himself is in the building that's right that's right listen there are some amazing things happening here at the met and we just want to run through a couple of things before we get started with church listen starting in september the met church is beginning a brand new sermon series what is the thing in your life that you can't see that everybody else can just because you don't see it doesn't mean because he's worthy to be praised go from the rising of the sun to the setting of the very same god i don't know about you i don't know about where you are but hey i am ready to worship the and the lord of lords because he's [Music] worthy to be praised [Music] come on we love you lord and we thank you for everything that you're doing right here at the met church god we pray god that you would inhabit the presence praises of your people this morning and that you would have full control we give this service to you so that you can have your way we just want to spend time with you and lift you state or san antonio north tulsa or south tulsa it's time to worship our god and i will remind you and show up to watch worship this morning you showed up to give god a worship this morning i didn't show up to watch you on tv i showed up to give my god the worship that god is due today yeah you know what we'd like to say i don't know what you come to do but i come to praise my god and so we greet you this day on this last sunday in the month of august so much has happened in august we're excited that you all participated uh so faithfully in our first three flashback sundays when we took you back to some of the good old days here at the met church i don't know about you but i enjoyed seeing those faces i enjoyed seeing met members in this building hugging and high-fiving and our choir how many of you missed the met church choir if you missed the choir you ought to just type it type it in the comments right now type it in the comments right now i'm missing the choir i know you will have a tear run down your cheek like the one that runs down my cheek every time i see the choir online ministering to us and so on one day somebody said one day one day the choir will return to the met church until then we will continue to give god the best worship that we have always in a spirit of excellence like what we just witnessed last sunday with our back to school sunday come on y'all give it up for the young people yeah they are going back to school school starts for many of you tomorrow some of you are already back in school we're praying for you and praying with you whether you're virtually learning or in person learning or some sort of hybrid learning you better get your learning on get your learning on that's what my mama used to tell me she said get your learning on but guess what uh don't forget the burning which you're learning right the burning is the presence of the holy spirit don't let the holy spirit be absent in your learning you got to have both the learning and the burning amen well we've got an incredible day of worship planned for you today you've been hearing about this all month long i know you wish you could be here in the sanctuary with us we would have 9 and 11 packed out from the north to the south from the east to the west standing room only because you have been waiting for months to hear from this young brother who's right here at the met church today one of the most prolific songwriters of our day one of the church's favorite worship leaders can't nobody lead worship like todd galbert leads worship you know what i'm talking about he is here he is going to minister in song he's going to bring god's word god has anointed him and appointed him for such a time as this this year one of his songs was awarded song of the year gospel song of the year yeah i'm getting i'm getting ready that's what i'm doing i'm getting ready i'm getting ready for the word i'm getting ready for the worshiping before we hear from brother todd you know here at the vet church we have a uh a little tradition we don't get to execute this tradition because of the virtual worship experience format that we follow but here uh we are the church of home the home of a hug and a mug we're the church that cares there's a great deal of hospitality all of our new people uh when they come they get a hug and a mug so i've already given uh brother todd a virtual hug from a distance we stood seven feet apart we said he did that i said so gotcha so he has this virtual hug but i cannot let him leave tulsa oklahoma without taking a met church well we upgraded it's no longer a mug it's a tumblr and so in uh south carolina uh by the time the next time i see you on instagram having your tea or coffee in the backyard i need you to rep the met church today to give you goosebumps he's not just here today for tears to roll down your eyes oh god i feel an assignment in my belly this morning he's here to accomplish something today and if you lean into this moment if you lean in and open up your heart for god to do a new thing in you i promise you today will be the beginning of something fresh of something new in your life because god has not forgotten about you oh if i don't say anything else today he sent me here to tell you he has not forgotten about you are still on his mind you are still on his mind today you are still on yeah you the one who's sitting in that apartment by yourself you are still on his mind yeah you the one that's been trying to figure out how you're gonna paint the bills yeah you are still on his mind hallelujah and let me tell you why god is going to come through for you let me tell you why god is going to make the way for you let me tell you why i'm so confident that god god is getting ready to do something big in your life it's because he is simply good good is it good is it uh what he does good is who he is you can't have him and not have goodness oh god when he shows up goodness comes right along that's just who he is not what he does it's who he is he's a good god and aren't you grateful that he didn't wait for you to be good before he was good to you but when you were a hot mess he was still good when you were ratchet and nasty he was still good when you were coming out of hotel rooms that you had no business coming out of he was still good i believe that's enough for you to open up your mouth and say you know what god i owe you i owe you this hallelujah i owe you this thank you because when i was ratcheted nasty you still took care of me you still [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so i coming every voice so say to me every voice to me now i need you to take 30 seconds and act like it's just you and him in your room and i need you to begin to pour out