Oh God it's wet what am i doing in here [Music] this week we're going on another food adventure right now we are cruising through the streets of Old Town in Ho and Vietnam and I've got my house with me a joke yeah today what are we doing today we are going to eat plants is there something special about this clam clam beautiful and it's super super tiny that you can I think you cannot imagine how tiny it I think you're crazy if you come to Vietnam or almost anywhere in Southeast Asia and you don't rent a scooter to check the place out maybe try to get a license to proper license oh you know some people will look the other way you know I won't judge you oh now we're going into a tiny alley this is really off the beaten path Wow we went really quickly from Old Town to like jungle wilderness [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah yeah where's the restaurant ah the restaurant is right around the corner but firstly we need to take the clan organ we're gonna catch the clams yeah - hey could you please learn about YouTube and subscribe to me would that be okay well okay I think she said yeah yeah I got that rhythm we are making plans get it from the river get in class they keeps on getting bigger we got so many clams right here in this basket it is so crazy I cannot wait to have it Oh making clams we're making that's okay I'm done yeah you can have that no big deal and that's on the house you enjoy that okay come on Nicole ah now we've got our clams we're gonna head to the restaurant yes okay okay alright let's go where you see get aware of turn your whining wheels sorry that is that of crusty we will take rats in my friend okay I am completely soaked I smelt like a clam and I feel great and now we're here at the street side cart and we're going to get the clam but also some other tasty treats right what is the first thing we're trying named rice cake it looks yummy mmm this cake looks so nice that I just want to put a candle in the middle for my next birthday it's not that kind of cake no okay no oh there we go are we going to eat with it yeah okay so what we have here is just a piece of wood from an old door what is it this is a bamboo spoon just always use for it in cakes only you can only find it important Wow guys these are very exclusive spoon so the cake is on the bottom and there's this kind of orange sauce on the top what is that our sauce is put brown shrimp and pork we kind of peel it we got our little shrimp pork sauce on top oh you're much better than me oh I got a huge people year and then down the hatch [Music] how's the candles taste like it tastes like Fritos especially hot noodles all these are fried noodles well the sauce is like nice and warm saltines a little bit of poor taste a little bit of shrimp taste but nothing strong and then the cake is nice and now makes into a little bit chewy chewy but not up not hard thanks little rice cake so we're going to get the clams next okay let's go eat some clam so here we are we were working hard at the river all day or at least you know for like 20 minutes and finally the result of all our work that's beautiful clam stir frying right yeah like virus we want to try this widget omelet I call it a smash cake smash cake how does that work before you is it interested in exercise and it's like this oh that's a smash that's a reason behind one more time one more time no it didn't okay that didn't have the that didn't have the effect I was looking for there's two layers here there's like a crunchy rice cake and then there's the what do you call this one what what right okay and so this one kind of sticks to the dry ones and then for some reason you have to punch it yes we punch it to make them stick together so this is ready to eat yeah and you eat it alone no it looks a little muddy you're shaking oh that's not that is patrolling this is fermented anchovy anchovy event comes before which is a fermented shrimp paste and this is on a similar level on that right cool okay good very excited I'm going to put in a dip how do i mix it okay oh and let's see yeah that is a strong fermented smell let me tell you so how is it compared to a stream cake not bad it can be a little intense at first but you have to put the chili in time moving on that was wonderful but the reason we're all here before they supply them stir-frying how do we put it into here the reason why we have the right sector here all right this is an eating utensil we've got the Trini clams that we caught today onion peanut and then Vietnamese mint and that's all there is to it I like to get two of them and then I scoop it on there and then I put it into this area right here Adame it just has a little bit of a seafood flavor to it you can taste the mint a little bit savory the ala knowledge at a time a simple snack has a nice kind of meaty texture to it which goes nicely with the rice cracker it's simple it's nice ended nice it isn't really a meal it's more of a snack and in fact this place is featured on the oil food tour that is hosted by one trip I highly recommend this tour if you're enjoy and they also have a great foot tour in Saigon links are in the description I will see you guys next week [Music]
