Dp/dr has to resolve itself on its own. There is nothing you can do to just snap out of it. Had it for 12 yrs and I’ve tried all this bs. Cold showers somewhat help but not worth it during winter. When I watch videos like this I am thinking, “wow dude. You have no idea.” Depersonalization is a sickness that can’t be cured. It can be managed but life will never be normal again. All these ppl saying “how I cured my dp/dr,” are just people whose depersonalization naturally resolved itself. The people who have it chronically have some physiological issue keeping there brain from being able to reach homeostasis. The typical time that this disorder takes to resolve is 15-20 years for those who developed it young and have had it chronically.

Don’t make yourself feel guilty of not being able to change your mindset. This is just the nature of dp/dr and part of the disorder itself. Anyone who claims to have the cure for this is lying. Sorry.

Yeah it sucks. Mine was triggered by marijuana but I also got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which can also cause dp/dr. I guess the one thing we can give each other is support. Sorry my post was all doom and gloom. It’s been a rough depersonalization week. Hanging on by a thread here :(

Yes that is my usual process lol. I just worry that everyone around me can feel my depersonalization and just general awkwardness