worship on this card that's been better than good to i'm only talking to those who have tasted and seen that the lord is good act like it's just you and him in that room and just begin to pour on the feet of jesus pour out your worship pour out your praise on the god that's been better on the god that's been better for the god that's been better than good hallelujah to the kingdom [Music] hallelujah [Music] you've been better than good to me you've been better than good to me now see that does it that doesn't mean a lot for people who've gotten it right [Music] [Applause] they've made all the right decisions they're like okay god you've been good yes but then there are some of us that we've blown it and we deserve for the bottom to fall out we deserve for it to go all wrong we deserve for it to fall apart and for some crazy way this god this this god that we're praising this this god that i'm screaming to instead of giving me his words he gave me his best when i deserved his words he gave me grace he gave me mercy he gave me his goodness that's why i'm screaming you've been better that's why good ain't good enough you have been better you've been better than good to me cause you've been [Music] you've you so much oh man god is here the presence of the lord is in this place and i know he is not limited to this building but he is in your homes right now he's in your in your apartment your condo your townhouse your car wherever you are listening from i know that the presence of god is where you are and his presence is so valuable oh man don't take it for granted because he doesn't have to show up he's god he doesn't have to show up he he is who he is uh it's his grace that when i lift up my hands and he habits the praises of his people so god thank you for your presence now man i get stuck on that sometimes when i start thinking about the fact that i know the truth it's i know i know the truth man like i know pastor i know the truth i know i know the behind the scenes version that the public can't know and to know that god has been so graceful and so patient with me his long suffering is it's just been incredible and that's why i will i may be a lot of things but one thing i will never be is i will never not be grateful i will never not be appreciative to the lord because he's been so good to me and i'm grateful i'm grateful to be here let me try trying to shift out but i feel like this getting on my knees and just lifting my hands and just worshiping because god has been so so good and i just thank him thank you pastor owens thank you for trusting me with this moment um i don't take it lightly i don't take it for granted um man i'm just i'm just a little country boy from rayford north carolina and i'm just amazed at what god has done and what god has continued to do in my life so for every opportunity i thank god for this worship team your worship pastor thank you guys for allowing me to serve with you guys today um to be a part of what god is doing in the great city of tulsa and abroad for everybody who's watching i'm just grateful for it so we're ready to go are you guys ready to go you come you're still crying get you you ain't got no mascara on it's too early in the morning so you you got your lashes still in if they still laying let's let's go let's jump in i got something to say and i believe it's going to help you for the rest of this year it's getting ready to shift your year today as a matter of fact i want you in your houses to start screaming happy new year happy new year today is the day that god changes everything in your life if you receive this word put that in the chat happy new year just start saying that people don't think you're crazy happy new year yep yep right in the middle of august happy new year god is getting ready to shift something in your favor today amen you're good bro you're gonna keep me i'm gonna say hallelujah see you gotta stop so oh man so i need you to do me a favor i need you to go with me uh to john chapter five i need you to open up your ipad uh your iphone uh if you're not really safe saving you got an android phone open up uh your android phone i don't even know if they put a bible app on the android phone i don't know how that works i'm a real believer i have an apple uh all apple products so i love god so i need you to go with me i need you to go with me to john 5 as my ipad as my ipad keeps changing directions on me oh go with me to john chapter 5 and we're going to read verses 2 through i think it's nine let's just read the word of the lord and the scripture reads now there is in jerusalem near the sheep gate a pool which in aramaic i mean aramaic is called bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades here a great number of disabled people used to lie the blind the lame the paralyzed one who was there had been invalid for 38 years when jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time he asked him do you want to get well that is the question of the day do you want to get well sir the envelope replied i have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred while i'm trying to get in someone else goes down ahead of me then jesus said to him get up pick up your mat and walk and at once the man was cured he picked up his mat and walked now i need you to go with me to philippians one and six my bible scholars you already know this verse by heart uh sure some of you have it tattooed on your arm or something go me to philippians one and six and the scripture reads being confident of this very thing if there's something i'mma hang my hat on it's gonna be this being confident of this very thing that he who had begun a good work in you yes you yes you the one that they forgot about the one that they let go of the one that they pushed aside the one that they said would never amount to anything to you he who have begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of jesus christ i need you to i need you to shout the title of this sermon i need you to look at your kids scare them just scream it in their face if you're by yourself i need you to go look in the mirror grab a mirror grab your iphone or your computer walk in the bathroom and i need you to look in the mirror and i want you to repeat this after me if those of you who are here the worship team is just a few of us in the room i need you to shout this with me say there's still time i need you to shout this i need you to shout this there's still time and you know why there's still time say this because there's another way oh can you close your eyes let's pray to jesus father we thank you we thank you for this moment thank you that god that there is something that you want to accomplish today and i pray that you will