Tom Hanks Says Clint Eastwood Treats Actors Like Horses

you met Sully I did it I let him at the same I didn't meet him actually I have to say a rarely do I get starstruck but it was a Vanity Fair Oscar party right after the event I was there yes I met him there too I saw him and I I remember getting like like oh my god it's Sully you know it's weird because you see all these actors and it's like alright well you know they're actors you see but then it's like he's Sully's real Dan you didn't you just feel like when you met him for the first of you just feel like really a lazy you know nice to meet you I haven't done any save 155 big Kenny I did ask him how he was handling you know the autographs and sunglasses and I said well that's something we got used to he is the calmest coolest most practical man on the planet well and clinic of common practical men Clint Eastwood directed this film yes he did and he did a beautiful job good job you know I love the guy no seriously oh well no no I say that because he's like it's like guess what Mount Rushmore just came down from South Dakota uh-huh and you're working for him now oh he's so obviously the man when he comes on the set you just you just want to please somebody you don't want him to look in the you want to look him in the eye for too long because he gets that kind of you know and you don't you want to experience that he also he also we realized I both Aaron and I he treats actors like horses in what way well here's the deal there are other other actor movies they make a big deal about action you know alright that started up get ready everybody we're rolling we're roll are we rolling we're rolling rolling we are rolling people add everybody stand by ah ha ha that's what most movies are um clink-clink goes like this and everybody else goes like this which means were rolling and then he's standing right next to he says okay go ahead did you do it maybe I'll say is just take that again just do it one more and then you do it he says all right that's enough of that that's it I said what what's the deal why did that come from and he said when he was doing rawhide right right he had all these old movie directors who just loved the megaphones and the attention and they would did the fit so he and all the other cast of raha around their horses and they're supposed to do something have a conversation and that whole build-up to action would make a horse's head external and so one day he said you know inaudible way is there any way that you could just you know just tell us to go instead instead of saying action so the horses won't flee so the one he'd one guy did it once but they loved the acting well that is a that's a male right so there you go how much you like working with Clint he treats us like horse [Applause] hi i'm jimmy kimmel if you enjoyed the video hit subscribe and if you don't click subscribe this invisible hamster will die

I can totally see Clint having that kind of calm energy. His style of movie is always kind of no frills, like his mentor Don Siegel's movies.
