toy story yes i thought you were trying to draw the um the claw oh that's how i thought that was if you could have voiced a character in any other previous pixar film which one would you choose i'll tell you this before the incredibles 2 came out i wanted to play dash grown up sure because i thought that when they did the second film because it had been so long he'd be like a teenager planes is it a fish finding nemo find a nemo yeah it's bruce oh sick my name is bruce what memories do pixar films play in your own family's lives incredibles was my son's favorite movie for a long time and he loved dash and uh he loved those characters so we watched you know the beauty of having a child one of the many beauties of having a child is being able to revisit films that you've loved yourself and so one day hopefully young man you'll be able to watch those same movies with your own son oh i i've got to try and guess uh wally there you go that's pretty good thanks bro how did you relate to your character's experience well obviously i'm the oldest brother in real life and in this film i'm the youngest brother so i basically just imagined how my little brother paddy would deal with lots of these situations in the film so maybe the character relates more to my brother paddy than he does to me great answer pat how you doing buddy it's a mouse yeah is it a mouse yeah and he it's a really good mouse really long he has a little wooden spoon ratatouille yes it wasn't a mouse it's a rat oh yeah that's right that's not too easy rat tattooey but great little mouse oh no that's not too bad in an alternate universe if spider-man and star-lord could use some of the onward magic spells which one do you think they would choose maybe the aloft elevarts like a telekinesis type of spell i could use that to stop someone and to lift them up that would be helpful um at the arcane lightning arcane lightning would be the that'd be the one that's that's a weapon but your suit has pretty much all the magic in it who would win in a fight spiderman or starlord i think probably spider-man right because you have the iron spider suit yeah but also like without any gadgets i think peter quill could take peter parker but i think spider-man would probably beat up peter quill however peter quill never fights alone and he always fights dirty he's got the guardians of the galaxy if you're taking me on you've got to take on drax and i wouldn't want to fight drives no trick question we'd never fight we'd never fight we've been best friend bro chicken fire onward there you go got it it took you a while why was the trousers the last thing you did i don't know yeah that was sweet man thanks bro for onward you both you got to record some scenes together and were able to improv were there any moments or lines that made it into the final film that were your favorite the entire movie's improv there was originally a script but it had nothing to do with magic or elves or even a guy bringing back his father it was a dine it was gonna be a dinosaur movie about um some people some dinosaurs and some cars yeah it was a cartoon version of jurassic park and fast and furious yeah and then we just started improving and kind of went in the zone and when we came out it was the story of two brothers who were on a quest through a magical fantasy land to bring back their father they'd never met and we're like we did that we kind of have to give dan scanlon the writer director credit i guess but essentially we improv the whole thing that's what they hire us for it's not true oh god oh just add to him uh monsters yes yeah nice that was pretty good that was pretty amazing that was pretty good that's pretty good if you could create your own spell in real life what would it be here's what i would do the garbage island i would wave my wand and boom i would claim that as my own set up a casino i'm just kidding i would clean up the i would clean up the oceans i'd get the garbage out of there and that way i could i could uh capture dolphins and make them work for me um at like a circus you know like a big circus when i first started doing press i was always taught the technique of knowing when to shut up oh abs you're drawing abs on yourself i wish you're giving yourself armor it's a house it's a house that has a bunch of balloons coming out of it [Music] down uh sideways sideways the film sideways with paul giamatti uh uh um upside down looks like you're drawing a pregnancy diagram it's up it was up the whole time well gave it away at what point did you figure that out i think we did pretty well yeah uh we're both really good at drawing and good at answering questions um i'm chris we have a talent for us tom holland go see onward it's a pixar movie