use me for your glory god i'm not much but with you i can do anything speak now some wonderful truth that will change us that will transform us into your image kingdom of god come will of god be done in this place go into every home every apartment every place wherever they are watching today god sees them arrest them do surgery on us today let us all leave better from being in your presence we need you not todd not by my agenda but we need your will to be accomplished today so have your godlike way we love you we praise you it's in jesus name a man somebody shout amen there's another way another way my wife my wife who's watching right now hey babe i love you i love you so much my wife is amazing like amazing my wife is so gifted she's one of the people um that if she puts her mind on something she can bring it to pass without any prior knowledge of how to make it work she she's my wife is a person who who could say look i want to knit a pink panda on a purple sweater by tomorrow and she would be up watching 45 youtube videos all day and by tomorrow she will be sitting in my bed sitting indian style knitting a sweater with a panda on it she she's just that gift that she could cook she can oh my god the girl can cook she can bake she is incredible she does everything so well i'm halfway jealous because i'm like dog i'm the one out here that you know people know me my name is out here because of the music that god has given me but i'm like she's behind the scenes and she's just the bomb she makes our house go she is incredible but she does this one thing that gets on my nerves i mean he gets my no i got any married people watching you yeah i know your spouse might be in the room you just does your spouse have something that just gets on that one thing i can hear some woman right now to my top one thing that negro got five six seven eight nine things that gets on my nerves but but all of us for today it's just gonna be that one thing does your spouse have that one thing that just gets under your skin it just wears you out as amazing as she is she does this one thing so my wife doesn't drive a lot i drive 95 of the time and every now and again she'll drive for whatever reason she'll get in the driver's seat and she'll drive and when she gets in the driver's seat she puts on her seatbelt and then we'll be going somewhere that we've been to several times we'll be going to a restaurant or or out you know out to eat or something and my wife will pick up her phone and open up her gps and i'm like why are you using your gps to go to a place that you've been to several times it just gets under my skin so i'll just sit over there you know on the passenger side and i'm just like oh what are you doing but there was this one time the very last time she did it i think we were going to the movies and we're going to the movies we've been to the movies 150 times we know how to get to the movies every way in greenville south carolina but she gets in the car she puts her seat belt on and she opens up her phone and she puts in the movie theater in her gps and this time pastor i just flipped i'm like what are you doing why do you need to open up a gps to get to a place that you've been to several times and and she looks at me and she says this she says todd yes i know how to get there she says but the gps has the ability to see what i can't see i said wait a minute girl you preaching you're cute and you're preaching to me in this car she says yes todd i know how to get there she said but on the route that i know there could be an accident on the route that i know that there could be a 10 car pile up on the route that i know there could be a lane closure and the thing that i was once on time for now i'm late because i chose to go my way i looked at her i said girl girl you are preaching better than i'm responding right now because i said to myself how many times have i been delayed how many times have i been late for something that i would have been on time for if i just would have used my spiritual gps and you know what she says to me that got me real excited she says todd i don't know why you tripping you act like i paid for this this is free it came free on my phone i didn't have to pay 99 cent i didn't even have to die it was here when i opened it up and i said that i heard the holy ghost in that moment saying that's what i am i've been paid for by the blood of jesus and you have access to me whenever you want all you have to do is bring me to the table of your decision somebody shout there's another way she says it's a free app why wouldn't i take advantage of something that i have access to why wouldn't i use the thing that's at my disposal because i think i'm smart enough to get there proverbs 3 and 6 says in all of your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path acknowledge him in all of your ways and he will direct your path pastor i thought this was interesting that the writer didn't say he will direct you he said he will direct your path because all of us have this gift and curse called free will yeah you grown booboo you can do what you want to do you can go where you got bills in your name girl you can do whatever it is you've grown you you we've all been there and i'm grown i can do what i want to do we're grown and so we have this gift and sometimes i call it a curse of free will because if i'm honest there are some times where i wish he would just make me do the right thing there are times when i wish she would just make me it would have saved me a lot of tears it would have saved me a lot of drama it would have saved me from a lot of mistakes if he just made me say the right thing made me do the right thing made me go to the right place but he says nah you have free will to do what you want to do that's what makes our relationship with jesus so beautiful is because we say god we we don't want this other stuff we want you we choose you over this we choose you over this relationship we choose you over the world that's what makes our relationship with god so beautiful is because we have the choice to choose him so he doesn't say i'm going to direct you he says i'll direct your path he says he says i'll i will orchestrate this thing because i have to be there when you mess it up that i have to orchestrate it and move things in the right place to get you to your destination as a matter of fact about a month ago me and my family we went on a hike we went on a hike because we were just tired of each other we i had walked in the kitchen one day and i thought my wife and kids were gonna jump me i said are they about to jump me like we we were just tired of each other we've been sitting in this house for four months and we're just like yo