and lacks any flora or fauna, making it an ideal choice
if you're looking to build an expansive base in the mid-to-late-game. The other planets in the system provide you
with helium-3, copper, and aluminum. Number 2: Newton II
Located in the Newton system is Newton II, which features a variety of important and
rare resources, including water, iron, copper, aluminum, uranium, alkanes, vanadium, and
tetraflourides. On the nearby planets, you can find helium-3,
nickel, lead, lithium, and gold. Newton II does not support a breathable atmosphere
and has a high gravitational force making exploration a bit tricky. However, it makes up for that with the rich
resources you can find here making it a great outpost location in the late game if you can
put up with the atmosphere. Number 1: Schrodinger Star System
The Schrödinger star system is home to numerous planets and moons that offer a plethora of
valuable resources, including water, iron, aluminum, copper, chlorine, nickel, titanium,
plutonium, helium-3, and an exclusive resource called Aldumite. The diverse range of flora and fauna on these
planets also ensures a plentiful supply of luxury textiles, structurals, sealants, and
nutrients, so no matter where you decide to build an outpost in the system, know that
you’re in a good spot. Given the abundance of resources, it’s a
solid place to settle down at any point in the game but will be most useful in the late-game
when you need the most amount of resources. And that’s our list of the best planets
in Starfield for building outposts on. If we missed your go-to outpost planet, make
