This Is Why You Are Still Alive | Perry Stone

have you ever gone through things and wondered how you made it through whether it was a disease a virus a car accident something that happened at work and accident work and you said wow i made it through that or have you ever had an incident happen maybe you were in an accident where some people's lives were taken but you were spared and you know you kind of ask yourself why me why was i the person that was spared now if you've not gone through that i still want to pose a question to you why are you still living how did you make it through what you made it through how did you survive why are you a survivor and i'm going to give you the answer to this is why you are still alive now three quick points i want to make point number one is it is appointed a set time for people to live on earth all of you watching me have a time appointed by god your creator to live on this earth and then either will go and you will go in the coming of the lord when jesus returns or you will pass away number two the book of ecclesiastes says there's a time and a purpose in seasons for every season under heaven a time of war then a time of peace a time of love a time of hate a time of we would say it this way a time of good gather bad a time to gather stones a time to throw stones away so all of this is seasonal so there are seasons of life so point number one there's a set time for you to live point number two there are seasons in life and here's the big one point number three is every person that god has brought to this planet has a particular assignment to do in their lifetime and uh we will you know talk about that a little bit further in a moment now here's the point that i want to make right up front you will not leave this planet i don't bla no this is what i believe if you follow the lord and if you pray and seek him you will not leave until your assignment is finished and let me say that again you will not leave the planet until your assignment is finished how can i say that because in the bible many times the people attempted to kill jesus and these were devout zealous jews who believed that jesus was a heretic okay first there was a storm that tried to take the boat down and the boat didn't sink then he goes to jerusalem and twice they attempt to stone him this is john 7 30 and john 8 20 and he says his hour had not yet come now what that means is he not fulfilled his earthly assignment now when you go back and read the scripture this is what you will discover that in john chapter 12 three times jesus makes this statement mine hour has come this is my hour now when his hour came or the time was completed that his assignment of earthly ministry was done they arrested him they beat him they crucified him because that's what he came to the earth for that was the culmination or the complete fulfillment of his assignment so keeping that in mind let me give you another example of this your hour hasn't come and then your hour comes idea uh in the gospel of saint john 21 verse 8 peter is told by the lord you will live to be an old man and other people will help you walk you will need help in your old age in acts chapter 12 peter is arrested and herod makes plans to behead peter after passover now peter is going to be beheaded the next day and he's in a jail sleeping now honestly if i knew i was going to be beheaded the next day i don't know if i'd be sleeping he is so he is so deep in sleep that when the angel of the lord comes into the prison he has to smote him the bible said or hit him hard to awake him from his sleep how can peter be sleeping knowing he's going to be beheaded the next day probably because he had a prophecy and that prophecy was you're not going to die till you're old now at the time of acts 12 he was still a young man now when he say young he was probably in his 40s but old is like i'm not saying you're old if you know old as you feel but old would be you know in the late 70s 80s 90s that would be considered to be old by the standards we have today so peter slept i believe because he knew the word of the lord said you can't you're going to live to be an old person so both jesus knew that there was an assignment but nothing could happen until the assignment was complete and peter knew he had a prophecy of the length of time he was going to live so he just went to battle with the prophecy and of course he did die according to fox's book of martyrs by crucifixion upside down he said he was not worthy to be crucified the way the way or the manner his lord was crucified now here's the thing i want to share with you you are still where you are doing what you do following the lord and being blessed by him because what satan or people try to do to hurt you whether is destroy your reputation to destroy your ministry to destroy your business to destroy your family whatever he tried to do did not work and the reason is because of three things i'm going to tell you about briefly number one is the calling number two is being chosen and number three is the prophetic assignment first of all your first call is to salvation the bible says the holy spirit is given to as many as the lord our god shall call that's not called to preach that's called to salvation so your first call is the call of the holy spirit to bring you to salvation all right and that calling of salvation also involves whatever your life's work would be once you find the lord number two is being chosen now chosen is a higher level than being called in that god said to jeremiah before i formed you in the womb i knew you and i ordained you to be a prophet jeremiah 1 5. paul in galatians says that he was chosen an apostle from his mother's womb now he was chosen an apostle but yet he was a pharisee and fought christianity until he came to the calling of his salvation of which then he found his divine assignment so your divine assignment is connected to your receiving christ some of you if you're not born again and christian and you're out of the will of god that's why you're so miserable and unhappy right now because you'll never be fulfilled till you have that relationship with the lord the third part of this is what i call the prophetic assignment and your prophetic assignment is something the lord has called or chosen you to do at the time of the end my prayer lady who's prayed for me since 1981 is be ogle and has 1500 women called the daughters of rachel who uh pray for our ministry and us and our family b ogle said to me recently and i've never heard her say this that the lord had told her and i i it's hard for me to talk about this because these are things that are very private but that from my mother's womb he had called me to the end-time message to preach prophecy and there's no way i could get out of it in other words it was a call if i tried to preach other things i would always come back to this word because this generation had to hear it and so i believe that god has helped me because i was almost killed in a car wreck between the ages of two and three i had meningitis at age 14 that could have went into my spine and affected me very very seriously god healed me one night in a in a prayer service i lost a plane engine one time coming back from madisonville kentucky the plane could have very easily crashed i've gone through a lot of serious attacks that the lord has really brought us out of and 2020 was a strange year because for most of us it was the toughest year of our lives and at the same time for the voice of evangelism ministry it was the most blessed year we've ever had in the history of voice of evangelism so it's uh it's just almost we i like to use the word enigma it's almost a mystery but listen to me carefully here's the summary of what i want to tell you you are still here and if you're still here you're here because god is not finished with your assignment no matter what age you are so what you have to do is number one is ask god thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give me your will and your assignment for my life number two is walk through little doors before you go through big doors follow the doors that god opens and pray about each one making sure it's the right door to enter and really number three is when you are sick diseased in an accident or something bad happens fight the enemy with the assignment fight the enemy with the call of god fight the enemy with you know he has things to do god is not finished with me yet god spoke to me and i think he inspired me with this word because he said to me perry there are things i want you to do i called you to do i've chosen you to do you've not done them yet so i'm going to keep you and help you praise god because there are still things you have to do see there are things i want to say this to some of you you may not believe this but there are things that only you can do there are certain people that only you can reach there are certain assignments that only your particular gift in the area where you live in your town can a can help you to accomplish for the kingdom of god so i do want you to be encouraged and i want to conclude with this story many years ago oral roberts who was a man a great minister who built oral roberts university and had a great ministry he had a co-worker that had a sudden heart attack in serious condition in the intensive care of a hospital and the granddaughter if i remember the story correctly the granddaughter uh asked oral to go pray for uh her grandfather and oral went in there and it being intensive care he didn't want to pray aloud he didn't want to get overly zealous so he reached over and he laid his hands and prayed well the granddaughter caught him leaving the emergency room and said to him what's wrong with you why don't you pray the prayer like you used to pray in the old 10 days get in there and pray like you know how to pray so he went in there and he the story is that he leaned over to the man called his name he said can you hear me he nodded he was course hooked up with different things and he said do you feel like god wants you to have more time and he nodded yes he said that's all you know and oral roberts jumped halfway in the bed laid his hands on the man rebuked death and the man came out of the hospital right after that and lived so as long as you know that you're not finished with your assignment you can fight the enemy with that and you can say you're not taking me out you're not going to destroy me because god has called me from my mother's womb god has called me in my lifetime to do something for him and i will fulfill it i hope that's an encouraging word for you today and i do want to remind you that we have over 70 books that we've written hundreds of