they didn't like me i didn't like them i didn't care i made it known what what you gonna do i pay the bills we we were just like oh everybody was just tired of each other so i said you know what let's get out this house let's let's go to the mountain we live like an hour from the mountains let's go to the mountains let's get in the woods let's get one with nature and let's go and hike so we went on a hike with some black folk up in the mountains of north carolina and we're up there we're up there in the mountains and we're on this path going to a waterfall we're we're going to waterfall and on our way to the waterfall you couldn't go uh left or you couldn't go out right you had to stay on the path because if you went left there was wood you couldn't see you didn't know where you were going and to the right it was a ledge and if you walked off you were going to see jesus so you had to stay on the path and that's what god is doing for some of you right now he has put you on the path and you can't go left and you can't go right there's some people who you want to call but they've walked out of your life so you can't call them anymore there's some people who you want to reach out to and god has blocked them from being in your life in this moment because he's orchestrating this thing to get you to your destination he'll let him break your heart to get you on the right path he'll let your boss fire you for seemingly no reason to get you on the right he'll do whatever he has to do to get you on the right path to get you to your destination somebody say there's another way there's another way he he's beautiful at orchestrating that thing he and and to you you're frustrated and you're like god this doesn't make sense i hate i hate the path that i'm on but you have to realize that the path is not the destination the route i need you to write this down if you got a pen if you if you're taking notes i need you to write this down that the route is not the destination the route is the route the route is only designed to get you to your destination it was never meant for you to stay there and some of you have built houses in places where you should have pitched tents because you have built the house in a temporary state in your life it's just a delay you have not been denied you have just been delayed and you got to understand that the route that you're on is being orchestrated by god and it don't feel good it don't look right look right but it ain't supposed to look right it ain't supposed to feel good because it's not the place that he promised you you're just on your way but if you get caught up in what you see in this season if you get caught up in how you feel in this season you will find yourself on the racetrack a racetrack has no exits it just goes around and around and around but i feel by the spirit of god he comes to give you an exit today if you would just lean in and understand that you are on your way to your purpose place but god has to show you something in this season to get you ready for the thing he has prepared for you shout there is another way the route is not your destination it ain't gonna look like your destination i i travel a lot well i used to travel a lot before before rona hit and i traveled about five to eight times a month and uh i use uber a lot and use uber a lot and uh i'm a big foodie i was telling my man earlier today i'm i'm a huge foodie i'm i'm friends with some amazing chefs i love going to opening nights like i i love food i am really 600 pounds it's just the way the camera is like on me it makes me look like that but i'm a huge foodie and i love food and so me and my wife like every night we watch the food network i'm a diners drive-ins and dives fanatic i that we watch chop we watch out the best thing i ever ate we watch all of that stuff almost every night and so i have a list on my phone i have a list it's called my food list so when i go to different cities and i travel i'll put down a real oh that restaurant looks amazing i put it in my phone when i get to the city i'm gonna check it out so when i go and i travel i go to different churches i go around the world i look at my phone as a matter of fact before i leave toast i need somebody to put me on to where i need to go before we get out okay but i put this i put these restaurants in my phone so that when i travel i can go there so i get to the hotel i get checked in and so if i'm in new york and i want to go uh to to chef bureau's place i look it up i call it uber bam i'm out i went to phoenix arizona and there was this place i heard of in scottsdale scottsdale is beautiful i don't know if you've ever been to scottsdale it's beautiful in scottsdale it's an amazing city downtown scottsdale is amazing so it was restaurant i wanted to go to i think it was called alive and i wanted to go there so i get to the hotel get checked in and call me an uber and i get in the uber and we're on our way i know i'm going to live so i'm looking at my phone i'm on instagram my instagram scrolling up and then i look up and i'm like whoa whoa whoa it looked like i'm in an episode of boys in the hood um i'm looking around i'm like what is sir this this where are we i had to look at my app and i'm like okay are we moving in the right direction am i being kidnapped because i'm confused because where i am doesn't look like where i'm going and so i'm i'm getting a little nervous but i would have been a fool to tell this man you know what this don't look like where i'm going drop me off right now i would have been crazy to say you know what this looks kind of sketchy just drop me off right here not understanding that in two blocks everything shifts that in two blocks everything changes that that in two blocks the scenery doesn't even look the same if i just keep going and i come to tell somebody today to keep going i know you want to let go i know this year doesn't look like how you're playing but sweetheart keep going bro i know you're like god how are you gonna get me out of this but i need you to keep moving because there is something getting ready to break if you just keep going there is another way there's another way there's another way and i just began to think about the children of israel if there is somebody who was on a route and that thing shifted crazy for them it's the children of israel can you imagine being in bondage being in slavery captivity for years and years and years and then here comes moses your deliverer shows up and you're like oh my god we're finally free we're finally free god has heard our prayers we're leaving pharaoh deuces we out we are out of here they are celebrating they are happy and god takes them out of pharaoh's house to the wilderness now i'm confused wait a minute so you're gonna you're gonna deliver me from the thing that i pray for you to get me out of to bring me to the wilderness can i tell you something i wrote this down i said it is very possible for god to deliver you from a thing to rescue you from a thing and place you back in the middle of another thing i know it doesn't seem fair it doesn't seem right but he will take you out of something to get you in something to get you to the thing that your heart desires the most and this isn't always fair because i gotta be honest and i know there's some people that's watching today and there may be some people in this room that we've watched other people go the short in the quick route but is there anybody else that you had to go the long way like me i had god had to take me the long way he he took me the law yeah i didn't think it was fair you're looking around you're like now sheila then got promoted she's been here for six months i've been here for ten years doing it the right way i've been on time i did my job well and now she's being promoted she went this short route but there's something that god wants to show you in the long way there's a blessing in the long run you learn character in the long way you learn how to trust him in the long way you learn his voice in the lord sometimes he has to take you the long way it ain't always fun but it's ooh it's necessary hallelujah hallelujah i would have never learned how to trust him if he didn't take me the long way oh god oh god i would have never known he was a healer if he didn't take me the long way can you imagine he puts you in the wilderness he puts you in the wilderness oh my god i came out of this thing but god i want i want to get to the promised land can you just say no he puts you in the wilderness so that you can see that i can provide in a pandemic i'm sorry in the wilderness he puts you in the wilderness to show you that it doesn't make a difference what's around you i can provide even when it doesn't make sense i can do the thing that's in your heart even when it doesn't make sense i can do it in the wilderness and he puts them in the wilderness to take them the long way let me tell somebody this today you can also be doing the right thing at the right time at the right place and the end result still be a red sea they were following god they were following a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night and it led them to a dead end and there are some of you you have been questioning god is this you this doesn't look like you this doesn't feel like how did i end up here how did i land here this doesn't make sense this wasn't a part of my plans this wasn't a part of what i thought my destiny was but i'm here how did i end up here but i come to tell you that you are at the right place at the right time to experience god in a way that you've never experienced him before you're getting ready to watch god turn a sea into a highway in your life if you just keep moving he's going to show you that there's another way there's another way you he takes us some of us the long way and it ain't fun and it hurts and sometimes it's confusing but there's something that he's trying to get not not just get to us there's something pastor that he's trying to get through us there's something that he's trying to show us that my children will be able to benefit from there's something that he's trying to show me and give me an experience because my kids will benefit from this thing that god does in my life your family your co-workers will benefit from the thing that god is doing as he's taking you the long way this year for me i was i never forget i woke up about three months ago just in a panic like a like a whole panic because i said god what is happening in in two weeks pastor i saw ninety thousand dollars worth of income go every every day sorry i'm sorry we're cancelling sorry we're canceling sorry we cancelled this week and i woke up in a panic and i said god what what what is happening i thought i thought this was the year i was i was going to open these businesses i was i was going on tour i was setting this thing of i was finishing my record i thought that god this was the year i had so much momentum coming off of last year and i just knew that this was it man i knew that this was the year that my life was getting ready to explode and now i'm sitting in my house and i don't know how you're gonna do this thing i'm sitting in the wilderness and i'm like lord what is going to happen and god says to me this is when this message was birthed in my heart he said todd there's still time and there's still another way for me to do exactly what i put in your heart and then he took me he took me to philippians and that's why this scripture means so much to me because i was sitting in depression i was sitting in a low place and he said read it out loud don't just read it in your mind open up your mouth and then sometimes you gotta open your mouth it's good to think it it's good to have it in your heart but there are sometimes you got to open up your mouth and let the devil hear you declare the word of the lord i said god what does the word say he says being confident todd of this very thing if i started it in you [Music] this wasn't your idea this was my idea i started it in you and if i started it in you i'm a god enough even in a pandemic i'm a god enough even when it don't look like the money's there i'm god enough i know other churches are doing this but i'm still god enough to still do it when it doesn't make sense when it doesn't look right how can you start a business in the past just watch god and he's going to do how can he bless your finances just watch god and he'll do it how can you restore my marriage when everything around me is falling apart just watch god because if he started it he's god enough to finish it in your life shout in your house there's another way [Music] he gave you the dream he gave you the vision he gave you the husband he gave you if he started it he's going to finish it and i need you to know there's some people that you have put some stuff on a shelf you have shelved your dreams your ideas and i hear the spirit of the lord telling me today take those things off the shelf dust them off oh there's still time there's still time oh god can you put that in the chat there's still time there's still time there's there's still i know i know we're in the middle of the year i know fall is getting ready to hit us how todd how can god do this now in august i thought this was happening in february i come to prophetically tell you today that there is still time for god to do exactly what you thought he was gonna do at the top of the year there is still time if you just keep moving i feel the presence of god and so as i close we get to our text there's this man this man has been in this condition for 38 years you tripping from being in the pandemic for five months six months and you about to lose your mind this man has been in this condition for 38 years and watch this 38 years of having a front row seat of watching everybody get what he wants the most whoa oh god 38 years sitting in the place watching everybody get the thing he wants the most and he can't get it and then here comes jesus here comes jesus here comes his answer and jesus rolls up on this dude and he knows he learns of his situation he comes to the man and he says yo wilt thou be made whole do you want to be healed that's the question that's the million dollar question and that confused me i'm like god why would you no no come on jesus you you see what's happening you see all these sick people at the pool you just learned that the man can't walk you know he's at the place because he wants to be healed why would you go and ask a question that you already know the answer to and the holy spirit says to me todd there are a lot of people who show up that don't want nothing there are a lot of people that are watching right now out of out of religious purposes that's just they were told to watch their mama made him watch uh they just go to church on sundays because they grew up doing it some of them have been going through things for so long they've given up on god doing the thing and they're just coming to coming so god says no no i know you're here i know you're on the organ but do you want to be whole do you do you still do you still want it [Applause] oh oh god you've been praying about it for years and god sent me here today to ask you do you still want it do you still want to be healed do you still want to be whole he asked this man do you want to be whole because there are a lot of people around you that are coming but they don't want nothing it's funny because pastor i started thinking about uh when jesus healed uh the woman with the issue of blood and the woman crawls you know the story she gets there she touches the hem of his garment and she's made whole and jesus asked the question he said who touched me and disciples are like lord it's disney world out here it's people everywhere everybody bumping into you everybody touching you we we don't know who tests you you've been touched 47 times in the last 30 seconds we don't know who touched you and what that let me know pastor is that there are a lot of people around him but there aren't a lot of people touching him oh god there's a lot of people coming to worship but there aren't a lot of people touching him there are a lot of people come in the bible study but there aren't a lot of people you can be around him and still not she touched him because she needed something and my question to you today is do you want to be whole or have you become comfortable in dysfunction i need you to write this down point number one point number one or two or whatever wherever we're i need you to write this down i cannot become comfortable in dysfunction okay you can't you can't it's it's i equate it to pastor when i was young go to the refrigerator and you open the refrigerator what the heck what's that smell in here but as a kid you don't care you get your bottled water close the refrigerator door going about your business you go back open and refrigerate again and a few days later you're like man the smell is still in here get your milk make your bowl of cereal you shut it and you keep it moving by that third time later on that week you open that door you don't even smell it because you have become comfortable with it ah what used to make you sick don't make you sick no more because you've been around it for so long what used to make you uncomfortable doesn't make you uncomfortable no more because you've been around it for so long you have become comfortable with the smell you have become comfortable in sin you have become comfortable in dysfunction but the devil is a liar god is here today to pour you a part of that thing to let you know you cannot stay in that place there is something better for you today i cannot become comfortable in dysfunction i don't care if your mama lived in dysfunction all of her life the devil is alive that does not have to be your portion sweetheart i know your house you grew up around people who argued and fussed and cussed and that's all you saw year after year but that doesn't have to be you i know you saw abuse but that doesn't have to be you you don't have to become comfortable in that thing i don't care what your daddy didn't do i don't care what your mama did i don't care what your uncle did oh it doesn't make a difference you cannot become comfortable and dysfunction god jesus wanted to know what were you cool with just being like this are you are you good i know you're here but are you are you good are you you you settled we're just living like this do you do you want to be whole and then the man says to jesus he says lord when the water is stirred i don't have anybody to help me get in the pool he says i don't every time i'm trying to get in someone steps in front of me this isn't a part of my message but i'll say this uh just for somebody that's listening it's a very sad thing that this man had no mother no father no brothers no friend he had nobody to help him get in the pool if there was ever a season you need to know who's around you it's now if there was ever a season you need to know who who's in your who's in your camp it's right now because it's a sad thing to need help and nobody around you can help you he gives this is he gives an excuse it didn't make sense to me pastor i'm just like why not just say yes just say yes your answer is here your your answer is here your your answer is here like what you need is in front of you and instead of just saying yes he gives an excuse for his condition point number two let go of the excuses let go if this was dependent upon you then i could see you saying oh this is i may not be able to make it no no no no this ain't dependent upon you your job is to be not weary and well doing it's god's job to bring it to pass so you have to let go of y'all i know no i don't i don't want to hear about the money no more and i don't i don't want to hear about the education no more i don't i don't want to hear about what they did and how they did and it doesn't look like that could happen for me no you have to let go of every excuse and say god however you want to do it my response is simply yes somebody shout yes yes you have to let go of the excuse instead of just saying yes that would have made sense i'm rushing i'm getting into the clothes he said he says i don't have nobody to help me uh and for about 15 people that are watching i want you to understand that god has set it up like this for you because you thought that you were going to make a call and they were going to help you you thought you were going to call him and he was going to help you and god shut down the relationship because he wants you to understand that what i'm getting ready to do in your life ain't nobody else going to get the credit but me ain't nobody else gonna get the glory but me at the end of the day you're gonna be able to say if it had not been for the lord who was on my side that's what god has said to get up that you ain't gonna be able to go left or go right you're gonna have to stay on that path that he's gonna show you that if you stick with me i'll get you to your destination you have to let go of the excuse and the last thing point number three jesus tells the man after he tells him his excuse for his condition jesus says let me help you before you mess up this miracle because you talking the wrong talk you got if there's ever a time you need to say the right thing it's right now you're saying the wrong thing jesus said you know before you mess this up take up your bed and walk the last thing you have to do which is the most important thing you have to do in this season write this down tell yourself i have to do what he tells me to do this is this is probably the most important note of the morning because we're living in a culture pastor where everything is changing every everything is shifting every people are changing the culture is changing your friends are changing politics are changing but let me tell you what hasn't changed this bible i know it's an ipad but imagine it's a bible imagine it's a big coffee table this word has not changed let me tell you something your computer may need to be updated and upgraded your phone may need to be updated and upgraded but god does not need to be updated or upgraded if he told you to do it then it still stands now if he said you can't do it then it still stands now you still have to do what he tells you to do the first miracle the first miracle jesus does i love this i love mary i love meredith mary was gangster for this i love man there at the wedding jesus is at the wedding and they run out of wine and she says jesus you know we ain't got no wine i need you i need you to come through for your girl they are here they're embarrassed it was one of the most embarrassing things to run out of wine at a wedding and so they run out of wine and she's like jesus come through for you girl jesus is like woman i was like dang he said woman that's pretty rough it's a woman it ain't my time yet okay it ain't my time it ain't my time mary's a boss mary's like some like some black mama she looks at the servant she ignores what he says and she says y'all just do what he tells you to do the first miracle that's recorded by jesus mary says if you want to see the miracle just do what he tells you to do and there are some of you you're like god i need you to do it god i need you to do it but god is not going to bless you in a state of disobedience god is not going to bring it to pass while you're in a state of disobedience if you're going to get to this place if you're going to get to your destination if you're going to get to the promises of god you're going to have to do what he tells you to do your miracle is connected to your obedience you got to do what he tells you to do if you're going to get to your destination if you're going to get to that thing that's in your heart i don't care how talented you are how gifted you are you're gonna still have to do i don't care how bad the culture is changing i don't care how bad politics are changing that word is the same today and forevermore you still gotta do what he tells you to do this man is in this condition and i'm closing you can close your your android phones this man is in this condition you can play man and i thought pastor for so long that it was a it was a lack of faith the reason why he gave an excuse i was like okay of course he just doesn't have faith to believe that god can heal him that jesus can heal him so he's like well let me just this is why it can't happen this oh let me tell you something change your verbiage man it's easy to say why can't tell yourself why it can happen because greater is he that is in me than he that is in that's why it can happen but he's i thought it was just a lack of faith i said you know he just he doesn't believe and and the holy spirit said to me no todd there wasn't a lack of faith because it doesn't take a whole lot of faith the bible says the faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain it doesn't take a whole lot of faith our struggle is doubt not faith don't take a whole lot of faith you believe that jesus and you ain't never seen jesus in your life but you believe because you have faith enough to believe and you stand on that every single day of your life it does not take a whole lot of faith so his problem wasn't fair his problem hear me this is why i'm here for this moment right here his problem wasn't faith your problem isn't faith his problem was he thought that if he was going to be healed it was going to happen one way in his mind year after year that if god is going to do it it's going to look like that oh god hear me hear me hear me he thought that the only way that it could happen was him getting in that pool and jesus shows up to show him there's another way oh some of you have been crying you have been begging god you have been frustrated because you said god i thought you were gonna do it like this i thought you were gonna show up like you did it for my mama i thought you were gonna show up how you did it for my cousin i thought you were gonna do it how you did it for my pastor but god has said i'm gonna do it but i'm gonna do it another way this issue wasn't faith he just thought that it could only happen one way and i'm here today to tell you my brother there's another way oh there's another way my sister what if god hear me what if god wants to do something in your family that he's never done in anybody else's family [Music] what if god wants to do something in your church that he's never done in any other church but if you are holding him to your idea of how you think it should happen you're going to stay in this never-ending circle you're going to stay frustrated you're going to stay aggravated you're going to stay disappointed because you are holding god to this idea but today if you can just say god i let go of how i think it should be done i let go of how i think it should happen and i say god however you want to do it my answer today is simply yes lord [Music] however you want to do it my answer is yes jesus is here right now wherever you are just like he showed up for that man at the world he's in your house he's in your room and he wants to do the thing that you want him to do the most but he just may want to do it another way do you have the faith to just let go of how you think it should happen lift those hands wherever you are lift those hands i need you to lift them and i want you to have your hands open as a sign that god i'm letting go i'm letting go i know i thought it would look like this i thought it would have happened three months ago i thought it would have happened three years ago i thought you would have done it like that i saw how you did it for my grandma and i just thought that you was gonna show up for me like that god i give you permission oh god the howard come on come on i need you to talk to him talk to him let your children hear you talk god however you want to do it my answer is yes i give you permission to come into my life god and rearrange put me on the right path orchestrate my steps god however you want to do it my answer today is yes yes yes to your will yes to your way yes god i'm tired of going in circles get me off of this racetrack give me an exit today god and exit to my destiny and exit to my future i exit to the promise to the thing that you put in my heart god get me off of this race track and get me into my future and i say yes and i let go of every idea i let go of my goals and how i think they should happen and i give you free will and permission to come into my life and however you want to do it do it god i give you permission to show me another way today i give you permission come on say that say god i give you permission to show me another way come on god i give you permission to show me another way god i give you permission to show me another way he thought that it could only happen one way and jesus shows up to show him there's another way my brothers and my sisters there's another way it is before you right now if you lean into this moment today is the day that everything changes today is the day that everything changes today is the day that everything changes because now i can direct my frustration into praise because i understand it god isn't mad with me god god wants to bless me god is for me god and it gets me god is for me he just wants to do it another way and god's way pastor i love this tatriva gay told me this a long time ago he said todd god's way isn't just right god's way is better the enemy can't fight us on if god's way is right he knows god's way is right he fights us on is god's way is better he makes you think that your way is better your way is quicker your way gets have let go of their idea of how they think it should happen and i pray for the courage yes hallelujah the courage to walk on water because they're getting ready to walk into unfamiliar territory because now it's not my will but that will be done and that's gonna look a little different from what they had planned it's going to feel a little different from what they imagined but god i thank you for the courage to stay the course to stay on route to stay to stay they may not look like how they thought it would but i pray that they'll have the courage to stay on the right path because you are orchestrating this thing and it's going to be beautiful be not weary my brother be not weary my sister it will do it for in due season your season is closer than you think your season is closer than you've ever imagined it's coming for you now god i pray for the faith and the courage to hang on to see it to the end that they will not abandon ship too quick they won't jump overboard too quickly encourage your hearts today to let them know that you're going to see them through that what they thought would take a year is going to take three months what they thought would take three months is gonna take three weeks for some of them by the time they get to work that thing is going to already be shifted they're going to open up an email and see that god is already moving on their behalf you're doing it but you're doing it another way and god we say yes today to your will to your way to however you want to do it and we thank you for it now everybody under the sound of my voice i need you to say amen and it is so if you're grateful that there's another way if you're grateful that god has given you another way i need you to praise him wherever you are i need you to praise him on your couch praise him in your bedroom praise him in your car praise him in your condo praise him in your town house let everything that have breath let everything that understand that god is getting ready to show up in a different way and it's going to be beautiful it's going to be amazing it's going to be incredible god is getting ready to do what he promised me he would do [Music] and my answer started because you were able to do exceeding abundantly above what we could ask or imagine now that's only if you believe if you believe that god started something in you you need to have the courage to name it the preacher said sometimes we got to say stuff out loud we got to shame the devil and tell the devil that we know that what he's trying to do will never work i need you to document that today and even as you do met church i know you're at home i know you're in south tulsa at patterson new jersey keepers game florida baton rouge irving texas san antonio and dallas but wherever you are i want you to in your home stand up on your feet put your hands together and thank the lord for the preacher and the psalmist today and none other than brother todd galbraith yeah yeah that's a word that's a good word that that's going to hold you all through september it's going to hold you all through 2020. it's going to hold you even into a brand new year [Music] thank you thank you god my word for this week has been grateful all week i've been waking up meditating on the word grateful and today that theme is further reinforced i'm grateful for the man of god who has come here today shared his gifts in this important and profound way in a way that we all felt like we had a personal contact with a living savior and for that we are grateful and out of our gratefulness we take just this moment to give just a portion of that which we have been blessed back to this ministry so that we can continue to operate in the spirit of excellence the spirit of excellence that allows us to bring prolific speakers and psalmists like todd to the met church that spirit of excellence that allows us to feed those who are hungry to help those who are running short on their rent to make sure
